    Matthew ch. 21

    Celebrating Jesus' entry into Jerusalem — a day of praise and expectation.

    Matthew 21:1 (KJV) — And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and came to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then Jesus sent two disciples,

    Matthew 21:5 (KJV) — Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.

    Matthew 21:9 (KJV) — And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

    Mark 11:17 (KJV) — And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

  6. Good Friday

    A solemn day of the cross — witness the depth of sacrificial love.

    John 19:17 (KJV) — And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha.

    John 19:18 (KJV) — Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

    John 19:30 (KJV) — When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

  7. Holy Saturday

    Waiting

    Matthew ch. 27

    A day of waiting and rest before the joy of the resurrection.

    Matthew 27:59 (KJV) — And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth,

    Matthew 27:60 (KJV) — And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed.

  8. Easter Sunday

    Resurrection

    Matthew ch. 28

    Celebrate the resurrection and the hope it brings.

    Matthew 28:5 (KJV) — And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
