Ezra

Chapter 2

Summary

Ezra Chapter 2 provides a detailed registry of the exiles who returned to Jerusalem and Judah from Babylon. It lists the families, priests, Levites, singers, gatekeepers, and Temple servants, along with the specific number of individuals in each group. The chapter also records the livestock and the generous freewill offerings the people gave as they arrived at the site of the Temple. It concludes by noting that the people settled back into their ancestral towns, marking the official resettlement of the land.
