Psalms

Chapter 111

Summary

Psalm 111 is an acrostic hymn of praise, where each line begins with a successive letter of the Hebrew alphabet. It celebrates the great and glorious works of the LORD, declaring them to be pondered by all who delight in them. The psalmist highlights God's character: His grace, compassion, and righteousness: as evident in His provision for His people and His faithfulness to His covenant. The psalm concludes with the foundational truth of biblical wisdom: that the fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and all who follow His precepts have good understanding.
