1 Corinthians

Chapter 13
1
Phonetic (Greek): Ἐan tais glossais ton anthropon lalo kai ton angelon, agapen de me echo, gegona chalkos echon e kymbalon alalazon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal.

2
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂kai ean⸃ echo propheteian kai eido ta mysteria panta kai pasan ten gnosin, ⸄kai ean⸅ echo pasan ten pistin hoste ore ⸀methistanai, agapen de me echo, oythen eimi.
Edified Edition (EDE)And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.

3
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂kai ean⸃ psomiso panta ta hyparchonta mou, ⸄kai ean⸅ parado to soma mou, hina ⸀kauthesomai, agapen de me echo, oyden opheloymai.
Edified Edition (EDE)And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing.

4
Phonetic (Greek): Ἡ agape makrothymei, chresteyetai he agape, oy zeloi ⸂he agape⸃, oy perpereyetai, oy physioytai,
Edified Edition (EDE)Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;

5
Phonetic (Greek): oyk aschemonei, oy zetei ta heautes, oy paroxynetai, oy logizetai to kakon,
Edified Edition (EDE)does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;

6
Phonetic (Greek): oy chairei epi tῇ adikiᾳ, synchairei de tῇ aletheiᾳ·
Edified Edition (EDE)does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth;

7
Phonetic (Greek): panta stegei, panta pisteyei, panta elpizei, panta hypomenei.
Edified Edition (EDE)bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8
Phonetic (Greek): Ἡ agape oydepote ⸀piptei. eite de propheteiai, katargethesontai· eite glossai, paysontai· eite gnosis, katargethesetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)Love never fails. But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is knowledge, it will vanish away.

9
Phonetic (Greek): ek merous ⸀gar ginoskomen kai ek merous propheteyomen·
Edified Edition (EDE)For we know in part and we prophesy in part.

10
Phonetic (Greek): hotan de elthῃ to teleion, ⸀to ek merous katargethesetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away.

11
Phonetic (Greek): hote emen nepios, ⸂elaloun hos nepios, ephronoun hos nepios, elogizomen hos nepios⸃· ⸀hote gegona aner, katergeka ta toy nepiou.
Edified Edition (EDE)When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

12
Phonetic (Greek): blepomen gar arti diʼ esoptrou en ainigmati, tote de prosopon pros prosopon· arti ginosko ek merous, tote de epignosomai kathos kai epegnosthen.
Edified Edition (EDE)For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.

13
Phonetic (Greek): nyni de menei pistis, elpis, agape· ta tria tayta, meizon de toyton he agape.
Edified Edition (EDE)And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
