Chapter 16
1
Phonetic (Greek): Peri de tes logeias tes eis toys hagious, hosper dietaxa tais ekklesiais tes Galatias, ohytos kai hymeis poiesate.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given orders to the churches of Galatia, so you must do also:

Περὶ δὲ τῆς λογείας τῆς εἰς τοὺς ἁγίους, ὥσπερ διέταξα ταῖς ἐκκλησίαις τῆς Γαλατίας, οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ποιήσατε.

Phonetic (Greek): kata mian ⸀sabbatou hekastos hymon parʼ heautῷ titheto thesaurizon ho ti ⸀ean eyodotai, hina me hotan eltho tote logeiai ginontai.
Edified Edition (EDE)On the first day of the week let each one of you lay something aside, storing up as he may prosper, that there be no collections when I come.

κατὰ μίαν ⸀σαββάτου ἕκαστος ὑμῶν παρʼ ἑαυτῷ τιθέτω θησαυρίζων ὅ τι ⸀ἐὰν εὐοδῶται, ἵνα μὴ ὅταν ἔλθω τότε λογεῖαι γίνωνται.

Phonetic (Greek): hotan de paragenomai, ohys ⸀ean dokimasete diʼ epistolon, toytous pempso apenenkein ten charin hymon eis Ἰerousalem·
Edified Edition (EDE)And when I come, whomever you approve by your letters I will send to bear your gift to Jerusalem.

ὅταν δὲ παραγένωμαι, οὓς ⸀ἐὰν δοκιμάσητε διʼ ἐπιστολῶν, τούτους πέμψω ἀπενεγκεῖν τὴν χάριν ὑμῶν εἰς Ἰερουσαλήμ·

Phonetic (Greek): ean de ⸂axion e⸃ toy kame poreyesthai, syn emoi poreysontai.
Edified Edition (EDE)But if it is fitting that I go also, they shall go with me.

ἐὰν δὲ ⸂ἄξιον ᾖ⸃ τοῦ κἀμὲ πορεύεσθαι, σὺν ἐμοὶ πορεύσονται.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἐleysomai de pros hymas hotan Makedonian dieltho, Makedonian gar dierchomai,
Edified Edition (EDE)Now I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia (for I am passing through Macedonia).

Ἐλεύσομαι δὲ πρὸς ὑμᾶς ὅταν Μακεδονίαν διέλθω, Μακεδονίαν γὰρ διέρχομαι,

Phonetic (Greek): pros hymas de tychon ⸀parameno e ⸀kai paracheimaso, hina hymeis me propempsete ohy ean poreyomai.
Edified Edition (EDE)And it may be that I will stay, or even spend the winter with you, that you may send me on my journey, wherever I go.

πρὸς ὑμᾶς δὲ τυχὸν ⸀παραμενῶ ἢ ⸀καὶ παραχειμάσω, ἵνα ὑμεῖς με προπέμψητε οὗ ἐὰν πορεύωμαι.

Phonetic (Greek): oy thelo gar hymas arti en parodῳ idein, elpizo ⸀gar chronon tina epimeinai pros hymas, ean ho kyrios ⸀epitrepsῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For I do not wish to see you now on the way; but I hope to stay a while with you, if the Lord permits.

οὐ θέλω γὰρ ὑμᾶς ἄρτι ἐν παρόδῳ ἰδεῖν, ἐλπίζω ⸀γὰρ χρόνον τινὰ ἐπιμεῖναι πρὸς ὑμᾶς, ἐὰν ὁ κύριος ⸀ἐπιτρέψῃ.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀epimeno de en Ἐphesῳ heos tes pentekostes·
Edified Edition (EDE)But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost.

⸀ἐπιμενῶ δὲ ἐν Ἐφέσῳ ἕως τῆς πεντηκοστῆς·

Phonetic (Greek): thyra gar moi aneῳgen megale kai energes, kai antikeimenoi polloi.
Edified Edition (EDE)For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.

θύρα γάρ μοι ἀνέῳγεν μεγάλη καὶ ἐνεργής, καὶ ἀντικείμενοι πολλοί.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἐan de elthῃ Timotheos, blepete hina aphobos genetai pros hymas, to gar ergon kyriou ergazetai hos ⸀kago·
Edified Edition (EDE)And if Timothy comes, see that he may be with you without fear; for he does the work of the Lord, as I also do.

Ἐὰν δὲ ἔλθῃ Τιμόθεος, βλέπετε ἵνα ἀφόβως γένηται πρὸς ὑμᾶς, τὸ γὰρ ἔργον κυρίου ἐργάζεται ὡς ⸀κἀγώ·

Phonetic (Greek): me tis oyn ayton exouthenesῃ. propempsate de ayton en eirenῃ, hina elthῃ pros ⸀me, ekdechomai gar ayton meta ton adelphon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore let no one despise him. But send him on his journey in peace, that he may come to me; for I am waiting for him with the brothers.

μή τις οὖν αὐτὸν ἐξουθενήσῃ. προπέμψατε δὲ αὐτὸν ἐν εἰρήνῃ, ἵνα ἔλθῃ πρός ⸀με, ἐκδέχομαι γὰρ αὐτὸν μετὰ τῶν ἀδελφῶν.

Phonetic (Greek): Peri de Ἀpollo toy adelphoy, polla parekalesa ayton hina elthῃ pros hymas meta ton adelphon· kai pantos oyk en thelema hina nyn elthῃ, eleysetai de hotan eykairesῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly urged him to come to you with the brothers, but it was at all not his will to come now; however, he will come when he has a convenient time.

Περὶ δὲ Ἀπολλῶ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ, πολλὰ παρεκάλεσα αὐτὸν ἵνα ἔλθῃ πρὸς ὑμᾶς μετὰ τῶν ἀδελφῶν· καὶ πάντως οὐκ ἦν θέλημα ἵνα νῦν ἔλθῃ, ἐλεύσεται δὲ ὅταν εὐκαιρήσῃ.

Phonetic (Greek): Gregoreite, stekete en tῇ pistei, andrizesthe, krataioysthe.
Edified Edition (EDE)Watch, stand fast in the faith, be brave, be strong.

Γρηγορεῖτε, στήκετε ἐν τῇ πίστει, ἀνδρίζεσθε, κραταιοῦσθε.

Phonetic (Greek): panta hymon en agapῃ ginestho.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let all that you do be done with love.

πάντα ὑμῶν ἐν ἀγάπῃ γινέσθω.

Phonetic (Greek): Parakalo de hymas, adelphoi· oidate ten oikian Stephana, hoti estin aparche tes Ἀchaias kai eis diakonian tois hagiois etaxan heautoys·
Edified Edition (EDE)I urge you, brothers, you know the household of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to the ministry of the saints,

Παρακαλῶ δὲ ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί· οἴδατε τὴν οἰκίαν Στεφανᾶ, ὅτι ἐστὶν ἀπαρχὴ τῆς Ἀχαΐας καὶ εἰς διακονίαν τοῖς ἁγίοις ἔταξαν ἑαυτούς·

Phonetic (Greek): hina kai hymeis hypotassesthe tois toioytois kai panti tῷ synergoynti kai kopionti.
Edified Edition (EDE)that you also submit to such, and to everyone who works and labours with us.

ἵνα καὶ ὑμεῖς ὑποτάσσησθε τοῖς τοιούτοις καὶ παντὶ τῷ συνεργοῦντι καὶ κοπιῶντι.

Phonetic (Greek): chairo de epi tῇ parousiᾳ Stephana kai Phortounatou kai Ἀchaikoy, hoti to ⸀hymeteron hysterema ohytoi aneplerosan,
Edified Edition (EDE)I am glad about the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, for what was lacking on your part they supplied.

χαίρω δὲ ἐπὶ τῇ παρουσίᾳ Στεφανᾶ καὶ Φορτουνάτου καὶ Ἀχαϊκοῦ, ὅτι τὸ ⸀ὑμέτερον ὑστέρημα οὗτοι ἀνεπλήρωσαν,

Phonetic (Greek): anepausan gar to emon pneyma kai to hymon. epiginoskete oyn toys toioytous.
Edified Edition (EDE)For they refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore recognise such men.

ἀνέπαυσαν γὰρ τὸ ἐμὸν πνεῦμα καὶ τὸ ὑμῶν. ἐπιγινώσκετε οὖν τοὺς τοιούτους.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἀspazontai hymas ahi ekklesiai tes Ἀsias. ⸀aspazetai hymas en kyriῳ polla Ἀkylas kai ⸀Priska syn tῇ katʼ oikon ayton ekklesiᾳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Priscilla greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.

Ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς αἱ ἐκκλησίαι τῆς Ἀσίας. ⸀ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς ἐν κυρίῳ πολλὰ Ἀκύλας καὶ ⸀Πρίσκα σὺν τῇ κατʼ οἶκον αὐτῶν ἐκκλησίᾳ.

Phonetic (Greek): aspazontai hymas ohi adelphoi pantes. aspasasthe allelous en philemati hagiῳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)All the brothers greet you. Greet one another with a holy kiss.

ἀσπάζονται ὑμᾶς οἱ ἀδελφοὶ πάντες. ἀσπάσασθε ἀλλήλους ἐν φιλήματι ἁγίῳ.

Ὁ ἀσπασμὸς τῇ ἐμῇ χειρὶ Παύλου.

Phonetic (Greek): ei tis oy philei ton ⸀kyrion, eto anathema. ⸂Marana tha⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)If anyone does not love the Lord Jesus Christ, let him be accursed. O Lord, come!

εἴ τις οὐ φιλεῖ τὸν ⸀κύριον, ἤτω ἀνάθεμα. ⸂Μαράνα θά⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): he charis toy kyriou ⸀Ἰesoy methʼ hymon.
Edified Edition (EDE)The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.

ἡ χάρις τοῦ κυρίου ⸀Ἰησοῦ μεθʼ ὑμῶν.

Phonetic (Greek): he agape mou meta panton hymon en Christῷ ⸀Ἰesoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)My love be with you all in Christ Jesus. Amen.

ἡ ἀγάπη μου μετὰ πάντων ὑμῶν ἐν Χριστῷ ⸀Ἰησοῦ.
