1 Corinthians

Chapter 5
1
Phonetic (Greek): Ὅlos akoyetai en hymin porneia, kai toiayte porneia hetis oyde en tois ⸀ethnesin, hoste gynaika tina toy patros echein.
Edified Edition (EDE)It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality as is not even named among the Gentiles, that a man has his father’s wife!

2
Phonetic (Greek): kai hymeis pephysiomenoi este, kai oychi mallon epenthesate, hina ⸀arthῇ ek mesou hymon ho to ergon toyto ⸀poiesas;
Edified Edition (EDE)And you are puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away from among you.

καὶ ὑμεῖς πεφυσιωμένοι ἐστέ, καὶ οὐχὶ μᾶλλον ἐπενθήσατε, ἵνα ⸀ἀρθῇ ἐκ μέσου ὑμῶν ὁ τὸ ἔργον τοῦτο ⸀ποιήσας;

3
Phonetic (Greek): Ἐgo men gar, ⸀apon tῷ somati paron de tῷ pneymati, ede kekrika hos paron ton ohytos toyto katergasamenon
Edified Edition (EDE)For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged (as though I were present) him who has so done this deed.

4
Phonetic (Greek): en tῷ onomati toy kyriou hemon ⸀Ἰesoy, synachthenton hymon kai toy emoy pneymatos syn tῇ dynamei toy kyriou hemon ⸁Ἰesoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

5
Phonetic (Greek): paradoynai ton toioyton tῷ Satanᾷ eis olethron tes sarkos, hina to pneyma sothῇ en tῇ hemerᾳ toy ⸀kyriou.
Edified Edition (EDE)deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

6
Phonetic (Greek): Oy kalon to kaychema hymon. oyk oidate hoti mikra zyme holon to phyrama zymoi;
Edified Edition (EDE)Your glorying is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven leavens the whole lump?

Οὐ καλὸν τὸ καύχημα ὑμῶν. οὐκ οἴδατε ὅτι μικρὰ ζύμη ὅλον τὸ φύραμα ζυμοῖ;

7
Phonetic (Greek): ekkatharate ten palaian zymen, hina ete neon phyrama, kathos este azymoi. kai gar to pascha ⸀hemon etythe Christos·
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore purge out the old leaven, that you may be a new lump, since you truly are unleavened. For indeed Christ, our Passover, was sacrificed for us.

8
Phonetic (Greek): hoste heortazomen, me en zymῃ palaiᾷ mede en zymῃ kakias kai ponerias, allʼ en azymois eilikrineias kai aletheias.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

9
Phonetic (Greek): Ἔgrapsa hymin en tῇ epistolῇ me synanamignysthai pornois,
Edified Edition (EDE)I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people.

10
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀oy pantos tois pornois toy kosmou toytou e tois pleonektais ⸀kai harpaxin e eidololatrais, epei ⸀opheilete ara ek toy kosmou exelthein.
Edified Edition (EDE)Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.

11
Phonetic (Greek): nyn de egrapsa hymin me synanamignysthai ean tis adelphos onomazomenos e pornos e pleonektes e eidololatres e loidoros e methysos e harpax, tῷ toioytῳ mede synesthiein.
Edified Edition (EDE)But now I have written to you not to keep company with anyone named a brother, who is sexually immoral, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or an extortioner, not even to eat with such a person.

12
Phonetic (Greek): ti gar ⸀moi toys exo krinein; oychi toys eso hymeis krinete,
Edified Edition (EDE)For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are inside?

13
Phonetic (Greek): toys de exo ho theos ⸀krinei; ⸀exarate ton poneron ex hymon ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)But those who are outside God judges. Therefore "put away from yourselves the evil person."
