1 Corinthians

Chapter 6
1
Phonetic (Greek): Tolmᾷ tis hymon pragma echon pros ton heteron krinesthai epi ton adikon, kai oychi epi ton hagion;
Edified Edition (EDE)Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unrighteous, and not before the saints?

Τολμᾷ τις ὑμῶν πρᾶγμα ἔχων πρὸς τὸν ἕτερον κρίνεσθαι ἐπὶ τῶν ἀδίκων, καὶ οὐχὶ ἐπὶ τῶν ἁγίων;

2
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀e oyk oidate hoti ohi hagioi ton kosmon krinoysin; kai ei en hymin krinetai ho kosmos, anaxioi este kriterion elachiston;
Edified Edition (EDE)Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

⸀ἢ οὐκ οἴδατε ὅτι οἱ ἅγιοι τὸν κόσμον κρινοῦσιν; καὶ εἰ ἐν ὑμῖν κρίνεται ὁ κόσμος, ἀνάξιοί ἐστε κριτηρίων ἐλαχίστων;

3
Phonetic (Greek): oyk oidate hoti angelous krinoymen, metige biotika;
Edified Edition (EDE)Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?

οὐκ οἴδατε ὅτι ἀγγέλους κρινοῦμεν, μήτιγε βιωτικά;

4
Phonetic (Greek): biotika men oyn kriteria ean echete, toys exouthenemenous en tῇ ekklesiᾳ, toytous kathizete;
Edified Edition (EDE)If then you have judgements concerning things pertaining to this life, do you appoint those who are least esteemed by the church to judge?

βιωτικὰ μὲν οὖν κριτήρια ἐὰν ἔχητε, τοὺς ἐξουθενημένους ἐν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ, τούτους καθίζετε;

5
Phonetic (Greek): pros entropen hymin lego. ohytos oyk eni en hymin ⸂oydeis sophos⸃ hos dynesetai diakrinai ana meson toy ⸀adelphoy aytoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)I say this to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you, not even one, who will be able to judge between his brothers?

6
Phonetic (Greek): alla adelphos meta adelphoy krinetai, kai toyto epi apiston;
Edified Edition (EDE)But brother goes to law against brother, and that before unbelievers!

ἀλλὰ ἀδελφὸς μετὰ ἀδελφοῦ κρίνεται, καὶ τοῦτο ἐπὶ ἀπίστων;

7
Phonetic (Greek): ede men ⸀oyn holos hettema hymin estin hoti krimata echete methʼ heauton· dia ti oychi mallon adikeisthe; dia ti oychi mallon apostereisthe;
Edified Edition (EDE)Now therefore, it is already an utter failure for you that you go to law against one another. Why do you not rather accept wrong? Why do you not rather let yourselves be cheated?

ἤδη μὲν ⸀οὖν ὅλως ἥττημα ὑμῖν ἐστιν ὅτι κρίματα ἔχετε μεθʼ ἑαυτῶν· διὰ τί οὐχὶ μᾶλλον ἀδικεῖσθε; διὰ τί οὐχὶ μᾶλλον ἀποστερεῖσθε;

8
Phonetic (Greek): alla hymeis adikeite kai apostereite, kai ⸀toyto adelphoys.
Edified Edition (EDE)No, you yourselves do wrong and cheat, and you do these things to your brothers!

9
Phonetic (Greek): Ἢ oyk oidate hoti adikoi ⸂theoy basileian⸃ oy kleronomesousin; me planasthe· oyte pornoi oyte eidololatrai oyte moichoi oyte malakoi oyte arsenokoitai
Edified Edition (EDE)Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,

10
Phonetic (Greek): oyte ⸂kleptai oyte pleonektai⸃, ⸀oy methysoi, oy loidoroi, oych harpages basileian ⸀theoy kleronomesousin.
Edified Edition (EDE)nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

11
Phonetic (Greek): kai tayta tines ete· alla apeloysasthe, alla hegiasthete, alla edikaiothete en tῷ onomati toy kyriou ⸀Ἰesoy kai en tῷ pneymati toy theoy hemon.
Edified Edition (EDE)And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

12
Phonetic (Greek): Panta moi exestin· allʼ oy panta sympherei. panta moi exestin· allʼ oyk ego exousiasthesomai hypo tinos.
Edified Edition (EDE)All things are lawful for me, but all things are not helpful. All things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

13
Phonetic (Greek): ta bromata tῇ koiliᾳ, kai he koilia tois bromasin· ho de theos kai tayten kai tayta katargesei. to de soma oy tῇ porneiᾳ alla tῷ kyriῳ, kai ho kyrios tῷ somati·
Edified Edition (EDE)Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body.

14
Phonetic (Greek): ho de theos kai ton kyrion egeiren kai hemas exegerei dia tes dynameos aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And God both raised up the Lord and will also raise us up by His power.

15
Phonetic (Greek): oyk oidate hoti ta somata hymon mele Christoy estin; aras oyn ta mele toy Christoy poieso pornes mele; me genoito.
Edified Edition (EDE)Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not!

16
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀e oyk oidate hoti ho kollomenos tῇ pornῃ hen soma estin; Ἔsontai gar, phesin, ohi dyo eis sarka mian.
Edified Edition (EDE)Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For "the two," He says, "shall become one flesh."

17
Phonetic (Greek): ho de kollomenos tῷ kyriῳ hen pneyma estin.
Edified Edition (EDE)But he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

18
Phonetic (Greek): pheygete ten porneian· pan hamartema ho ean poiesῃ anthropos ektos toy somatos estin, ho de porneyon eis to idion soma hamartanei.
Edified Edition (EDE)Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

19
Phonetic (Greek): e oyk oidate hoti to soma hymon naos toy en hymin hagiou pneymatos estin, ohy echete apo theoy; kai oyk este heauton,
Edified Edition (EDE)Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?

Edified Edition (EDE)For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
