Phonetic (Greek): To de pneyma ῥetos legei hoti en hysterois kairois apostesontai tines tes pisteos, prosechontes pneymasi planois kai didaskaliais daimonion
Edified Edition (EDE)Now the Spirit expressly says that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons;

Τὸ δὲ πνεῦμα ῥητῶς λέγει ὅτι ἐν ὑστέροις καιροῖς ἀποστήσονταί τινες τῆς πίστεως, προσέχοντες πνεύμασι πλάνοις καὶ διδασκαλίαις δαιμονίων

Phonetic (Greek): en hypokrisei pseudologon, kekausteriasmenon ten idian syneidesin,
Edified Edition (EDE)Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron;

ἐν ὑποκρίσει ψευδολόγων, κεκαυστηριασμένων τὴν ἰδίαν συνείδησιν,

Phonetic (Greek): kolyonton gamein, apechesthai bromaton ha ho theos ektisen eis metalempsin meta eycharistias tois pistois kai epegnokosi ten aletheian.
Edified Edition (EDE)Forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from foods which God has created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth.

κωλυόντων γαμεῖν, ἀπέχεσθαι βρωμάτων ἃ ὁ θεὸς ἔκτισεν εἰς μετάλημψιν μετὰ εὐχαριστίας τοῖς πιστοῖς καὶ ἐπεγνωκόσι τὴν ἀλήθειαν.

Phonetic (Greek): hoti pan ktisma theoy kalon, kai oyden apobleton meta eycharistias lambanomenon,
Edified Edition (EDE)For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving;

ὅτι πᾶν κτίσμα θεοῦ καλόν, καὶ οὐδὲν ἀπόβλητον μετὰ εὐχαριστίας λαμβανόμενον,

Phonetic (Greek): hagiazetai gar dia logou theoy kai enteyxeos.
Edified Edition (EDE)For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

ἁγιάζεται γὰρ διὰ λόγου θεοῦ καὶ ἐντεύξεως.

Phonetic (Greek): Tayta hypotithemenos tois adelphois kalos esῃ diakonos ⸂Christoy Ἰesoy⸃, entrephomenos tois logois tes pisteos kai tes kales didaskalias he parekoloythekas,
Edified Edition (EDE)If you put the brothers in remembrance of these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of good doctrine which you have followed.

Ταῦτα ὑποτιθέμενος τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καλὸς ἔσῃ διάκονος ⸂Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ⸃, ἐντρεφόμενος τοῖς λόγοις τῆς πίστεως καὶ τῆς καλῆς διδασκαλίας ᾗ παρηκολούθηκας,

Phonetic (Greek): toys de bebelous kai graodeis mythous paraitoy. gymnaze de seauton pros eysebeian·
Edified Edition (EDE)But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise yourself rather toward godliness.

τοὺς δὲ βεβήλους καὶ γραώδεις μύθους παραιτοῦ. γύμναζε δὲ σεαυτὸν πρὸς εὐσέβειαν·

Phonetic (Greek): he gar somatike gymnasia pros oligon estin ophelimos, he de eysebeia pros panta ophelimos estin, epangelian echousa zoes tes nyn kai tes melloyses.
Edified Edition (EDE)For bodily exercise profits a little, but godliness is profitable for all things, having the promise of the life that now is and of that which is to come.

ἡ γὰρ σωματικὴ γυμνασία πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶν ὠφέλιμος, ἡ δὲ εὐσέβεια πρὸς πάντα ὠφέλιμός ἐστιν, ἐπαγγελίαν ἔχουσα ζωῆς τῆς νῦν καὶ τῆς μελλούσης.

Phonetic (Greek): pistos ho logos kai pases apodoches axios,
Edified Edition (EDE)This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance.

πιστὸς ὁ λόγος καὶ πάσης ἀποδοχῆς ἄξιος,

Phonetic (Greek): eis toyto ⸀gar kopiomen kai ⸀oneidizometha, hoti elpikamen epi theῷ zonti, hos estin soter panton anthropon, malista piston.
Edified Edition (EDE)For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all people, especially of those who believe.

εἰς τοῦτο ⸀γὰρ κοπιῶμεν καὶ ⸀ὀνειδιζόμεθα, ὅτι ἠλπίκαμεν ἐπὶ θεῷ ζῶντι, ὅς ἐστιν σωτὴρ πάντων ἀνθρώπων, μάλιστα πιστῶν.

Phonetic (Greek): Parangelle tayta kai didaske.
Edified Edition (EDE)These things command and teach.

Παράγγελλε ταῦτα καὶ δίδασκε.

Phonetic (Greek): medeis sou tes neotetos kataphroneito, alla typos ginou ton piston en logῳ, en anastrophῇ, en ⸀agapῃ, en pistei, en hagneiᾳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let no one despise your youth, but be an example to the believers in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

μηδείς σου τῆς νεότητος καταφρονείτω, ἀλλὰ τύπος γίνου τῶν πιστῶν ἐν λόγῳ, ἐν ἀναστροφῇ, ἐν ⸀ἀγάπῃ, ἐν πίστει, ἐν ἁγνείᾳ.

Phonetic (Greek): heos erchomai proseche tῇ anagnosei, tῇ paraklesei, tῇ didaskaliᾳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Till I come, give attention to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

ἕως ἔρχομαι πρόσεχε τῇ ἀναγνώσει, τῇ παρακλήσει, τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ.

Phonetic (Greek): me amelei toy en soi charismatos, ho edothe soi dia propheteias meta epitheseos ton cheiron toy presbyteriou.
Edified Edition (EDE)Neglect not the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the elders.

μὴ ἀμέλει τοῦ ἐν σοὶ χαρίσματος, ὃ ἐδόθη σοι διὰ προφητείας μετὰ ἐπιθέσεως τῶν χειρῶν τοῦ πρεσβυτερίου.

Phonetic (Greek): tayta meleta, en toytois isthi, hina sou he prokope phanera ⸀e pasin·
Edified Edition (EDE)Meditate upon these things; give yourself wholly to them, that your progress may appear to all.

ταῦτα μελέτα, ἐν τούτοις ἴσθι, ἵνα σου ἡ προκοπὴ φανερὰ ⸀ᾖ πᾶσιν·

Phonetic (Greek): epeche seautῷ kai tῇ didaskaliᾳ· epimene aytois· toyto gar poion kai seauton soseis kai toys akoyontas sou.
Edified Edition (EDE)Take heed to yourself and to the doctrine; continue in them, for in doing this you will save both yourself and those who hear you.

ἔπεχε σεαυτῷ καὶ τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ· ἐπίμενε αὐτοῖς· τοῦτο γὰρ ποιῶν καὶ σεαυτὸν σώσεις καὶ τοὺς ἀκούοντάς σου.
