2 Corinthians

Chapter 4
1
Phonetic (Greek): Dia toyto, echontes ten diakonian tayten kathos eleethemen, oyk ⸀enkakoymen,
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, since we have this ministry, as we have received mercy, we do not lose heart.

2
Phonetic (Greek): alla apeipametha ta krypta tes aischynes, me peripatoyntes en panourgiᾳ mede doloyntes ton logon toy theoy, alla tῇ phanerosei tes aletheias ⸀synistanontes heautoys pros pasan syneidesin anthropon enopion toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness nor handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God.

3
Phonetic (Greek): ei de kai estin kekalymmenon to eyangelion hemon, en tois apollymenois estin kekalymmenon,
Edified Edition (EDE)But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing,

4
Phonetic (Greek): en ohis ho theos toy aionos toytou etyphlosen ta noemata ton apiston eis to me ⸀aygasai ton photismon toy eyangeliou tes doxes toy Christoy, hos estin eikon toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

5
Phonetic (Greek): oy gar heautoys keryssomen alla ⸂Christon Ἰesoyn⸃ kyrion, heautoys de doylous hymon dia Ἰesoyn.
Edified Edition (EDE)For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.

6
Phonetic (Greek): hoti ho theos ho eipon· Ἐk skotous phos ⸀lampsei, hos elampsen en tais kardiais hemon pros photismon tes gnoseos tes doxes toy theoy en prosopῳ ⸀Christoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)For it is the God who commanded light to shine out of darkness, who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.

7
Phonetic (Greek): Ἔchomen de ton thesauron toyton en ostrakinois skeyesin, hina he hyperbole tes dynameos e toy theoy kai me ex hemon·
Edified Edition (EDE)But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

8
Phonetic (Greek): en panti thlibomenoi allʼ oy stenochoroymenoi, aporoymenoi allʼ oyk exaporoymenoi,
Edified Edition (EDE)We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;

9
Phonetic (Greek): diokomenoi allʼ oyk enkataleipomenoi, kataballomenoi allʼ oyk apollymenoi,
Edified Edition (EDE)persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed,

10
Phonetic (Greek): pantote ten nekrosin ⸀toy Ἰesoy en tῷ somati peripherontes, hina kai he zoe toy Ἰesoy en tῷ somati hemon phanerothῇ·
Edified Edition (EDE)always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.

11
Phonetic (Greek): aei gar hemeis ohi zontes eis thanaton paradidometha dia Ἰesoyn, hina kai he zoe toy Ἰesoy phanerothῇ en tῇ thnetῇ sarki hemon.
Edified Edition (EDE)For we who live are always delivered to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh.

Edified Edition (EDE)So then death is working in us, but life in you.

13
Phonetic (Greek): Ἔchontes de to ayto pneyma tes pisteos, kata to gegrammenon· Ἐpisteusa, dio elalesa, kai hemeis pisteyomen, dio kai laloymen,
Edified Edition (EDE)And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak,

14
Phonetic (Greek): eidotes hoti ho egeiras ⸀ton Ἰesoyn kai hemas ⸀syn Ἰesoy egerei kai parastesei syn hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)knowing that He who raised up the Lord Jesus will also raise us up with Jesus, and will present us with you.

15
Phonetic (Greek): ta gar panta diʼ hymas, hina he charis pleonasasa dia ton pleionon ten eycharistian perisseysῃ eis ten doxan toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)For all things are for your sakes, that grace, having spread through the many, may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

16
Phonetic (Greek): Dio oyk ⸀enkakoymen, allʼ ei kai ho exo hemon anthropos diaphtheiretai, allʼ ho ⸂eso hemon⸃ anakainoytai hemerᾳ kai hemerᾳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.

17
Phonetic (Greek): to gar parautika elaphron tes thlipseos ⸀hemon kathʼ hyperbolen eis hyperbolen aionion baros doxes katergazetai hemin,
Edified Edition (EDE)For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory,

18
Phonetic (Greek): me skopoynton hemon ta blepomena alla ta me blepomena, ta gar blepomena proskaira, ta de me blepomena aionia.
Edified Edition (EDE)while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
