2 Corinthians

Chapter 5
1
Phonetic (Greek): Oidamen gar hoti ean he epigeios hemon oikia toy skenous katalythῇ, oikodomen ek theoy echomen oikian acheiropoieton aionion en tois oyranois.
Edified Edition (EDE)For we know that if our earthly house, this tent, is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

2
Phonetic (Greek): kai gar en toytῳ stenazomen, to oiketerion hemon to ex oyranoy ependysasthai epipothoyntes,
Edified Edition (EDE)For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven,

3
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂ei ge⸃ kai ⸀endysamenoi oy gymnoi ehyrethesometha.
Edified Edition (EDE)if indeed, having been clothed, we shall not be found naked.

4
Phonetic (Greek): kai gar ohi ontes en tῷ skenei stenazomen baroymenoi ephʼ ho oy thelomen ekdysasthai allʼ ependysasthai, hina katapothῇ to thneton hypo tes zoes.
Edified Edition (EDE)For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.

5
Phonetic (Greek): ho de katergasamenos hemas eis ayto toyto theos, ⸀ho doys hemin ton arrabona toy pneymatos.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

6
Phonetic (Greek): Tharroyntes oyn pantote kai eidotes hoti endemoyntes en tῷ somati ekdemoymen apo toy kyriou,
Edified Edition (EDE)So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord.

7
Phonetic (Greek): dia pisteos gar peripatoymen, oy dia eidous—
Edified Edition (EDE)For we walk by faith, not by sight.

8
Phonetic (Greek): tharroymen de kai eydokoymen mallon ekdemesai ek toy somatos kai endemesai pros ton kyrion·
Edified Edition (EDE)We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be present with the Lord.

9
Phonetic (Greek): dio kai philotimoymetha, eite endemoyntes eite ekdemoyntes, eyarestoi aytῷ einai.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.

10
Phonetic (Greek): toys gar pantas hemas phanerothenai dei emprosthen toy bematos toy Christoy, hina komisetai hekastos ta dia toy somatos pros ha epraxen, eite agathon eite ⸀phaylon.
Edified Edition (EDE)For we must all appear before the judgement seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.

11
Phonetic (Greek): Eidotes oyn ton phobon toy kyriou anthropous peithomen, theῷ de pephanerometha· elpizo de kai en tais syneidesesin hymon pephanerosthai.
Edified Edition (EDE)Knowing, therefore, the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are well known to God, and I also trust are well known in your consciences.

12
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀oy palin heautoys synistanomen hymin, alla aphormen didontes hymin kauchematos hyper hemon, hina echete pros toys en prosopῳ kauchomenous kai ⸂me en⸃ kardiᾳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For we do not commend ourselves again to you, but give you opportunity to boast on our behalf, that you may have an answer for those who boast in appearance and not in heart.

13
Phonetic (Greek): eite gar exestemen, theῷ· eite sophronoymen, hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; or if we are of sound mind, it is for you.

14
Phonetic (Greek): he gar agape toy Christoy synechei hemas, krinantas toyto ⸀hoti ehis hyper panton apethanen· ara ohi pantes apethanon·
Edified Edition (EDE)For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died;

15
Phonetic (Greek): kai hyper panton apethanen hina ohi zontes meketi heautois zosin alla tῷ hyper ayton apothanonti kai egerthenti.
Edified Edition (EDE)and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

16
Phonetic (Greek): Ὥste hemeis apo toy nyn oydena oidamen kata sarka· ⸀ei kai egnokamen kata sarka Christon, alla nyn oyketi ginoskomen.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer.

17
Phonetic (Greek): hoste ei tis en Christῷ, kaine ktisis· ta archaia parelthen, idoy gegonen ⸀kaina·
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.

18
Phonetic (Greek): ta de panta ek toy theoy toy katallaxantos hemas heautῷ ⸀dia Christoy kai dontos hemin ten diakonian tes katallages,
Edified Edition (EDE)Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

19
Phonetic (Greek): hos hoti theos en en Christῷ kosmon katallasson heautῷ, me logizomenos aytois ta paraptomata ayton, kai themenos en hemin ton logon tes katallages.
Edified Edition (EDE)that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

20
Phonetic (Greek): hyper Christoy oyn presbeyomen hos toy theoy parakaloyntos diʼ hemon· deometha hyper Christoy, katallagete tῷ theῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.

21
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀ton me gnonta hamartian hyper hemon hamartian epoiesen, hina hemeis genometha dikaiosyne theoy en aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
