2 Corinthians

Chapter 7
1
Phonetic (Greek): taytas oyn echontes tas epangelias, agapetoi, katharisomen heautoys apo pantos molysmoy sarkos kai pneymatos, epiteloyntes hagiosynen en phobῳ theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2
Phonetic (Greek): Choresate hemas· oydena edikesamen, oydena ephtheiramen, oydena epleonektesamen.
Edified Edition (EDE)Open your hearts to us. We have wronged no one, we have corrupted no one, we have cheated no one.

3
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂pros katakrisin oy⸃ lego, proeireka gar hoti en tais kardiais hemon este eis to synapothanein kai syzen.
Edified Edition (EDE)I do not say this to condemn; for I have said before that you are in our hearts, to die together and to live together.

4
Phonetic (Greek): polle moi parresia pros hymas, polle moi kaychesis hyper hymon· pepleromai tῇ paraklesei, hyperperisseyomai tῇ charᾷ epi pasῃ tῇ thlipsei hemon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my boasting on your behalf. I am filled with comfort. I am exceedingly joyful in all our tribulation.

5
Phonetic (Greek): Kai gar elthonton hemon eis Makedonian oydemian ⸀escheken anesin he sarx hemon, allʼ en panti thlibomenoi— exothen machai, esothen phoboi—
Edified Edition (EDE)For indeed, when we came to Macedonia, our bodies had no rest, but we were troubled on every side. Outside were conflicts, inside were fears.

6
Phonetic (Greek): allʼ ho parakalon toys tapeinoys parekalesen hemas ho theos en tῇ parousiᾳ Titou·
Edified Edition (EDE)Nevertheless God, who comforts the downcast, comforted us by the coming of Titus,

7
Phonetic (Greek): oy monon de en tῇ parousiᾳ aytoy, alla kai en tῇ paraklesei he pareklethe ephʼ hymin, anangellon hemin ten hymon epipothesin, ton hymon odyrmon, ton hymon zelon hyper emoy, hoste me mallon charenai.
Edified Edition (EDE)and not only by his coming, but also by the consolation with which he was comforted in you, when he told us of your earnest desire, your mourning, your zeal for me, so that I rejoiced even more.

8
Phonetic (Greek): hoti ei kai elypesa hymas en tῇ epistolῇ, oy metamelomai· ei kai metemelomen (⸀blepo hoti he epistole ekeine ei kai pros horan elypesen hymas),
Edified Edition (EDE)For even if I made you sorry with my letter, I do not regret it; though I did regret it. For I perceive that the same epistle made you sorry, though only for a while.

9
Phonetic (Greek): nyn chairo, oych hoti elypethete, allʼ hoti elypethete eis metanoian, elypethete gar kata theon, hina en medeni zemiothete ex hemon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now I rejoice, not that you were made sorry, but that your sorrow led to repentance. For you were made sorry in a godly manner, that you might suffer loss from us in nothing.

10
Phonetic (Greek): he gar kata theon lype metanoian eis soterian ametameleton ⸀ergazetai· he de toy kosmou lype thanaton katergazetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.

11
Phonetic (Greek): idoy gar ayto toyto to kata theon ⸀lypethenai posen kateirgasato hymin spouden, alla apologian, alla aganaktesin, alla phobon, alla epipothesin, alla zelon, alla ekdikesin· en panti synestesate heautoys hagnoys ⸀einai tῷ pragmati.
Edified Edition (EDE)For observe this very thing, that you sorrowed in a godly manner: what diligence it produced in you, what clearing of yourselves, what indignation, what fear, what vehement desire, what zeal, what vindication! In all things you proved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

12
Phonetic (Greek): ara ei kai egrapsa hymin, oych ⸀heneken toy adikesantos, ⸀oyde ⸁heneken toy adikethentos, allʼ ⸀1heneken toy phanerothenai ten spouden hymon ten hyper hemon pros hymas enopion toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, although I wrote to you, I did not do it for the sake of him who had done the wrong, nor for the sake of him who suffered wrong, but that our care for you in the sight of God might appear to you.

13
Phonetic (Greek): dia toyto parakeklemetha. Ἐpi de tῇ paraklesei ⸀hemon perissoteros mallon echaremen epi tῇ charᾷ Titou, hoti anapepautai to pneyma aytoy apo panton hymon·
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore we have been comforted in your comfort. And we rejoiced exceedingly more for the joy of Titus, because his spirit has been refreshed by you all.

14
Phonetic (Greek): hoti ei ti aytῷ hyper hymon kekaychemai, oy katῃschynthen, allʼ hos panta en aletheiᾳ elalesamen hymin, ohytos kai he kaychesis hemon ⸀he epi Titou aletheia egenethe.
Edified Edition (EDE)For if in anything I have boasted to him about you, I am not ashamed; but as we spoke all things to you in truth, even so our boasting to Titus was found true.

15
Phonetic (Greek): kai ta splanchna aytoy perissoteros eis hymas estin anamimnῃskomenou ten panton hymon hypakoen, hos meta phobou kai tromou edexasthe ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)And his affection for you is far greater as he remembers the obedience of you all, how with fear and trembling you received him.

16
Phonetic (Greek): chairo hoti en panti tharro en hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore I rejoice that I have confidence in you in everything.
