2 Corinthians

Chapter 9
1
Phonetic (Greek): Peri men gar tes diakonias tes eis toys hagious perisson moi estin to graphein hymin,
Edified Edition (EDE)Now concerning the ministering to the saints, it is superfluous for me to write to you;

2
Phonetic (Greek): oida gar ten prothymian hymon hen hyper hymon kauchomai Makedosin hoti Ἀchaia pareskeyastai apo perysi, kai ⸀to hymon zelos erethise toys pleionas.
Edified Edition (EDE)for I know your willingness, about which I boast of you to the Macedonians, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal has stirred up the majority.

3
Phonetic (Greek): epempsa de toys adelphoys, hina me to kaychema hemon to hyper hymon kenothῇ en tῷ merei toytῳ, hina kathos elegon pareskeuasmenoi ete,
Edified Edition (EDE)Yet I have sent the brothers, lest our boasting of you should be in vain in this respect, that, as I said, you may be ready;

4
Phonetic (Greek): me pos ean elthosin syn emoi Makedones kai ehyrosin hymas aparaskeuastous kataischynthomen hemeis, hina me ⸀legomen hymeis, en tῇ hypostasei ⸀taytῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)lest if some Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we (not to mention you!) should be ashamed of this confident boasting.

5
Phonetic (Greek): anankaion oyn hegesamen parakalesai toys adelphoys hina proelthosin ⸀eis hymas kai prokatartisosi ten ⸀proepengelmenen eylogian hymon, tayten hetoimen einai ohytos hos eylogian kai me hos pleonexian.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to go to you ahead of time, and prepare your generous gift beforehand, which you had previously promised, that it may be ready as a matter of generosity and not as a grudging obligation.

6
Phonetic (Greek): Toyto de, ho speiron pheidomenos pheidomenos kai therisei, kai ho speiron epʼ eylogiais epʼ eylogiais kai therisei.
Edified Edition (EDE)But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.

7
Phonetic (Greek): hekastos kathos ⸀proῄretai tῇ kardiᾳ, me ek lypes e ex anankes· hilaron gar doten agapᾷ ho theos.
Edified Edition (EDE)So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

8
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀dynatei de ho theos pasan charin perisseysai eis hymas, hina en panti pantote pasan aytarkeian echontes perisseyete eis pan ergon agathon·
Edified Edition (EDE)And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work.

9
Phonetic (Greek): (kathos gegraptai· Ἐskorpisen, edoken tois penesin, he dikaiosyne aytoy menei eis ton aiona·
Edified Edition (EDE)As it is written: "He has dispersed abroad, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever."

10
Phonetic (Greek): ho de epichoregon ⸀sporon tῷ speironti kai arton eis brosin ⸀choregesei kai ⸀plethynei ton sporon hymon kai ⸀ayxesei ta genemata tes dikaiosynes hymon·)
Edified Edition (EDE)Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness,

11
Phonetic (Greek): en panti ploutizomenoi eis pasan haploteta, hetis katergazetai diʼ hemon eycharistian tῷ theῷ—
Edified Edition (EDE)while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which causes thanksgiving through us to God.

12
Phonetic (Greek): hoti he diakonia tes leitourgias taytes oy monon estin prosanapleroysa ta hysteremata ton hagion, alla kai perisseyousa dia pollon eycharistion tῷ theῷ—
Edified Edition (EDE)For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God,

13
Phonetic (Greek): dia tes dokimes tes diakonias taytes doxazontes ton theon epi tῇ hypotagῇ tes homologias hymon eis to eyangelion toy Christoy kai haploteti tes koinonias eis aytoys kai eis pantas,
Edified Edition (EDE)while, through the proof of this ministry, they glorify God for the obedience of your confession to the gospel of Christ, and for your liberal sharing with them and all men,

14
Phonetic (Greek): kai ayton deesei hyper hymon epipothoynton hymas dia ten hyperballousan charin toy theoy ephʼ hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)and by their prayer for you, who long for you because of the exceeding grace of God in you.

15
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀charis tῷ theῷ epi tῇ anekdiegetῳ aytoy doreᾷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
