2 Peter

Chapter 3
1
Phonetic (Greek): Tayten ede, agapetoi, deuteran hymin grapho epistolen, en ahis diegeiro hymon en hypomnesei ten eilikrine dianoian,
Edified Edition (EDE)This second letter, beloved, I now write to you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

2
Phonetic (Greek): mnesthenai ton proeiremenon ῥematon hypo ton hagion propheton kai tes ton apostolon hymon entoles toy kyriou kai soteros,
Edified Edition (EDE)That you may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

3
Phonetic (Greek): toyto proton ginoskontes hoti eleysontai epʼ ⸀eschaton ton hemeron ⸂en empaigmonῇ⸃ empaiktai kata tas idias epithymias ayton poreuomenoi
Edified Edition (EDE)Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

4
Phonetic (Greek): kai legontes· Poy estin he epangelia tes parousias aytoy; aphʼ hes gar ohi pateres ekoimethesan, panta ohytos diamenei apʼ arches ktiseos.
Edified Edition (EDE)And saying, "Where is the promise of His coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation."

5
Phonetic (Greek): lanthanei gar aytoys toyto thelontas hoti oyranoi esan ekpalai kai ge ex hydatos kai diʼ hydatos synestosa tῷ toy theoy logῳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

6
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂diʼ hon⸃ ho tote kosmos hydati kataklystheis apoleto·
Edified Edition (EDE)By which the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:

7
Phonetic (Greek): ohi de nyn oyranoi kai he ge tῷ ⸀aytῷ logῳ tethesaurismenoi eisin pyri teroymenoi eis hemeran kriseos kai apoleias ton asebon anthropon.
Edified Edition (EDE)But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved for fire against the day of judgement and perdition of ungodly people.

8
Phonetic (Greek): Ἓn de toyto me lanthaneto hymas, agapetoi, hoti mia hemera para kyriῳ hos chilia ete kai chilia ete hos hemera mia.
Edified Edition (EDE)But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

9
Phonetic (Greek): oy bradynei ⸀kyrios tes epangelias, hos tines bradyteta hegoyntai, alla makrothymei eis ⸀hymas, me boulomenos tinas apolesthai alla pantas eis metanoian choresai.
Edified Edition (EDE)The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some people count slackness; but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

Edified Edition (EDE)But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

11
Phonetic (Greek): Toyton ⸀ohytos panton lyomenon potapoys dei hyparchein hymas en hagiais anastrophais kai eysebeiais,
Edified Edition (EDE)Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of people ought you to be in all holy conduct and godliness,

12
Phonetic (Greek): prosdokontas kai speydontas ten parousian tes toy theoy hemeras, diʼ hen oyranoi pyroymenoi lythesontai kai stoicheia kausoymena teketai·
Edified Edition (EDE)Looking for and hasting to the coming of the day of God, in which the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?

13
Phonetic (Greek): kainoys de oyranoys kai gen kainen kata to epangelma aytoy prosdokomen, en ohis dikaiosyne katoikei.
Edified Edition (EDE)Nevertheless we, according to His promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, in which dwells righteousness.

14
Phonetic (Greek): Dio, agapetoi, tayta prosdokontes spoudasate aspiloi kai amometoi aytῷ ehyrethenai en eirenῃ,
Edified Edition (EDE)Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you look for such things, be diligent that you may be found by Him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

15
Phonetic (Greek): kai ten toy kyriou hemon makrothymian soterian hegeisthe, kathos kai ho agapetos hemon adelphos Paylos kata ten ⸂dotheisan aytῷ⸃ sophian egrapsen hymin,
Edified Edition (EDE)And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given to him has written to you;

16
Phonetic (Greek): hos kai en pasais ⸀tais epistolais lalon en aytais peri toyton, en ⸀ahis estin dysnoeta tina, ha ohi amatheis kai asteriktoi ⸀strebloysin hos kai tas loipas graphas pros ten idian ayton apoleian.
Edified Edition (EDE)As also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which those who are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction.

17
Phonetic (Greek): hymeis oyn, agapetoi, proginoskontes phylassesthe hina me tῇ ton athesmon planῃ synapachthentes ekpesete toy idiou sterigmoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)You therefore, beloved, seeing you know these things before, beware lest you also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness.

18
Phonetic (Greek): ayxanete de en chariti kai gnosei toy kyriou hemon kai soteros Ἰesoy Christoy. aytῷ he doxa kai nyn kai eis hemeran aionos. ⸀amen.
Edified Edition (EDE)But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
