1
Phonetic (Greek): Ἤkousan de ohi apostoloi kai ohi adelphoi ohi ontes kata ten Ἰoudaian hoti kai ta ethne edexanto ton logon toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now the apostles and brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

2
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂hote de⸃ anebe Petros eis ⸀Ἰerousalem, diekrinonto pros ayton ohi ek peritomes
Edified Edition (EDE)And when Peter came up to Jerusalem, those of the circumcision contended with him,

3
Phonetic (Greek): legontes hoti ⸂Eiselthes pros andras akrobystian echontas kai synephages⸃ aytois.
Edified Edition (EDE)saying, "You went in to uncircumcised men and ate with them!"

4
Phonetic (Greek): arxamenos ⸀de Petros exetitheto aytois kathexes legon·
Edified Edition (EDE)But Peter explained it to them in order from the beginning, saying:

5
Phonetic (Greek): Ἐgo emen en polei Ἰoppῃ proseuchomenos kai eidon en ekstasei horama, katabainon skeyos ti hos othonen megalen tessarsin archais kathiemenen ek toy oyranoy, kai elthen achri emoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)"I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object descending like a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came to me.

6
Phonetic (Greek): eis hen atenisas katenooun kai eidon ta tetrapoda tes ges kai ta theria kai ta herpeta kai ta peteina toy oyranoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)When I observed it intently and considered, I saw four-footed animals of the earth, wild beasts, creeping things, and birds of the air.

7
Phonetic (Greek): ekousa de ⸀kai phones legoyses moi· Ἀnastas, Petre, thyson kai phage.
Edified Edition (EDE)And I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter; kill and eat.’

8
Phonetic (Greek): eipon de· Medamos, kyrie, ⸀hoti koinon e akatharton oydepote eiselthen eis to stoma mou.
Edified Edition (EDE)But I said, ‘Not so, Lord! For nothing common or unclean has at any time entered my mouth.’

9
Phonetic (Greek): apekrithe de ⸂phone ek deuterou⸃ ek toy oyranoy· Ἃ ho theos ekatharisen sy me koinou.
Edified Edition (EDE)But the voice answered me again from heaven, ‘What God has cleansed you must not call common.’

10
Phonetic (Greek): toyto de egeneto epi tris, kai ⸂anespasthe palin⸃ hapanta eis ton oyranon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now this was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.

11
Phonetic (Greek): kai idoy exautes treis andres epestesan epi ten oikian en he ⸀emen, apestalmenoi apo Kaisareias pros me.
Edified Edition (EDE)At that very moment, three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent to me from Caesarea.

12
Phonetic (Greek): eipen de ⸂to pneyma moi⸃ synelthein aytois meden ⸀diakrinanta. elthon de syn emoi kai ohi hex adelphoi ohytoi, kai eiselthomen eis ton oikon toy andros.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the Spirit told me to go with them, doubting nothing. Moreover these six brothers accompanied me, and we entered the man’s house.

13
Phonetic (Greek): apengeilen ⸀de hemin pos eiden ton angelon en tῷ oikῳ aytoy stathenta kai ⸀eiponta· Ἀposteilon eis ⸀Ἰoppen kai metapempsai Simona ton epikaloymenon Petron,
Edified Edition (EDE)And he told us how he had seen an angel standing in his house, who said to him, ‘Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon whose surname is Peter,

Edified Edition (EDE)who will tell you words by which you and all your household will be saved.’

15
Phonetic (Greek): en de tῷ arxasthai me lalein epepesen to pneyma to hagion epʼ aytoys hosper kai ephʼ hemas en archῇ.
Edified Edition (EDE)And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them, as upon us at the beginning.

Edified Edition (EDE)Then I remembered the word of the Lord, how He said, ‘John indeed baptised with water, but you shall be baptised with the Holy Spirit.’

17
Phonetic (Greek): ei oyn ten isen dorean edoken aytois ho theos hos kai hemin pisteysasin epi ton kyrion Ἰesoyn Christon, ⸀ego tis emen dynatos kolysai ton theon;
Edified Edition (EDE)If therefore God gave them the same gift as He gave us when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I that I could withstand God?"

εἰ οὖν τὴν ἴσην δωρεὰν ἔδωκεν αὐτοῖς ὁ θεὸς ὡς καὶ ἡμῖν πιστεύσασιν ἐπὶ τὸν κύριον Ἰησοῦν Χριστόν, ⸀ἐγὼ τίς ἤμην δυνατὸς κωλῦσαι τὸν θεόν;

18
Phonetic (Greek): akoysantes de tayta hesychasan kai ⸀edoxasan ton theon legontes· ⸀Ἄra kai tois ethnesin ho theos ten metanoian ⸂eis zoen edoken⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)When they heard these things they became silent; and they glorified God, saying, "Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life."

Phonetic (Greek): Ohi men oyn diasparentes apo tes thlipseos tes genomenes epi Stephanῳ dielthon heos Phoinikes kai Kyprou kai Ἀntiocheias medeni laloyntes ton logon ei me monon Ἰoudaiois.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now those who were scattered after the persecution that arose over Stephen travelled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to no one but the Jews only.

Edified Edition (EDE)But some of them were men from Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.

Edified Edition (EDE)And the hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.

22
Phonetic (Greek): ekoysthe de ho logos eis ta ota tes ekklesias tes ⸀oyses en ⸀Ἰerousalem peri ayton, kai exapesteilan ⸀Barnaban heos Ἀntiocheias·
Edified Edition (EDE)Then news of these things came to the ears of the church in Jerusalem, and they sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch.

23
Phonetic (Greek): hos paragenomenos kai idon ten charin ⸀ten toy theoy, echare kai parekalei pantas tῇ prothesei tes kardias ⸀prosmenein tῷ kyriῳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)When he came and had seen the grace of God, he was glad, and encouraged them all that with purpose of heart they should continue with the Lord.

24
Phonetic (Greek): hoti en aner agathos kai pleres pneymatos hagiou kai pisteos. kai prosetethe ochlos hikanos tῷ kyriῳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For he was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and of faith. And a great many people were added to the Lord.

25

Edified Edition (EDE)And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

27
Phonetic (Greek): Ἐn taytais de tais hemerais katelthon apo Ἱerosolymon prophetai eis Ἀntiocheian·
Edified Edition (EDE)And in these days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch.

Edified Edition (EDE)Then one of them, named Agabus, stood up and showed by the Spirit that there was going to be a great famine throughout all the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius Caesar.
