Chapter 25
1
Phonetic (Greek): Phestos oyn epibas tῇ eparcheiᾳ meta treis hemeras anebe eis Ἱerosolyma apo Kaisareias,
Edified Edition (EDE)Now when Festus had come to the province, after three days he went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem.

2
Phonetic (Greek): enephanisan ⸀te aytῷ ⸂ohi archiereis⸃ kai ohi protoi ton Ἰoudaion kata toy Paylou, kai parekaloun ayton
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the high priest and the chief men of the Jews informed him against Paul; and they petitioned him,

3
Phonetic (Greek): aitoymenoi charin katʼ aytoy hopos metapempsetai ayton eis Ἰerousalem, enedran poioyntes anelein ayton kata ten hodon.
Edified Edition (EDE)asking a favour against him, that he would have him brought to Jerusalem, while they lay in ambush along the road to kill him.

4
Phonetic (Greek): ho men oyn Phestos apekrithe tereisthai ton Paylon ⸂eis Kaisareian⸃, heauton de mellein en tachei ekporeyesthai·
Edified Edition (EDE)But Festus answered that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself was going there shortly.

5
Phonetic (Greek): Ohi oyn ⸂en hymin, phesin, dynatoi⸃ synkatabantes ei ti estin en tῷ andri ⸀atopon kategoreitosan aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)"Therefore," he said, "let those who have authority among you go down with me and accuse this man, if there is any fault in him."

6
Phonetic (Greek): Diatripsas de en aytois hemeras ⸂oy pleious okto⸃ e deka, katabas eis Kaisareian, tῇ epayrion kathisas epi toy bematos ekeleusen ton Paylon achthenai.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when he had stayed among them more than ten days, he went down to Caesarea. And the next day, sitting on the judgement seat, he commanded Paul to be brought.

7
Phonetic (Greek): paragenomenou de aytoy periestesan ⸀ayton ohi apo Ἱerosolymon katabebekotes Ἰoudaioi, polla kai barea aitiomata ⸀katapherontes ha oyk ischyon apodeixai,
Edified Edition (EDE)When he had come, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem stood around and laid many serious complaints against Paul, which they could not prove,

8
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂toy Paylou apologoumenou⸃ hoti Oyte eis ton nomon ton Ἰoudaion oyte eis to hieron oyte eis Kaisara ti hemarton.
Edified Edition (EDE)while he answered for himself, "Neither against the law of the Jews, nor against the temple, nor against Caesar have I offended in anything at all."

9
Phonetic (Greek): ho Phestos de ⸂thelon tois Ἰoudaiois⸃ charin katathesthai apokritheis tῷ Paylῳ eipen· Theleis eis Ἱerosolyma anabas ekei peri toyton ⸀krithenai epʼ emoy;
Edified Edition (EDE)But Festus, wanting to do the Jews a favour, answered Paul and said, "Are you willing to go up to Jerusalem and there be judged before me concerning these things?"

ὁ Φῆστος δὲ ⸂θέλων τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις⸃ χάριν καταθέσθαι ἀποκριθεὶς τῷ Παύλῳ εἶπεν· Θέλεις εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα ἀναβὰς ἐκεῖ περὶ τούτων ⸀κριθῆναι ἐπʼ ἐμοῦ;

10
Phonetic (Greek): eipen de ho Paylos· ⸂Ἐpi toy bematos Kaisaros hestos⸃ eimi, ohy me dei krinesthai. Ἰoudaious oyden ⸀edikesa, hos kai sy kallion epiginoskeis.
Edified Edition (EDE)So Paul said, "I stand at Caesar’s judgement seat, where I ought to be judged. To the Jews I have done no wrong, as you very well know.

11
Phonetic (Greek): ei men ⸀oyn adiko kai axion thanatou pepracha ti, oy paraitoymai to apothanein· ei de oyden estin hon ohytoi kategoroysin mou, oydeis me dynatai aytois charisasthai· Kaisara epikaloymai.
Edified Edition (EDE)For if I am an offender, or have committed anything deserving of death, I do not object to dying; but if there is nothing in these things of which these men accuse me, no one can deliver me to them. I appeal to Caesar."

12
Phonetic (Greek): tote ho Phestos syllalesas meta toy symbouliou apekrithe· Kaisara epikeklesai, epi Kaisara poreysῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, "You have appealed to Caesar? To Caesar you shall go!"

13
Phonetic (Greek): Ἡmeron de diagenomenon tinon Ἀgrippas ho basileys kai Bernike katentesan eis Kaisareian aspasamenoi ton Pheston.
Edified Edition (EDE)And after some days King Agrippa and Bernice came to Caesarea to greet Festus.

14
Phonetic (Greek): hos de pleious hemeras ⸀dietribon ekei, ho Phestos tῷ basilei anetheto ta kata ton Paylon legon· Ἀner tis estin kataleleimmenos hypo Phelikos desmios,
Edified Edition (EDE)When they had been there many days, Festus laid Paul’s case before the king, saying: "There is a certain man left a prisoner by Felix,

15
Phonetic (Greek): peri ohy genomenou mou eis Ἱerosolyma enephanisan ohi archiereis kai ohi presbyteroi ton Ἰoudaion, aitoymenoi katʼ aytoy ⸀katadiken·
Edified Edition (EDE)about whom the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me when I was in Jerusalem, asking for a judgement against him.

Edified Edition (EDE)To them I answered, ‘It is not the custom of the Romans to deliver any man to destruction before the accused meets the accusers face to face, and has opportunity to answer for himself concerning the charge against him.’

17
Phonetic (Greek): synelthonton ⸀oyn enthade anabolen medemian poiesamenos tῇ hexes kathisas epi toy bematos ekeleusa achthenai ton andra·
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore when they had come together, without any delay, the next day I sat on the judgement seat and commanded the man to be brought.

18
Phonetic (Greek): peri ohy stathentes ohi kategoroi oydemian aitian ⸀epheron hon ⸂ego hypenooun⸃ ⸀poneron,
Edified Edition (EDE)When the accusers stood up, they brought no accusation against him of such things as I supposed,

19
Phonetic (Greek): zetemata de tina peri tes idias deisidaimonias eichon pros ayton kai peri tinos Ἰesoy tethnekotos, hon ephasken ho Paylos zen.
Edified Edition (EDE)but had some questions against him about their own religion and about a certain Jesus, who had died, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

20
Phonetic (Greek): aporoymenos de ego ten peri ⸀toyton zetesin elegon ei boyloito poreyesthai eis ⸀Ἱerosolyma kakei krinesthai peri toyton.
Edified Edition (EDE)And because I was uncertain of such questions, I asked whether he was willing to go to Jerusalem and there be judged concerning these matters.

21
Phonetic (Greek): toy de Paylou epikalesamenou terethenai ayton eis ten toy Sebastoy diagnosin, ekeleusa tereisthai ayton heos ohy ⸀anapempso ayton pros Kaisara.
Edified Edition (EDE)But when Paul appealed to be reserved for the decision of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I could send him to Caesar."

22
Phonetic (Greek): Ἀgrippas de pros ton ⸀Pheston· Ἐboulomen kai aytos toy anthropou akoysai. ⸀Ayrion, phesin, akoysῃ aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Agrippa said to Festus, "I also would like to hear the man myself." "Tomorrow," he said, "you shall hear him."

23
Phonetic (Greek): Tῇ oyn epayrion elthontos toy Ἀgrippa kai tes Bernikes meta polles phantasias kai eiselthonton eis to akroaterion syn ⸀te chiliarchois kai andrasin tois katʼ ⸀exochen tes poleos kai keleysantos toy Phestou echthe ho Paylos.
Edified Edition (EDE)So the next day, when Agrippa and Bernice had come with great pomp, and had entered the auditorium with the commanders and the prominent men of the city, at Festus’ command Paul was brought in.

24

Edified Edition (EDE)And Festus said: "King Agrippa and all the men who are here present with us, you see this man about whom the whole assembly of the Jews petitioned me, both at Jerusalem and here, crying out that he was not fit to live any longer.

25
Phonetic (Greek): ego de ⸀katelabomen meden axion ⸂ayton thanatou⸃ peprachenai, ⸀aytoy de toytou epikalesamenou ton Sebaston ekrina ⸀pempein.
Edified Edition (EDE)But when I found that he had committed nothing deserving of death, and that he himself had appealed to Augustus, I decided to send him.

Edified Edition (EDE)I have nothing certain to write to my lord concerning him. Therefore I have brought him before you, and especially before you, King Agrippa, so that after the examination has taken place I may have something to write.

27
Phonetic (Greek): alogon gar moi dokei pemponta desmion me kai tas katʼ aytoy aitias semanai.
Edified Edition (EDE)For it seems to me unreasonable to send a prisoner and not to specify the charges against him."
