Edified Edition (EDE)For I want you to know what a great conflict I have for you and those in Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh,

3
Phonetic (Greek): en ho eisin pantes ohi thesauroi tes sophias ⸀kai gnoseos apokryphoi.
Edified Edition (EDE)in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

4
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀toyto lego hina ⸀medeis hymas paralogizetai en pithanologiᾳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now this I say lest anyone should deceive you with persuasive words.

5
Phonetic (Greek): ei gar kai tῇ sarki apeimi, alla tῷ pneymati syn hymin eimi, chairon kai blepon hymon ten taxin kai to stereoma tes eis Christon pisteos hymon.
Edified Edition (EDE)For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in spirit, rejoicing to see your good order and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ.

6
Phonetic (Greek): Ὡs oyn parelabete ton Christon Ἰesoyn ton kyrion, en aytῷ peripateite,
Edified Edition (EDE)As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,

7
Phonetic (Greek): errizomenoi kai epoikodomoymenoi en aytῷ kai ⸀bebaioymenoi tῇ pistei kathos edidachthete, ⸀perisseyontes en eycharistiᾳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

8
Phonetic (Greek): Blepete me tis hymas estai ho sylagogon dia tes philosophias kai kenes apates kata ten paradosin ton anthropon, kata ta stoicheia toy kosmou kai oy kata Christon·
Edified Edition (EDE)Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.

9
Phonetic (Greek): hoti en aytῷ katoikei pan to pleroma tes theotetos somatikos,
Edified Edition (EDE)For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily;

10
Phonetic (Greek): kai este en aytῷ pepleromenoi, hos estin he kephale pases arches kai exousias,
Edified Edition (EDE)and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.

11
Phonetic (Greek): en ho kai perietmethete peritomῇ acheiropoietῳ en tῇ apekdysei toy ⸀somatos tes sarkos, en tῇ peritomῇ toy Christoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)In Him you were also circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the sins of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

12
Phonetic (Greek): syntaphentes aytῷ en tῷ ⸀baptismῷ, en ho kai synegerthete dia tes pisteos tes energeias toy theoy toy egeirantos ayton ⸀ek nekron·
Edified Edition (EDE)buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead.

13
Phonetic (Greek): kai hymas nekroys ontas ⸀en tois paraptomasin kai tῇ akrobystiᾳ tes sarkos hymon, synezoopoiesen hymas syn aytῷ· charisamenos hemin panta ta paraptomata,
Edified Edition (EDE)And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses,

15
Phonetic (Greek): apekdysamenos tas archas kai tas exousias edeigmatisen en parresiᾳ, thriambeysas aytoys en aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.

16
Phonetic (Greek): Me oyn tis hymas krineto en brosei ⸀e en posei e en merei heortes e noumenias e sabbaton,
Edified Edition (EDE)So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths,

17
Phonetic (Greek): ha estin skia ton mellonton, to de soma ⸀toy Christoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

18
Phonetic (Greek): medeis hymas katabrabeueto thelon en tapeinophrosynῃ kai threskeiᾳ ton angelon, ⸀ha heoraken embateyon, eikῇ physioymenos hypo toy noos tes sarkos aytoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)Let no one cheat you of your reward, taking delight in false humility and worship of angels, intruding into those things which he has not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,

19
Phonetic (Greek): kai oy kraton ten kephalen, ex ohy pan to soma dia ton haphon kai syndesmon epichoregoymenon kai symbibazomenon ayxei ten ayxesin toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)and not holding fast to the Head, from whom all the body, nourished and knit together by joints and ligaments, grows with the increase that is from God.

20
Phonetic (Greek): Ei apethanete syn Christῷ apo ton stoicheion toy kosmou, ti hos zontes en kosmῳ dogmatizesthe·
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, if you died with Christ from the basic principles of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourselves to regulations,

21
Phonetic (Greek): Me hapsῃ mede geysῃ mede thigῃs,
Edified Edition (EDE)"Do not touch, do not taste, do not handle,"

22
Phonetic (Greek): ha estin panta eis phthoran tῇ apochresei, kata ta entalmata kai didaskalias ton anthropon;
Edified Edition (EDE)which all perish with the using, according to the commandments and doctrines of men?

ἅ ἐστιν πάντα εἰς φθορὰν τῇ ἀποχρήσει, κατὰ τὰ ἐντάλματα καὶ διδασκαλίας τῶν ἀνθρώπων;

23
Phonetic (Greek): hatina estin logon men echonta sophias en ethelothreskiᾳ kai tapeinophrosynῃ kai apheidiᾳ somatos, oyk en timῇ tini pros plesmonen tes sarkos.
Edified Edition (EDE)These things indeed have an appearance of wisdom in self-imposed religion, false humility, and neglect of the body, but are of no value against the indulgence of the flesh.
