Colossians

Chapter 4
1
Phonetic (Greek): ohi kyrioi, to dikaion kai ten isoteta tois doylois parechesthe, eidotes hoti kai hymeis echete kyrion en ⸀oyranῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

οἱ κύριοι, τὸ δίκαιον καὶ τὴν ἰσότητα τοῖς δούλοις παρέχεσθε, εἰδότες ὅτι καὶ ὑμεῖς ἔχετε κύριον ἐν ⸀οὐρανῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): Tῇ proseuchῇ proskartereite, gregoroyntes en aytῇ en eycharistiᾳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;

Τῇ προσευχῇ προσκαρτερεῖτε, γρηγοροῦντες ἐν αὐτῇ ἐν εὐχαριστίᾳ,

Phonetic (Greek): proseuchomenoi hama kai peri hemon, hina ho theos anoixῃ hemin thyran toy logou, lalesai to mysterion toy Christoy, diʼ ho kai dedemai,
Edified Edition (EDE)meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,

προσευχόμενοι ἅμα καὶ περὶ ἡμῶν, ἵνα ὁ θεὸς ἀνοίξῃ ἡμῖν θύραν τοῦ λόγου, λαλῆσαι τὸ μυστήριον τοῦ Χριστοῦ, διʼ ὃ καὶ δέδεμαι,

Phonetic (Greek): hina phaneroso ayto hos dei me lalesai.
Edified Edition (EDE)that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

ἵνα φανερώσω αὐτὸ ὡς δεῖ με λαλῆσαι.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἐn sophiᾳ peripateite pros toys exo, ton kairon exagorazomenoi.
Edified Edition (EDE)Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

Ἐν σοφίᾳ περιπατεῖτε πρὸς τοὺς ἔξω, τὸν καιρὸν ἐξαγοραζόμενοι.

Phonetic (Greek): ho logos hymon pantote en chariti, halati ertymenos, eidenai pos dei hymas heni hekastῳ apokrinesthai.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

ὁ λόγος ὑμῶν πάντοτε ἐν χάριτι, ἅλατι ἠρτυμένος, εἰδέναι πῶς δεῖ ὑμᾶς ἑνὶ ἑκάστῳ ἀποκρίνεσθαι.

Phonetic (Greek): Ta katʼ eme panta gnorisei hymin Tychikos ho agapetos adelphos kai pistos diakonos kai syndoulos en kyriῳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)Tychicus, a beloved brother, faithful minister, and fellow servant in the Lord, will tell you all the news about me.

Τὰ κατʼ ἐμὲ πάντα γνωρίσει ὑμῖν Τυχικὸς ὁ ἀγαπητὸς ἀδελφὸς καὶ πιστὸς διάκονος καὶ σύνδουλος ἐν κυρίῳ,

Phonetic (Greek): hon epempsa pros hymas eis ayto toyto hina ⸀gnote ta peri ⸀hemon kai parakalesῃ tas kardias hymon,
Edified Edition (EDE)I am sending him to you for this very purpose, that he may know your circumstances and comfort your hearts,

ὃν ἔπεμψα πρὸς ὑμᾶς εἰς αὐτὸ τοῦτο ἵνα ⸀γνῶτε τὰ περὶ ⸀ἡμῶν καὶ παρακαλέσῃ τὰς καρδίας ὑμῶν,

Phonetic (Greek): syn Ὀnesimῳ tῷ pistῷ kai agapetῷ adelphῷ, hos estin ex hymon· panta hymin gnorisousin ta hode.
Edified Edition (EDE)with Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is one of you. They will make known to you all things which are happening here.

σὺν Ὀνησίμῳ τῷ πιστῷ καὶ ἀγαπητῷ ἀδελφῷ, ὅς ἐστιν ἐξ ὑμῶν· πάντα ὑμῖν γνωρίσουσιν τὰ ὧδε.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἀspazetai hymas Ἀristarchos ho synaichmalotos mou, kai Markos ho anepsios Barnaba (peri ohy elabete entolas, ean elthῃ pros hymas dexasthe ayton),
Edified Edition (EDE)Aristarchus my fellow prisoner greets you, with Mark the cousin of Barnabas (about whom you received instructions: if he comes to you, welcome him),

Ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς Ἀρίσταρχος ὁ συναιχμάλωτός μου, καὶ Μᾶρκος ὁ ἀνεψιὸς Βαρναβᾶ (περὶ οὗ ἐλάβετε ἐντολάς, ἐὰν ἔλθῃ πρὸς ὑμᾶς δέξασθε αὐτόν),

Phonetic (Greek): kai Ἰesoys ho legomenos Ἰoystos, ohi ontes ek peritomes, ohytoi monoi synergoi eis ten basileian toy theoy, ohitines egenethesan moi paregoria.
Edified Edition (EDE)and Jesus who is called Justus. These are my only fellow workers for the kingdom of God who are of the circumcision; they have proved to be a comfort to me.

καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ λεγόμενος Ἰοῦστος, οἱ ὄντες ἐκ περιτομῆς, οὗτοι μόνοι συνεργοὶ εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ, οἵτινες ἐγενήθησάν μοι παρηγορία.

Phonetic (Greek): aspazetai hymas Ἐpaphras ho ex hymon, doylos ⸀Christoy, pantote agonizomenos hyper hymon en tais proseuchais, hina ⸀stathete teleioi kai ⸀peplerophoremenoi en panti thelemati toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Epaphras, who is one of you, a bondservant of Christ, greets you, always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς Ἐπαφρᾶς ὁ ἐξ ὑμῶν, δοῦλος ⸀Χριστοῦ, πάντοτε ἀγωνιζόμενος ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν ἐν ταῖς προσευχαῖς, ἵνα ⸀σταθῆτε τέλειοι καὶ ⸀πεπληροφορημένοι ἐν παντὶ θελήματι τοῦ θεοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): martyro gar aytῷ hoti echei ⸂polyn ponon⸃ hyper hymon kai ton en Laodikeiᾳ kai ton en Ἱerapolei.
Edified Edition (EDE)For I bear him witness that he has a great zeal for you, and those who are in Laodicea, and those in Hierapolis.

μαρτυρῶ γὰρ αὐτῷ ὅτι ἔχει ⸂πολὺν πόνον⸃ ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν καὶ τῶν ἐν Λαοδικείᾳ καὶ τῶν ἐν Ἱεραπόλει.

Phonetic (Greek): aspazetai hymas Loukas ho iatros ho agapetos kai Demas.
Edified Edition (EDE)Luke the beloved physician and Demas greet you.

ἀσπάζεται ὑμᾶς Λουκᾶς ὁ ἰατρὸς ὁ ἀγαπητὸς καὶ Δημᾶς.

Phonetic (Greek): aspasasthe toys en Laodikeiᾳ adelphoys kai ⸂Nymphan kai ten katʼ oikon aytes⸃ ekklesian.
Edified Edition (EDE)Greet the brothers who are in Laodicea, and Nymphas and the church in his house.

ἀσπάσασθε τοὺς ἐν Λαοδικείᾳ ἀδελφοὺς καὶ ⸂Νύμφαν καὶ τὴν κατʼ οἶκον αὐτῆς⸃ ἐκκλησίαν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai hotan anagnosthῇ parʼ hymin he epistole, poiesate hina kai en tῇ ⸀Laodikeon ekklesiᾳ anagnosthῇ, kai ten ek Laodikeias hina kai hymeis anagnote.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now when this epistle is read among you, see that it is read also in the church of the Laodiceans, and that you likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.

καὶ ὅταν ἀναγνωσθῇ παρʼ ὑμῖν ἡ ἐπιστολή, ποιήσατε ἵνα καὶ ἐν τῇ ⸀Λαοδικέων ἐκκλησίᾳ ἀναγνωσθῇ, καὶ τὴν ἐκ Λαοδικείας ἵνα καὶ ὑμεῖς ἀναγνῶτε.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eipate Ἀrchippῳ· Blepe ten diakonian hen parelabes en kyriῳ, hina ayten plerois.
Edified Edition (EDE)And say to Archippus, "Take heed to the ministry which you have received in the Lord, that you may fulfil it."

καὶ εἴπατε Ἀρχίππῳ· Βλέπε τὴν διακονίαν ἣν παρέλαβες ἐν κυρίῳ, ἵνα αὐτὴν πληροῖς.

Phonetic (Greek): Ὁ aspasmos tῇ emῇ cheiri Paylou. mnemoneyete mou ton desmon. he charis methʼ ⸀hymon.
Edified Edition (EDE)This salutation by my own hand, Paul. Remember my chains. Grace be with you. Amen.

Ὁ ἀσπασμὸς τῇ ἐμῇ χειρὶ Παύλου. μνημονεύετέ μου τῶν δεσμῶν. ἡ χάρις μεθʼ ⸀ὑμῶν.
