Chapter 13
1
Phonetic (Greek): Ἡ philadelphia meneto.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let brotherly love continue.

2
Phonetic (Greek): tes philoxenias me epilanthanesthe, dia taytes gar elathon tines xenisantes angelous.
Edified Edition (EDE)Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

3
Phonetic (Greek): mimnῄskesthe ton desmion hos syndedemenoi, ton kakouchoumenon hos kai aytoi ontes en somati.
Edified Edition (EDE)Remember those who are in bonds, as bound with them; and those who suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

4
Phonetic (Greek): timios ho gamos en pasin kai he koite amiantos, pornous ⸀gar kai moichoys krinei ho theos.
Edified Edition (EDE)Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

5
Phonetic (Greek): aphilargyros ho tropos· arkoymenoi tois paroysin· aytos gar eireken· Oy me se ano oydʼ oy me se ⸀enkatalipo·
Edified Edition (EDE)Let your way of life be without covetousness; and be content with such things as you have: for He has said, "I will never leave you, nor forsake you."

6
Phonetic (Greek): hoste tharroyntas hemas legein· Kyrios emoi boethos, ⸀oy phobethesomai· ti poiesei moi anthropos;
Edified Edition (EDE)So that we may boldly say, "The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what anyone shall do to me."

ὥστε θαρροῦντας ἡμᾶς λέγειν· Κύριος ἐμοὶ βοηθός, ⸀οὐ φοβηθήσομαι· τί ποιήσει μοι ἄνθρωπος;

7
Phonetic (Greek): Mnemoneyete ton hegoumenon hymon, ohitines elalesan hymin ton logon toy theoy, hon anatheoroyntes ten ekbasin tes anastrophes mimeisthe ten pistin.
Edified Edition (EDE)Remember those who have the rule over you, who have spoken to you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conduct.

8
Phonetic (Greek): Ἰesoys Christos echthes kai semeron ho aytos, kai eis toys aionas.
Edified Edition (EDE)Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever.

9
Phonetic (Greek): didachais poikilais kai xenais me parapheresthe· kalon gar chariti bebaioysthai ten kardian, oy bromasin, en ohis oyk ophelethesan ohi ⸀peripatoyntes.
Edified Edition (EDE)Be not carried about with various and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with foods, which have not profited those who have been occupied therein.

10
Phonetic (Greek): echomen thysiasterion ex ohy phagein oyk echousin exousian ohi tῇ skenῇ latreyontes.
Edified Edition (EDE)We have an altar, of which those who serve the tabernacle have no right to eat.

11
Phonetic (Greek): hon gar eispheretai zῴon to ahima peri hamartias eis ta hagia dia toy archiereos, toyton ta somata katakaietai exo tes paremboles·
Edified Edition (EDE)For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.

12
Phonetic (Greek): dio kai Ἰesoys, hina hagiasῃ dia toy idiou ahimatos ton laon, exo tes pyles epathen.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore Jesus also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.

13
Phonetic (Greek): toinyn exerchometha pros ayton exo tes paremboles, ton oneidismon aytoy pherontes.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let us go forth therefore to Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach.

14
Phonetic (Greek): oy gar echomen hode menousan polin, alla ten mellousan epizetoymen·
Edified Edition (EDE)For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.

15
Phonetic (Greek): diʼ aytoy ⸀oyn anapheromen thysian aineseos dia pantos tῷ theῷ, toytʼ estin karpon cheileon homologoynton tῷ onomati aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)By Him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

16
Phonetic (Greek): tes de eypoiias kai koinonias me epilanthanesthe, toiaytais gar thysiais eyaresteitai ho theos.
Edified Edition (EDE)But to do good and to share forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.

17
Phonetic (Greek): Peithesthe tois hegoumenois hymon kai hypeikete, aytoi gar agrypnoysin hyper ton psychon hymon hos logon apodosontes, hina meta charas toyto poiosin kai me stenazontes, alysiteles gar hymin toyto.
Edified Edition (EDE)Obey those who have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as those who must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

18
Phonetic (Greek): Proseychesthe peri hemon, ⸀peithometha gar hoti kalen syneidesin echomen, en pasin kalos thelontes anastrephesthai.
Edified Edition (EDE)Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.

19
Phonetic (Greek): perissoteros de parakalo toyto poiesai hina tachion apokatastatho hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner.

20
Phonetic (Greek): Ὁ de theos tes eirenes, ho anagagon ek nekron ton poimena ton probaton ton megan en ahimati diathekes aioniou, ton kyrion hemon Ἰesoyn,
Edified Edition (EDE)Now the God of peace, who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Edified Edition (EDE)Make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.

22
Phonetic (Greek): Parakalo de hymas, adelphoi, anechesthe toy logou tes parakleseos, kai gar dia bracheon epesteila hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)And I beseech you, brothers, suffer the word of exhortation: for I have written a letter to you in few words.

23
Phonetic (Greek): ginoskete ton adelphon ⸀hemon Timotheon apolelymenon, methʼ ohy ean tachion erchetai opsomai hymas.
Edified Edition (EDE)Know that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he comes shortly, I will see you.
