Hebrews

Chapter 2
1
Phonetic (Greek): Dia toyto dei perissoteros ⸂prosechein hemas⸃ tois akoustheisin, mepote pararyomen.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

2
Phonetic (Greek): ei gar ho diʼ angelon laletheis logos egeneto bebaios, kai pasa parabasis kai parakoe elaben endikon misthapodosian,
Edified Edition (EDE)For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

3
Phonetic (Greek): pos hemeis ekpheuxometha telikaytes amelesantes soterias, hetis, archen laboysa laleisthai dia toy kyriou, hypo ton akousanton eis hemas ebebaiothe,
Edified Edition (EDE)How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him;

4
Phonetic (Greek): synepimartyroyntos toy theoy semeiois te kai terasin kai poikilais dynamesin kai pneymatos hagiou merismois kata ten aytoy thelesin;
Edified Edition (EDE)God also bearing them witness, both with signs and wonders, and with various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?

συνεπιμαρτυροῦντος τοῦ θεοῦ σημείοις τε καὶ τέρασιν καὶ ποικίλαις δυνάμεσιν καὶ πνεύματος ἁγίου μερισμοῖς κατὰ τὴν αὐτοῦ θέλησιν;

5
Phonetic (Greek): Oy gar angelois hypetaxen ten oikoumenen ten mellousan, peri hes laloymen·
Edified Edition (EDE)For to the angels He has not put in subjection the world to come, of which we speak.

6
Phonetic (Greek): diemartyrato de poy tis legon· Ti estin anthropos hoti mimnῄskῃ aytoy, e yhios anthropou hoti episkeptῃ ayton;
Edified Edition (EDE)But one in a certain place testified, saying, "What is man, that You are mindful of him? Or the son of man, that You visit him?

διεμαρτύρατο δέ πού τις λέγων· Τί ἐστιν ἄνθρωπος ὅτι μιμνῄσκῃ αὐτοῦ, ἢ υἱὸς ἀνθρώπου ὅτι ἐπισκέπτῃ αὐτόν;

7
Phonetic (Greek): elattosas ayton brachy ti parʼ angelous, doxῃ kai timῇ estephanosas ⸀ayton,
Edified Edition (EDE)You made him a little lower than the angels; You crowned him with glory and honour, and set him over the works of Your hands:

8
Phonetic (Greek): panta hypetaxas hypokato ton podon aytoy· en ⸂tῷ gar⸃ ⸀hypotaxai ta panta oyden apheken aytῷ anypotakton. nyn de oypo horomen aytῷ ta panta hypotetagmena·
Edified Edition (EDE)You have put all things in subjection under his feet." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.

9
Phonetic (Greek): ton de brachy ti parʼ angelous elattomenon blepomen Ἰesoyn dia to pathema toy thanatou doxῃ kai timῇ estephanomenon, hopos ⸀choris theoy hyper pantos geysetai thanatou.
Edified Edition (EDE)But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that He by the grace of God should taste death for every person.

10
Phonetic (Greek): Ἔprepen gar aytῷ, diʼ hon ta panta kai diʼ ohy ta panta, polloys yhioys eis doxan agagonta ton archegon tes soterias ayton dia pathematon teleiosai.
Edified Edition (EDE)For it became Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

11
Phonetic (Greek): ho te gar hagiazon kai ohi hagiazomenoi ex henos pantes· diʼ hen aitian oyk epaischynetai adelphoys aytoys kalein,
Edified Edition (EDE)For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause He is not ashamed to call them brothers,

12
Phonetic (Greek): legon· Ἀpangelo to onoma sou tois adelphois mou, en mesῳ ekklesias hymneso se·
Edified Edition (EDE)Saying, "I will declare Your name to My brothers; in the midst of the church will I sing praise to You."

13
Phonetic (Greek): kai palin· Ἐgo esomai pepoithos epʼ aytῷ· kai palin· Ἰdoy ego kai ta paidia ha moi edoken ho theos.
Edified Edition (EDE)And again, "I will put My trust in Him." And again, "Behold I and the children which God has given Me."

14
Phonetic (Greek): Ἐpei oyn ta paidia kekoinoneken ⸂ahimatos kai sarkos⸃, kai aytos paraplesios meteschen ton ayton, hina dia toy thanatou katargesῃ ton to kratos echonta toy thanatou, toytʼ esti ton diabolon,
Edified Edition (EDE)Since then the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil;

15
Phonetic (Greek): kai apallaxῃ toytous, hosoi phobῳ thanatou dia pantos toy zen enochoi esan douleias.
Edified Edition (EDE)And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

16
Phonetic (Greek): oy gar depou angelon epilambanetai, alla spermatos Ἀbraam epilambanetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)For truly He took not on Him the nature of angels; but He took on Him the seed of Abraham.

17
Phonetic (Greek): hothen opheilen kata panta tois adelphois homoiothenai, hina eleemon genetai kai pistos archiereys ta pros ton theon, eis to hilaskesthai tas hamartias toy laoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore in all things it behoved Him to be made like to His brothers, that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

18
Phonetic (Greek): en ho gar peponthen aytos peirastheis, dynatai tois peirazomenois boethesai.
Edified Edition (EDE)For in that He Himself has suffered being tempted, He is able to assist those who are tempted.
