Hebrews

Chapter 3
1
Phonetic (Greek): Ὅthen, adelphoi hagioi, kleseos epouraniou metochoi, katanoesate ton apostolon kai archierea tes homologias hemon ⸀Ἰesoyn,
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus;

2
Phonetic (Greek): piston onta tῷ poiesanti ayton hos kai Moyses ⸀en tῷ oikῳ aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Who was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house.

3
Phonetic (Greek): pleionos gar ⸂ohytos doxes⸃ para Moysen exiotai kathʼ hoson pleiona timen echei toy oikou ho kataskeuasas ayton·
Edified Edition (EDE)For this man was counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as he who has built the house has more honour than the house.

Edified Edition (EDE)For every house is built by someone; but He who built all things is God.

5
Phonetic (Greek): kai Moyses men pistos en holῳ tῷ oikῳ aytoy hos therapon eis martyrion ton lalethesomenon,
Edified Edition (EDE)And Moses truly was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken after;

6
Phonetic (Greek): Christos de hos yhios epi ton oikon aytoy· ⸀hos oikos esmen hemeis, ⸀ean ten parresian kai to kaychema tes ⸀elpidos kataschomen.
Edified Edition (EDE)But Christ as a son over His own house; whose house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end.

7
Phonetic (Greek): Dio, kathos legei to pneyma to hagion· Semeron ean tes phones aytoy akoysete,
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore (as the Holy Spirit says, "Today if you will hear His voice,

8
Phonetic (Greek): me sklerynete tas kardias hymon hos en tῷ parapikrasmῷ, kata ten hemeran toy peirasmoy en tῇ eremῳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of trial in the wilderness:

9
Phonetic (Greek): ohy ⸀epeirasan ohi pateres hymon ⸂en dokimasiᾳ⸃ kai eidon ta erga mou
Edified Edition (EDE)When your fathers tempted Me, proved Me, and saw My works forty years.

10
Phonetic (Greek): tesserakonta ete· dio prosochthisa tῇ geneᾷ ⸀taytῃ kai eipon· Ἀei planontai tῇ kardiᾳ· aytoi de oyk egnosan tas hodoys mou·
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore I was grieved with that generation, and said, 'They do always err in their heart; and they have not known My ways.'

11
Phonetic (Greek): hos omosa en tῇ orgῇ mou· Ei eiseleysontai eis ten katapausin mou.
Edified Edition (EDE)So I sware in My wrath, 'They shall not enter into My rest.'")

12
Phonetic (Greek): blepete, adelphoi, mepote estai en tini hymon kardia ponera apistias en tῷ apostenai apo theoy zontos,
Edified Edition (EDE)Take heed, brothers, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

13
Phonetic (Greek): alla parakaleite heautoys kathʼ hekasten hemeran, achris ohy to Semeron kaleitai, hina me sklerynthῇ ⸂tis ex hymon⸃ apatῃ tes hamartias·
Edified Edition (EDE)But exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today"; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

14
Phonetic (Greek): metochoi gar ⸂toy Christoy gegonamen⸃, eanper ten archen tes hypostaseos mechri telous bebaian kataschomen.
Edified Edition (EDE)For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast to the end;

15
Phonetic (Greek): en tῷ legesthai· Semeron ean tes phones aytoy akoysete, Me sklerynete tas kardias hymon hos en tῷ parapikrasmῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)While it is said, "Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation."

16
Phonetic (Greek): tines gar akoysantes parepikranan; allʼ oy pantes ohi exelthontes ex Aigyptou dia Moyseos;
Edified Edition (EDE)For some, when they had heard, did provoke: however not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

τίνες γὰρ ἀκούσαντες παρεπίκραναν; ἀλλʼ οὐ πάντες οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου διὰ Μωϋσέως;

17
Phonetic (Greek): tisin de prosochthisen tesserakonta ete; oychi tois hamartesasin, hon ta kola epesen en tῇ eremῳ;
Edified Edition (EDE)But with whom was He grieved forty years? Was it not with those who had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness?

τίσιν δὲ προσώχθισεν τεσσεράκοντα ἔτη; οὐχὶ τοῖς ἁμαρτήσασιν, ὧν τὰ κῶλα ἔπεσεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ;

18
Phonetic (Greek): tisin de omosen me eiseleysesthai eis ten katapausin aytoy ei me tois apeithesasin;
Edified Edition (EDE)And to whom sware He that they should not enter into His rest, but to those who believed not?

τίσιν δὲ ὤμοσεν μὴ εἰσελεύσεσθαι εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν;

19
Phonetic (Greek): kai blepomen hoti oyk edynethesan eiselthein diʼ apistian.
Edified Edition (EDE)So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.
