Hebrews

Chapter 4
1
Phonetic (Greek): Phobethomen oyn mepote kataleipomenes epangelias eiselthein eis ten katapausin aytoy dokῇ tis ex hymon hysterekenai·
Edified Edition (EDE)Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into His rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.

2
Phonetic (Greek): kai gar esmen eyengelismenoi kathaper kakeinoi, allʼ oyk ophelesen ho logos tes akoes ekeinous, me ⸀synkekerasmenous tῇ pistei tois akoysasin.
Edified Edition (EDE)For to us was the gospel preached, as well as to them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in those who heard it.

3
Phonetic (Greek): eiserchometha gar ⸀eis katapausin ohi pisteysantes, kathos eireken· Ὡs omosa en tῇ orgῇ mou, Ei eiseleysontai eis ten katapausin mou, kaitoi ton ergon apo kataboles kosmou genethenton,
Edified Edition (EDE)For we which have believed do enter into rest, as He said, "As I have sworn in My wrath, if they shall enter into My rest": although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

4
Phonetic (Greek): eireken gar pou peri tes hebdomes ohytos· Kai katepausen ho theos en tῇ hemerᾳ tῇ hebdomῃ apo panton ton ergon aytoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)For He spoke in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, "And God did rest the seventh day from all His works."

5
Phonetic (Greek): kai en toytῳ palin· Ei eiseleysontai eis ten katapausin mou.
Edified Edition (EDE)And in this place again, "If they shall enter into My rest."

6
Phonetic (Greek): epei oyn apoleipetai tinas eiselthein eis ayten, kai ohi proteron eyangelisthentes oyk eiselthon diʼ apeitheian,
Edified Edition (EDE)Seeing therefore it remains that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:

7
Phonetic (Greek): palin tina horizei hemeran, Semeron, en Dauid legon meta tosoyton chronon, kathos ⸀proeiretai, Semeron ean tes phones aytoy akoysete, me sklerynete tas kardias hymon·
Edified Edition (EDE)Again, He limits a certain day, saying in David, "Today," after so long a time; as it is said, "Today if you will hear His voice, harden not your hearts."

8
Phonetic (Greek): ei gar aytoys Ἰesoys katepausen, oyk an peri alles elalei meta tayta hemeras.
Edified Edition (EDE)For if Joshua had given them rest, then would He not afterward have spoken of another day.

9
Phonetic (Greek): ara apoleipetai sabbatismos tῷ laῷ toy theoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)There remains therefore a rest to the people of God.

10
Phonetic (Greek): ho gar eiselthon eis ten katapausin aytoy kai aytos katepausen apo ton ergon aytoy hosper apo ton idion ho theos.
Edified Edition (EDE)For he who has entered into His rest, he also has ceased from his own works, as God did from His.

11
Phonetic (Greek): spoudasomen oyn eiselthein eis ekeinen ten katapausin, hina me en tῷ aytῷ tis hypodeigmati pesῃ tes apeitheias.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any person fall after the same example of unbelief.

12
Phonetic (Greek): Zon gar ho logos toy theoy kai energes kai tomoteros hyper pasan machairan distomon kai diiknoymenos achri merismoy psyches ⸀kai pneymatos, harmon te kai myelon, kai kritikos enthymeseon kai ennoion kardias·
Edified Edition (EDE)For the word of God is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

13
Phonetic (Greek): kai oyk estin ktisis aphanes enopion aytoy, panta de gymna kai tetrachelismena tois ophthalmois aytoy, pros hon hemin ho logos.
Edified Edition (EDE)Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in His sight: but all things are naked and opened to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.

14
Phonetic (Greek): Ἔchontes oyn archierea megan dielelythota toys oyranoys, Ἰesoyn ton yhion toy theoy, kratomen tes homologias·
Edified Edition (EDE)Seeing then that we have a great high priest, who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

15
Phonetic (Greek): oy gar echomen archierea me dynamenon sympathesai tais astheneiais hemon, ⸀pepeirasmenon de kata panta kathʼ homoioteta choris hamartias.
Edified Edition (EDE)For we do not have an high priest who cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

16
Phonetic (Greek): proserchometha oyn meta parresias tῷ thronῳ tes charitos, hina labomen eleos kai charin ehyromen eis eykairon boetheian.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to assist in time of need.
