Chapter 6
1
Phonetic (Greek): Dio aphentes ton tes arches toy Christoy logon epi ten teleioteta pherometha, me palin themelion kataballomenoi metanoias apo nekron ergon, kai pisteos epi theon,
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on to perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2
Phonetic (Greek): baptismon ⸀didachen epitheseos te cheiron, anastaseos ⸀te nekron kai krimatos aioniou.
Edified Edition (EDE)Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgement.

3
Phonetic (Greek): kai toyto ⸀poiesomen eanper epitrepῃ ho theos.
Edified Edition (EDE)And this will we do, if God permit.

4
Phonetic (Greek): Ἀdynaton gar toys hapax photisthentas geusamenous te tes doreas tes epouraniou kai metochous genethentas pneymatos hagiou
Edified Edition (EDE)For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit,

5
Phonetic (Greek): kai kalon geusamenous theoy ῥema dynameis te mellontos aionos,
Edified Edition (EDE)And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6
Phonetic (Greek): kai parapesontas, palin anakainizein eis metanoian, anastauroyntas heautois ton yhion toy theoy kai paradeigmatizontas.
Edified Edition (EDE)If they shall fall away, to renew them again to repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.

7
Phonetic (Greek): ge gar he pioysa ton epʼ aytes ⸂erchomenon pollakis⸃ hyeton, kai tiktousa botanen eytheton ekeinois diʼ ohys kai georgeitai, metalambanei eylogias apo toy theoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)For the earth which drinks in the rain that comes often upon it, and brings forth herbs meet for those by whom it is dressed, receives blessing from God:

8
Phonetic (Greek): ekpherousa de akanthas kai tribolous adokimos kai kataras engys, hes to telos eis kaysin.
Edified Edition (EDE)But that which bears thorns and briers is rejected, and is near to cursing; whose end is to be burned.

9
Phonetic (Greek): Pepeismetha de peri hymon, agapetoi, ta kreissona kai echomena soterias, ei kai ohytos laloymen·
Edified Edition (EDE)But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

10
Phonetic (Greek): oy gar adikos ho theos epilathesthai toy ergou hymon ⸀kai tes agapes hes enedeixasthe eis to onoma aytoy, diakonesantes tois hagiois kai diakonoyntes.
Edified Edition (EDE)For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which you have showed toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

11
Phonetic (Greek): epithymoymen de hekaston hymon ten ayten endeiknysthai spouden pros ten plerophorian tes elpidos achri telous,
Edified Edition (EDE)And we desire that every one of you do show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope to the end:

12
Phonetic (Greek): hina me nothroi genesthe, mimetai de ton dia pisteos kai makrothymias kleronomoynton tas epangelias.
Edified Edition (EDE)That you be not slothful, but followers of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13
Phonetic (Greek): Tῷ gar Ἀbraam epangeilamenos ho theos, epei katʼ oydenos eichen meizonos omosai, omosen kathʼ heautoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)For when God made promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no greater, He sware by Himself,

14
Phonetic (Greek): legon· ⸀Ei men eylogon eylogeso se kai plethynon plethyno se·
Edified Edition (EDE)Saying, "Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you."

15
Phonetic (Greek): kai ohytos makrothymesas epetychen tes epangelias.
Edified Edition (EDE)And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

16
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀anthropoi gar kata toy meizonos omnyousin, kai pases aytois antilogias peras eis bebaiosin ho horkos·
Edified Edition (EDE)For people truly swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

17
Phonetic (Greek): en ho perissoteron boulomenos ho theos epideixai tois kleronomois tes epangelias to ametatheton tes boules aytoy emesiteusen horkῳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)In which God, willing more abundantly to show to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18
Phonetic (Greek): hina dia dyo pragmaton ametatheton, en ohis adynaton pseysasthai ⸀theon, ischyran paraklesin echomen ohi kataphygontes kratesai tes prokeimenes elpidos·
Edified Edition (EDE)That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19
Phonetic (Greek): hen hos ankyran echomen tes psyches, ⸀asphale te kai bebaian kai eiserchomenen eis to esoteron toy katapetasmatos,
Edified Edition (EDE)Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which enters into that within the veil;

20
Phonetic (Greek): hopou prodromos hyper hemon eiselthen Ἰesoys, kata ten taxin Melchisedek archiereys genomenos eis ton aiona.
Edified Edition (EDE)Where the forerunner has for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
