Hebrews

Chapter 8
1
Phonetic (Greek): Kephalaion de epi tois legomenois, toioyton echomen archierea, hos ekathisen en dexiᾷ toy thronou tes megalosynes en tois oyranois,
Edified Edition (EDE)Now of the things which we have spoken this is the sum: We have such an high priest, who is seated on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens;

2
Phonetic (Greek): ton hagion leitourgos kai tes skenes tes alethines, hen epexen ho kyrios, ⸀oyk anthropos.
Edified Edition (EDE)A minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.

3
Phonetic (Greek): pas gar archiereys eis to prospherein dora te kai thysias kathistatai· hothen anankaion echein ti kai toyton ho prosenenkῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For every high priest is ordained to offer gifts and sacrifices: therefore it is of necessity that this man have somewhat also to offer.

4
Phonetic (Greek): ei men ⸀oyn en epi ges, oydʼ an en hiereys, ⸀onton ton prospheronton kata ⸀nomon ta dora·
Edified Edition (EDE)For if He were on earth, He should not be a priest, seeing that there are priests who offer gifts according to the law:

5
Phonetic (Greek): (ohitines hypodeigmati kai skiᾷ latreyousin ton epouranion, kathos kechrematistai Moyses mellon epitelein ten skenen, Ὅra gar, phesin, poieseis panta kata ton typon ton deichthenta soi en tῷ orei)·
Edified Edition (EDE)Who serve to the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, "See," He says, "that you make all things according to the pattern showed to you in the mount."

6
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀nyni de diaphoroteras tetychen leitourgias, hosῳ kai kreittonos estin diathekes mesites, hetis epi kreittosin epangeliais nenomothetetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also He is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises.

7
Phonetic (Greek): Ei gar he prote ekeine en amemptos, oyk an deuteras ezeteito topos·
Edified Edition (EDE)For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second.

8
Phonetic (Greek): memphomenos gar ⸀aytoys legei· Ἰdoy hemerai erchontai, legei kyrios, kai synteleso epi ton oikon Ἰsrael kai epi ton oikon Ἰoyda diatheken kainen,
Edified Edition (EDE)For finding fault with them, He says, "Behold, the days come," says the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah:

9
Phonetic (Greek): oy kata ten diatheken hen epoiesa tois patrasin ayton en hemerᾳ epilabomenou mou tes cheiros ayton exagagein aytoys ek ges Aigyptou, hoti aytoi oyk enemeinan en tῇ diathekῃ mou, kago emelesa ayton, legei kyrios.
Edified Edition (EDE)Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they continued not in My covenant, and I regarded them not," says the Lord.

10
Phonetic (Greek): hoti ahyte he diatheke hen diathesomai tῷ oikῳ Ἰsrael meta tas hemeras ekeinas, legei kyrios, didoys nomous mou eis ten dianoian ayton, kai epi kardias ayton epigrapso aytoys, kai esomai aytois eis theon kai aytoi esontai moi eis laon.
Edified Edition (EDE)For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:

11
Phonetic (Greek): kai oy me didaxosin hekastos ton politen aytoy kai hekastos ton adelphon aytoy, legon· Gnothi ton kyrion, hoti pantes eidesousin me apo ⸀mikroy heos megalou ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they shall not teach every one his neighbour, and every one his brother, saying, "Know the Lord": for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.

12
Phonetic (Greek): hoti hileos esomai tais adikiais ayton, kai ton hamartion ⸀ayton oy me mnestho eti.
Edified Edition (EDE)For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities I will remember no more.

13
Phonetic (Greek): en tῷ legein Kainen pepalaioken ten proten, to de palaioymenon kai geraskon engys aphanismoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)In that He says, "A new covenant," He has made the first old. Now that which decays and grows old is ready to vanish away.
