Chapter 15
1
Phonetic (Greek): Ἐgo eimi he ampelos he alethine, kai ho pater mou ho georgos estin·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser."[/JESUS]

Ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ἄμπελος ἡ ἀληθινή, καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ὁ γεωργός ἐστιν·

Phonetic (Greek): pan klema en emoi me pheron karpon airei ayto, kai pan to karpon pheron kathairei ayto hina ⸂karpon pleiona⸃ pherῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit."[/JESUS]

πᾶν κλῆμα ἐν ἐμοὶ μὴ φέρον καρπὸν αἴρει αὐτό, καὶ πᾶν τὸ καρπὸν φέρον καθαίρει αὐτὸ ἵνα ⸂καρπὸν πλείονα⸃ φέρῃ.

Phonetic (Greek): ede hymeis katharoi este dia ton logon hon lelaleka hymin·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you."[/JESUS]

ἤδη ὑμεῖς καθαροί ἐστε διὰ τὸν λόγον ὃν λελάληκα ὑμῖν·

Phonetic (Greek): meinate en emoi, kago en hymin. kathos to klema oy dynatai karpon pherein aphʼ heautoy ean me ⸀menῃ en tῇ ampelῳ, ohytos oyde hymeis ean me en emoi ⸀menete.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."[/JESUS]

μείνατε ἐν ἐμοί, κἀγὼ ἐν ὑμῖν. καθὼς τὸ κλῆμα οὐ δύναται καρπὸν φέρειν ἀφʼ ἑαυτοῦ ἐὰν μὴ ⸀μένῃ ἐν τῇ ἀμπέλῳ, οὕτως οὐδὲ ὑμεῖς ἐὰν μὴ ἐν ἐμοὶ ⸀μένητε.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing."[/JESUS]

ἐγώ εἰμι ἡ ἄμπελος, ὑμεῖς τὰ κλήματα. ὁ μένων ἐν ἐμοὶ κἀγὼ ἐν αὐτῷ οὗτος φέρει καρπὸν πολύν, ὅτι χωρὶς ἐμοῦ οὐ δύνασθε ποιεῖν οὐδέν.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned."[/JESUS]

ἐὰν μή τις ⸀μένῃ ἐν ἐμοί, ἐβλήθη ἔξω ὡς τὸ κλῆμα καὶ ἐξηράνθη, καὶ συνάγουσιν αὐτὰ καὶ εἰς τὸ πῦρ βάλλουσιν καὶ καίεται.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you."[/JESUS]

ἐὰν μείνητε ἐν ἐμοὶ καὶ τὰ ῥήματά μου ἐν ὑμῖν μείνῃ, ὃ ἐὰν θέλητε ⸀αἰτήσασθε καὶ γενήσεται ὑμῖν·

Phonetic (Greek): en toytῳ edoxasthe ho pater mou hina karpon polyn pherete kai ⸀genesthe emoi mathetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples."[/JESUS]

ἐν τούτῳ ἐδοξάσθη ὁ πατήρ μου ἵνα καρπὸν πολὺν φέρητε καὶ ⸀γένησθε ἐμοὶ μαθηταί.

Phonetic (Greek): kathos egapesen me ho pater, kago ⸂hymas egapesa⸃, meinate en tῇ agapῃ tῇ emῇ.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"As the Father loved Me, I also have loved you; abide in My love."[/JESUS]

καθὼς ἠγάπησέν με ὁ πατήρ, κἀγὼ ⸂ὑμᾶς ἠγάπησα⸃, μείνατε ἐν τῇ ἀγάπῃ τῇ ἐμῇ.

Phonetic (Greek): ean tas entolas mou teresete, meneite en tῇ agapῃ mou, kathos ego ⸂tas entolas toy patros mou⸃ tetereka kai meno aytoy en tῇ agapῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love."[/JESUS]

ἐὰν τὰς ἐντολάς μου τηρήσητε, μενεῖτε ἐν τῇ ἀγάπῃ μου, καθὼς ἐγὼ ⸂τὰς ἐντολὰς τοῦ πατρός μου⸃ τετήρηκα καὶ μένω αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ ἀγάπῃ.

Phonetic (Greek): tayta lelaleka hymin hina he chara he eme en hymin ⸀e kai he chara hymon plerothῇ.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full."[/JESUS]

ταῦτα λελάληκα ὑμῖν ἵνα ἡ χαρὰ ἡ ἐμὴ ἐν ὑμῖν ⸀ᾖ καὶ ἡ χαρὰ ὑμῶν πληρωθῇ.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you."[/JESUS]

Αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ ἐντολὴ ἡ ἐμὴ ἵνα ἀγαπᾶτε ἀλλήλους καθὼς ἠγάπησα ὑμᾶς·

Phonetic (Greek): meizona taytes agapen oydeis echei, hina tis ten psychen aytoy thῇ hyper ton philon aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends."[/JESUS]

μείζονα ταύτης ἀγάπην οὐδεὶς ἔχει, ἵνα τις τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ θῇ ὑπὲρ τῶν φίλων αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): hymeis philoi moy este ean poiete ⸀ha ego entellomai hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"You are My friends if you do whatever I command you."[/JESUS]

ὑμεῖς φίλοι μού ἐστε ἐὰν ποιῆτε ⸀ἃ ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαι ὑμῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): oyketi ⸂lego hymas⸃ doylous, hoti ho doylos oyk oiden ti poiei aytoy ho kyrios· hymas de eireka philous, hoti panta ha ekousa para toy patros mou egnorisa hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"No longer do I call you servants, for a servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you."[/JESUS]

οὐκέτι ⸂λέγω ὑμᾶς⸃ δούλους, ὅτι ὁ δοῦλος οὐκ οἶδεν τί ποιεῖ αὐτοῦ ὁ κύριος· ὑμᾶς δὲ εἴρηκα φίλους, ὅτι πάντα ἃ ἤκουσα παρὰ τοῦ πατρός μου ἐγνώρισα ὑμῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): oych hymeis me exelexasthe, allʼ ego exelexamen hymas, kai etheka hymas hina hymeis hypagete kai karpon pherete kai ho karpos hymon menῃ, hina ho ti an aitesete ton patera en tῷ onomati mou dῷ hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you."[/JESUS]

οὐχ ὑμεῖς με ἐξελέξασθε, ἀλλʼ ἐγὼ ἐξελεξάμην ὑμᾶς, καὶ ἔθηκα ὑμᾶς ἵνα ὑμεῖς ὑπάγητε καὶ καρπὸν φέρητε καὶ ὁ καρπὸς ὑμῶν μένῃ, ἵνα ὅ τι ἂν αἰτήσητε τὸν πατέρα ἐν τῷ ὀνόματί μου δῷ ὑμῖν.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"These things I command you, that you love one another."[/JESUS]

ταῦτα ἐντέλλομαι ὑμῖν ἵνα ἀγαπᾶτε ἀλλήλους.

Phonetic (Greek): Ei ho kosmos hymas misei, ginoskete hoti eme proton ⸀hymon memiseken.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you."[/JESUS]

Εἰ ὁ κόσμος ὑμᾶς μισεῖ, γινώσκετε ὅτι ἐμὲ πρῶτον ⸀ὑμῶν μεμίσηκεν.

Phonetic (Greek): ei ek toy kosmou ete, ho kosmos an to idion ephilei· hoti de ek toy kosmou oyk este, allʼ ego exelexamen hymas ek toy kosmou, dia toyto misei hymas ho kosmos.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you."[/JESUS]

εἰ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου ἦτε, ὁ κόσμος ἂν τὸ ἴδιον ἐφίλει· ὅτι δὲ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου οὐκ ἐστέ, ἀλλʼ ἐγὼ ἐξελεξάμην ὑμᾶς ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου, διὰ τοῦτο μισεῖ ὑμᾶς ὁ κόσμος.

Phonetic (Greek): mnemoneyete toy logou ohy ego eipon hymin· Oyk estin doylos meizon toy kyriou aytoy· ei eme edioxan, kai hymas dioxousin· ei ton logon mou eteresan, kai ton hymeteron teresousin.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Remember the word that I said to you, 'A servant is not greater than his master.' If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you. If they kept My word, they will keep yours also."[/JESUS]

μνημονεύετε τοῦ λόγου οὗ ἐγὼ εἶπον ὑμῖν· Οὐκ ἔστιν δοῦλος μείζων τοῦ κυρίου αὐτοῦ· εἰ ἐμὲ ἐδίωξαν, καὶ ὑμᾶς διώξουσιν· εἰ τὸν λόγον μου ἐτήρησαν, καὶ τὸν ὑμέτερον τηρήσουσιν.

Phonetic (Greek): alla tayta panta poiesousin ⸂eis hymas⸃ dia to onoma mou, hoti oyk oidasin ton pempsanta me.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me."[/JESUS]

ἀλλὰ ταῦτα πάντα ποιήσουσιν ⸂εἰς ὑμᾶς⸃ διὰ τὸ ὄνομά μου, ὅτι οὐκ οἴδασιν τὸν πέμψαντά με.

Phonetic (Greek): ei me elthon kai elalesa aytois, hamartian oyk ⸀eichosan· nyn de prophasin oyk echousin peri tes hamartias ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"If I had not come and spoken to them, they would have no sin, but now they have no excuse for their sin."[/JESUS]

εἰ μὴ ἦλθον καὶ ἐλάλησα αὐτοῖς, ἁμαρτίαν οὐκ ⸀εἴχοσαν· νῦν δὲ πρόφασιν οὐκ ἔχουσιν περὶ τῆς ἁμαρτίας αὐτῶν.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"He who hates Me hates My Father also."[/JESUS]

ὁ ἐμὲ μισῶν καὶ τὸν πατέρα μου μισεῖ.

Phonetic (Greek): ei ta erga me epoiesa en aytois ha oydeis allos ⸀epoiesen, hamartian oyk ⸀eichosan· nyn de kai heorakasin kai memisekasin kai eme kai ton patera mou.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would have no sin; but now they have seen and also hated both Me and My Father."[/JESUS]

εἰ τὰ ἔργα μὴ ἐποίησα ἐν αὐτοῖς ἃ οὐδεὶς ἄλλος ⸀ἐποίησεν, ἁμαρτίαν οὐκ ⸀εἴχοσαν· νῦν δὲ καὶ ἑωράκασιν καὶ μεμισήκασιν καὶ ἐμὲ καὶ τὸν πατέρα μου.

Phonetic (Greek): allʼ hina plerothῇ ho logos ho ⸂en tῷ nomῳ ayton gegrammenos⸃ hoti Ἐmisesan me dorean.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But this happened that the word might be fulfilled which is written in their law, 'They hated Me without a cause.'"[/JESUS]

ἀλλʼ ἵνα πληρωθῇ ὁ λόγος ὁ ⸂ἐν τῷ νόμῳ αὐτῶν γεγραμμένος⸃ ὅτι Ἐμίσησάν με δωρεάν.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀Ὅtan elthῃ ho parakletos hon ego pempso hymin para toy patros, to pneyma tes aletheias ho para toy patros ekporeyetai, ekeinos martyresei peri emoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But when the Advocate comes, whom I shall send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, He will testify of Me."[/JESUS]

⸀Ὅταν ἔλθῃ ὁ παράκλητος ὃν ἐγὼ πέμψω ὑμῖν παρὰ τοῦ πατρός, τὸ πνεῦμα τῆς ἀληθείας ὃ παρὰ τοῦ πατρὸς ἐκπορεύεται, ἐκεῖνος μαρτυρήσει περὶ ἐμοῦ·

Phonetic (Greek): kai hymeis de martyreite, hoti apʼ arches metʼ emoy este.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning."[/JESUS]

καὶ ὑμεῖς δὲ μαρτυρεῖτε, ὅτι ἀπʼ ἀρχῆς μετʼ ἐμοῦ ἐστε.
