Chapter 6
1
Phonetic (Greek): Meta tayta apelthen ho Ἰesoys peran tes thalasses tes Galilaias tes Tiberiados.
Edified Edition (EDE)After these things, Jesus went away to the other side of the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.

2
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂ekoloythei de⸃ aytῷ ochlos polys, hoti ⸀etheoroun ta semeia ha epoiei epi ton asthenoynton.
Edified Edition (EDE)And a great multitude followed Him, because they saw the signs which He performed on those who were sick.

3
Phonetic (Greek): anelthen de eis to ⸀oros Ἰesoys, kai ekei ekatheto meta ton matheton aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus went up onto the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.

4
Phonetic (Greek): en de engys to pascha, he heorte ton Ἰoudaion.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now the Passover, the feast of the Jews, was at hand.

5
Phonetic (Greek): eparas oyn ⸂toys ophthalmoys ho Ἰesoys⸃ kai theasamenos hoti polys ochlos erchetai pros ayton legei ⸀pros Philippon· Pothen ⸀agorasomen artous hina phagosin ohytoi;
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Jesus, lifting up His eyes and seeing that a great multitude was coming to Him, said to Philip, [JESUS]"Where shall we buy bread, so that these may eat?"[/JESUS]

ἐπάρας οὖν ⸂τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃ καὶ θεασάμενος ὅτι πολὺς ὄχλος ἔρχεται πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγει ⸀πρὸς Φίλιππον· Πόθεν ⸀ἀγοράσωμεν ἄρτους ἵνα φάγωσιν οὗτοι;

6
Phonetic (Greek): toyto de elegen peirazon ayton, aytos gar edei ti emellen poiein.
Edified Edition (EDE)He said this to test him, for He Himself knew what He was about to do.

7
Phonetic (Greek): apekrithe ⸀aytῷ Philippos· Diakosion denarion artoi oyk arkoysin aytois hina ⸀hekastos brachy ⸀ti labῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Philip answered Him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, for everyone to receive even a little."

8
Phonetic (Greek): legei aytῷ ehis ek ton matheton aytoy, Ἀndreas ho adelphos Simonos Petrou·
Edified Edition (EDE)One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,

9
Phonetic (Greek): Ἔstin ⸀paidarion hode ⸀hos echei pente artous krithinous kai dyo opsaria· alla tayta ti estin eis tosoytous;
Edified Edition (EDE)"There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fishes; but what are these among so many?"

Ἔστιν ⸀παιδάριον ὧδε ⸀ὃς ἔχει πέντε ἄρτους κριθίνους καὶ δύο ὀψάρια· ἀλλὰ ταῦτα τί ἐστιν εἰς τοσούτους;

10
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀eipen ho Ἰesoys· Poiesate toys anthropous anapesein. en de chortos polys en tῷ topῳ. anepesan oyn ohi andres ton arithmon ⸀hos pentakischilioi.
Edified Edition (EDE)Jesus said, [JESUS]"Make the people sit down."[/JESUS] Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand.

11
Phonetic (Greek): elaben ⸀oyn toys artous ho Ἰesoys kai eycharistesas ⸀diedoken tois anakeimenois, homoios kai ek ton opsarion hoson ethelon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed them to those who were sitting down; and likewise of the fishes, as much as they wanted.

12
Phonetic (Greek): hos de eneplesthesan legei tois mathetais aytoy· Synagagete ta perisseysanta klasmata, hina me ti apoletai.
Edified Edition (EDE)When they were filled, He said to His disciples, [JESUS]"Gather up the fragments that remain, so that nothing may be lost."[/JESUS]

13
Phonetic (Greek): synegagon oyn, kai egemisan dodeka kophinous klasmaton ek ton pente arton ton krithinon ha ⸀eperisseusan tois bebrokosin.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore they gathered them up, and filled twelve baskets with the fragments of the five barley loaves which remained over to those who had eaten.

14
Phonetic (Greek): ohi oyn anthropoi idontes ⸂ho epoiesen semeion⸃ ⸀elegon hoti Ohytos estin alethos ho prophetes ho erchomenos eis ton kosmon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then those men, when they saw the sign that Jesus had done, said, "This is truly the Prophet who was to come into the world."

15
Phonetic (Greek): Ἰesoys oyn gnoys hoti mellousin erchesthai kai harpazein ayton hina ⸀poiesosin basilea anechoresen ⸀palin eis to oros aytos monos.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore when Jesus perceived that they were about to come and take Him by force to make Him king, He withdrew again to the mountain by Himself alone.

16
Phonetic (Greek): Ὡs de opsia egeneto katebesan ohi mathetai aytoy epi ten thalassan,
Edified Edition (EDE)And when evening came, His disciples went down to the sea,

17
Phonetic (Greek): kai embantes ⸀eis ploion erchonto peran tes thalasses eis Kapharnaoym. kai skotia ede egegonei kai ⸀oypo elelythei pros aytoys ho Ἰesoys,
Edified Edition (EDE)and having entered a boat, they were going across the sea to Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.

18
Phonetic (Greek): he te thalassa anemou megalou pneontos ⸀diegeireto.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the sea began to rise because a strong wind was blowing.

19
Phonetic (Greek): elelakotes oyn hos stadious eikosi pente e triakonta theoroysin ton Ἰesoyn peripatoynta epi tes thalasses kai engys toy ploiou ginomenon, kai ephobethesan.
Edified Edition (EDE)So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid.

20
Phonetic (Greek): ho de legei aytois· Ἐgo eimi, me phobeisthe.
Edified Edition (EDE)But He said to them, [JESUS]"It is I; do not be afraid."[/JESUS]

21
Phonetic (Greek): ethelon oyn labein ayton eis to ploion, kai eytheos ⸂egeneto to ploion⸃ epi tes ges eis hen hypegon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.

22
Phonetic (Greek): Tῇ epayrion ho ochlos ho hestekos peran tes thalasses ⸀eidon hoti ploiarion allo oyk en ekei ei me ⸀hen, kai hoti oy syneiselthen tois mathetais aytoy ho Ἰesoys eis to ⸀ploion alla monoi ohi mathetai aytoy apelthon·
Edified Edition (EDE)On the following day, the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except one, and that Jesus had not entered the boat with His disciples, but that His disciples had gone away alone.

23
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀alla elthen ⸀ploiaria ek Tiberiados engys toy topou hopou ephagon ton arton eycharistesantos toy kyriou.
Edified Edition (EDE)(However, other boats came from Tiberias near the place where they ate bread after the Lord had given thanks).

24
Phonetic (Greek): hote oyn eiden ho ochlos hoti Ἰesoys oyk estin ekei oyde ohi mathetai aytoy, enebesan aytoi eis ta ⸀ploiaria kai elthon eis Kapharnaoym zetoyntes ton Ἰesoyn.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, when the multitude saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves entered the boats and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus.

30
Phonetic (Greek): eipon oyn aytῷ· Ti oyn poieis sy semeion, hina idomen kai pisteysomen soi; ti ergazῃ;
