Edified Edition (EDE)Now as Jesus passed by, He saw a man who was blind from birth.

2
Phonetic (Greek): kai erotesan ayton ohi mathetai aytoy legontes· Ῥabbi, tis hemarten, ohytos e ohi goneis aytoy, hina typhlos gennethῇ;
Edified Edition (EDE)And His disciples asked Him, saying, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?"

καὶ ἠρώτησαν αὐτὸν οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ λέγοντες· Ῥαββί, τίς ἥμαρτεν, οὗτος ἢ οἱ γονεῖς αὐτοῦ, ἵνα τυφλὸς γεννηθῇ;

3
Phonetic (Greek): apekrithe Ἰesoys· Oyte ohytos hemarten oyte ohi goneis aytoy, allʼ hina phanerothῇ ta erga toy theoy en aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Jesus answered, [JESUS]"Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him."[/JESUS]

4
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀hemas dei ergazesthai ta erga toy pempsantos me heos hemera estin· erchetai nyx hote oydeis dynatai ergazesthai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work."[/JESUS]

5

6
Phonetic (Greek): tayta eipon eptysen chamai kai epoiesen pelon ek toy ptysmatos, kai ⸀epechrisen ⸀aytoy ton pelon epi toys ⸀ophthalmoys,
Edified Edition (EDE)When He had said these things, He spat on the ground and made clay with the saliva; and He anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay.

Edified Edition (EDE)And He said to him, [JESUS]"Go, wash in the pool of Siloam"[/JESUS] (which is translated, Sent). So he went and washed, and came back seeing.

8
Phonetic (Greek): ohi oyn geitones kai ohi theoroyntes ayton to proteron hoti ⸀prosaites en elegon· Oych ohytos estin ho kathemenos kai prosaiton;
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore the neighbours and those who previously had seen that he was blind said, "Is not this he who sat and begged?"

οἱ οὖν γείτονες καὶ οἱ θεωροῦντες αὐτὸν τὸ πρότερον ὅτι ⸀προσαίτης ἦν ἔλεγον· Οὐχ οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ καθήμενος καὶ προσαιτῶν;

10
Phonetic (Greek): elegon oyn aytῷ· ⸀Pos eneῴchthesan sou ohi ophthalmoi;
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore they said to him, "How were your eyes opened?"

ἔλεγον οὖν αὐτῷ· ⸀Πῶς ἠνεῴχθησάν σου οἱ ὀφθαλμοί;

11
Phonetic (Greek): apekrithe ⸀ekeinos· ⸂Ὁ anthropos ho⸃ legomenos Ἰesoys pelon epoiesen kai epechrisen mou toys ophthalmoys kai eipen moi ⸀hoti Ὕpage eis ⸀ton Siloam kai nipsai· apelthon ⸀oyn kai nipsamenos aneblepsa.
Edified Edition (EDE)He answered and said, "A Man called Jesus made clay and anointed my eyes and said to me, 'Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.' So I went and washed, and I received sight."

12
Phonetic (Greek): ⸂kai eipan⸃ aytῷ· Poy estin ekeinos; legei· Oyk oida.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then they said to him, "Where is He?" He said, "I do not know."

14
Edified Edition (EDE)Now it was a Sabbath when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes.

Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore some of the Pharisees said, "This Man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath." Others said, "How can a man who is a sinner do such signs?" And there was a division among them.
