Edified Edition (EDE)Then He said to the disciples, [JESUS]"It is impossible that no offences should come, but woe to him through whom they do come!"[/JESUS]

Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς ⸀αὐτοῦ· Ἀνένδεκτόν ἐστιν τοῦ ⸂τὰ σκάνδαλα μὴ ἐλθεῖν⸃, ⸂πλὴν οὐαὶ⸃ διʼ οὗ ἔρχεται·

Phonetic (Greek): lysitelei aytῷ ei ⸂lithos mylikos⸃ perikeitai peri ton trachelon aytoy kai erriptai eis ten thalassan e hina skandalisῃ ⸂ton mikron toyton hena⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones.

λυσιτελεῖ αὐτῷ εἰ ⸂λίθος μυλικὸς⸃ περίκειται περὶ τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἔρριπται εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν ἢ ἵνα σκανδαλίσῃ ⸂τῶν μικρῶν τούτων ἕνα⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): prosechete heautois. ean ⸀hamartῃ ho adelphos sou epitimeson aytῷ, kai ean metanoesῃ aphes aytῷ·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him."[/JESUS]

προσέχετε ἑαυτοῖς. ἐὰν ⸀ἁμάρτῃ ὁ ἀδελφός σου ἐπιτίμησον αὐτῷ, καὶ ἐὰν μετανοήσῃ ἄφες αὐτῷ·

Phonetic (Greek): kai ean heptakis tes hemeras ⸀hamartesῃ eis se kai ⸀heptakis epistrepsῃ ⸂pros se⸃ legon· Metanoo, apheseis aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἐὰν ἑπτάκις τῆς ἡμέρας ⸀ἁμαρτήσῃ εἰς σὲ καὶ ⸀ἑπτάκις ἐπιστρέψῃ ⸂πρὸς σὲ⸃ λέγων· Μετανοῶ, ἀφήσεις αὐτῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai eipan ohi apostoloi tῷ kyriῳ· Prosthes hemin pistin.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the apostles said to the Lord, Increase our faith.

Καὶ εἶπαν οἱ ἀπόστολοι τῷ κυρίῳ· Πρόσθες ἡμῖν πίστιν.

Phonetic (Greek): eipen de ho kyrios· Ei echete pistin hos kokkon sinapeos, elegete an tῇ sykaminῳ taytῃ· Ἐkrizotheti kai phyteytheti en tῇ thalassῃ· kai hypekousen an hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)So the LORD said, [JESUS]"If you have faith as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, 'Be pulled up by the roots and be planted in the sea,' and it would obey you."[/JESUS]

εἶπεν δὲ ὁ κύριος· Εἰ ἔχετε πίστιν ὡς κόκκον σινάπεως, ἐλέγετε ἂν τῇ συκαμίνῳ ταύτῃ· Ἐκριζώθητι καὶ φυτεύθητι ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ· καὶ ὑπήκουσεν ἂν ὑμῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): Tis de ex hymon doylon echon arotrionta e poimainonta, hos eiselthonti ek toy agroy erei ⸀aytῷ· Eytheos parelthon anapese,
Edified Edition (EDE)But which of you, having a servant plowing or feeding cattle, will say to him by and by, when he is come from the field, Go and sit down to meat?

Τίς δὲ ἐξ ὑμῶν δοῦλον ἔχων ἀροτριῶντα ἢ ποιμαίνοντα, ὃς εἰσελθόντι ἐκ τοῦ ἀγροῦ ἐρεῖ ⸀αὐτῷ· Εὐθέως παρελθὼν ἀνάπεσε,

Phonetic (Greek): allʼ oychi erei aytῷ· Ἑtoimason ti deipneso kai perizosamenos diakonei moi heos phago kai pio, kai meta tayta phagesai kai piesai sy;
Edified Edition (EDE)And will not rather say to him, Make ready wherewith I may sup, and gird yourself, and serve me, till I have eaten and drunken; and afterward you will eat and drink?

ἀλλʼ οὐχὶ ἐρεῖ αὐτῷ· Ἑτοίμασον τί δειπνήσω καὶ περιζωσάμενος διακόνει μοι ἕως φάγω καὶ πίω, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα φάγεσαι καὶ πίεσαι σύ;

Phonetic (Greek): me ⸂echei charin⸃ tῷ ⸀doylῳ hoti epoiesen ta ⸀diatachthenta;
Edified Edition (EDE)does he thank that servant because he did the things that were commanded him? I trow not.

μὴ ⸂ἔχει χάριν⸃ τῷ ⸀δούλῳ ὅτι ἐποίησεν τὰ ⸀διαταχθέντα;

Phonetic (Greek): ohytos kai hymeis, hotan poiesete panta ta diatachthenta hymin, legete hoti Doyloi achreioi esmen, ⸂ho opheilomen⸃ poiesai pepoiekamen.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"So likewise you, when you have done all those things which you are commanded, say, 'We are unprofitable servants. We have done what was our duty to do.'"[/JESUS]

οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς, ὅταν ποιήσητε πάντα τὰ διαταχθέντα ὑμῖν, λέγετε ὅτι Δοῦλοι ἀχρεῖοί ἐσμεν, ⸂ὃ ὠφείλομεν⸃ ποιῆσαι πεποιήκαμεν.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai egeneto en tῷ ⸀poreyesthai eis Ἰerousalem kai aytos diercheto dia ⸀meson Samareias kai Galilaias.
Edified Edition (EDE)And it came to pass, as he went to Jerusalem, that he passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee.

Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ⸀πορεύεσθαι εἰς Ἰερουσαλὴμ καὶ αὐτὸς διήρχετο διὰ ⸀μέσον Σαμαρείας καὶ Γαλιλαίας.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eiserchomenou aytoy eis tina komen ⸀apentesan deka leproi andres, ohi ⸀estesan porrothen,
Edified Edition (EDE)And as he entered into a certain village, there met him ten men that were lepers, who stood afar off:

καὶ εἰσερχομένου αὐτοῦ εἴς τινα κώμην ⸀ἀπήντησαν δέκα λεπροὶ ἄνδρες, οἳ ⸀ἔστησαν πόρρωθεν,

Phonetic (Greek): kai aytoi eran phonen legontes· Ἰesoy epistata, eleeson hemas.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they lifted up their voices, and said, Jesus, Master, have mercy on us.

καὶ αὐτοὶ ἦραν φωνὴν λέγοντες· Ἰησοῦ ἐπιστάτα, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς.

Phonetic (Greek): kai idon eipen aytois· Poreuthentes epideixate heautoys tois hiereysin. kai egeneto en tῷ hypagein aytoys ekatharisthesan.
Edified Edition (EDE)So when He saw them, He said to them, [JESUS]"Go, show yourselves to the priests."[/JESUS] And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

καὶ ἰδὼν εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Πορευθέντες ἐπιδείξατε ἑαυτοὺς τοῖς ἱερεῦσιν. καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ὑπάγειν αὐτοὺς ἐκαθαρίσθησαν.

Phonetic (Greek): ehis de ex ayton, idon hoti iathe, hypestrepsen meta phones megales doxazon ton theon,
Edified Edition (EDE)And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

εἷς δὲ ἐξ αὐτῶν, ἰδὼν ὅτι ἰάθη, ὑπέστρεψεν μετὰ φωνῆς μεγάλης δοξάζων τὸν θεόν,

Phonetic (Greek): kai epesen epi prosopon para toys podas aytoy eychariston aytῷ· kai aytos en Samarites.
Edified Edition (EDE)And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

καὶ ἔπεσεν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον παρὰ τοὺς πόδας αὐτοῦ εὐχαριστῶν αὐτῷ· καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν Σαμαρίτης.

Phonetic (Greek): apokritheis de ho Ἰesoys eipen· ⸀Oychi ohi deka ekatharisthesan; ohi de ennea poy;
Edified Edition (EDE)So Jesus answered and said, [JESUS]"Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?"[/JESUS]

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· ⸀Οὐχὶ οἱ δέκα ἐκαθαρίσθησαν; οἱ δὲ ἐννέα ποῦ;

Phonetic (Greek): oych ehyrethesan hypostrepsantes doynai doxan tῷ theῷ ei me ho allogenes ohytos;
Edified Edition (EDE)There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

οὐχ εὑρέθησαν ὑποστρέψαντες δοῦναι δόξαν τῷ θεῷ εἰ μὴ ὁ ἀλλογενὴς οὗτος;

Phonetic (Greek): kai eipen aytῷ· Ἀnastas poreyou· he pistis sou sesoken se.
Edified Edition (EDE)And He said to him, [JESUS]"Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well."[/JESUS]

καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ἀναστὰς πορεύου· ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἐperotetheis de hypo ton Pharisaion pote erchetai he basileia toy theoy apekrithe aytois kai eipen· Oyk erchetai he basileia toy theoy meta paratereseos,
Edified Edition (EDE)And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not with observation:

Ἐπερωτηθεὶς δὲ ὑπὸ τῶν Φαρισαίων πότε ἔρχεται ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἀπεκρίθη αὐτοῖς καὶ εἶπεν· Οὐκ ἔρχεται ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ μετὰ παρατηρήσεως,

Phonetic (Greek): oyde eroysin· Ἰdoy hode e· ⸀Ἐkei· idoy gar he basileia toy theoy entos hymon estin.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"nor will they say, 'See here!' or 'See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you."[/JESUS]

οὐδὲ ἐροῦσιν· Ἰδοὺ ὧδε ἤ· ⸀Ἐκεῖ· ἰδοὺ γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἐντὸς ὑμῶν ἐστιν.

Phonetic (Greek): Eipen de pros toys mathetas· Ἐleysontai hemerai hote epithymesete mian ton hemeron toy yhioy toy anthropou idein kai oyk opsesthe.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he said to the disciples, The days will come, when you shall desire to see one of the days of the Son of man, and you shall not seeit.

Εἶπεν δὲ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητάς· Ἐλεύσονται ἡμέραι ὅτε ἐπιθυμήσετε μίαν τῶν ἡμερῶν τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἰδεῖν καὶ οὐκ ὄψεσθε.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eroysin hymin· Ἰdoy ⸂ekei· Ἰdoy hode⸃· me apelthete mede dioxete.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they shall say to you, See here; or, see there: go not after them, nor follow them.

καὶ ἐροῦσιν ὑμῖν· Ἰδοὺ ⸂ἐκεῖ· Ἰδοὺ ὧδε⸃· μὴ ἀπέλθητε μηδὲ διώξητε.

Phonetic (Greek): hosper gar he ⸀astrape astraptousa ek tes ⸂hypo ton⸃ oyranon eis ten hypʼ oyranon lampei, ohytos estai ho yhios toy anthropou ⸂en tῇ hemerᾳ aytoy⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)For as the lightning, that lighteneth out of the one part under heaven, shineth to the other part under heaven; so shall also the Son of man be in his day.

ὥσπερ γὰρ ἡ ⸀ἀστραπὴ ἀστράπτουσα ἐκ τῆς ⸂ὑπὸ τὸν⸃ οὐρανὸν εἰς τὴν ὑπʼ οὐρανὸν λάμπει, οὕτως ἔσται ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ⸂ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ αὐτοῦ⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): proton de dei ayton polla pathein kai apodokimasthenai apo tes geneas taytes.
Edified Edition (EDE)But first must he suffer many things, and be rejected of this generation.

πρῶτον δὲ δεῖ αὐτὸν πολλὰ παθεῖν καὶ ἀποδοκιμασθῆναι ἀπὸ τῆς γενεᾶς ταύτης.

Phonetic (Greek): kai kathos egeneto en tais hemerais Noe, ohytos estai kai en tais hemerais toy yhioy toy anthropou·
Edified Edition (EDE)And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.

καὶ καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Νῶε, οὕτως ἔσται καὶ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου·

Phonetic (Greek): esthion, epinon, egamoun, ⸀egamizonto, achri hes hemeras eiselthen Noe eis ten kiboton, kai elthen ho kataklysmos kai apolesen ⸀pantas.
Edified Edition (EDE)They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.

ἤσθιον, ἔπινον, ἐγάμουν, ⸀ἐγαμίζοντο, ἄχρι ἧς ἡμέρας εἰσῆλθεν Νῶε εἰς τὴν κιβωτόν, καὶ ἦλθεν ὁ κατακλυσμὸς καὶ ἀπώλεσεν ⸀πάντας.

Phonetic (Greek): homoios ⸀kathos egeneto en tais hemerais Lot· esthion, epinon, egorazon, epoloun, ephyteuon, okodomoun·
Edified Edition (EDE)Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;

ὁμοίως ⸀καθὼς ἐγένετο ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις Λώτ· ἤσθιον, ἔπινον, ἠγόραζον, ἐπώλουν, ἐφύτευον, ᾠκοδόμουν·

Phonetic (Greek): he de hemerᾳ exelthen Lot apo Sodomon, ebrexen pyr kai theion apʼ oyranoy kai apolesen ⸀pantas.
Edified Edition (EDE)But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.

ᾗ δὲ ἡμέρᾳ ἐξῆλθεν Λὼτ ἀπὸ Σοδόμων, ἔβρεξεν πῦρ καὶ θεῖον ἀπʼ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἀπώλεσεν ⸀πάντας.

Phonetic (Greek): kata ⸂ta ayta⸃ estai he hemerᾳ ho yhios toy anthropou apokalyptetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.

κατὰ ⸂τὰ αὐτὰ⸃ ἔσται ᾗ ἡμέρᾳ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἀποκαλύπτεται.

Phonetic (Greek): en ekeinῃ tῇ hemerᾳ hos estai epi toy domatos kai ta skeye aytoy en tῇ oikiᾳ, me katabato arai ayta, kai ho ⸀en agrῷ homoios me epistrepsato eis ta opiso.
Edified Edition (EDE)In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.

ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ὃς ἔσται ἐπὶ τοῦ δώματος καὶ τὰ σκεύη αὐτοῦ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, μὴ καταβάτω ἆραι αὐτά, καὶ ὁ ⸀ἐν ἀγρῷ ὁμοίως μὴ ἐπιστρεψάτω εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω.

Edified Edition (EDE)Remember Lot’s wife.

μνημονεύετε τῆς γυναικὸς Λώτ.

Phonetic (Greek): hos ean zetesῃ ten psychen aytoy ⸀peripoiesasthai apolesei ayten, ⸂hos dʼ an⸃ ⸀apolesῃ zῳogonesei ayten.
Edified Edition (EDE)whoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.

ὃς ἐὰν ζητήσῃ τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ ⸀περιποιήσασθαι ἀπολέσει αὐτήν, ⸂ὃς δʼ ἂν⸃ ⸀ἀπολέσῃ ζῳογονήσει αὐτήν.

Phonetic (Greek): lego hymin, taytῃ tῇ nykti esontai dyo epi klines mias, ⸀ho ehis paralemphthesetai kai ho heteros aphethesetai·
Edified Edition (EDE)I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.

λέγω ὑμῖν, ταύτῃ τῇ νυκτὶ ἔσονται δύο ἐπὶ κλίνης μιᾶς, ⸀ὁ εἷς παραλημφθήσεται καὶ ὁ ἕτερος ἀφεθήσεται·

Phonetic (Greek): ⸂esontai dyo⸃ alethousai epi to ayto, ⸀he mia paralemphthesetai ⸂he de⸃ hetera ⸀aphethesetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

⸂ἔσονται δύο⸃ ἀλήθουσαι ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτό, ⸀ἡ μία παραλημφθήσεται ⸂ἡ δὲ⸃ ἑτέρα ⸀ἀφεθήσεται.

Phonetic (Greek): kai apokrithentes legousin aytῷ· Poy, kyrie; ho de eipen aytois· Ὅpou to soma, ekei ⸂kai ohi aetoi episynachthesontai⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they answered and said to him, Where, Lord? And he said to them, Wheresoever the body is, There will the eagles be gathered together.

καὶ ἀποκριθέντες λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Ποῦ, κύριε; ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ὅπου τὸ σῶμα, ἐκεῖ ⸂καὶ οἱ ἀετοὶ ἐπισυναχθήσονται⸃.
