Phonetic (Greek): Ἐgeneto de en tῷ ton ochlon epikeisthai aytῷ ⸀kai akoyein ton logon toy theoy kai aytos en hestos para ten limnen Gennesaret,
Edified Edition (EDE)So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret,

Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τῷ τὸν ὄχλον ἐπικεῖσθαι αὐτῷ ⸀καὶ ἀκούειν τὸν λόγον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν ἑστὼς παρὰ τὴν λίμνην Γεννησαρέτ,

Phonetic (Greek): kai eiden ⸂dyo ploia⸃ hestota para ten limnen, ohi de halieis ⸂apʼ ayton apobantes⸃ ⸀eplynon ta diktya.
Edified Edition (EDE)And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

καὶ εἶδεν ⸂δύο πλοῖα⸃ ἑστῶτα παρὰ τὴν λίμνην, οἱ δὲ ἁλιεῖς ⸂ἀπʼ αὐτῶν ἀποβάντες⸃ ⸀ἔπλυνον τὰ δίκτυα.

Phonetic (Greek): embas de eis hen ton ploion, ho ⸀en Simonos, erotesen ayton apo tes ges epanagagein oligon, ⸂kathisas de ek toy ploiou edidasken⸃ toys ochlous.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he entered into one of the ships, who was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

ἐμβὰς δὲ εἰς ἓν τῶν πλοίων, ὃ ⸀ἦν Σίμωνος, ἠρώτησεν αὐτὸν ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς ἐπαναγαγεῖν ὀλίγον, ⸂καθίσας δὲ ἐκ τοῦ πλοίου ἐδίδασκεν⸃ τοὺς ὄχλους.

Phonetic (Greek): hos de epaysato lalon, eipen pros ton Simona· Ἐpanagage eis to bathos kai chalasate ta diktya hymon eis agran.
Edified Edition (EDE)When He had stopped speaking, He said to Simon, [JESUS]"Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch."[/JESUS]

ὡς δὲ ἐπαύσατο λαλῶν, εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν Σίμωνα· Ἐπανάγαγε εἰς τὸ βάθος καὶ χαλάσατε τὰ δίκτυα ὑμῶν εἰς ἄγραν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai apokritheis ⸀Simon ⸀eipen· Ἐpistata, diʼ ⸀holes nyktos kopiasantes oyden elabomen, epi de tῷ ῥemati sou chalaso ⸂ta diktya⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)And Simon answering said to Him, "Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net."

καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ⸀Σίμων ⸀εἶπεν· Ἐπιστάτα, διʼ ⸀ὅλης νυκτὸς κοπιάσαντες οὐδὲν ἐλάβομεν, ἐπὶ δὲ τῷ ῥήματί σου χαλάσω ⸂τὰ δίκτυα⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): kai toyto poiesantes synekleisan plethos ichthyon poly, ⸀dierresseto de ⸂ta diktya⸃ ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

καὶ τοῦτο ποιήσαντες συνέκλεισαν πλῆθος ἰχθύων πολύ, ⸀διερρήσσετο δὲ ⸂τὰ δίκτυα⸃ αὐτῶν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai kateneusan tois ⸀metochois en tῷ heterῳ ploiῳ toy elthontas syllabesthai aytois· kai elthon, kai eplesan amphotera ta ploia hoste bythizesthai ayta.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they beckoned to their partners, who were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

καὶ κατένευσαν τοῖς ⸀μετόχοις ἐν τῷ ἑτέρῳ πλοίῳ τοῦ ἐλθόντας συλλαβέσθαι αὐτοῖς· καὶ ἦλθον, καὶ ἔπλησαν ἀμφότερα τὰ πλοῖα ὥστε βυθίζεσθαι αὐτά.

Phonetic (Greek): idon de Simon Petros prosepesen tois gonasin Ἰesoy legon· Ἔxelthe apʼ emoy, hoti aner hamartolos eimi, kyrie·
Edified Edition (EDE)When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, "Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord."

ἰδὼν δὲ Σίμων Πέτρος προσέπεσεν τοῖς γόνασιν Ἰησοῦ λέγων· Ἔξελθε ἀπʼ ἐμοῦ, ὅτι ἀνὴρ ἁμαρτωλός εἰμι, κύριε·

Phonetic (Greek): thambos gar perieschen ayton kai pantas toys syn aytῷ epi tῇ agrᾳ ton ichthyon ⸀hon synelabon,
Edified Edition (EDE)For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

θάμβος γὰρ περιέσχεν αὐτὸν καὶ πάντας τοὺς σὺν αὐτῷ ἐπὶ τῇ ἄγρᾳ τῶν ἰχθύων ⸀ὧν συνέλαβον,

Phonetic (Greek): homoios de kai Ἰakobon kai Ἰoannen yhioys Zebedaiou, ohi esan koinonoi tῷ Simoni. kai eipen pros ton Simona ⸀ho Ἰesoys· Me phoboy· apo toy nyn anthropous esῃ zogron.
Edified Edition (EDE)and so also were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said to Simon, [JESUS]"Do not be afraid. From now on you will catch men."[/JESUS]

ὁμοίως δὲ καὶ Ἰάκωβον καὶ Ἰωάννην υἱοὺς Ζεβεδαίου, οἳ ἦσαν κοινωνοὶ τῷ Σίμωνι. καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς τὸν Σίμωνα ⸀ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Μὴ φοβοῦ· ἀπὸ τοῦ νῦν ἀνθρώπους ἔσῃ ζωγρῶν.

Edified Edition (EDE)And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

καὶ καταγαγόντες τὰ πλοῖα ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ἀφέντες ⸀πάντα ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai egeneto en tῷ einai ayton en miᾷ ton poleon kai idoy aner pleres lepras· ⸂kai idon⸃ ton Ἰesoyn peson epi prosopon edeethe aytoy legon· Kyrie, ean thelῃs dynasai me katharisai.
Edified Edition (EDE)And it came to pass, when He was in a certain city, behold a man full of leprosy: who seeing Jesus fell on his face, and besought Him, saying, "Lord, if You will, You can make me clean."

Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἶναι αὐτὸν ἐν μιᾷ τῶν πόλεων καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ πλήρης λέπρας· ⸂καὶ ἰδὼν⸃ τὸν Ἰησοῦν πεσὼν ἐπὶ πρόσωπον ἐδεήθη αὐτοῦ λέγων· Κύριε, ἐὰν θέλῃς δύνασαί με καθαρίσαι.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ekteinas ten cheira hepsato aytoy ⸀eipon· Thelo, katharistheti· kai eytheos he lepra apelthen apʼ aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then He put out His hand and touched him, saying, [JESUS]"I am willing; be cleansed."[/JESUS] Immediately the leprosy left him.

καὶ ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἥψατο αὐτοῦ ⸀εἰπών· Θέλω, καθαρίσθητι· καὶ εὐθέως ἡ λέπρα ἀπῆλθεν ἀπʼ αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai aytos parengeilen aytῷ medeni eipein, alla apelthon deixon seauton tῷ hierei, kai prosenenke peri toy katharismoy sou kathos prosetaxen Moyses eis martyrion aytois.
Edified Edition (EDE)And He charged him to tell no man: [JESUS]"But go, and show yourself to the priest, and offer for your cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony to them."[/JESUS]

καὶ αὐτὸς παρήγγειλεν αὐτῷ μηδενὶ εἰπεῖν, ἀλλὰ ἀπελθὼν δεῖξον σεαυτὸν τῷ ἱερεῖ, καὶ προσένεγκε περὶ τοῦ καθαρισμοῦ σου καθὼς προσέταξεν Μωϋσῆς εἰς μαρτύριον αὐτοῖς.

Phonetic (Greek): diercheto de mallon ho logos peri aytoy, kai synerchonto ochloi polloi akoyein kai ⸀therapeyesthai apo ton astheneion ayton·
Edified Edition (EDE)But so much the more went there a fame abroad of him: and great multitudes came together to hear, and to be healed by him of their infirmities.

διήρχετο δὲ μᾶλλον ὁ λόγος περὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ συνήρχοντο ὄχλοι πολλοὶ ἀκούειν καὶ ⸀θεραπεύεσθαι ἀπὸ τῶν ἀσθενειῶν αὐτῶν·

Edified Edition (EDE)And he withdrew himself into the wilderness, and prayed.

αὐτὸς δὲ ἦν ὑποχωρῶν ἐν ταῖς ἐρήμοις καὶ προσευχόμενος.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai egeneto en miᾷ ton hemeron kai aytos en didaskon, kai esan kathemenoi Pharisaioi kai nomodidaskaloi ohi esan elelythotes ek pases komes tes Galilaias kai Ἰoudaias kai Ἰerousalem· kai dynamis kyriou en eis to iasthai ⸀ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)And it came to pass on a certain day, as he was teaching, that there were Pharisees and doctors of the law sitting by, who were come out of every town of Galilee, and Judaea, and Jerusalem: and the power of the Lord was present to heal them.

Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν μιᾷ τῶν ἡμερῶν καὶ αὐτὸς ἦν διδάσκων, καὶ ἦσαν καθήμενοι Φαρισαῖοι καὶ νομοδιδάσκαλοι οἳ ἦσαν ἐληλυθότες ἐκ πάσης κώμης τῆς Γαλιλαίας καὶ Ἰουδαίας καὶ Ἰερουσαλήμ· καὶ δύναμις κυρίου ἦν εἰς τὸ ἰᾶσθαι ⸀αὐτόν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai idoy andres pherontes epi klines anthropon hos en paralelymenos, kai ezetoun ayton eisenenkein kai ⸀theinai enopion aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And, behold, men brought in a bed a man which was taken with a palsy: and they sought means to bring him in, and to lay him before him.

καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄνδρες φέροντες ἐπὶ κλίνης ἄνθρωπον ὃς ἦν παραλελυμένος, καὶ ἐζήτουν αὐτὸν εἰσενεγκεῖν καὶ ⸀θεῖναι ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai me ehyrontes poias eisenenkosin ayton dia ton ochlon anabantes epi to doma dia ton keramon kathekan ayton syn tῷ klinidiῳ eis to meson emprosthen toy Ἰesoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when they could not find by what way they might bring him in because of the multitude, they went upon the housetop, and let him down through the tiling with his couch into the midst before Jesus.

καὶ μὴ εὑρόντες ποίας εἰσενέγκωσιν αὐτὸν διὰ τὸν ὄχλον ἀναβάντες ἐπὶ τὸ δῶμα διὰ τῶν κεράμων καθῆκαν αὐτὸν σὺν τῷ κλινιδίῳ εἰς τὸ μέσον ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ Ἰησοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai idon ten pistin ayton ⸀eipen· Ἄnthrope, apheontai soi ahi hamartiai sou.
Edified Edition (EDE)When He saw their faith, He said to him, [JESUS]"Man, your sins are forgiven you."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἰδὼν τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν ⸀εἶπεν· Ἄνθρωπε, ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου.

Phonetic (Greek): kai erxanto dialogizesthai ohi grammateis kai ohi Pharisaioi legontes· Tis estin ohytos hos lalei blasphemias; tis dynatai ⸂hamartias apheinai⸃ ei me monos ho theos;
Edified Edition (EDE)And the scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this which speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"

καὶ ἤρξαντο διαλογίζεσθαι οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι λέγοντες· Τίς ἐστιν οὗτος ὃς λαλεῖ βλασφημίας; τίς δύναται ⸂ἁμαρτίας ἀφεῖναι⸃ εἰ μὴ μόνος ὁ θεός;

Phonetic (Greek): epignoys de ho Ἰesoys toys dialogismoys ayton apokritheis eipen pros aytoys· Ti dialogizesthe en tais kardiais hymon;
Edified Edition (EDE)But when Jesus perceived their thoughts, He answering said to them, [JESUS]"What reason you in your hearts?"[/JESUS]

ἐπιγνοὺς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς αὐτῶν ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Τί διαλογίζεσθε ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;

Phonetic (Greek): ti estin eykopoteron, eipein· Ἀpheontai soi ahi hamartiai sou, e eipein· ⸀Ἔgeire kai peripatei;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Whether is easier, to say, Your sins be forgiven you; or to say, Rise up and walk?"[/JESUS]

τί ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν· Ἀφέωνταί σοι αἱ ἁμαρτίαι σου, ἢ εἰπεῖν· ⸀Ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει;

Phonetic (Greek): hina de eidete hoti ⸂ho yhios toy anthropou exousian echei⸃ epi tes ges aphienai hamartias— eipen tῷ paralelymenῳ· Soi lego, ⸀egeire kai aras to klinidion sou poreyou eis ton oikon sou.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But that you may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins,"[/JESUS] (He said to the sick of the palsy,) [JESUS]"I say to you, Arise, and take up your couch, and go into your house."[/JESUS]

ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ⸂ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐξουσίαν ἔχει⸃ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας— εἶπεν τῷ παραλελυμένῳ· Σοὶ λέγω, ⸀ἔγειρε καὶ ἄρας τὸ κλινίδιόν σου πορεύου εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου.

Phonetic (Greek): kai parachrema anastas enopion ayton, aras ephʼ ho katekeito, apelthen eis ton oikon aytoy doxazon ton theon.
Edified Edition (EDE)And immediately he rose up before them, and took up that whereon he lay, and departed to his own house, glorifying God.

καὶ παραχρῆμα ἀναστὰς ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν, ἄρας ἐφʼ ὃ κατέκειτο, ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ δοξάζων τὸν θεόν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ekstasis elaben hapantas kai edoxazon ton theon, kai eplesthesan phobou legontes hoti Eidomen paradoxa semeron.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they were all amazed, and they glorified God, and were filled with fear, saying, We have seen strange things today.

καὶ ἔκστασις ἔλαβεν ἅπαντας καὶ ἐδόξαζον τὸν θεόν, καὶ ἐπλήσθησαν φόβου λέγοντες ὅτι Εἴδομεν παράδοξα σήμερον.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai meta tayta exelthen kai etheasato telonen onomati Leuin kathemenon epi to telonion, kai eipen aytῷ· Ἀkoloythei moi.
Edified Edition (EDE)After these things He went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, [JESUS]"Follow Me."[/JESUS]

Καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξῆλθεν καὶ ἐθεάσατο τελώνην ὀνόματι Λευὶν καθήμενον ἐπὶ τὸ τελώνιον, καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ἀκολούθει μοι.

Phonetic (Greek): kai katalipon ⸀panta anastas ⸀ekoloythei aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he left all, rose up, and followed him.

καὶ καταλιπὼν ⸀πάντα ἀναστὰς ⸀ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai epoiesen dochen megalen Leuis aytῷ en tῇ oikiᾳ aytoy· kai en ochlos ⸂polys telonon⸃ kai allon ohi esan metʼ ayton katakeimenoi.
Edified Edition (EDE)And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them.

Καὶ ἐποίησεν δοχὴν μεγάλην Λευὶς αὐτῷ ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ αὐτοῦ· καὶ ἦν ὄχλος ⸂πολὺς τελωνῶν⸃ καὶ ἄλλων οἳ ἦσαν μετʼ αὐτῶν κατακείμενοι.

Phonetic (Greek): kai egongyzon ohi ⸂Pharisaioi kai ohi grammateis ayton⸃ pros toys mathetas aytoy legontes· Dia ti meta ton telonon kai hamartolon esthiete kai pinete;
Edified Edition (EDE)But their scribes and Pharisees murmured against His disciples, saying, "Why do you eat and drink with publicans and sinners?"

καὶ ἐγόγγυζον οἱ ⸂Φαρισαῖοι καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς αὐτῶν⸃ πρὸς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ λέγοντες· Διὰ τί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίετε καὶ πίνετε;

Phonetic (Greek): kai apokritheis ho Ἰesoys eipen pros aytoys· Oy chreian echousin ohi hygiainontes iatroy alla ohi kakos echontes·
Edified Edition (EDE)Jesus answered and said to them, [JESUS]"Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ὑγιαίνοντες ἰατροῦ ἀλλὰ οἱ κακῶς ἔχοντες·

Phonetic (Greek): oyk elelytha kalesai dikaious alla hamartoloys eis metanoian.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."[/JESUS]

οὐκ ἐλήλυθα καλέσαι δικαίους ἀλλὰ ἁμαρτωλοὺς εἰς μετάνοιαν.

Phonetic (Greek): Ohi de eipan pros ayton· ⸀Ohi mathetai Ἰoannou nesteyousin pykna kai deeseis poioyntai, homoios kai ohi ton Pharisaion, ohi de soi esthiousin kai pinousin.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they said to Him, "Why do the disciples of John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees; but yours eat and drink?"

Οἱ δὲ εἶπαν πρὸς αὐτόν· ⸀Οἱ μαθηταὶ Ἰωάννου νηστεύουσιν πυκνὰ καὶ δεήσεις ποιοῦνται, ὁμοίως καὶ οἱ τῶν Φαρισαίων, οἱ δὲ σοὶ ἐσθίουσιν καὶ πίνουσιν.

Phonetic (Greek): ho ⸀de eipen pros aytoys· Me dynasthe toys yhioys toy nymphonos en ho ho nymphios metʼ ayton estin poiesai ⸀nesteysai;
Edified Edition (EDE)And He said to them, [JESUS]"Can you make the children of the bridechamber fast, while the bridegroom is with them?"[/JESUS]

ὁ ⸀δὲ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτούς· Μὴ δύνασθε τοὺς υἱοὺς τοῦ νυμφῶνος ἐν ᾧ ὁ νυμφίος μετʼ αὐτῶν ἐστιν ποιῆσαι ⸀νηστεῦσαι;

Phonetic (Greek): eleysontai de hemerai, kai hotan aparthῇ apʼ ayton ho nymphios tote nesteysousin en ekeinais tais hemerais.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken away from them, and then shall they fast in those days."[/JESUS]

ἐλεύσονται δὲ ἡμέραι, καὶ ὅταν ἀπαρθῇ ἀπʼ αὐτῶν ὁ νυμφίος τότε νηστεύσουσιν ἐν ἐκείναις ταῖς ἡμέραις.

Phonetic (Greek): elegen de kai parabolen pros aytoys hoti Oydeis epiblema ⸀apo himatiou kainoy ⸀schisas epiballei epi himation palaion· ei de mege, kai to kainon ⸀schisei kai tῷ palaiῷ oy ⸂symphonesei to epiblema⸃ to apo toy kainoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And He spoke also a parable to them; [JESUS]"No man puts a piece of a new garment upon an old; if otherwise, then both the new makes a rent, and the piece that was taken out of the new agrees not with the old."[/JESUS]

ἔλεγεν δὲ καὶ παραβολὴν πρὸς αὐτοὺς ὅτι Οὐδεὶς ἐπίβλημα ⸀ἀπὸ ἱματίου καινοῦ ⸀σχίσας ἐπιβάλλει ἐπὶ ἱμάτιον παλαιόν· εἰ δὲ μήγε, καὶ τὸ καινὸν ⸀σχίσει καὶ τῷ παλαιῷ οὐ ⸂συμφωνήσει τὸ ἐπίβλημα⸃ τὸ ἀπὸ τοῦ καινοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai oydeis ballei oinon neon eis askoys palaioys· ei de mege, ῥexei ho ⸂oinos ho neos⸃ toys askoys, kai aytos ekchythesetai kai ohi askoi apoloyntai·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And no man puts new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall be ruined."[/JESUS]
