Phonetic (Greek): Ἐgeneto de en ⸀sabbatῳ diaporeyesthai ayton ⸀dia sporimon, kai etillon ohi mathetai aytoy ⸂kai esthion toys stachyas⸃ psochontes tais chersin.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now it happened on the second Sabbath after the first that He went through the grainfields. And His disciples plucked the heads of grain and ate them, rubbing them in their hands.

Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν ⸀σαββάτῳ διαπορεύεσθαι αὐτὸν ⸀διὰ σπορίμων, καὶ ἔτιλλον οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ ⸂καὶ ἤσθιον τοὺς στάχυας⸃ ψώχοντες ταῖς χερσίν.

Phonetic (Greek): tines de ton Pharisaion ⸀eipan· Ti poieite ho oyk ⸀exestin tois sabbasin;
Edified Edition (EDE)And certain of the Pharisees said to them, "Why do you that which is not lawful to do on the sabbath days?"

τινὲς δὲ τῶν Φαρισαίων ⸀εἶπαν· Τί ποιεῖτε ὃ οὐκ ⸀ἔξεστιν τοῖς σάββασιν;

Phonetic (Greek): kai apokritheis pros aytoys eipen ho Ἰesoys· Oyde toyto anegnote ho epoiesen Dauid ⸀hopote epeinasen aytos kai ohi metʼ aytoy ⸀ontes;
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus answering them said, [JESUS]"Have you not read so much as this, what David did, when himself was an hungered, and they which were with him;"[/JESUS]

καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἶπεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Οὐδὲ τοῦτο ἀνέγνωτε ὃ ἐποίησεν Δαυὶδ ⸀ὁπότε ἐπείνασεν αὐτὸς καὶ οἱ μετʼ αὐτοῦ ⸀ὄντες;

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀hos eiselthen eis ton oikon toy theoy kai toys artous tes protheseos ⸀labon ephagen kai ⸀edoken tois metʼ aytoy, ohys oyk exestin phagein ei me monous toys hiereis;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"How he went into the house of God, and did take and eat the sacred bread, and gave also to them that were with him; which it is not lawful to eat but for the priests alone?"[/JESUS]

⸀ὡς εἰσῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους τῆς προθέσεως ⸀λαβὼν ἔφαγεν καὶ ⸀ἔδωκεν τοῖς μετʼ αὐτοῦ, οὓς οὐκ ἔξεστιν φαγεῖν εἰ μὴ μόνους τοὺς ἱερεῖς;

Phonetic (Greek): kai elegen ⸀aytois· Kyrios estin ⸂toy sabbatou ho yhios toy anthropou⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)And He said to them, [JESUS]"The Son of Man is also Lord of the Sabbath."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἔλεγεν ⸀αὐτοῖς· Κύριός ἐστιν ⸂τοῦ σαββάτου ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἐgeneto ⸀de en heterῳ sabbatῳ eiselthein ayton eis ten synagogen kai didaskein· kai en ⸂anthropos ekei⸃ kai he cheir aytoy he dexia en xera·
Edified Edition (EDE)And it came to pass also on another sabbath, that he entered into the synagogue and taught: and there was a man whose right hand was withered.

Ἐγένετο ⸀δὲ ἐν ἑτέρῳ σαββάτῳ εἰσελθεῖν αὐτὸν εἰς τὴν συναγωγὴν καὶ διδάσκειν· καὶ ἦν ⸂ἄνθρωπος ἐκεῖ⸃ καὶ ἡ χεὶρ αὐτοῦ ἡ δεξιὰ ἦν ξηρά·

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀pareteroynto ⸀de ohi grammateis kai ohi Pharisaioi ei en tῷ sabbatῳ ⸀therapeyei, hina ehyrosin ⸀kategorein aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the scribes and Pharisees watched him, whether he would heal on the sabbath day; that they might find an accusation against him.

⸀παρετηροῦντο ⸀δὲ οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι εἰ ἐν τῷ σαββάτῳ ⸀θεραπεύει, ἵνα εὕρωσιν ⸀κατηγορεῖν αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): aytos de edei toys dialogismoys ayton, ⸂eipen de⸃ tῷ ⸀andri tῷ xeran echonti ten cheira· ⸀Ἔgeire kai stethi eis to meson· ⸀kai anastas este.
Edified Edition (EDE)But he knew their thoughts, and said to the man which had the withered hand, Rise up, and stand forth in the midst. And he arose and stood forth.

αὐτὸς δὲ ᾔδει τοὺς διαλογισμοὺς αὐτῶν, ⸂εἶπεν δὲ⸃ τῷ ⸀ἀνδρὶ τῷ ξηρὰν ἔχοντι τὴν χεῖρα· ⸀Ἔγειρε καὶ στῆθι εἰς τὸ μέσον· ⸀καὶ ἀναστὰς ἔστη.

Phonetic (Greek): eipen ⸀de ho Ἰesoys pros aytoys· ⸀Ἐperoto hymas, ⸀ei exestin ⸂tῷ sabbatῳ⸃ agathopoiesai e kakopoiesai, psychen sosai e ⸀apolesai;
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Jesus said to them, [JESUS]"I will ask you one thing: Is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do evil, to save life or to destroy it?"[/JESUS]

εἶπεν ⸀δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς πρὸς αὐτούς· ⸀Ἐπερωτῶ ὑμᾶς, ⸀εἰ ἔξεστιν ⸂τῷ σαββάτῳ⸃ ἀγαθοποιῆσαι ἢ κακοποιῆσαι, ψυχὴν σῶσαι ἢ ⸀ἀπολέσαι;

Phonetic (Greek): kai periblepsamenos pantas aytoys eipen aytῷ· Ἔkteinon ten cheira sou· ho de epoiesen, kai apekatestathe he cheir ⸀aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when He had looked around at them all, He said to the man, [JESUS]"Stretch out your hand."[/JESUS] And he did so, and his hand was restored as whole as the other.

καὶ περιβλεψάμενος πάντας αὐτοὺς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ἔκτεινον τὴν χεῖρά σου· ὁ δὲ ἐποίησεν, καὶ ἀπεκατεστάθη ἡ χεὶρ ⸀αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): aytoi de eplesthesan anoias, kai dielaloun pros allelous ti an poiesaien tῷ Ἰesoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they were filled with madness; and communed one with another what they might do to Jesus.

αὐτοὶ δὲ ἐπλήσθησαν ἀνοίας, καὶ διελάλουν πρὸς ἀλλήλους τί ἂν ποιήσαιεν τῷ Ἰησοῦ.

Edified Edition (EDE)And it came to pass in those days, that he went out into a mountain to pray, and continued all night in prayer to God.

Ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ταύταις ⸂ἐξελθεῖν αὐτὸν⸃ εἰς τὸ ὄρος προσεύξασθαι, καὶ ἦν διανυκτερεύων ἐν τῇ προσευχῇ τοῦ θεοῦ.

Edified Edition (EDE)And when it was day, He called His disciples to Himself; and from them He chose twelve whom He also named apostles:

καὶ ὅτε ἐγένετο ἡμέρα, προσεφώνησεν τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ, καὶ ἐκλεξάμενος ἀπʼ αὐτῶν δώδεκα, οὓς καὶ ἀποστόλους ὠνόμασεν,

Edified Edition (EDE)Matthew and Thomas, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon called Zelotes,

Edified Edition (EDE)And he came down with them, and stood in the plain, and the company of his disciples, and a great multitude of people out of all Judaea and Jerusalem, and from the sea coast of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear him, and to be healed of their diseases;

Καὶ καταβὰς μετʼ αὐτῶν ἔστη ἐπὶ τόπου πεδινοῦ, καὶ ὄχλος ⸀πολὺς μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ, καὶ πλῆθος πολὺ τοῦ λαοῦ ἀπὸ πάσης τῆς Ἰουδαίας καὶ Ἰερουσαλὴμ καὶ τῆς παραλίου Τύρου καὶ Σιδῶνος,

Edified Edition (EDE)And they that were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed.

οἳ ἦλθον ἀκοῦσαι αὐτοῦ καὶ ἰαθῆναι ἀπὸ τῶν νόσων αὐτῶν· καὶ οἱ ⸂ἐνοχλούμενοι ἀπὸ⸃ πνευμάτων ⸀ἀκαθάρτων ἐθεραπεύοντο·

Edified Edition (EDE)And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.

καὶ πᾶς ὁ ὄχλος ⸀ἐζήτουν ἅπτεσθαι αὐτοῦ, ὅτι δύναμις παρʼ αὐτοῦ ἐξήρχετο καὶ ἰᾶτο πάντας.

Edified Edition (EDE)Then He lifted up His eyes toward His disciples and said: [JESUS]"Blessed are you poor, for yours is the kingdom of God."[/JESUS]

Καὶ αὐτὸς ἐπάρας τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτοῦ εἰς τοὺς μαθητὰς αὐτοῦ ἔλεγεν· Μακάριοι οἱ πτωχοί, ὅτι ὑμετέρα ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): makarioi ohi peinontes nyn, hoti chortasthesesthe. makarioi ohi klaiontes nyn, hoti gelasete.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Blessed are you that hunger now: for you shall be filled. Blessed are you that weep now: for you shall laugh."[/JESUS]

μακάριοι οἱ πεινῶντες νῦν, ὅτι χορτασθήσεσθε. μακάριοι οἱ κλαίοντες νῦν, ὅτι γελάσετε.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Blessed are you, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake."[/JESUS]

Μακάριοί ἐστε ὅταν μισήσωσιν ὑμᾶς οἱ ἄνθρωποι, καὶ ὅταν ἀφορίσωσιν ὑμᾶς καὶ ὀνειδίσωσιν καὶ ἐκβάλωσιν τὸ ὄνομα ὑμῶν ὡς πονηρὸν ἕνεκα τοῦ υἱοῦ τοῦ ἀνθρώπου·

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Rejoice you in that day, and leap for joy: for, behold, your reward is great in heaven: for in the like manner did their fathers to the prophets."[/JESUS]

χάρητε ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ καὶ σκιρτήσατε, ἰδοὺ γὰρ ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολὺς ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ· κατὰ ⸂τὰ αὐτὰ⸃ γὰρ ἐποίουν τοῖς προφήταις οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Woe to you that are full! for you shall hunger. Woe to you that laugh now! for you shall mourn and weep."[/JESUS]

οὐαὶ ὑμῖν, οἱ ἐμπεπλησμένοι ⸀νῦν, ὅτι πεινάσετε. ⸀οὐαί, οἱ γελῶντες νῦν, ὅτι πενθήσετε καὶ κλαύσετε.

Οὐαὶ ὅταν ⸂καλῶς ὑμᾶς⸃ εἴπωσιν ⸀πάντες οἱ ἄνθρωποι, κατὰ ⸂τὰ αὐτὰ⸃ γὰρ ἐποίουν τοῖς ψευδοπροφήταις οἱ πατέρες αὐτῶν.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,"[/JESUS]

Ἀλλὰ ὑμῖν λέγω τοῖς ἀκούουσιν, ἀγαπᾶτε τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ὑμῶν, καλῶς ποιεῖτε τοῖς μισοῦσιν ὑμᾶς,

εὐλογεῖτε τοὺς καταρωμένους ⸀ὑμᾶς, προσεύχεσθε ⸀περὶ τῶν ἐπηρεαζόντων ὑμᾶς.

τῷ τύπτοντί σε ἐπὶ τὴν σιαγόνα πάρεχε καὶ τὴν ἄλλην, καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἴροντός σου τὸ ἱμάτιον καὶ τὸν χιτῶνα μὴ κωλύσῃς.

⸀παντὶ αἰτοῦντί σε δίδου, καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ αἴροντος τὰ σὰ μὴ ἀπαίτει.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise."[/JESUS]

καὶ καθὼς θέλετε ἵνα ποιῶσιν ὑμῖν οἱ ⸀ἄνθρωποι, ποιεῖτε αὐτοῖς ὁμοίως.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"For if you love those who love you, what thank have you? for sinners also love those that love them."[/JESUS]

Καὶ εἰ ἀγαπᾶτε τοὺς ἀγαπῶντας ὑμᾶς, ποία ὑμῖν χάρις ἐστίν; καὶ γὰρ οἱ ἁμαρτωλοὶ τοὺς ἀγαπῶντας αὐτοὺς ἀγαπῶσιν.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And if you do good to those who do good to you, what thank have you? for sinners also do even the same."[/JESUS]

⸀καὶ ἐὰν ἀγαθοποιῆτε τοὺς ἀγαθοποιοῦντας ὑμᾶς, ποία ὑμῖν χάρις ἐστίν; ⸁καὶ οἱ ἁμαρτωλοὶ τὸ αὐτὸ ποιοῦσιν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ean ⸀danisete parʼ hon elpizete ⸀labein, poia hymin charis estin; ⸀kai hamartoloi hamartolois danizousin hina apolabosin ta isa.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And if you lend to them of whom you hope to receive, what thank have you? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἐὰν ⸀δανίσητε παρʼ ὧν ἐλπίζετε ⸀λαβεῖν, ποία ὑμῖν χάρις ἐστίν; ⸀καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἁμαρτωλοῖς δανίζουσιν ἵνα ἀπολάβωσιν τὰ ἴσα.

Phonetic (Greek): plen agapate toys echthroys hymon kai agathopoieite kai danizete meden apelpizontes· kai estai ho misthos hymon polys, kai esesthe yhioi Ὑpsistou, hoti aytos chrestos estin epi toys acharistous kai poneroys.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But love you your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and you shall be the children of the Highest: for He is kind to the unthankful and to the evil."[/JESUS]

πλὴν ἀγαπᾶτε τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ὑμῶν καὶ ἀγαθοποιεῖτε καὶ δανίζετε μηδὲν ἀπελπίζοντες· καὶ ἔσται ὁ μισθὸς ὑμῶν πολύς, καὶ ἔσεσθε υἱοὶ Ὑψίστου, ὅτι αὐτὸς χρηστός ἐστιν ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀχαρίστους καὶ πονηρούς.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful."[/JESUS]

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Judge not, and you shall not be judged: condemn not, and you shall not be condemned: forgive, and you shall be forgiven:"[/JESUS]

Καὶ μὴ κρίνετε, καὶ οὐ μὴ κριθῆτε· ⸀καὶ μὴ καταδικάζετε, καὶ οὐ μὴ καταδικασθῆτε. ἀπολύετε, καὶ ἀπολυθήσεσθε·

Phonetic (Greek): didote, kai dothesetai hymin· metron kalon pepiesmenon ⸀sesaleumenon hyperekchynnomenon dosousin eis ton kolpon hymon· ⸂ho gar metrῳ⸃ metreite antimetrethesetai hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Give, and it shall be given to you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use it shall be measured to you again."[/JESUS]

δίδοτε, καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν· μέτρον καλὸν πεπιεσμένον ⸀σεσαλευμένον ὑπερεκχυννόμενον δώσουσιν εἰς τὸν κόλπον ὑμῶν· ⸂ᾧ γὰρ μέτρῳ⸃ μετρεῖτε ἀντιμετρηθήσεται ὑμῖν.
