Phonetic (Greek): Kai ekeithen anastas erchetai eis ta horia tes Ἰoudaias ⸀kai peran toy Ἰordanou, kai symporeyontai palin ochloi pros ayton, kai hos eiothei palin edidasken aytoys.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then He arose from there and came to the region of Judea by the other side of the Jordan. And multitudes gathered to Him again, and as He was accustomed, He taught them again.

Καὶ ἐκεῖθεν ἀναστὰς ἔρχεται εἰς τὰ ὅρια τῆς Ἰουδαίας ⸀καὶ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, καὶ συμπορεύονται πάλιν ὄχλοι πρὸς αὐτόν, καὶ ὡς εἰώθει πάλιν ἐδίδασκεν αὐτούς.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀Kai ⸀eperoton ayton ei exestin andri gynaika apolysai, peirazontes ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

⸀Καὶ ⸀ἐπηρώτων αὐτὸν εἰ ἔξεστιν ἀνδρὶ γυναῖκα ἀπολῦσαι, πειράζοντες αὐτόν.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de apokritheis eipen aytois· Ti hymin eneteilato Moyses;
Edified Edition (EDE)And He answered and said to them, [JESUS]"What did Moses command you?"[/JESUS]

ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Τί ὑμῖν ἐνετείλατο Μωϋσῆς;

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de eipan· ⸂Ἐpetrepsen Moyses⸃ biblion apostasiou grapsai kai apolysai.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they said, "Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away."

οἱ δὲ εἶπαν· ⸂Ἐπέτρεψεν Μωϋσῆς⸃ βιβλίον ἀποστασίου γράψαι καὶ ἀπολῦσαι.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸂ho de⸃ Ἰesoys eipen aytois· Pros ten sklerokardian hymon egrapsen hymin ten entolen tayten·
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus answered and said to them, [JESUS]"For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept."[/JESUS]

⸂ὁ δὲ⸃ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Πρὸς τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν ὑμῶν ἔγραψεν ὑμῖν τὴν ἐντολὴν ταύτην·

Phonetic (Greek): apo de arches ktiseos arsen kai thely epoiesen ⸀aytoys·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female."[/JESUS]

ἀπὸ δὲ ἀρχῆς κτίσεως ἄρσεν καὶ θῆλυ ἐποίησεν ⸀αὐτούς·

Phonetic (Greek): heneken toytou kataleipsei anthropos ton patera aytoy kai ten metera ⸂kai proskollethesetai pros ten gynaika aytoy⸃,
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;"[/JESUS]

ἕνεκεν τούτου καταλείψει ἄνθρωπος τὸν πατέρα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν μητέρα ⸂καὶ προσκολληθήσεται πρὸς τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ⸃,

Phonetic (Greek): kai esontai ohi dyo eis sarka mian· hoste oyketi eisin dyo alla mia sarx·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἔσονται οἱ δύο εἰς σάρκα μίαν· ὥστε οὐκέτι εἰσὶν δύο ἀλλὰ μία σάρξ·

Phonetic (Greek): ho oyn ho theos synezeuxen anthropos me chorizeto.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate."[/JESUS]

ὃ οὖν ὁ θεὸς συνέζευξεν ἄνθρωπος μὴ χωριζέτω.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai ⸂eis ten oikian⸃ palin ohi mathetai ⸂peri toytou⸃ ⸀eperoton ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.

Καὶ ⸂εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν⸃ πάλιν οἱ μαθηταὶ ⸂περὶ τούτου⸃ ⸀ἐπηρώτων αὐτόν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai legei aytois· Ὃs ⸀an apolysῃ ten gynaika aytoy kai gamesῃ allen moichatai epʼ ayten,
Edified Edition (EDE)And He says to them, [JESUS]"Whoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, commits adultery against her."[/JESUS]

καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Ὃς ⸀ἂν ἀπολύσῃ τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ καὶ γαμήσῃ ἄλλην μοιχᾶται ἐπʼ αὐτήν,

Phonetic (Greek): kai ean ⸂ayte apolysasa ton andra aytes gamesῃ allon⸃ moichatai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she commits adultery."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἐὰν ⸂αὐτὴ ἀπολύσασα τὸν ἄνδρα αὐτῆς γαμήσῃ ἄλλον⸃ μοιχᾶται.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai prosepheron aytῷ paidia hina ⸂ayton hapsetai⸃· ohi de mathetai ⸂epetimesan aytois⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

Καὶ προσέφερον αὐτῷ παιδία ἵνα ⸂αὐτῶν ἅψηται⸃· οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ ⸂ἐπετίμησαν αὐτοῖς⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): idon de ho Ἰesoys eganaktesen kai eipen aytois· Ἄphete ta paidia erchesthai pros me, me kolyete ayta, ton gar toioyton estin he basileia toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)But when Jesus saw it, He was greatly displeased and said to them, [JESUS]"Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of God."[/JESUS]

ἰδὼν δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἠγανάκτησεν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Ἄφετε τὰ παιδία ἔρχεσθαι πρός με, μὴ κωλύετε αὐτά, τῶν γὰρ τοιούτων ἐστὶν ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): amen lego hymin, hos ⸀an me dexetai ten basileian toy theoy hos paidion, oy me eiselthῃ eis ayten.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it."[/JESUS]

ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὃς ⸀ἂν μὴ δέξηται τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ ὡς παιδίον, οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθῃ εἰς αὐτήν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai enankalisamenos ayta ⸂kateulogei titheis tas cheiras epʼ ayta⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

καὶ ἐναγκαλισάμενος αὐτὰ ⸂κατευλόγει τιθεὶς τὰς χεῖρας ἐπʼ αὐτά⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai ekporeuomenou aytoy eis hodon prosdramon ehis kai gonypetesas ayton eperota ayton· Didaskale agathe, ti poieso hina zoen aionion kleronomeso;
Edified Edition (EDE)And when He was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to Him, and asked Him, "Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?"

Καὶ ἐκπορευομένου αὐτοῦ εἰς ὁδὸν προσδραμὼν εἷς καὶ γονυπετήσας αὐτὸν ἐπηρώτα αὐτόν· Διδάσκαλε ἀγαθέ, τί ποιήσω ἵνα ζωὴν αἰώνιον κληρονομήσω;

Phonetic (Greek): ho de Ἰesoys eipen aytῷ· Ti me legeis agathon; oydeis agathos ei me ehis ho theos.
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus said to him, [JESUS]"Why call you me good? there is none good but one, that is, God."[/JESUS]

ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Τί με λέγεις ἀγαθόν; οὐδεὶς ἀγαθὸς εἰ μὴ εἷς ὁ θεός.

Phonetic (Greek): tas entolas oidas· Me ⸂phoneysῃs, Me moicheysῃs⸃, Me klepsῃs, Me pseudomartyresῃs, Me aposteresῃs, Tima ton patera sou kai ten metera.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"You know the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour your father and mother."[/JESUS]

τὰς ἐντολὰς οἶδας· Μὴ ⸂φονεύσῃς, Μὴ μοιχεύσῃς⸃, Μὴ κλέψῃς, Μὴ ψευδομαρτυρήσῃς, Μὴ ἀποστερήσῃς, Τίμα τὸν πατέρα σου καὶ τὴν μητέρα.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de ⸀ephe aytῷ· Didaskale, tayta panta ephylaxamen ek neotetos mou.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he answered and said to Him, "Master, all these have I observed from my youth."

ὁ δὲ ⸀ἔφη αὐτῷ· Διδάσκαλε, ταῦτα πάντα ἐφυλαξάμην ἐκ νεότητός μου.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de Ἰesoys emblepsas aytῷ egapesen ayton kai eipen aytῷ· Ἕn ⸀se hysterei· hypage hosa echeis poleson kai dos ⸀tois ptochois, kai hexeis thesauron en oyranῷ, kai deyro akoloythei ⸀moi.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, [JESUS]"One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me."[/JESUS]

ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ἐμβλέψας αὐτῷ ἠγάπησεν αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ἕν ⸀σε ὑστερεῖ· ὕπαγε ὅσα ἔχεις πώλησον καὶ δὸς ⸀τοῖς πτωχοῖς, καὶ ἕξεις θησαυρὸν ἐν οὐρανῷ, καὶ δεῦρο ἀκολούθει ⸀μοι.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de stygnasas epi tῷ logῳ apelthen lypoymenos, en gar echon ktemata polla.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.

ὁ δὲ στυγνάσας ἐπὶ τῷ λόγῳ ἀπῆλθεν λυπούμενος, ἦν γὰρ ἔχων κτήματα πολλά.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai periblepsamenos ho Ἰesoys legei tois mathetais aytoy· Pos dyskolos ohi ta chremata echontes eis ten basileian toy theoy eiseleysontai.
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus looked round about, and says to His disciples, [JESUS]"How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!"[/JESUS]

Καὶ περιβλεψάμενος ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· Πῶς δυσκόλως οἱ τὰ χρήματα ἔχοντες εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ εἰσελεύσονται.

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de mathetai ethamboynto epi tois logois aytoy. ho de Ἰesoys palin apokritheis legei aytois· Tekna, pos dyskolon ⸀estin eis ten basileian toy theoy eiselthein·
Edified Edition (EDE)And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again, and says to them, [JESUS]"Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!"[/JESUS]

οἱ δὲ μαθηταὶ ἐθαμβοῦντο ἐπὶ τοῖς λόγοις αὐτοῦ. ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς πάλιν ἀποκριθεὶς λέγει αὐτοῖς· Τέκνα, πῶς δύσκολόν ⸀ἐστιν εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ εἰσελθεῖν·

Phonetic (Greek): eykopoteron estin kamelon dia ⸂tes trymalias tes⸃ ῥaphidos ⸀dielthein e ploysion eis ten basileian toy theoy eiselthein.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."[/JESUS]

εὐκοπώτερόν ἐστιν κάμηλον διὰ ⸂τῆς τρυμαλιᾶς τῆς⸃ ῥαφίδος ⸀διελθεῖν ἢ πλούσιον εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ εἰσελθεῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de perissos exeplessonto legontes pros ⸀heautoys· Kai tis dynatai sothenai;
Edified Edition (EDE)And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, "Who then can be saved?"

οἱ δὲ περισσῶς ἐξεπλήσσοντο λέγοντες πρὸς ⸀ἑαυτούς· Καὶ τίς δύναται σωθῆναι;

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀emblepsas aytois ho Ἰesoys legei· Para anthropois adynaton allʼ oy para theῷ, panta gar ⸀dynata para tῷ theῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)But Jesus looked at them and said, [JESUS]"With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible."[/JESUS]

⸀ἐμβλέψας αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγει· Παρὰ ἀνθρώποις ἀδύνατον ἀλλʼ οὐ παρὰ θεῷ, πάντα γὰρ ⸀δυνατὰ παρὰ τῷ θεῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἤrxato ⸂legein ho Petros⸃ aytῷ· Ἰdoy hemeis aphekamen panta kai ⸀ekolouthekamen soi.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Peter began to say to Him, "Lo, we have left all, and have followed you."

Ἤρξατο ⸂λέγειν ὁ Πέτρος⸃ αὐτῷ· Ἰδοὺ ἡμεῖς ἀφήκαμεν πάντα καὶ ⸀ἠκολουθήκαμέν σοι.

Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus answered and said, [JESUS]"Truly I say to you, There is no man that has left house, or brothers, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for My sake, and the gospel's,"[/JESUS]

⸂ἔφη ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, οὐδείς ἐστιν ὃς ἀφῆκεν οἰκίαν ἢ ἀδελφοὺς ἢ ἀδελφὰς ἢ ⸂μητέρα ἢ πατέρα⸃ ἢ τέκνα ἢ ἀγροὺς ἕνεκεν ἐμοῦ καὶ ἕνεκεν τοῦ εὐαγγελίου,

Phonetic (Greek): ean me labῃ hekatontaplasiona nyn en tῷ kairῷ toytῳ oikias kai adelphoys kai adelphas kai ⸀meteras kai tekna kai agroys meta diogmon, kai en tῷ aioni tῷ erchomenῳ zoen aionion.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life."[/JESUS]

ἐὰν μὴ λάβῃ ἑκατονταπλασίονα νῦν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ τούτῳ οἰκίας καὶ ἀδελφοὺς καὶ ἀδελφὰς καὶ ⸀μητέρας καὶ τέκνα καὶ ἀγροὺς μετὰ διωγμῶν, καὶ ἐν τῷ αἰῶνι τῷ ἐρχομένῳ ζωὴν αἰώνιον.

Phonetic (Greek): hoti Ἰdoy anabainomen eis Ἱerosolyma, kai ho yhios toy anthropou paradothesetai tois archiereysin kai ⸀tois grammateysin, kai katakrinoysin ayton thanatῳ kai paradosousin ayton tois ethnesin
Edified Edition (EDE)saying, [JESUS]"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles;"[/JESUS]

ὅτι Ἰδοὺ ἀναβαίνομεν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα, καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδοθήσεται τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ ⸀τοῖς γραμματεῦσιν, καὶ κατακρινοῦσιν αὐτὸν θανάτῳ καὶ παραδώσουσιν αὐτὸν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν

Phonetic (Greek): kai empaixousin aytῷ kai ⸂emptysousin aytῷ kai mastigosousin ayton⸃ kai ⸀apoktenoysin, kai ⸂meta treis hemeras⸃ anastesetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"and they will mock Him, and scourge Him, and spit on Him, and kill Him. And the third day He will rise again."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἐμπαίξουσιν αὐτῷ καὶ ⸂ἐμπτύσουσιν αὐτῷ καὶ μαστιγώσουσιν αὐτὸν⸃ καὶ ⸀ἀποκτενοῦσιν, καὶ ⸂μετὰ τρεῖς ἡμέρας⸃ ἀναστήσεται.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai prosporeyontai aytῷ Ἰakobos kai Ἰoannes ⸀ohi yhioi Zebedaiou legontes ⸀aytῷ· Didaskale, thelomen hina ho ean aitesomen ⸀se poiesῃs hemin.
Edified Edition (EDE)And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come to Him, saying, "Master, we would that you should do for us whatever we shall desire."

Καὶ προσπορεύονται αὐτῷ Ἰάκωβος καὶ Ἰωάννης ⸀οἱ υἱοὶ Ζεβεδαίου λέγοντες ⸀αὐτῷ· Διδάσκαλε, θέλομεν ἵνα ὃ ἐὰν αἰτήσωμέν ⸀σε ποιήσῃς ἡμῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de eipan aytῷ· Dos hemin hina ehis ⸂sou ek dexion⸃ kai ehis ex ⸀aristeron kathisomen en tῇ doxῃ sou.
Edified Edition (EDE)They said to Him, "Grant to us that we may sit, one on your right hand, and the other on your left hand, in your glory."

οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· Δὸς ἡμῖν ἵνα εἷς ⸂σου ἐκ δεξιῶν⸃ καὶ εἷς ἐξ ⸀ἀριστερῶν καθίσωμεν ἐν τῇ δόξῃ σου.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de Ἰesoys eipen aytois· Oyk oidate ti aiteisthe· dynasthe piein to poterion ho ego pino, ⸀e to baptisma ho ego baptizomai baptisthenai;
Edified Edition (EDE)But Jesus said to them, [JESUS]"You know not what you ask: can you drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptised with the baptism that I am baptised with?"[/JESUS]

ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· Οὐκ οἴδατε τί αἰτεῖσθε· δύνασθε πιεῖν τὸ ποτήριον ὃ ἐγὼ πίνω, ⸀ἢ τὸ βάπτισμα ὃ ἐγὼ βαπτίζομαι βαπτισθῆναι;

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de eipan aytῷ· Dynametha. ho de Ἰesoys eipen aytois· ⸀To poterion ho ego pino piesthe kai to baptisma ho ego baptizomai baptisthesesthe,
Edified Edition (EDE)And they said to Him, "We can." And Jesus said to them, [JESUS]"You shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptised with shall you be baptised:"[/JESUS]

οἱ δὲ εἶπαν αὐτῷ· Δυνάμεθα. ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν αὐτοῖς· ⸀Τὸ ποτήριον ὃ ἐγὼ πίνω πίεσθε καὶ τὸ βάπτισμα ὃ ἐγὼ βαπτίζομαι βαπτισθήσεσθε,

Phonetic (Greek): to de kathisai ek dexion mou ⸀e ex eyonymon oyk estin emon doynai, allʼ ohis hetoimastai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But to sit on My right hand and on My left hand is not Mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared."[/JESUS]

τὸ δὲ καθίσαι ἐκ δεξιῶν μου ⸀ἢ ἐξ εὐωνύμων οὐκ ἔστιν ἐμὸν δοῦναι, ἀλλʼ οἷς ἡτοίμασται.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai akoysantes ohi deka erxanto aganaktein peri Ἰakobou kai Ἰoannou.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.

Καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ δέκα ἤρξαντο ἀγανακτεῖν περὶ Ἰακώβου καὶ Ἰωάννου.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸂kai proskalesamenos aytoys ho Ἰesoys⸃ legei aytois· Oidate hoti ohi dokoyntes archein ton ethnon katakyrieyousin ayton kai ohi megaloi ayton katexousiazousin ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)But Jesus called them to Him, and says to them, [JESUS]"You know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them."[/JESUS]

⸂καὶ προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτοὺς ὁ Ἰησοῦς⸃ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Οἴδατε ὅτι οἱ δοκοῦντες ἄρχειν τῶν ἐθνῶν κατακυριεύουσιν αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ μεγάλοι αὐτῶν κατεξουσιάζουσιν αὐτῶν.

Phonetic (Greek): oych ohytos de ⸀estin en hymin· allʼ hos ⸀an thelῃ ⸂megas genesthai⸃ en hymin, estai hymon diakonos,
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But so shall it not be among you: but whoever will be great among you, shall be your servant:"[/JESUS]
