Phonetic (Greek): Ἐn ekeinῃ tῇ horᾳ proselthon ohi mathetai tῷ Ἰesoy legontes· Tis ara meizon estin en tῇ basileiᾳ ton oyranon;
Edified Edition (EDE)At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who then is greatest in the kingdom of heaven?"

Ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ προσῆλθον οἱ μαθηταὶ τῷ Ἰησοῦ λέγοντες· Τίς ἄρα μείζων ἐστὶν ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν;

Edified Edition (EDE)Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them,

καὶ ⸀προσκαλεσάμενος παιδίον ἔστησεν αὐτὸ ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν

Phonetic (Greek): kai eipen· Ἀmen lego hymin, ean me straphete kai genesthe hos ta paidia, oy me eiselthete eis ten basileian ton oyranon.
Edified Edition (EDE)and said, [JESUS]"Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.[/JESUS]

καὶ εἶπεν· Ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ἐὰν μὴ στραφῆτε καὶ γένησθε ὡς τὰ παιδία, οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν.

Phonetic (Greek): hostis oyn tapeinosei heauton hos to paidion toyto, ohytos estin ho meizon en tῇ basileiᾳ ton oyranon·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Therefore whoever humbles himself as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven.[/JESUS]

ὅστις οὖν ταπεινώσει ἑαυτὸν ὡς τὸ παιδίον τοῦτο, οὗτός ἐστιν ὁ μείζων ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ τῶν οὐρανῶν·

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Whoever receives one little child like this in My name receives Me."[/JESUS]

καὶ ὃς ⸀ἐὰν δέξηται ⸂ἓν παιδίον τοιοῦτο⸃ ἐπὶ τῷ ὀνόματί μου, ἐμὲ δέχεται.

Phonetic (Greek): Ὃs dʼ an skandalisῃ hena ton mikron toyton ton pisteuonton eis eme, sympherei aytῷ hina kremasthῇ mylos onikos ⸀eis ton trachelon aytoy kai katapontisthῇ en tῷ pelagei tes thalasses.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea."[/JESUS]

Ὃς δʼ ἂν σκανδαλίσῃ ἕνα τῶν μικρῶν τούτων τῶν πιστευόντων εἰς ἐμέ, συμφέρει αὐτῷ ἵνα κρεμασθῇ μύλος ὀνικὸς ⸀εἰς τὸν τράχηλον αὐτοῦ καὶ καταποντισθῇ ἐν τῷ πελάγει τῆς θαλάσσης.

Phonetic (Greek): oyai tῷ kosmῳ apo ton skandalon· ananke ⸀gar elthein ta skandala, plen oyai tῷ ⸀anthropῳ diʼ ohy to skandalon erchetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Woe to the world because of offences! For it must be that offences come; but woe to that man by whom the offence comes!"[/JESUS]

οὐαὶ τῷ κόσμῳ ἀπὸ τῶν σκανδάλων· ἀνάγκη ⸀γὰρ ἐλθεῖν τὰ σκάνδαλα, πλὴν οὐαὶ τῷ ⸀ἀνθρώπῳ διʼ οὗ τὸ σκάνδαλον ἔρχεται.

Phonetic (Greek): Ei de he cheir sou e ho poys sou skandalizei se, ekkopson ⸀ayton kai bale apo soy· kalon soi estin eiselthein eis ten zoen ⸂kyllon e cholon⸃, e dyo cheiras e dyo podas echonta blethenai eis to pyr to aionion.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Wherefore if your hand or your foot offends you, cut them off, and cast them from you: it is better for you to enter into life lame or crippled, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire."[/JESUS]

Εἰ δὲ ἡ χείρ σου ἢ ὁ πούς σου σκανδαλίζει σε, ἔκκοψον ⸀αὐτὸν καὶ βάλε ἀπὸ σοῦ· καλόν σοί ἐστιν εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὴν ζωὴν ⸂κυλλὸν ἢ χωλόν⸃, ἢ δύο χεῖρας ἢ δύο πόδας ἔχοντα βληθῆναι εἰς τὸ πῦρ τὸ αἰώνιον.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ei ho ophthalmos sou skandalizei se, exele ayton kai bale apo soy· kalon soi estin monophthalmon eis ten zoen eiselthein, e dyo ophthalmoys echonta blethenai eis ten geennan toy pyros.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And if your eye offends you, pluck it out, and cast it from you: it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire."[/JESUS]

καὶ εἰ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου σκανδαλίζει σε, ἔξελε αὐτὸν καὶ βάλε ἀπὸ σοῦ· καλόν σοί ἐστιν μονόφθαλμον εἰς τὴν ζωὴν εἰσελθεῖν, ἢ δύο ὀφθαλμοὺς ἔχοντα βληθῆναι εἰς τὴν γέενναν τοῦ πυρός.

Phonetic (Greek): Ὁrate me kataphronesete henos ton mikron toyton, lego gar hymin hoti ohi angeloi ayton en oyranois dia pantos blepousi to prosopon toy patros mou toy en ⸀oyranois.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven.[/JESUS]

Ὁρᾶτε μὴ καταφρονήσητε ἑνὸς τῶν μικρῶν τούτων, λέγω γὰρ ὑμῖν ὅτι οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτῶν ἐν οὐρανοῖς διὰ παντὸς βλέπουσι τὸ πρόσωπον τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν ⸀οὐρανοῖς.

Phonetic (Greek): ti hymin dokei; ean genetai tini anthropῳ hekaton probata kai planethῇ hen ex ayton, oychi ⸀aphesei ta enenekonta ennea epi ta ore ⸀kai poreutheis zetei to planomenon;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them goes astray, does he not leave the ninety-nine and go to the mountains to seek the one that is straying?"[/JESUS]

τί ὑμῖν δοκεῖ; ἐὰν γένηταί τινι ἀνθρώπῳ ἑκατὸν πρόβατα καὶ πλανηθῇ ἓν ἐξ αὐτῶν, οὐχὶ ⸀ἀφήσει τὰ ἐνενήκοντα ἐννέα ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη ⸀καὶ πορευθεὶς ζητεῖ τὸ πλανώμενον;

Phonetic (Greek): kai ean genetai ehyrein ayto, amen lego hymin hoti chairei epʼ aytῷ mallon e epi tois enenekonta ennea tois me peplanemenois.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And if so be that he finds it, truly I say to you, he rejoices more of that sheep, than of the ninety and nine which went not astray."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἐὰν γένηται εὑρεῖν αὐτό, ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι χαίρει ἐπʼ αὐτῷ μᾶλλον ἢ ἐπὶ τοῖς ἐνενήκοντα ἐννέα τοῖς μὴ πεπλανημένοις.

Phonetic (Greek): ohytos oyk estin thelema ⸀emprosthen toy patros ⸀hymon toy en oyranois hina apoletai ⸀hen ton mikron toyton.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Even so it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones should perish."[/JESUS]

οὕτως οὐκ ἔστιν θέλημα ⸀ἔμπροσθεν τοῦ πατρὸς ⸀ὑμῶν τοῦ ἐν οὐρανοῖς ἵνα ἀπόληται ⸀ἓν τῶν μικρῶν τούτων.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἐan de hamartesῃ ⸂eis se⸃ ho adelphos sou, ⸀hypage elenxon ayton metaxy soy kai aytoy monou. ean sou akoysῃ, ekerdesas ton adelphon sou·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.[/JESUS]

Ἐὰν δὲ ἁμαρτήσῃ ⸂εἰς σὲ⸃ ὁ ἀδελφός σου, ⸀ὕπαγε ἔλεγξον αὐτὸν μεταξὺ σοῦ καὶ αὐτοῦ μόνου. ἐάν σου ἀκούσῃ, ἐκέρδησας τὸν ἀδελφόν σου·

Phonetic (Greek): ean de me akoysῃ, paralabe meta soy eti hena e dyo, hina epi stomatos dyo martyron e trion stathῇ pan ῥema·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But if he will not hear you, then take with you one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established."[/JESUS]

ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ἀκούσῃ, παράλαβε μετὰ σοῦ ἔτι ἕνα ἢ δύο, ἵνα ἐπὶ στόματος δύο μαρτύρων ἢ τριῶν σταθῇ πᾶν ῥῆμα·

Phonetic (Greek): ean de parakoysῃ ayton, eipon tῇ ekklesiᾳ· ean de kai tes ekklesias parakoysῃ, esto soi hosper ho ethnikos kai ho telones.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it to the church: but if he neglects to hear the church, let him be to you as a heathen man and a publican."[/JESUS]

ἐὰν δὲ παρακούσῃ αὐτῶν, εἰπὸν τῇ ἐκκλησίᾳ· ἐὰν δὲ καὶ τῆς ἐκκλησίας παρακούσῃ, ἔστω σοι ὥσπερ ὁ ἐθνικὸς καὶ ὁ τελώνης.

Phonetic (Greek): amen lego hymin, hosa ⸀ean desete epi tes ges estai dedemena ⸀en oyranῷ kai hosa ean lysete epi tes ges estai lelymena ⸁en oyranῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Truly I say to you, Whatever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven."[/JESUS]

ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν, ὅσα ⸀ἐὰν δήσητε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔσται δεδεμένα ⸀ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ὅσα ἐὰν λύσητε ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἔσται λελυμένα ⸁ἐν οὐρανῷ.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven.[/JESUS]

Πάλιν ⸀ἀμὴν λέγω ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐὰν δύο ⸂συμφωνήσωσιν ἐξ ὑμῶν⸃ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς περὶ παντὸς πράγματος οὗ ἐὰν αἰτήσωνται, γενήσεται αὐτοῖς παρὰ τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν οὐρανοῖς.

Phonetic (Greek): ohy gar eisin dyo e treis synegmenoi eis to emon onoma, ekei eimi en mesῳ ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them."[/JESUS]

οὗ γάρ εἰσιν δύο ἢ τρεῖς συνηγμένοι εἰς τὸ ἐμὸν ὄνομα, ἐκεῖ εἰμι ἐν μέσῳ αὐτῶν.

Edified Edition (EDE)Then Peter came to Him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?"

Τότε προσελθὼν ⸂αὐτῷ ὁ Πέτρος εἶπεν⸃· Κύριε, ποσάκις ἁμαρτήσει εἰς ἐμὲ ὁ ἀδελφός μου καὶ ἀφήσω αὐτῷ; ἕως ἑπτάκις;

Edified Edition (EDE)Jesus said to him, [JESUS]"I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven."[/JESUS]

λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Οὐ λέγω σοι ἕως ἑπτάκις ἀλλὰ ἕως ἑβδομηκοντάκις ἑπτά.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Therefore the kingdom of heaven is like a certain king who wanted to settle accounts with his servants."[/JESUS]

Διὰ τοῦτο ὡμοιώθη ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ἀνθρώπῳ βασιλεῖ ὃς ἠθέλησεν συνᾶραι λόγον μετὰ τῶν δούλων αὐτοῦ·

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought to him, who owed him ten thousand talents."[/JESUS]

ἀρξαμένου δὲ αὐτοῦ συναίρειν ⸀προσηνέχθη ⸂αὐτῷ εἷς⸃ ὀφειλέτης μυρίων ταλάντων.

Phonetic (Greek): me echontos de aytoy apodoynai ekeleusen ayton ho ⸀kyrios prathenai kai ten ⸀gynaika kai ta tekna kai panta hosa ⸀echei kai apodothenai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made."[/JESUS]

μὴ ἔχοντος δὲ αὐτοῦ ἀποδοῦναι ἐκέλευσεν αὐτὸν ὁ ⸀κύριος πραθῆναι καὶ τὴν ⸀γυναῖκα καὶ τὰ τέκνα καὶ πάντα ὅσα ⸀ἔχει καὶ ἀποδοθῆναι.

Phonetic (Greek): peson oyn ho doylos prosekynei aytῷ legon· ⸀Makrothymeson epʼ ⸀emoi, kai panta ⸂apodoso soi⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, 'Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay you all.'"[/JESUS]

πεσὼν οὖν ὁ δοῦλος προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων· ⸀Μακροθύμησον ἐπʼ ⸀ἐμοί, καὶ πάντα ⸂ἀποδώσω σοι⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): splanchnistheis de ho kyrios toy doylou ekeinou apelysen ayton, kai to daneion apheken aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt."[/JESUS]

σπλαγχνισθεὶς δὲ ὁ κύριος τοῦ δούλου ἐκείνου ἀπέλυσεν αὐτόν, καὶ τὸ δάνειον ἀφῆκεν αὐτῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): exelthon de ho doylos ekeinos ehyren hena ton syndoylon aytoy hos opheilen aytῷ hekaton denaria, kai kratesas ayton epnigen legon· ⸀Ἀpodos ei ti opheileis.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellow servants, who owed him a hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, 'Pay me what you owe.'"[/JESUS]

ἐξελθὼν δὲ ὁ δοῦλος ἐκεῖνος εὗρεν ἕνα τῶν συνδούλων αὐτοῦ ὃς ὤφειλεν αὐτῷ ἑκατὸν δηνάρια, καὶ κρατήσας αὐτὸν ἔπνιγεν λέγων· ⸀Ἀπόδος εἴ τι ὀφείλεις.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And his fellow servant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, 'Have patience with me, and I will pay you all.'"[/JESUS]

πεσὼν οὖν ὁ σύνδουλος ⸀αὐτοῦ παρεκάλει αὐτὸν λέγων· Μακροθύμησον ἐπʼ ⸀ἐμοί, καὶ ἀποδώσω σοι.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de oyk ethelen, alla apelthon ebalen ayton eis phylaken heos ⸀ohy apodῷ to opheilomenon.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt."[/JESUS]

ὁ δὲ οὐκ ἤθελεν, ἀλλὰ ἀπελθὼν ἔβαλεν αὐτὸν εἰς φυλακὴν ἕως ⸀οὗ ἀποδῷ τὸ ὀφειλόμενον.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"So when his fellow servants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told to their lord all that was done."[/JESUS]

ἰδόντες ⸀οὖν οἱ σύνδουλοι αὐτοῦ τὰ γενόμενα ἐλυπήθησαν σφόδρα, καὶ ἐλθόντες διεσάφησαν τῷ κυρίῳ ἑαυτῶν πάντα τὰ γενόμενα.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Then his lord, after that he had called him, said to him, 'O you wicked servant, I forgave you all that debt, because you asked me:'"[/JESUS]

τότε προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτὸν ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ λέγει αὐτῷ· Δοῦλε πονηρέ, πᾶσαν τὴν ὀφειλὴν ἐκείνην ἀφῆκά σοι, ἐπεὶ παρεκάλεσάς με·

Phonetic (Greek): oyk edei kai se eleesai ton syndoulon sou, hos kago se eleesa;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Should not you also have had compassion on your fellow servant, even as I had pity on you?"[/JESUS]

οὐκ ἔδει καὶ σὲ ἐλεῆσαι τὸν σύνδουλόν σου, ὡς κἀγὼ σὲ ἠλέησα;

Phonetic (Greek): kai orgistheis ho kyrios aytoy paredoken ayton tois basanistais heos ohy apodῷ pan to ⸀opheilomenon.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And his lord was angry, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due to him."[/JESUS]

καὶ ὀργισθεὶς ὁ κύριος αὐτοῦ παρέδωκεν αὐτὸν τοῖς βασανισταῖς ἕως οὗ ἀποδῷ πᾶν τὸ ⸀ὀφειλόμενον.

Phonetic (Greek): Ohytos kai ho pater mou ho ⸀oyranios poiesei hymin ean me aphete hekastos tῷ adelphῷ aytoy apo ton kardion ⸀hymon.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"So likewise shall My heavenly Father do also to you, if you from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses."[/JESUS]

Οὕτως καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ὁ ⸀οὐράνιος ποιήσει ὑμῖν ἐὰν μὴ ἀφῆτε ἕκαστος τῷ ἀδελφῷ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τῶν καρδιῶν ⸀ὑμῶν.
