Phonetic (Greek): Ὁmoia gar estin he basileia ton oyranon anthropῳ oikodespotῃ hostis exelthen hama proῒ misthosasthai ergatas eis ton ampelona aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"For the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who went out early in the morning to hire labourers for his vineyard."[/JESUS]

Ὁμοία γάρ ἐστιν ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ἀνθρώπῳ οἰκοδεσπότῃ ὅστις ἐξῆλθεν ἅμα πρωῒ μισθώσασθαι ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸂symphonesas de⸃ meta ton ergaton ek denariou ten hemeran apesteilen aytoys eis ton ampelona aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And when he had agreed with the labourers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard."[/JESUS]

⸂συμφωνήσας δὲ⸃ μετὰ τῶν ἐργατῶν ἐκ δηναρίου τὴν ἡμέραν ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα αὐτοῦ.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace,"[/JESUS]

καὶ ἐξελθὼν περὶ τρίτην ὥραν εἶδεν ἄλλους ἑστῶτας ἐν τῇ ἀγορᾷ ἀργούς·

Phonetic (Greek): kai ekeinois eipen· Ὑpagete kai hymeis eis ton ampelona, kai ho ean e dikaion doso hymin·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And said to them; Go you also into the vineyard, "and whatever is right I will give you. And they went their way."[/JESUS]"

καὶ ἐκείνοις εἶπεν· Ὑπάγετε καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰς τὸν ἀμπελῶνα, καὶ ὃ ἐὰν ᾖ δίκαιον δώσω ὑμῖν·

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de apelthon. ⸀palin exelthon peri hekten kai enaten horan epoiesen hosaytos.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise."[/JESUS]

οἱ δὲ ἀπῆλθον. ⸀πάλιν ἐξελθὼν περὶ ἕκτην καὶ ἐνάτην ὥραν ἐποίησεν ὡσαύτως.

Phonetic (Greek): peri de ten ⸀hendekaten exelthon ehyren allous ⸀hestotas, kai legei aytois· Ti hode hestekate holen ten hemeran argoi;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and says to them, "Why stand you here all the day idle?"[/JESUS]"

περὶ δὲ τὴν ⸀ἑνδεκάτην ἐξελθὼν εὗρεν ἄλλους ⸀ἑστῶτας, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Τί ὧδε ἑστήκατε ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἀργοί;

Phonetic (Greek): legousin aytῷ· Ὅti oydeis hemas emisthosato. legei aytois· Ὑpagete kai hymeis eis ton ⸀ampelona.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"They say to him, Because no man has hired us. He says to them, "Go you also into the vineyard; and whatever is right, that shall you receive."[/JESUS]"

λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Ὅτι οὐδεὶς ἡμᾶς ἐμισθώσατο. λέγει αὐτοῖς· Ὑπάγετε καὶ ὑμεῖς εἰς τὸν ⸀ἀμπελῶνα.

Phonetic (Greek): opsias de genomenes legei ho kyrios toy ampelonos tῷ epitropῳ aytoy· Kaleson toys ergatas kai apodos ⸀aytois ton misthon arxamenos apo ton eschaton heos ton proton.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"So when even was come, the lord of the vineyard says to his steward, "Call the labourers, and give them their hire, beginning from the last to the first."[/JESUS]"

ὀψίας δὲ γενομένης λέγει ὁ κύριος τοῦ ἀμπελῶνος τῷ ἐπιτρόπῳ αὐτοῦ· Κάλεσον τοὺς ἐργάτας καὶ ἀπόδος ⸀αὐτοῖς τὸν μισθὸν ἀρξάμενος ἀπὸ τῶν ἐσχάτων ἕως τῶν πρώτων.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And when they came that were hired about the eleventh hour, they received every man a penny."[/JESUS]

⸂καὶ ἐλθόντες⸃ οἱ περὶ τὴν ἑνδεκάτην ὥραν ἔλαβον ἀνὰ δηνάριον.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But when the first came, they supposed that they should have received more; and they likewise received every man a penny."[/JESUS]

⸂καὶ ἐλθόντες⸃ οἱ πρῶτοι ἐνόμισαν ὅτι ⸀πλεῖον λήμψονται· καὶ ἔλαβον ⸂τὸ ἀνὰ δηνάριον καὶ αὐτοί⸃.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And when they had received it, they murmured against the goodman of the house,"[/JESUS]

λαβόντες δὲ ἐγόγγυζον κατὰ τοῦ οἰκοδεσπότου

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀legontes· Ohytoi ohi eschatoi mian horan epoiesan, kai isous ⸂aytoys hemin⸃ epoiesas tois bastasasi to baros tes hemeras kai ton kaysona.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Saying, These last have wrought but one hour, and you have made them equal to us, which have borne the burden and heat of the day."[/JESUS]

⸀λέγοντες· Οὗτοι οἱ ἔσχατοι μίαν ὥραν ἐποίησαν, καὶ ἴσους ⸂αὐτοὺς ἡμῖν⸃ ἐποίησας τοῖς βαστάσασι τὸ βάρος τῆς ἡμέρας καὶ τὸν καύσωνα.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de apokritheis ⸂heni ayton eipen⸃· Ἑtaire, oyk adiko se· oychi denariou synephonesas moi;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do you no wrong: did not you agree with me for a penny?"[/JESUS]

ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς ⸂ἑνὶ αὐτῶν εἶπεν⸃· Ἑταῖρε, οὐκ ἀδικῶ σε· οὐχὶ δηναρίου συνεφώνησάς μοι;

Phonetic (Greek): aron to son kai hypage· thelo de toytῳ tῷ eschatῳ doynai hos kai soi·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Take that your is, and go your way: I will give to this last, even as to you."[/JESUS]

ἆρον τὸ σὸν καὶ ὕπαγε· θέλω δὲ τούτῳ τῷ ἐσχάτῳ δοῦναι ὡς καὶ σοί·

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀oyk exestin moi ⸂ho thelo poiesai⸃ en tois emois; ⸀e ho ophthalmos sou poneros estin hoti ego agathos eimi;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is your eye evil, because I am good?"[/JESUS]

⸀οὐκ ἔξεστίν μοι ⸂ὃ θέλω ποιῆσαι⸃ ἐν τοῖς ἐμοῖς; ⸀ἢ ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου πονηρός ἐστιν ὅτι ἐγὼ ἀγαθός εἰμι;

Phonetic (Greek): ohytos esontai ohi eschatoi protoi kai ohi protoi ⸀eschatoi.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"So the last will be first, and the first last. For many are called, but few chosen."[/JESUS]

οὕτως ἔσονται οἱ ἔσχατοι πρῶτοι καὶ οἱ πρῶτοι ⸀ἔσχατοι.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸂Kai anabainon ho⸃ Ἰesoys eis Ἱerosolyma parelaben toys dodeka ⸀mathetas katʼ idian, ⸂kai en tῇ hodῷ⸃ eipen aytois·
Edified Edition (EDE)Now Jesus, going up to Jerusalem, took the twelve disciples aside on the road and said to them,

⸂Καὶ ἀναβαίνων ὁ⸃ Ἰησοῦς εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα παρέλαβεν τοὺς δώδεκα ⸀μαθητὰς κατʼ ἰδίαν, ⸂καὶ ἐν τῇ ὁδῷ⸃ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς·

Phonetic (Greek): Ἰdoy anabainomen eis Ἱerosolyma, kai ho yhios toy anthropou paradothesetai tois archiereysin kai grammateysin, kai katakrinoysin ayton thanatῳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death,"[/JESUS]

Ἰδοὺ ἀναβαίνομεν εἰς Ἱεροσόλυμα, καὶ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου παραδοθήσεται τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν καὶ γραμματεῦσιν, καὶ κατακρινοῦσιν αὐτὸν θανάτῳ,

Phonetic (Greek): kai paradosousin ayton tois ethnesin eis to empaixai kai mastigosai kai staurosai, kai tῇ tritῃ hemerᾳ ⸀egerthesetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"and deliver Him to the Gentiles to mock and to scourge and to crucify. And the third day He will rise again."[/JESUS]

καὶ παραδώσουσιν αὐτὸν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν εἰς τὸ ἐμπαῖξαι καὶ μαστιγῶσαι καὶ σταυρῶσαι, καὶ τῇ τρίτῃ ἡμέρᾳ ⸀ἐγερθήσεται.

Phonetic (Greek): Tote proselthen aytῷ he meter ton yhion Zebedaiou meta ton yhion aytes proskynoysa kai aitoysa ti ⸀parʼ aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then came to him the mother of Zebedee's children with her sons, worshipping him, and desiring a certain thing of him.

Τότε προσῆλθεν αὐτῷ ἡ μήτηρ τῶν υἱῶν Ζεβεδαίου μετὰ τῶν υἱῶν αὐτῆς προσκυνοῦσα καὶ αἰτοῦσά τι ⸀παρʼ αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de eipen aytῇ· Ti theleis; legei aytῷ· Eipe hina kathisosin ohytoi ohi dyo yhioi mou ehis ek dexion ⸀sou kai ehis ex eyonymon sou en tῇ basileiᾳ sou.
Edified Edition (EDE)And He said to her, [JESUS]"What do you desire?"[/JESUS] She said to Him, "Grant that these my two sons may sit, one at Your right hand and the other at Your left, in Your kingdom."

ὁ δὲ εἶπεν αὐτῇ· Τί θέλεις; λέγει αὐτῷ· Εἰπὲ ἵνα καθίσωσιν οὗτοι οἱ δύο υἱοί μου εἷς ἐκ δεξιῶν ⸀σου καὶ εἷς ἐξ εὐωνύμων σου ἐν τῇ βασιλείᾳ σου.

Phonetic (Greek): apokritheis de ho Ἰesoys eipen· Oyk oidate ti aiteisthe· dynasthe piein to poterion ho ego mello ⸀pinein; legousin aytῷ· Dynametha.
Edified Edition (EDE)But Jesus answered and said, [JESUS]"You do not know what you ask. Are you able to drink the cup that I am about to drink, and be baptised with the baptism that I am baptised with?"[/JESUS] They said to Him, "We are able."

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν· Οὐκ οἴδατε τί αἰτεῖσθε· δύνασθε πιεῖν τὸ ποτήριον ὃ ἐγὼ μέλλω ⸀πίνειν; λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Δυνάμεθα.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀legei aytois· To men poterion mou ⸀piesthe, to de kathisai ek dexion mou kai ex ⸀eyonymon oyk estin ⸀emon doynai, allʼ ohis hetoimastai hypo toy patros mou.
Edified Edition (EDE)So He said to them, [JESUS]"You will indeed drink My cup, and be baptised with the baptism that I am baptised with; but to sit on My right hand and on My left is not Mine to give, but it is for those for whom it has been prepared by My Father."[/JESUS]

⸀λέγει αὐτοῖς· Τὸ μὲν ποτήριόν μου ⸀πίεσθε, τὸ δὲ καθίσαι ἐκ δεξιῶν μου καὶ ἐξ ⸀εὐωνύμων οὐκ ἔστιν ⸀ἐμὸν δοῦναι, ἀλλʼ οἷς ἡτοίμασται ὑπὸ τοῦ πατρός μου.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai akoysantes ohi deka eganaktesan peri ton dyo adelphon.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when the ten heard it, they were moved with indignation against the two brothers.

Καὶ ἀκούσαντες οἱ δέκα ἠγανάκτησαν περὶ τῶν δύο ἀδελφῶν.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de Ἰesoys proskalesamenos aytoys eipen· Oidate hoti ohi archontes ton ethnon katakyrieyousin ayton kai ohi megaloi katexousiazousin ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)But Jesus called them to Himself and said, [JESUS]"You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them.[/JESUS]

ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς προσκαλεσάμενος αὐτοὺς εἶπεν· Οἴδατε ὅτι οἱ ἄρχοντες τῶν ἐθνῶν κατακυριεύουσιν αὐτῶν καὶ οἱ μεγάλοι κατεξουσιάζουσιν αὐτῶν.

Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant.[/JESUS]

οὐχ οὕτως ⸀ἔσται ἐν ὑμῖν· ἀλλʼ ὃς ⸀ἂν θέλῃ ἐν ὑμῖν μέγας γενέσθαι ἔσται ὑμῶν διάκονος,

Phonetic (Greek): kai hos ⸀an thelῃ en hymin einai protos ⸀estai hymon doylos·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave:[/JESUS]

καὶ ὃς ⸀ἂν θέλῃ ἐν ὑμῖν εἶναι πρῶτος ⸀ἔσται ὑμῶν δοῦλος·

Phonetic (Greek): hosper ho yhios toy anthropou oyk elthen diakonethenai alla diakonesai kai doynai ten psychen aytoy lytron anti pollon.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many."[/JESUS]

ὥσπερ ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου οὐκ ἦλθεν διακονηθῆναι ἀλλὰ διακονῆσαι καὶ δοῦναι τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτοῦ λύτρον ἀντὶ πολλῶν.

Edified Edition (EDE)And as they departed from Jericho, a great multitude followed him.

Καὶ ἐκπορευομένων αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Ἰεριχὼ ἠκολούθησεν αὐτῷ ὄχλος πολύς.

Phonetic (Greek): kai idoy dyo typhloi kathemenoi para ten hodon, akoysantes hoti Ἰesoys paragei, ekraxan legontes· ⸂Kyrie, eleeson hemas⸃, ⸀yhios Dauid.
Edified Edition (EDE)And, behold, two blind men sitting by the way side, when they heard that Jesus passed by, cried out, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David."

καὶ ἰδοὺ δύο τυφλοὶ καθήμενοι παρὰ τὴν ὁδόν, ἀκούσαντες ὅτι Ἰησοῦς παράγει, ἔκραξαν λέγοντες· ⸂Κύριε, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς⸃, ⸀υἱὸς Δαυίδ.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de ochlos epetimesen aytois hina siopesosin· ohi de meizon ⸀ekraxan legontes· ⸂Kyrie, eleeson hemas⸃, ⸀yhios Dauid.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the multitude rebuked them, because they should hold their peace: but they cried the more, saying, "Have mercy on us, O Lord, you son of David."

ὁ δὲ ὄχλος ἐπετίμησεν αὐτοῖς ἵνα σιωπήσωσιν· οἱ δὲ μεῖζον ⸀ἔκραξαν λέγοντες· ⸂Κύριε, ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς⸃, ⸀υἱὸς Δαυίδ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai stas ho Ἰesoys ephonesen aytoys kai eipen· Ti thelete poieso hymin;
Edified Edition (EDE)So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, [JESUS]"What do you want Me to do for you?"[/JESUS]

καὶ στὰς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐφώνησεν αὐτοὺς καὶ εἶπεν· Τί θέλετε ποιήσω ὑμῖν;

Phonetic (Greek): legousin aytῷ· Kyrie, hina ⸂anoigosin ohi ophthalmoi hemon⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)They say to him, Lord, that our eyes may be opened.

λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Κύριε, ἵνα ⸂ἀνοιγῶσιν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἡμῶν⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): splanchnistheis de ho Ἰesoys hepsato ton ⸀ommaton ayton, kai eytheos ⸀aneblepsan kai ekoloythesan aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.

σπλαγχνισθεὶς δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἥψατο τῶν ⸀ὀμμάτων αὐτῶν, καὶ εὐθέως ⸀ἀνέβλεψαν καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ.
