Chapter 28
1
Phonetic (Greek): Ὀpse de sabbaton, tῇ epiphoskoysῃ eis mian sabbaton, elthen ⸀Mariam he Magdalene kai he alle Maria theoresai ton taphon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

Ὀψὲ δὲ σαββάτων, τῇ ἐπιφωσκούσῃ εἰς μίαν σαββάτων, ἦλθεν ⸀Μαριὰμ ἡ Μαγδαληνὴ καὶ ἡ ἄλλη Μαρία θεωρῆσαι τὸν τάφον.

Phonetic (Greek): kai idoy seismos egeneto megas· angelos gar kyriou katabas ex oyranoy ⸀kai proselthon apekylise ton ⸀lithon kai ekatheto epano aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

καὶ ἰδοὺ σεισμὸς ἐγένετο μέγας· ἄγγελος γὰρ κυρίου καταβὰς ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ⸀καὶ προσελθὼν ἀπεκύλισε τὸν ⸀λίθον καὶ ἐκάθητο ἐπάνω αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): en de he eidea aytoy ⸀hos astrape kai to endyma aytoy leukon hos chion.
Edified Edition (EDE)His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow:

ἦν δὲ ἡ εἰδέα αὐτοῦ ⸀ὡς ἀστραπὴ καὶ τὸ ἔνδυμα αὐτοῦ λευκὸν ὡς χιών.

Phonetic (Greek): apo de toy phobou aytoy eseisthesan ohi teroyntes kai egenethesan ⸀hos nekroi.
Edified Edition (EDE)And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

ἀπὸ δὲ τοῦ φόβου αὐτοῦ ἐσείσθησαν οἱ τηροῦντες καὶ ἐγενήθησαν ⸀ὡς νεκροί.

Phonetic (Greek): apokritheis de ho angelos eipen tais gynaixin· Me phobeisthe hymeis, oida gar hoti Ἰesoyn ton estauromenon zeteite·
Edified Edition (EDE)But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified."

ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ ὁ ἄγγελος εἶπεν ταῖς γυναιξίν· Μὴ φοβεῖσθε ὑμεῖς, οἶδα γὰρ ὅτι Ἰησοῦν τὸν ἐσταυρωμένον ζητεῖτε·

Phonetic (Greek): oyk estin hode, egerthe gar kathos eipen· deyte idete ton topon hopou ⸀ekeito·
Edified Edition (EDE)"He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay."

οὐκ ἔστιν ὧδε, ἠγέρθη γὰρ καθὼς εἶπεν· δεῦτε ἴδετε τὸν τόπον ὅπου ⸀ἔκειτο·

Phonetic (Greek): kai tachy poreutheisai eipate tois mathetais aytoy hoti Ἠgerthe apo ton nekron, kai idoy proagei hymas eis ten Galilaian, ekei ayton opsesthe· idoy eipon hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goes before you into Galilee; there shall you see him: lo, I have told you.

καὶ ταχὺ πορευθεῖσαι εἴπατε τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ ὅτι Ἠγέρθη ἀπὸ τῶν νεκρῶν, καὶ ἰδοὺ προάγει ὑμᾶς εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν, ἐκεῖ αὐτὸν ὄψεσθε· ἰδοὺ εἶπον ὑμῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ⸀apelthoysai tachy apo toy mnemeiou meta phobou kai charas megales edramon apangeilai tois mathetais aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

καὶ ⸀ἀπελθοῦσαι ταχὺ ἀπὸ τοῦ μνημείου μετὰ φόβου καὶ χαρᾶς μεγάλης ἔδραμον ἀπαγγεῖλαι τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀kai ⸀idoy Ἰesoys ⸀hypentesen aytais legon· Chairete· ahi de proselthoysai ekratesan aytoy toys podas kai prosekynesan aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)And as they went to tell His disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, [JESUS]"Rejoice!"[/JESUS] So they came and held Him by the feet and worshipped Him.

⸀καὶ ⸀ἰδοὺ Ἰησοῦς ⸀ὑπήντησεν αὐταῖς λέγων· Χαίρετε· αἱ δὲ προσελθοῦσαι ἐκράτησαν αὐτοῦ τοὺς πόδας καὶ προσεκύνησαν αὐτῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): tote legei aytais ho Ἰesoys· Me phobeisthe· hypagete apangeilate tois adelphois mou hina apelthosin eis ten Galilaian, kakei me opsontai.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Jesus said to them, [JESUS]"Do not be afraid. Go and tell My brethren to go to Galilee, and there they will see Me."[/JESUS]

τότε λέγει αὐταῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Μὴ φοβεῖσθε· ὑπάγετε ἀπαγγείλατε τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς μου ἵνα ἀπέλθωσιν εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν, κἀκεῖ με ὄψονται.

Phonetic (Greek): Poreuomenon de ayton idoy tines tes koustodias elthontes eis ten polin apengeilan tois archiereysin hapanta ta genomena.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and showed to the chief priests all the things that were done.

Πορευομένων δὲ αὐτῶν ἰδού τινες τῆς κουστωδίας ἐλθόντες εἰς τὴν πόλιν ἀπήγγειλαν τοῖς ἀρχιερεῦσιν ἅπαντα τὰ γενόμενα.

Phonetic (Greek): kai synachthentes meta ton presbyteron symboylion te labontes argyria hikana edokan tois stratiotais
Edified Edition (EDE)And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money to the soldiers,

καὶ συναχθέντες μετὰ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων συμβούλιόν τε λαβόντες ἀργύρια ἱκανὰ ἔδωκαν τοῖς στρατιώταις

Phonetic (Greek): legontes· Eipate hoti Ohi mathetai aytoy nyktos elthontes eklepsan ayton hemon koimomenon·
Edified Edition (EDE)Saying, "Say you, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept."

λέγοντες· Εἴπατε ὅτι Οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ νυκτὸς ἐλθόντες ἔκλεψαν αὐτὸν ἡμῶν κοιμωμένων·

Phonetic (Greek): kai ean akousthῇ toyto ⸀epi toy hegemonos, hemeis peisomen ⸀ayton kai hymas amerimnous poiesomen.
Edified Edition (EDE)And if this come to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.

καὶ ἐὰν ἀκουσθῇ τοῦτο ⸀ἐπὶ τοῦ ἡγεμόνος, ἡμεῖς πείσομεν ⸀αὐτὸν καὶ ὑμᾶς ἀμερίμνους ποιήσομεν.

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de labontes ⸀ta argyria epoiesan hos edidachthesan. Kai diephemisthe ho logos ohytos para Ἰoudaiois mechri tes semeron ⸀hemeras.
Edified Edition (EDE)So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day.

οἱ δὲ λαβόντες ⸀τὰ ἀργύρια ἐποίησαν ὡς ἐδιδάχθησαν. Καὶ διεφημίσθη ὁ λόγος οὗτος παρὰ Ἰουδαίοις μέχρι τῆς σήμερον ⸀ἡμέρας.

Phonetic (Greek): Ohi de hendeka mathetai eporeythesan eis ten Galilaian eis to oros ohy etaxato aytois ho Ἰesoys,
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them.

Οἱ δὲ ἕνδεκα μαθηταὶ ἐπορεύθησαν εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν εἰς τὸ ὄρος οὗ ἐτάξατο αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς,

Phonetic (Greek): kai idontes ayton ⸀prosekynesan, ohi de edistasan.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted.

καὶ ἰδόντες αὐτὸν ⸀προσεκύνησαν, οἱ δὲ ἐδίστασαν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai proselthon ho Ἰesoys elalesen aytois legon· Ἐdothe moi pasa exousia en oyranῷ kai epi ⸀tes ges·
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, [JESUS]"All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth."[/JESUS]

καὶ προσελθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐλάλησεν αὐτοῖς λέγων· Ἐδόθη μοι πᾶσα ἐξουσία ἐν οὐρανῷ καὶ ἐπὶ ⸀τῆς γῆς·

Phonetic (Greek): poreuthentes ⸀oyn matheteysate panta ta ethne, ⸀baptizontes aytoys eis to onoma toy patros kai toy yhioy kai toy hagiou pneymatos,
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,"[/JESUS]

πορευθέντες ⸀οὖν μαθητεύσατε πάντα τὰ ἔθνη, ⸀βαπτίζοντες αὐτοὺς εἰς τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ πατρὸς καὶ τοῦ υἱοῦ καὶ τοῦ ἁγίου πνεύματος,

Phonetic (Greek): didaskontes aytoys terein panta hosa eneteilamen hymin· kai idoy ego methʼ hymon eimi pasas tas hemeras heos tes synteleias toy ⸀aionos.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.[/JESUS]

διδάσκοντες αὐτοὺς τηρεῖν πάντα ὅσα ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν· καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ μεθʼ ὑμῶν εἰμι πάσας τὰς ἡμέρας ἕως τῆς συντελείας τοῦ ⸀αἰῶνος.
