Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Judge not, that you be not judged.[/JESUS]

Μὴ κρίνετε, ἵνα μὴ κριθῆτε·

Phonetic (Greek): en ho gar krimati krinete krithesesthe, kai en ho metrῳ metreite metrethesetai hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]For with what judgement you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.[/JESUS]

ἐν ᾧ γὰρ κρίματι κρίνετε κριθήσεσθε, καὶ ἐν ᾧ μέτρῳ μετρεῖτε μετρηθήσεται ὑμῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): ti de blepeis to karphos to en tῷ ophthalmῷ toy adelphoy sou, ten de en tῷ sῷ ophthalmῷ dokon oy katanoeis;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?[/JESUS]

τί δὲ βλέπεις τὸ κάρφος τὸ ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου, τὴν δὲ ἐν τῷ σῷ ὀφθαλμῷ δοκὸν οὐ κατανοεῖς;

Phonetic (Greek): e pos ereis tῷ adelphῷ sou· Ἄphes ekbalo to karphos ⸀ek toy ophthalmoy sou, kai idoy he dokos en tῷ ophthalmῷ soy;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank is in your own eye?[/JESUS]

ἢ πῶς ἐρεῖς τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου· Ἄφες ἐκβάλω τὸ κάρφος ⸀ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ σου, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἡ δοκὸς ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ σοῦ;

Phonetic (Greek): hypokrita, ekbale proton ⸂ek toy ophthalmoy soy ten dokon⸃, kai tote diablepseis ekbalein to karphos ek toy ophthalmoy toy adelphoy sou.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."[/JESUS]

ὑποκριτά, ἔκβαλε πρῶτον ⸂ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ σοῦ τὴν δοκόν⸃, καὶ τότε διαβλέψεις ἐκβαλεῖν τὸ κάρφος ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου.

Phonetic (Greek): Me dote to hagion tois kysin, mede balete toys margaritas hymon emprosthen ton choiron, mepote ⸀katapatesousin aytoys en tois posin ayton kai straphentes ῥexosin hymas.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces."[/JESUS]

Μὴ δῶτε τὸ ἅγιον τοῖς κυσίν, μηδὲ βάλητε τοὺς μαργαρίτας ὑμῶν ἔμπροσθεν τῶν χοίρων, μήποτε ⸀καταπατήσουσιν αὐτοὺς ἐν τοῖς ποσὶν αὐτῶν καὶ στραφέντες ῥήξωσιν ὑμᾶς.

Phonetic (Greek): Aiteite, kai dothesetai hymin· zeteite, kai ehyresete· kroyete, kai anoigesetai hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.[/JESUS]

Αἰτεῖτε, καὶ δοθήσεται ὑμῖν· ζητεῖτε, καὶ εὑρήσετε· κρούετε, καὶ ἀνοιγήσεται ὑμῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): pas gar ho aiton lambanei kai ho zeton ehyriskei kai tῷ kroyonti ⸀anoigesetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.[/JESUS]

πᾶς γὰρ ὁ αἰτῶν λαμβάνει καὶ ὁ ζητῶν εὑρίσκει καὶ τῷ κρούοντι ⸀ἀνοιγήσεται.

Phonetic (Greek): e tis ⸀estin ex hymon anthropos, hon ⸀aitesei ho yhios aytoy arton— me lithon epidosei aytῷ;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone?[/JESUS]

ἢ τίς ⸀ἐστιν ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνθρωπος, ὃν ⸀αἰτήσει ὁ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἄρτον— μὴ λίθον ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ;

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀e kai ⸂ichthyn aitesei⸃— me ophin epidosei aytῷ;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?[/JESUS]

⸀ἢ καὶ ⸂ἰχθὺν αἰτήσει⸃— μὴ ὄφιν ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ;

Phonetic (Greek): ei oyn hymeis poneroi ontes oidate domata agatha didonai tois teknois hymon, posῳ mallon ho pater hymon ho en tois oyranois dosei agatha tois aitoysin ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!"[/JESUS]

εἰ οὖν ὑμεῖς πονηροὶ ὄντες οἴδατε δόματα ἀγαθὰ διδόναι τοῖς τέκνοις ὑμῶν, πόσῳ μᾶλλον ὁ πατὴρ ὑμῶν ὁ ἐν τοῖς οὐρανοῖς δώσει ἀγαθὰ τοῖς αἰτοῦσιν αὐτόν.

Phonetic (Greek): Panta oyn hosa ⸀ean thelete hina poiosin hymin ohi anthropoi, ohytos kai hymeis poieite aytois· ohytos gar estin ho nomos kai ohi prophetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets."[/JESUS]

Πάντα οὖν ὅσα ⸀ἐὰν θέλητε ἵνα ποιῶσιν ὑμῖν οἱ ἄνθρωποι, οὕτως καὶ ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε αὐτοῖς· οὗτος γάρ ἐστιν ὁ νόμος καὶ οἱ προφῆται.

Phonetic (Greek): Eiselthate dia tes stenes pyles· hoti plateia ⸂he pyle⸃ kai eyrychoros he hodos he apagousa eis ten apoleian, kai polloi eisin ohi eiserchomenoi diʼ aytes·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.[/JESUS]

Εἰσέλθατε διὰ τῆς στενῆς πύλης· ὅτι πλατεῖα ⸂ἡ πύλη⸃ καὶ εὐρύχωρος ἡ ὁδὸς ἡ ἀπάγουσα εἰς τὴν ἀπώλειαν, καὶ πολλοί εἰσιν οἱ εἰσερχόμενοι διʼ αὐτῆς·

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀hoti stene he pyle kai tethlimmene he hodos he apagousa eis ten zoen, kai oligoi eisin ohi ehyriskontes ayten.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it."[/JESUS]

⸀ὅτι στενὴ ἡ πύλη καὶ τεθλιμμένη ἡ ὁδὸς ἡ ἀπάγουσα εἰς τὴν ζωήν, καὶ ὀλίγοι εἰσὶν οἱ εὑρίσκοντες αὐτήν.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀Prosechete apo ton pseudopropheton, ohitines erchontai pros hymas en endymasi probaton esothen de eisin lykoi harpages.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.[/JESUS]

⸀Προσέχετε ἀπὸ τῶν ψευδοπροφητῶν, οἵτινες ἔρχονται πρὸς ὑμᾶς ἐν ἐνδύμασι προβάτων ἔσωθεν δέ εἰσιν λύκοι ἅρπαγες.

Phonetic (Greek): apo ton karpon ayton epignosesthe aytoys. meti syllegousin apo akanthon ⸀staphylas e apo tribolon syka;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?[/JESUS]

ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν αὐτῶν ἐπιγνώσεσθε αὐτούς. μήτι συλλέγουσιν ἀπὸ ἀκανθῶν ⸀σταφυλὰς ἢ ἀπὸ τριβόλων σῦκα;

Phonetic (Greek): ohytos pan dendron agathon karpoys kaloys poiei, to de sapron dendron karpoys poneroys poiei·
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Even so every good tree brings forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree brings forth evil fruit."[/JESUS]

οὕτως πᾶν δένδρον ἀγαθὸν καρποὺς καλοὺς ποιεῖ, τὸ δὲ σαπρὸν δένδρον καρποὺς πονηροὺς ποιεῖ·

Phonetic (Greek): oy dynatai dendron agathon karpoys poneroys ⸀poiein, oyde dendron sapron karpoys kaloys poiein.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit."[/JESUS]

οὐ δύναται δένδρον ἀγαθὸν καρποὺς πονηροὺς ⸀ποιεῖν, οὐδὲ δένδρον σαπρὸν καρποὺς καλοὺς ποιεῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): pan dendron me poioyn karpon kalon ekkoptetai kai eis pyr balletai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Every tree that brings not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire."[/JESUS]

πᾶν δένδρον μὴ ποιοῦν καρπὸν καλὸν ἐκκόπτεται καὶ εἰς πῦρ βάλλεται.

Phonetic (Greek): ara ge apo ton karpon ayton epignosesthe aytoys.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Therefore by their fruits you will know them."[/JESUS]

ἄρα γε ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν αὐτῶν ἐπιγνώσεσθε αὐτούς.

Phonetic (Greek): Oy pas ho legon moi· Kyrie kyrie eiseleysetai eis ten basileian ton oyranon, allʼ ho poion to thelema toy patros mou toy en ⸀tois oyranois.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven."[/JESUS]

Οὐ πᾶς ὁ λέγων μοι· Κύριε κύριε εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν τῶν οὐρανῶν, ἀλλʼ ὁ ποιῶν τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός μου τοῦ ἐν ⸀τοῖς οὐρανοῖς.

Phonetic (Greek): polloi eroysin moi en ekeinῃ tῇ hemerᾳ· Kyrie kyrie, oy tῷ sῷ onomati epropheteysamen, kai tῷ sῷ onomati daimonia exebalomen, kai tῷ sῷ onomati dynameis pollas epoiesamen;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out demons? and in your name done many wonderful works?"[/JESUS]

πολλοὶ ἐροῦσίν μοι ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ· Κύριε κύριε, οὐ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι ἐπροφητεύσαμεν, καὶ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι δαιμόνια ἐξεβάλομεν, καὶ τῷ σῷ ὀνόματι δυνάμεις πολλὰς ἐποιήσαμεν;

Phonetic (Greek): kai tote homologeso aytois hoti Oydepote egnon hymas· apochoreite apʼ emoy ohi ergazomenoi ten anomian.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity."[/JESUS]

καὶ τότε ὁμολογήσω αὐτοῖς ὅτι Οὐδέποτε ἔγνων ὑμᾶς· ἀποχωρεῖτε ἀπʼ ἐμοῦ οἱ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν ἀνομίαν.

Phonetic (Greek): Pas oyn hostis akoyei mou toys logous toytous kai poiei aytoys, ⸀homoiothesetai andri phronimῳ, hostis okodomesen ⸂aytoy ten oikian⸃ epi ten petran.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:[/JESUS]

Πᾶς οὖν ὅστις ἀκούει μου τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ ποιεῖ αὐτούς, ⸀ὁμοιωθήσεται ἀνδρὶ φρονίμῳ, ὅστις ᾠκοδόμησεν ⸂αὐτοῦ τὴν οἰκίαν⸃ ἐπὶ τὴν πέτραν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai katebe he broche kai elthon ohi potamoi kai epneusan ohi anemoi kai prosepesan tῇ oikiᾳ ekeinῃ, kai oyk epesen, tethemelioto gar epi ten petran.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock."[/JESUS]

καὶ κατέβη ἡ βροχὴ καὶ ἦλθον οἱ ποταμοὶ καὶ ἔπνευσαν οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ προσέπεσαν τῇ οἰκίᾳ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ οὐκ ἔπεσεν, τεθεμελίωτο γὰρ ἐπὶ τὴν πέτραν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai pas ho akoyon mou toys logous toytous kai me poion aytoys homoiothesetai andri morῷ, hostis okodomesen ⸂aytoy ten oikian⸃ epi ten ammon.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]"But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand:[/JESUS]

καὶ πᾶς ὁ ἀκούων μου τοὺς λόγους τούτους καὶ μὴ ποιῶν αὐτοὺς ὁμοιωθήσεται ἀνδρὶ μωρῷ, ὅστις ᾠκοδόμησεν ⸂αὐτοῦ τὴν οἰκίαν⸃ ἐπὶ τὴν ἄμμον.

καὶ κατέβη ἡ βροχὴ καὶ ἦλθον οἱ ποταμοὶ καὶ ἔπνευσαν οἱ ἄνεμοι καὶ προσέκοψαν τῇ οἰκίᾳ ἐκείνῃ, καὶ ἔπεσεν, καὶ ἦν ἡ πτῶσις αὐτῆς μεγάλη.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai egeneto hote ⸀etelesen ho Ἰesoys toys logous toytous, exeplessonto ohi ochloi epi tῇ didachῇ aytoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)And so it was, when Jesus had ended these sayings, that the people were astonished at His teaching,

Καὶ ἐγένετο ὅτε ⸀ἐτέλεσεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τοὺς λόγους τούτους, ἐξεπλήσσοντο οἱ ὄχλοι ἐπὶ τῇ διδαχῇ αὐτοῦ·

Phonetic (Greek): en gar didaskon aytoys hos exousian echon kai oych hos ohi grammateis ⸀ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)for He taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.

ἦν γὰρ διδάσκων αὐτοὺς ὡς ἐξουσίαν ἔχων καὶ οὐχ ὡς οἱ γραμματεῖς ⸀αὐτῶν.
