Edified Edition (EDE)So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city.

Καὶ ⸀ἐμβὰς ⸀εἰς πλοῖον διεπέρασεν καὶ ἦλθεν εἰς τὴν ἰδίαν πόλιν.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai idoy prosepheron aytῷ paralytikon epi klines beblemenon. kai idon ho Ἰesoys ten pistin ayton eipen tῷ paralytikῷ· Tharsei, teknon· ⸀aphientai ⸂sou ahi hamartiai⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then behold, they brought to Him a paralytic lying on a bed. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, [JESUS]"Son, be of good cheer; your sins are forgiven you."[/JESUS]

Καὶ ἰδοὺ προσέφερον αὐτῷ παραλυτικὸν ἐπὶ κλίνης βεβλημένον. καὶ ἰδὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πίστιν αὐτῶν εἶπεν τῷ παραλυτικῷ· Θάρσει, τέκνον· ⸀ἀφίενταί ⸂σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): kai idoy tines ton grammateon eipan en heautois· Ohytos blasphemei.
Edified Edition (EDE)And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, "This man blasphems."

καὶ ἰδού τινες τῶν γραμματέων εἶπαν ἐν ἑαυτοῖς· Οὗτος βλασφημεῖ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ⸀eidos ho Ἰesoys tas enthymeseis ayton eipen· ⸀Ἱnati enthymeisthe ponera en tais kardiais hymon;
Edified Edition (EDE)But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, [JESUS]"Why do you think evil in your hearts?[/JESUS]

καὶ ⸀εἰδὼς ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς ἐνθυμήσεις αὐτῶν εἶπεν· ⸀Ἱνατί ἐνθυμεῖσθε πονηρὰ ἐν ταῖς καρδίαις ὑμῶν;

Phonetic (Greek): ti gar estin eykopoteron, eipein· ⸀Ἀphientai sou ahi hamartiai, e eipein· ⸀Ἔgeire kai peripatei;
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]For which is easier, to say, 'Your sins are forgiven you,' or to say, 'Arise and walk'?[/JESUS]

τί γάρ ἐστιν εὐκοπώτερον, εἰπεῖν· ⸀Ἀφίενταί σου αἱ ἁμαρτίαι, ἢ εἰπεῖν· ⸀Ἔγειρε καὶ περιπάτει;

Phonetic (Greek): hina de eidete hoti exousian echei ho yhios toy anthropou epi tes ges aphienai hamartias— tote legei tῷ paralytikῷ· ⸀Ἐgertheis aron sou ten klinen kai hypage eis ton oikon sou.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins"[/JESUS] ( then He said to the paralytic, [JESUS]"Arise, take up your bed, and go to your house."[/JESUS]

ἵνα δὲ εἰδῆτε ὅτι ἐξουσίαν ἔχει ὁ υἱὸς τοῦ ἀνθρώπου ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ἀφιέναι ἁμαρτίας— τότε λέγει τῷ παραλυτικῷ· ⸀Ἐγερθεὶς ἆρόν σου τὴν κλίνην καὶ ὕπαγε εἰς τὸν οἶκόν σου.

Phonetic (Greek): kai egertheis apelthen eis ton oikon aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he arose, and departed to his house.

καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): idontes de ohi ochloi ⸀ephobethesan kai edoxasan ton theon ton donta exousian toiayten tois anthropois.
Edified Edition (EDE)But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power to men.

ἰδόντες δὲ οἱ ὄχλοι ⸀ἐφοβήθησαν καὶ ἐδόξασαν τὸν θεὸν τὸν δόντα ἐξουσίαν τοιαύτην τοῖς ἀνθρώποις.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai paragon ho Ἰesoys ekeithen eiden anthropon kathemenon epi to telonion, Maththaion legomenon, kai legei aytῷ· Ἀkoloythei moi· kai anastas ekoloythesen aytῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)As Jesus passed on from there, He saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax office. And He said to him, [JESUS]"Follow Me."[/JESUS] And he arose and followed Him.

Καὶ παράγων ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐκεῖθεν εἶδεν ἄνθρωπον καθήμενον ἐπὶ τὸ τελώνιον, Μαθθαῖον λεγόμενον, καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· Ἀκολούθει μοι· καὶ ἀναστὰς ἠκολούθησεν αὐτῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai egeneto aytoy anakeimenou en tῇ oikiᾳ, ⸀kai idoy polloi telonai kai hamartoloi elthontes synanekeinto tῷ Ἰesoy kai tois mathetais aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now it happened, as He sat at the table in the house, that behold, many tax collectors and sinners came and sat down with Him and His disciples.

Καὶ ἐγένετο αὐτοῦ ἀνακειμένου ἐν τῇ οἰκίᾳ, ⸀καὶ ἰδοὺ πολλοὶ τελῶναι καὶ ἁμαρτωλοὶ ἐλθόντες συνανέκειντο τῷ Ἰησοῦ καὶ τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai idontes ohi Pharisaioi ⸀elegon tois mathetais aytoy· Dia ti meta ton telonon kai hamartolon esthiei ho didaskalos hymon;
Edified Edition (EDE)And when the Pharisees saw it, they said to his disciples, "Why eats your Master with publicans and sinners?"

καὶ ἰδόντες οἱ Φαρισαῖοι ⸀ἔλεγον τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· Διὰ τί μετὰ τῶν τελωνῶν καὶ ἁμαρτωλῶν ἐσθίει ὁ διδάσκαλος ὑμῶν;

Phonetic (Greek): ho ⸀de akoysas ⸀eipen· Oy chreian echousin ohi ischyontes iatroy alla ohi kakos echontes.
Edified Edition (EDE)When Jesus heard that, He said to them, [JESUS]"Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.[/JESUS]

ὁ ⸀δὲ ἀκούσας ⸀εἶπεν· Οὐ χρείαν ἔχουσιν οἱ ἰσχύοντες ἰατροῦ ἀλλὰ οἱ κακῶς ἔχοντες.

Phonetic (Greek): poreuthentes de mathete ti estin· Ἔleos thelo kai oy thysian· oy gar elthon kalesai dikaious alla ⸀hamartoloys.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy and not sacrifice.' For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance."[/JESUS]

πορευθέντες δὲ μάθετε τί ἐστιν· Ἔλεος θέλω καὶ οὐ θυσίαν· οὐ γὰρ ἦλθον καλέσαι δικαίους ἀλλὰ ⸀ἁμαρτωλούς.

Phonetic (Greek): Tote proserchontai aytῷ ohi mathetai Ἰoannou legontes· Dia ti hemeis kai ohi Pharisaioi nesteyomen ⸀polla, ohi de mathetai sou oy nesteyousin;
Edified Edition (EDE)Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples fast not?"

Τότε προσέρχονται αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταὶ Ἰωάννου λέγοντες· Διὰ τί ἡμεῖς καὶ οἱ Φαρισαῖοι νηστεύομεν ⸀πολλά, οἱ δὲ μαθηταί σου οὐ νηστεύουσιν;

Phonetic (Greek): kai eipen aytois ho Ἰesoys· Me dynantai ohi yhioi toy nymphonos penthein ephʼ hoson metʼ ayton estin ho nymphios; eleysontai de hemerai hotan aparthῇ apʼ ayton ho nymphios, kai tote nesteysousin.
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus said to them, [JESUS]"Can the friends of the bridegroom mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? But the days will come when the bridegroom will be taken away from them, and then they will fast.[/JESUS]

καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Μὴ δύνανται οἱ υἱοὶ τοῦ νυμφῶνος πενθεῖν ἐφʼ ὅσον μετʼ αὐτῶν ἐστιν ὁ νυμφίος; ἐλεύσονται δὲ ἡμέραι ὅταν ἀπαρθῇ ἀπʼ αὐτῶν ὁ νυμφίος, καὶ τότε νηστεύσουσιν.

Phonetic (Greek): oydeis de epiballei epiblema ῥakous agnaphou epi himatiῳ palaiῷ· airei gar to pleroma aytoy apo toy himatiou, kai cheiron schisma ginetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]No one puts a piece of unshrunk cloth on an old garment; for the patch pulls away from the garment, and the tear is made worse.[/JESUS]

οὐδεὶς δὲ ἐπιβάλλει ἐπίβλημα ῥάκους ἀγνάφου ἐπὶ ἱματίῳ παλαιῷ· αἴρει γὰρ τὸ πλήρωμα αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ τοῦ ἱματίου, καὶ χεῖρον σχίσμα γίνεται.

Phonetic (Greek): oyde ballousin oinon neon eis askoys palaioys· ei de me ge, ῥegnyntai ohi askoi, kai ho oinos ekcheitai kai ohi askoi ⸀apollyntai· alla ballousin oinon neon eis askoys kainoys, kai amphoteroi synteroyntai.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Nor do they put new wine into old wineskins, or else the wineskins break, the wine is spilled, and the wineskins are ruined. But they put new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved."[/JESUS]

οὐδὲ βάλλουσιν οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς παλαιούς· εἰ δὲ μή γε, ῥήγνυνται οἱ ἀσκοί, καὶ ὁ οἶνος ἐκχεῖται καὶ οἱ ἀσκοὶ ⸀ἀπόλλυνται· ἀλλὰ βάλλουσιν οἶνον νέον εἰς ἀσκοὺς καινούς, καὶ ἀμφότεροι συντηροῦνται.

Phonetic (Greek): Tayta aytoy laloyntos aytois idoy archon ehis ⸀elthon prosekynei aytῷ legon hoti Ἡ thygater mou arti eteleytesen· alla elthon epithes ten cheira sou epʼ ayten, kai zesetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshipped Him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live."

Ταῦτα αὐτοῦ λαλοῦντος αὐτοῖς ἰδοὺ ἄρχων εἷς ⸀ἐλθὼν προσεκύνει αὐτῷ λέγων ὅτι Ἡ θυγάτηρ μου ἄρτι ἐτελεύτησεν· ἀλλὰ ἐλθὼν ἐπίθες τὴν χεῖρά σου ἐπʼ αὐτήν, καὶ ζήσεται.

Phonetic (Greek): kai egertheis ho Ἰesoys ⸀ekoloythei aytῷ kai ohi mathetai aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.

καὶ ἐγερθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ⸀ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ καὶ οἱ μαθηταὶ αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai idoy gyne ahimorrooysa dodeka ete proselthoysa opisthen hepsato toy kraspedou toy himatiou aytoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:

Καὶ ἰδοὺ γυνὴ αἱμορροοῦσα δώδεκα ἔτη προσελθοῦσα ὄπισθεν ἥψατο τοῦ κρασπέδου τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ·

Phonetic (Greek): elegen gar en heautῇ· Ἐan monon hapsomai toy himatiou aytoy sothesomai.
Edified Edition (EDE)For she said within herself, "If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole."

ἔλεγεν γὰρ ἐν ἑαυτῇ· Ἐὰν μόνον ἅψωμαι τοῦ ἱματίου αὐτοῦ σωθήσομαι.

Phonetic (Greek): ho de Ἰesoys ⸀strapheis kai idon ayten eipen· Tharsei, thygater· he pistis sou sesoken se. kai esothe he gyne apo tes horas ekeines.
Edified Edition (EDE)But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, [JESUS]"Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well."[/JESUS] And the woman was made well from that hour.

ὁ δὲ Ἰησοῦς ⸀στραφεὶς καὶ ἰδὼν αὐτὴν εἶπεν· Θάρσει, θύγατερ· ἡ πίστις σου σέσωκέν σε. καὶ ἐσώθη ἡ γυνὴ ἀπὸ τῆς ὥρας ἐκείνης.

Edified Edition (EDE)And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,

καὶ ἐλθὼν ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν τοῦ ἄρχοντος καὶ ἰδὼν τοὺς αὐλητὰς καὶ τὸν ὄχλον θορυβούμενον

Phonetic (Greek): ⸀elegen· Ἀnachoreite, oy gar apethanen to korasion alla katheydei· kai kategelon aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)He said to them, [JESUS]"Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping."[/JESUS] And they ridiculed Him.

⸀ἔλεγεν· Ἀναχωρεῖτε, οὐ γὰρ ἀπέθανεν τὸ κοράσιον ἀλλὰ καθεύδει· καὶ κατεγέλων αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): hote de exeblethe ho ochlos, eiselthon ekratesen tes cheiros aytes, kai egerthe to korasion.
Edified Edition (EDE)But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.

ὅτε δὲ ἐξεβλήθη ὁ ὄχλος, εἰσελθὼν ἐκράτησεν τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῆς, καὶ ἠγέρθη τὸ κοράσιον.

Edified Edition (EDE)And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.

καὶ ἐξῆλθεν ἡ φήμη αὕτη εἰς ὅλην τὴν γῆν ἐκείνην.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai paragonti ekeithen tῷ Ἰesoy ekoloythesan ⸀aytῷ dyo typhloi krazontes kai legontes· Ἐleeson hemas, ⸀yhie Dauid.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, "you son of David, have mercy on us."

Καὶ παράγοντι ἐκεῖθεν τῷ Ἰησοῦ ἠκολούθησαν ⸀αὐτῷ δύο τυφλοὶ κράζοντες καὶ λέγοντες· Ἐλέησον ἡμᾶς, ⸀υἱὲ Δαυίδ.

Phonetic (Greek): elthonti de eis ten oikian proselthon aytῷ ohi typhloi, kai legei aytois ho Ἰesoys· Pisteyete hoti dynamai toyto poiesai; legousin aytῷ· Nai, kyrie.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, [JESUS]"Do you believe that I am able to do this?"[/JESUS] They said to Him, "Yes, Lord."

ἐλθόντι δὲ εἰς τὴν οἰκίαν προσῆλθον αὐτῷ οἱ τυφλοί, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Πιστεύετε ὅτι δύναμαι τοῦτο ποιῆσαι; λέγουσιν αὐτῷ· Ναί, κύριε.

Phonetic (Greek): tote hepsato ton ophthalmon ayton legon· Kata ten pistin hymon genetheto hymin.
Edified Edition (EDE)Then He touched their eyes, saying, [JESUS]"According to your faith let it be to you."[/JESUS]

τότε ἥψατο τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν λέγων· Κατὰ τὴν πίστιν ὑμῶν γενηθήτω ὑμῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eneῴchthesan ayton ohi ophthalmoi. kai ⸀enebrimethe aytois ho Ἰesoys legon· Ὁrate medeis ginosketo·
Edified Edition (EDE)And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, [JESUS]"See that no man know it."[/JESUS]

καὶ ἠνεῴχθησαν αὐτῶν οἱ ὀφθαλμοί. καὶ ⸀ἐνεβριμήθη αὐτοῖς ὁ Ἰησοῦς λέγων· Ὁρᾶτε μηδεὶς γινωσκέτω·

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de exelthontes diephemisan ayton en holῃ tῇ gῇ ekeinῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.

οἱ δὲ ἐξελθόντες διεφήμισαν αὐτὸν ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ γῇ ἐκείνῃ.

Edified Edition (EDE)As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.

Αὐτῶν δὲ ἐξερχομένων ἰδοὺ προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ ⸀ἄνθρωπον κωφὸν δαιμονιζόμενον·

Phonetic (Greek): kai ekblethentos toy daimoniou elalesen ho kophos. kai ethaymasan ohi ochloi legontes· Oydepote ephane ohytos en tῷ Ἰsrael.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spoke: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, "It was never so seen in Israel."

καὶ ἐκβληθέντος τοῦ δαιμονίου ἐλάλησεν ὁ κωφός. καὶ ἐθαύμασαν οἱ ὄχλοι λέγοντες· Οὐδέποτε ἐφάνη οὕτως ἐν τῷ Ἰσραήλ.

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de Pharisaioi elegon· Ἐn tῷ archonti ton daimonion ekballei ta daimonia.
Edified Edition (EDE)But the Pharisees said, "He casts out demons through the prince of the demons."

οἱ δὲ Φαρισαῖοι ἔλεγον· Ἐν τῷ ἄρχοντι τῶν δαιμονίων ἐκβάλλει τὰ δαιμόνια.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai periegen ho Ἰesoys tas poleis pasas kai tas komas, didaskon en tais synagogais ayton kai kerysson to eyangelion tes basileias kai therapeyon pasan noson kai pasan ⸀malakian.
Edified Edition (EDE)And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.

Καὶ περιῆγεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς τὰς πόλεις πάσας καὶ τὰς κώμας, διδάσκων ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν καὶ κηρύσσων τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς βασιλείας καὶ θεραπεύων πᾶσαν νόσον καὶ πᾶσαν ⸀μαλακίαν.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἰdon de toys ochlous esplanchnisthe peri ayton hoti esan eskylmenoi kai errimmenoi ⸀hosei probata me echonta poimena.
Edified Edition (EDE)But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

Ἰδὼν δὲ τοὺς ὄχλους ἐσπλαγχνίσθη περὶ αὐτῶν ὅτι ἦσαν ἐσκυλμένοι καὶ ἐρριμμένοι ⸀ὡσεὶ πρόβατα μὴ ἔχοντα ποιμένα.

Phonetic (Greek): tote legei tois mathetais aytoy· Ὁ men therismos polys, ohi de ergatai oligoi·
Edified Edition (EDE)Then He said to His disciples, [JESUS]"The harvest truly is plentiful, but the labourers are few.[/JESUS]

τότε λέγει τοῖς μαθηταῖς αὐτοῦ· Ὁ μὲν θερισμὸς πολύς, οἱ δὲ ἐργάται ὀλίγοι·

Phonetic (Greek): deethete oyn toy kyriou toy therismoy hopos ekbalῃ ergatas eis ton therismon aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)[JESUS]Therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers into His harvest."[/JESUS]

δεήθητε οὖν τοῦ κυρίου τοῦ θερισμοῦ ὅπως ἐκβάλῃ ἐργάτας εἰς τὸν θερισμὸν αὐτοῦ.
