Chapter 3
1
Phonetic (Greek): To loipon, adelphoi mou, chairete en kyriῳ. ta ayta graphein hymin emoi men oyk okneron, hymin de asphales.
Edified Edition (EDE)Finally, my brothers, rejoice in the Lord. For me to write the same things to you is not tedious, but for you it is safe.

2
Phonetic (Greek): Blepete toys kynas, blepete toys kakoys ergatas, blepete ten katatomen.
Edified Edition (EDE)Beware of dogs, beware of evil workers, beware of the mutilation!

3
Phonetic (Greek): hemeis gar esmen he peritome, ohi pneymati theoy latreyontes kai kauchomenoi en Christῷ Ἰesoy kai oyk en sarki pepoithotes,
Edified Edition (EDE)For we are the circumcision, who worship God in the Spirit, rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh,

4
Phonetic (Greek): kaiper ego echon pepoithesin kai en sarki. Ei tis dokei allos pepoithenai en sarki, ego mallon·
Edified Edition (EDE)though I also might have confidence in the flesh. If anyone else thinks he may have confidence in the flesh, I more so:

5
Phonetic (Greek): peritomῇ oktaemeros, ek genous Ἰsrael, phyles Beniamin, Ἑbraios ex Ἑbraion, kata nomon Pharisaios,
Edified Edition (EDE)circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of the Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;

6
Phonetic (Greek): kata ⸀zelos diokon ten ekklesian, kata dikaiosynen ten en nomῳ genomenos amemptos.
Edified Edition (EDE)concerning zeal, persecuting the church; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

7
Phonetic (Greek): Ἀlla hatina en moi kerde, tayta hegemai dia ton Christon zemian.
Edified Edition (EDE)But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ.

8
Phonetic (Greek): alla ⸀menoynge kai hegoymai panta zemian einai dia to hyperechon tes gnoseos Christoy Ἰesoy toy kyriou mou diʼ hon ta panta ezemiothen, kai hegoymai ⸀skybala hina Christon kerdeso
Edified Edition (EDE)Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ

9
Phonetic (Greek): kai ehyretho en aytῷ, me echon emen dikaiosynen ten ek nomou alla ten dia pisteos Christoy, ten ek theoy dikaiosynen epi tῇ pistei,
Edified Edition (EDE)and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

10
Phonetic (Greek): toy gnonai ayton kai ten dynamin tes anastaseos aytoy kai ⸀koinonian pathematon aytoy, ⸀symmorphizomenos tῷ thanatῳ aytoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death,

11
Phonetic (Greek): ei pos katanteso eis ten exanastasin ⸂ten ek⸃ nekron.
Edified Edition (EDE)if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

12
Phonetic (Greek): Oych hoti ede elabon e ede teteleiomai, dioko de ei kai katalabo, ephʼ ho kai katelemphthen hypo ⸀Christoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.

13
Phonetic (Greek): adelphoi, ego emauton ⸀oy logizomai kateilephenai· hen de, ta men opiso epilanthanomenos tois de emprosthen epekteinomenos,
Edified Edition (EDE)Brothers, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,

14
Phonetic (Greek): kata skopon dioko ⸀eis to brabeion tes ano kleseos toy theoy en Christῷ Ἰesoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

15
Phonetic (Greek): hosoi oyn teleioi, toyto phronomen· kai ei ti heteros phroneite, kai toyto ho theos hymin apokalypsei·
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

16
Phonetic (Greek): plen eis ho ephthasamen, tῷ aytῷ ⸀stoichein.
Edified Edition (EDE)Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.

17
Phonetic (Greek): Symmimetai mou ginesthe, adelphoi, kai skopeite toys ohyto peripatoyntas kathos echete typon hemas·
Edified Edition (EDE)Brothers, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern.

18
Phonetic (Greek): polloi gar peripatoysin ohys pollakis elegon hymin, nyn de kai klaion lego, toys echthroys toy stauroy toy Christoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)For many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ:

19
Phonetic (Greek): hon to telos apoleia, hon ho theos he koilia kai he doxa en tῇ aischynῃ ayton, ohi ta epigeia phronoyntes.
Edified Edition (EDE)whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who set their mind on earthly things.

20
Phonetic (Greek): hemon gar to politeuma en oyranois hyparchei, ex ohy kai sotera apekdechometha kyrion Ἰesoyn Christon,
Edified Edition (EDE)For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ,

21
Phonetic (Greek): hos metaschematisei to soma tes tapeinoseos ⸀hemon symmorphon tῷ somati tes doxes aytoy kata ten energeian toy dynasthai ayton kai hypotaxai ⸀ahytῷ ta panta.
Edified Edition (EDE)who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself.
