Chapter 4
1
Phonetic (Greek): hoste, adelphoi mou agapetoi kai epipothetoi, chara kai stephanos mou, ohytos stekete en kyriῳ, agapetoi.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore, my beloved and longed-for brothers, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, beloved.

2
Phonetic (Greek): Eyodian parakalo kai Syntychen parakalo to ayto phronein en kyriῳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)I implore Euodia and I implore Syntyche to be of the same mind in the Lord.

3
Phonetic (Greek): nai eroto kai se, ⸂gnesie syzyge⸃, syllambanou aytais, ahitines en tῷ eyangeliῳ synethlesan moi meta kai Klementos kai ton loipon synergon mou, hon ta onomata en biblῳ zoes.
Edified Edition (EDE)And I urge you also, true companion, help these women who laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers, whose names are in the Book of Life.

4
Phonetic (Greek): Chairete en kyriῳ pantote· palin ero, chairete.
Edified Edition (EDE)Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice!

5
Phonetic (Greek): to epieikes hymon gnostheto pasin anthropois. ho kyrios engys·
Edified Edition (EDE)Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

6
Phonetic (Greek): meden merimnate, allʼ en panti tῇ proseuchῇ kai tῇ deesei metʼ eycharistias ta aitemata hymon gnorizestho pros ton theon·
Edified Edition (EDE)Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;

7
Phonetic (Greek): kai he eirene toy theoy he hyperechousa panta noyn phrouresei tas kardias hymon kai ta noemata hymon en Christῷ Ἰesoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

8
Phonetic (Greek): To loipon, adelphoi, hosa estin alethe, hosa semna, hosa dikaia, hosa hagna, hosa prosphile, hosa eyphema, ei tis arete kai ei tis epainos, tayta logizesthe·
Edified Edition (EDE)Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy, meditate on these things.

9
Phonetic (Greek): ha kai emathete kai parelabete kai ekoysate kai eidete en emoi, tayta prassete· kai ho theos tes eirenes estai methʼ hymon.
Edified Edition (EDE)The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

10
Phonetic (Greek): Ἐcharen de en kyriῳ megalos hoti ede pote anethalete to hyper emoy phronein, ephʼ ho kai ephroneite ekaireisthe de.
Edified Edition (EDE)But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity.

11
Phonetic (Greek): oych hoti kathʼ hysteresin lego, ego gar emathon en ohis eimi aytarkes einai·
Edified Edition (EDE)Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

12
Phonetic (Greek): oida kai tapeinoysthai, oida kai perisseyein· en panti kai en pasin memyemai, kai chortazesthai kai peinan, kai perisseyein kai hystereisthai·
Edified Edition (EDE)I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

13
Phonetic (Greek): panta ischyo en tῷ endynamoynti ⸀me.
Edified Edition (EDE)I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

14
Phonetic (Greek): plen kalos epoiesate synkoinonesantes mou tῇ thlipsei.

15
Phonetic (Greek): Oidate de kai hymeis, Philippesioi, hoti en archῇ toy eyangeliou, hote exelthon apo Makedonias, oydemia moi ekklesia ekoinonesen eis logon doseos kai lempseos ei me hymeis monoi,
Edified Edition (EDE)Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only.

16
Phonetic (Greek): hoti kai en Thessalonikῃ kai hapax kai dis eis ten chreian moi epempsate.
Edified Edition (EDE)For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities.

17
Phonetic (Greek): oych hoti epizeto to doma, alla epizeto ton karpon ton pleonazonta eis logon hymon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Not that I seek the gift, but I seek the fruit that abounds to your account.

18
Phonetic (Greek): apecho de panta kai perisseyo· pepleromai dexamenos para Ἐpaphroditou ta parʼ hymon, osmen eyodias, thysian dekten, eyareston tῷ theῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Indeed I have all and abound. I am full, having received from Epaphroditus the things sent from you, a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God.

Edified Edition (EDE)And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

20
Phonetic (Greek): tῷ de theῷ kai patri hemon he doxa eis toys aionas ton aionon· amen.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now to our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

21
Phonetic (Greek): Ἀspasasthe panta hagion en Christῷ Ἰesoy. aspazontai hymas ohi syn emoi adelphoi.
Edified Edition (EDE)Greet every saint in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you.

22
Phonetic (Greek): aspazontai hymas pantes ohi hagioi, malista de ohi ek tes Kaisaros oikias.
Edified Edition (EDE)All the saints greet you, especially those who are of Caesar’s household.

23
Phonetic (Greek): he charis toy kyriou Ἰesoy Christoy meta ⸂toy pneymatos⸃ ⸀hymon.
Edified Edition (EDE)The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
