Chapter 12
1
Phonetic (Greek): Kai semeion mega ophthe en tῷ oyranῷ, gyne peribeblemene ton helion, kai he selene hypokato ton podon aytes, kai epi tes kephales aytes stephanos asteron dodeka,
Edified Edition (EDE)And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:

Καὶ σημεῖον μέγα ὤφθη ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ, γυνὴ περιβεβλημένη τὸν ἥλιον, καὶ ἡ σελήνη ὑποκάτω τῶν ποδῶν αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐπὶ τῆς κεφαλῆς αὐτῆς στέφανος ἀστέρων δώδεκα,

Phonetic (Greek): kai en gastri echousa· ⸂kai krazei⸃ odinousa kai basanizomene tekein.
Edified Edition (EDE)And she being with child cried, travailing in birth, and pained to be delivered.

καὶ ἐν γαστρὶ ἔχουσα· ⸂καὶ κράζει⸃ ὠδίνουσα καὶ βασανιζομένη τεκεῖν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ophthe allo semeion en tῷ oyranῷ, kai idoy drakon ⸂megas pyrros⸃, echon kephalas hepta kai kerata deka kai epi tas kephalas aytoy hepta diademata,
Edified Edition (EDE)And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.

καὶ ὤφθη ἄλλο σημεῖον ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ, καὶ ἰδοὺ δράκων ⸂μέγας πυρρός⸃, ἔχων κεφαλὰς ἑπτὰ καὶ κέρατα δέκα καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτοῦ ἑπτὰ διαδήματα,

Phonetic (Greek): kai he oyra aytoy syrei to triton ton asteron toy oyranoy, kai ebalen aytoys eis ten gen. kai ho drakon hesteken enopion tes gynaikos tes melloyses tekein, hina hotan tekῃ to teknon aytes kataphagῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven, and did cast them to the earth: and the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered, for to devour her child as soon as it was born.

καὶ ἡ οὐρὰ αὐτοῦ σύρει τὸ τρίτον τῶν ἀστέρων τοῦ οὐρανοῦ, καὶ ἔβαλεν αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν. καὶ ὁ δράκων ἕστηκεν ἐνώπιον τῆς γυναικὸς τῆς μελλούσης τεκεῖν, ἵνα ὅταν τέκῃ τὸ τέκνον αὐτῆς καταφάγῃ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eteken yhion, ⸀arsen, hos mellei poimainein panta ta ethne en ῥabdῳ siderᾷ· kai herpasthe to teknon aytes pros ton theon kai pros ton thronon aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And she brought forth a male child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up to God, and to His throne.

καὶ ἔτεκεν υἱόν, ⸀ἄρσεν, ὃς μέλλει ποιμαίνειν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐν ῥάβδῳ σιδηρᾷ· καὶ ἡρπάσθη τὸ τέκνον αὐτῆς πρὸς τὸν θεὸν καὶ πρὸς τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai he gyne ephygen eis ten eremon, hopou echei ekei topon hetoimasmenon ⸀apo toy theoy, hina ekei ⸀trephosin ayten hemeras chilias diakosias hexekonta.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and sixty days.

καὶ ἡ γυνὴ ἔφυγεν εἰς τὴν ἔρημον, ὅπου ἔχει ἐκεῖ τόπον ἡτοιμασμένον ⸀ἀπὸ τοῦ θεοῦ, ἵνα ἐκεῖ ⸀τρέφωσιν αὐτὴν ἡμέρας χιλίας διακοσίας ἑξήκοντα.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai egeneto polemos en tῷ oyranῷ, ho Michael kai ohi angeloi aytoy ⸀toy polemesai meta toy drakontos. kai ho drakon epolemesen kai ohi angeloi aytoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels,

Καὶ ἐγένετο πόλεμος ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ, ὁ Μιχαὴλ καὶ οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτοῦ ⸀τοῦ πολεμῆσαι μετὰ τοῦ δράκοντος. καὶ ὁ δράκων ἐπολέμησεν καὶ οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτοῦ,

Phonetic (Greek): kai oyk ⸀ischysen, oyde topos ehyrethe ⸀ayton eti en tῷ oyranῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

καὶ οὐκ ⸀ἴσχυσεν, οὐδὲ τόπος εὑρέθη ⸀αὐτῶν ἔτι ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eblethe ho drakon ho megas, ho ophis ho archaios, ho kaloymenos Diabolos kai ⸀ho Satanas, ho planon ten oikoumenen holen— eblethe eis ten gen, kai ohi angeloi aytoy metʼ aytoy eblethesan.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

καὶ ἐβλήθη ὁ δράκων ὁ μέγας, ὁ ὄφις ὁ ἀρχαῖος, ὁ καλούμενος Διάβολος καὶ ⸀ὁ Σατανᾶς, ὁ πλανῶν τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅλην— ἐβλήθη εἰς τὴν γῆν, καὶ οἱ ἄγγελοι αὐτοῦ μετʼ αὐτοῦ ἐβλήθησαν.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai ekousa phonen megalen en tῷ oyranῷ legousan· Ἄrti egeneto he soteria kai he dynamis kai he basileia toy theoy hemon kai he exousia toy christoy aytoy, hoti eblethe ho ⸀kategor ton adelphon hemon, ho kategoron ⸀aytoys enopion toy theoy hemon hemeras kai nyktos.
Edified Edition (EDE)And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, "Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of His Christ: for the accuser of our brothers is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night."

Καὶ ἤκουσα φωνὴν μεγάλην ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ λέγουσαν· Ἄρτι ἐγένετο ἡ σωτηρία καὶ ἡ δύναμις καὶ ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν καὶ ἡ ἐξουσία τοῦ χριστοῦ αὐτοῦ, ὅτι ἐβλήθη ὁ ⸀κατήγωρ τῶν ἀδελφῶν ἡμῶν, ὁ κατηγορῶν ⸀αὐτοὺς ἐνώπιον τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτός.

Phonetic (Greek): kai aytoi enikesan ayton dia to ahima toy arniou kai dia ton logon tes martyrias ayton, kai oyk egapesan ten psychen ayton achri thanatou·
Edified Edition (EDE)And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives to the death.

καὶ αὐτοὶ ἐνίκησαν αὐτὸν διὰ τὸ αἷμα τοῦ ἀρνίου καὶ διὰ τὸν λόγον τῆς μαρτυρίας αὐτῶν, καὶ οὐκ ἠγάπησαν τὴν ψυχὴν αὐτῶν ἄχρι θανάτου·

Phonetic (Greek): dia toyto eyphrainesthe, ⸀ohi oyranoi kai ohi en aytois skenoyntes. oyai ⸂ten gen kai ten thalassan⸃, hoti katebe ho diabolos pros hymas, echon thymon megan, eidos hoti oligon kairon echei.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them. Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.

διὰ τοῦτο εὐφραίνεσθε, ⸀οἱ οὐρανοὶ καὶ οἱ ἐν αὐτοῖς σκηνοῦντες. οὐαὶ ⸂τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν⸃, ὅτι κατέβη ὁ διάβολος πρὸς ὑμᾶς, ἔχων θυμὸν μέγαν, εἰδὼς ὅτι ὀλίγον καιρὸν ἔχει.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai hote eiden ho drakon hoti eblethe eis ten gen, edioxen ten gynaika hetis eteken ton arsena.
Edified Edition (EDE)And when the dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the male child.

Καὶ ὅτε εἶδεν ὁ δράκων ὅτι ἐβλήθη εἰς τὴν γῆν, ἐδίωξεν τὴν γυναῖκα ἥτις ἔτεκεν τὸν ἄρσενα.

Phonetic (Greek): kai edothesan tῇ gynaiki ⸀ahi dyo pteryges toy aetoy toy megalou, hina petetai eis ten eremon eis ton topon aytes, ⸂hopou trephetai⸃ ekei kairon kai kairoys kai hemisy kairoy apo prosopou toy opheos.
Edified Edition (EDE)And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.

καὶ ἐδόθησαν τῇ γυναικὶ ⸀αἱ δύο πτέρυγες τοῦ ἀετοῦ τοῦ μεγάλου, ἵνα πέτηται εἰς τὴν ἔρημον εἰς τὸν τόπον αὐτῆς, ⸂ὅπου τρέφεται⸃ ἐκεῖ καιρὸν καὶ καιροὺς καὶ ἥμισυ καιροῦ ἀπὸ προσώπου τοῦ ὄφεως.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ebalen ho ophis ek toy stomatos aytoy opiso tes gynaikos hydor hos potamon, hina ayten potamophoreton poiesῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.

καὶ ἔβαλεν ὁ ὄφις ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ ὀπίσω τῆς γυναικὸς ὕδωρ ὡς ποταμόν, ἵνα αὐτὴν ποταμοφόρητον ποιήσῃ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eboethesen he ge tῇ gynaiki, kai enoixen he ge to stoma aytes kai katepien ton potamon hon ebalen ho drakon ek toy stomatos aytoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.

καὶ ἐβοήθησεν ἡ γῆ τῇ γυναικί, καὶ ἤνοιξεν ἡ γῆ τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς καὶ κατέπιεν τὸν ποταμὸν ὃν ἔβαλεν ὁ δράκων ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ·

Phonetic (Greek): kai orgisthe ho drakon epi tῇ gynaiki, kai apelthen poiesai polemon meta ton loipon toy spermatos aytes, ton teroynton tas entolas toy theoy kai echonton ten martyrian Ἰesoy·
Edified Edition (EDE)And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.

καὶ ὠργίσθη ὁ δράκων ἐπὶ τῇ γυναικί, καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ποιῆσαι πόλεμον μετὰ τῶν λοιπῶν τοῦ σπέρματος αὐτῆς, τῶν τηρούντων τὰς ἐντολὰς τοῦ θεοῦ καὶ ἐχόντων τὴν μαρτυρίαν Ἰησοῦ·

καὶ ⸀ἐστάθη ἐπὶ τὴν ἄμμον τῆς θαλάσσης.
