Chapter 13
1
Phonetic (Greek): Kai eidon ek tes thalasses therion anabainon, echon kerata deka kai kephalas hepta, kai epi ton keraton aytoy deka diademata, kai epi tas kephalas aytoy ⸀onomata blasphemias.
Edified Edition (EDE)And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

Καὶ εἶδον ἐκ τῆς θαλάσσης θηρίον ἀναβαῖνον, ἔχον κέρατα δέκα καὶ κεφαλὰς ἑπτά, καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν κεράτων αὐτοῦ δέκα διαδήματα, καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς αὐτοῦ ⸀ὀνόματα βλασφημίας.

Phonetic (Greek): kai to therion ho eidon en homoion pardalei, kai ohi podes aytoy hos arkou, kai to stoma aytoy hos stoma leontos. kai edoken aytῷ ho drakon ten dynamin aytoy kai ton thronon aytoy kai exousian megalen.
Edified Edition (EDE)And the beast which I saw was like to a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.

καὶ τὸ θηρίον ὃ εἶδον ἦν ὅμοιον παρδάλει, καὶ οἱ πόδες αὐτοῦ ὡς ἄρκου, καὶ τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ ὡς στόμα λέοντος. καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ ὁ δράκων τὴν δύναμιν αὐτοῦ καὶ τὸν θρόνον αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξουσίαν μεγάλην.

Phonetic (Greek): kai mian ek ton kephalon aytoy ⸀hos esphagmenen eis thanaton, kai he plege toy thanatou aytoy etherapeythe. kai ⸀ethaumasthe ⸂hole he ge⸃ opiso toy theriou,
Edified Edition (EDE)And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.

καὶ μίαν ἐκ τῶν κεφαλῶν αὐτοῦ ⸀ὡς ἐσφαγμένην εἰς θάνατον, καὶ ἡ πληγὴ τοῦ θανάτου αὐτοῦ ἐθεραπεύθη. καὶ ⸀ἐθαυμάσθη ⸂ὅλη ἡ γῆ⸃ ὀπίσω τοῦ θηρίου,

Phonetic (Greek): kai prosekynesan tῷ drakonti ⸂hoti edoken⸃ ten exousian tῷ theriῳ, kai prosekynesan tῷ theriῳ legontes· Tis homoios tῷ theriῳ, kai tis ⸀dynatai polemesai metʼ aytoy;
Edified Edition (EDE)And they worshipped the dragon who gave power to the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, "Who is like to the beast? who is able to make war with him?"

καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ δράκοντι ⸂ὅτι ἔδωκεν⸃ τὴν ἐξουσίαν τῷ θηρίῳ, καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ θηρίῳ λέγοντες· Τίς ὅμοιος τῷ θηρίῳ, καὶ τίς ⸀δύναται πολεμῆσαι μετʼ αὐτοῦ;

Phonetic (Greek): Kai edothe aytῷ stoma laloyn megala kai ⸀blasphemias, kai edothe aytῷ ⸀exousia poiesai menas ⸀tesserakonta dyo.
Edified Edition (EDE)And there was given to him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given to him to continue forty and two months.

Καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ στόμα λαλοῦν μεγάλα καὶ ⸀βλασφημίας, καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ⸀ἐξουσία ποιῆσαι μῆνας ⸀τεσσεράκοντα δύο.

Phonetic (Greek): kai enoixe to stoma aytoy eis ⸀blasphemias pros ton theon, blasphemesai to onoma aytoy kai ten skenen aytoy, toys en tῷ oyranῷ skenoyntas.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme His name, and His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven.

καὶ ἤνοιξε τὸ στόμα αὐτοῦ εἰς ⸀βλασφημίας πρὸς τὸν θεόν, βλασφημῆσαι τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ καὶ τὴν σκηνὴν αὐτοῦ, τοὺς ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ σκηνοῦντας.

Phonetic (Greek): kai edothe aytῷ poiesai polemon meta ton hagion kai nikesai aytoys, kai edothe aytῷ exousia epi pasan phylen kai laon kai glossan kai ethnos.
Edified Edition (EDE)And it was given to him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ποιῆσαι πόλεμον μετὰ τῶν ἁγίων καὶ νικῆσαι αὐτούς, καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ἐξουσία ἐπὶ πᾶσαν φυλὴν καὶ λαὸν καὶ γλῶσσαν καὶ ἔθνος.

Phonetic (Greek): kai proskynesousin ⸀ayton pantes ohi katoikoyntes epi tes ges, ⸀ohy oy gegraptai to onoma ⸀aytoy en tῷ bibliῳ tes zoes toy arniou toy esphagmenou apo kataboles kosmou.
Edified Edition (EDE)And all who dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

καὶ προσκυνήσουσιν ⸀αὐτὸν πάντες οἱ κατοικοῦντες ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, ⸀οὗ οὐ γέγραπται τὸ ὄνομα ⸀αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ βιβλίῳ τῆς ζωῆς τοῦ ἀρνίου τοῦ ἐσφαγμένου ἀπὸ καταβολῆς κόσμου.

Phonetic (Greek): Ei tis echei oys akousato.
Edified Edition (EDE)If any person has an ear, let him hear.

Εἴ τις ἔχει οὖς ἀκουσάτω.

Phonetic (Greek): ei tis ⸂eis aichmalosian, eis aichmalosian⸃ hypagei· ei tis en machairῃ ⸀apoktanthenai ayton en machairῃ apoktanthenai. hode estin he hypomone kai he pistis ton hagion.
Edified Edition (EDE)He who leads into captivity shall go into captivity: he who kills with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

εἴ τις ⸂εἰς αἰχμαλωσίαν, εἰς αἰχμαλωσίαν⸃ ὑπάγει· εἴ τις ἐν μαχαίρῃ ⸀ἀποκτανθῆναι αὐτὸν ἐν μαχαίρῃ ἀποκτανθῆναι. ὧδέ ἐστιν ἡ ὑπομονὴ καὶ ἡ πίστις τῶν ἁγίων.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai eidon allo therion anabainon ek tes ges, kai eichen kerata dyo homoia arniῳ, kai elalei hos drakon.
Edified Edition (EDE)And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon.

Καὶ εἶδον ἄλλο θηρίον ἀναβαῖνον ἐκ τῆς γῆς, καὶ εἶχεν κέρατα δύο ὅμοια ἀρνίῳ, καὶ ἐλάλει ὡς δράκων.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ten exousian toy protou theriou pasan poiei enopion aytoy. kai ⸀poiei ten gen kai toys en aytῇ katoikoyntas hina ⸀proskynesousin to therion to proton, ohy etherapeythe he plege toy thanatou aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and those who dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

καὶ τὴν ἐξουσίαν τοῦ πρώτου θηρίου πᾶσαν ποιεῖ ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ. καὶ ⸀ποιεῖ τὴν γῆν καὶ τοὺς ἐν αὐτῇ κατοικοῦντας ἵνα ⸀προσκυνήσουσιν τὸ θηρίον τὸ πρῶτον, οὗ ἐθεραπεύθη ἡ πληγὴ τοῦ θανάτου αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai poiei semeia megala, ⸂hina kai pyr poiῇ⸃ ek toy oyranoy ⸂katabainein eis⸃ ten gen enopion ton anthropon.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of people,

καὶ ποιεῖ σημεῖα μεγάλα, ⸂ἵνα καὶ πῦρ ποιῇ⸃ ἐκ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ⸂καταβαίνειν εἰς⸃ τὴν γῆν ἐνώπιον τῶν ἀνθρώπων.

Phonetic (Greek): kai planᾷ ⸀toys katoikoyntas epi tes ges dia ta semeia ha edothe aytῷ poiesai enopion toy theriou, legon tois katoikoysin epi tes ges poiesai eikona tῷ theriῳ, ⸂hos echei⸃ ten plegen ⸂tes machaires kai ezesen⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)And deceives those who dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to those who dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

καὶ πλανᾷ ⸀τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς διὰ τὰ σημεῖα ἃ ἐδόθη αὐτῷ ποιῆσαι ἐνώπιον τοῦ θηρίου, λέγων τοῖς κατοικοῦσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς ποιῆσαι εἰκόνα τῷ θηρίῳ, ⸂ὃς ἔχει⸃ τὴν πληγὴν ⸂τῆς μαχαίρης καὶ ἔζησεν⸃.

Phonetic (Greek): kai edothe ⸀aytῷ ⸂doynai pneyma⸃ tῇ eikoni toy theriou, hina kai lalesῃ he eikon toy theriou kai poiesῃ ⸀hina hosoi ean me proskynesosin tῇ eikoni toy theriou apoktanthosin.
Edified Edition (EDE)And he had power to give life to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

καὶ ἐδόθη ⸀αὐτῷ ⸂δοῦναι πνεῦμα⸃ τῇ εἰκόνι τοῦ θηρίου, ἵνα καὶ λαλήσῃ ἡ εἰκὼν τοῦ θηρίου καὶ ποιήσῃ ⸀ἵνα ὅσοι ἐὰν μὴ προσκυνήσωσιν τῇ εἰκόνι τοῦ θηρίου ἀποκτανθῶσιν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai poiei pantas, toys mikroys kai toys megalous, kai toys plousious kai toys ptochoys, kai toys eleutherous kai toys doylous, hina ⸀dosin aytois ⸀charagma epi tes cheiros ayton tes dexias e epi to metopon ayton,
Edified Edition (EDE)And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

καὶ ποιεῖ πάντας, τοὺς μικροὺς καὶ τοὺς μεγάλους, καὶ τοὺς πλουσίους καὶ τοὺς πτωχούς, καὶ τοὺς ἐλευθέρους καὶ τοὺς δούλους, ἵνα ⸀δῶσιν αὐτοῖς ⸀χάραγμα ἐπὶ τῆς χειρὸς αὐτῶν τῆς δεξιᾶς ἢ ἐπὶ τὸ μέτωπον αὐτῶν,

Phonetic (Greek): kai hina me tis ⸀dynetai agorasai e polesai ei me ho echon to charagma, to onoma toy theriou e ton arithmon toy onomatos aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)And that no person might buy or sell, save he who had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

καὶ ἵνα μή τις ⸀δύνηται ἀγοράσαι ἢ πωλῆσαι εἰ μὴ ὁ ἔχων τὸ χάραγμα, τὸ ὄνομα τοῦ θηρίου ἢ τὸν ἀριθμὸν τοῦ ὀνόματος αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): hode he sophia estin· ho echon noyn psephisato ton arithmon toy theriou, arithmos gar anthropou estin· kai ho arithmos ⸀aytoy ⸂hexakosioi hexekonta hex⸃.
Edified Edition (EDE)Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a person; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

ὧδε ἡ σοφία ἐστίν· ὁ ἔχων νοῦν ψηφισάτω τὸν ἀριθμὸν τοῦ θηρίου, ἀριθμὸς γὰρ ἀνθρώπου ἐστίν· καὶ ὁ ἀριθμὸς ⸀αὐτοῦ ⸂ἑξακόσιοι ἑξήκοντα ἕξ⸃.
