Chapter 19

Edified Edition (EDE)And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, "Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, to the Lord our God:"

Μετὰ ταῦτα ἤκουσα ὡς φωνὴν μεγάλην ὄχλου πολλοῦ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ λεγόντων· Ἁλληλουϊά· ἡ σωτηρία καὶ ἡ ⸂δόξα καὶ ἡ δύναμις⸃ τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν,

Phonetic (Greek): hoti alethinai kai dikaiai ahi kriseis aytoy· hoti ekrinen ten pornen ten megalen hetis ⸀ephtheiren ten gen en tῇ porneiᾳ aytes, kai exedikesen to ahima ton doylon aytoy ek cheiros aytes.

Edified Edition (EDE)"For true and righteous are His judgements: for He has judged the great harlot, who did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and has avenged the blood of His servants at her hand."

ὅτι ἀληθιναὶ καὶ δίκαιαι αἱ κρίσεις αὐτοῦ· ὅτι ἔκρινεν τὴν πόρνην τὴν μεγάλην ἥτις ⸀ἔφθειρεν τὴν γῆν ἐν τῇ πορνείᾳ αὐτῆς, καὶ ἐξεδίκησεν τὸ αἷμα τῶν δούλων αὐτοῦ ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτῆς.

Phonetic (Greek): kai deyteron ⸀eirekan· Ἁllelouia· kai ho kapnos aytes anabainei eis toys aionas ton aionon.

Edified Edition (EDE)And again they said, "Alleluia." And her smoke rose up forever and ever.

καὶ δεύτερον ⸀εἴρηκαν· Ἁλληλουϊά· καὶ ὁ καπνὸς αὐτῆς ἀναβαίνει εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων.

Phonetic (Greek): kai epesan ohi presbyteroi ohi eikosi tessares kai ta tessara zῷa, kai prosekynesan tῷ theῷ tῷ kathemenῳ epi ⸂tῷ thronῳ⸃ legontes· Ἀmen, Ἁllelouia.

Edified Edition (EDE)And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God who sat on the throne, saying, "Amen; Alleluia."

καὶ ἔπεσαν οἱ πρεσβύτεροι οἱ εἴκοσι τέσσαρες καὶ τὰ τέσσαρα ζῷα, καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ θεῷ τῷ καθημένῳ ἐπὶ ⸂τῷ θρόνῳ⸃ λέγοντες· Ἀμήν, Ἁλληλουϊά.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai phone apo toy thronou exelthen legousa· Aineite ⸂tῷ theῷ⸃ hemon, pantes ohi doyloi aytoy, ⸀kai ohi phoboymenoi ayton, ohi mikroi kai ohi megaloi.

Edified Edition (EDE)And a voice came out of the throne, saying, "Praise our God, all you His servants, and you who fear Him, both small and great."

Καὶ φωνὴ ἀπὸ τοῦ θρόνου ἐξῆλθεν λέγουσα· Αἰνεῖτε ⸂τῷ θεῷ⸃ ἡμῶν, πάντες οἱ δοῦλοι αὐτοῦ, ⸀καὶ οἱ φοβούμενοι αὐτόν, οἱ μικροὶ καὶ οἱ μεγάλοι.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ekousa hos phonen ochlou polloy kai hos phonen hydaton pollon kai hos phonen bronton ischyron, ⸀legonton· Ἁllelouia, hoti ebasileusen kyrios, ho ⸀theos, ho pantokrator.

Edified Edition (EDE)And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, "Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigns."

καὶ ἤκουσα ὡς φωνὴν ὄχλου πολλοῦ καὶ ὡς φωνὴν ὑδάτων πολλῶν καὶ ὡς φωνὴν βροντῶν ἰσχυρῶν, ⸀λεγόντων· Ἁλληλουϊά, ὅτι ἐβασίλευσεν κύριος, ὁ ⸀θεός, ὁ παντοκράτωρ.

Phonetic (Greek): chairomen kai ⸀agalliomen, kai ⸀dosomen ten doxan aytῷ, hoti elthen ho gamos toy arniou, kai he gyne aytoy hetoimasen heauten,

Edified Edition (EDE)"Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to Him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and His wife has made herself ready."

χαίρωμεν καὶ ⸀ἀγαλλιῶμεν, καὶ ⸀δώσομεν τὴν δόξαν αὐτῷ, ὅτι ἦλθεν ὁ γάμος τοῦ ἀρνίου, καὶ ἡ γυνὴ αὐτοῦ ἡτοίμασεν ἑαυτήν,

Phonetic (Greek): kai edothe aytῇ hina peribaletai byssinon ⸀lampron katharon, to gar byssinon ta dikaiomata ton hagion estin.

Edified Edition (EDE)And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

καὶ ἐδόθη αὐτῇ ἵνα περιβάληται βύσσινον ⸀λαμπρὸν καθαρόν, τὸ γὰρ βύσσινον τὰ δικαιώματα τῶν ἁγίων ἐστίν.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai legei moi· Grapson· Makarioi ohi eis to deipnon toy gamou toy arniou keklemenoi. kai legei moi· Ohytoi ohi logoi alethinoi toy theoy eisin.

Edified Edition (EDE)And he says to me, "Write, Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb." And he says to me, "These are the true sayings of God."

Καὶ λέγει μοι· Γράψον· Μακάριοι οἱ εἰς τὸ δεῖπνον τοῦ γάμου τοῦ ἀρνίου κεκλημένοι. καὶ λέγει μοι· Οὗτοι οἱ λόγοι ἀληθινοὶ τοῦ θεοῦ εἰσιν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai epesa emprosthen ton podon aytoy proskynesai aytῷ. kai legei moi· Ὅra me· syndoulos soy eimi kai ton adelphon sou ton echonton ten martyrian Ἰesoy· tῷ theῷ proskyneson· he gar ⸀martyria Ἰesoy estin to pneyma tes propheteias.

Edified Edition (EDE)And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said to me, "See you do it not: I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

καὶ ἔπεσα ἔμπροσθεν τῶν ποδῶν αὐτοῦ προσκυνῆσαι αὐτῷ. καὶ λέγει μοι· Ὅρα μή· σύνδουλός σού εἰμι καὶ τῶν ἀδελφῶν σου τῶν ἐχόντων τὴν μαρτυρίαν Ἰησοῦ· τῷ θεῷ προσκύνησον· ἡ γὰρ ⸀μαρτυρία Ἰησοῦ ἐστιν τὸ πνεῦμα τῆς προφητείας.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai eidon ton oyranon eneῳgmenon, kai idoy hippos leukos, kai ho kathemenos epʼ ayton ⸂pistos kaloymenos⸃ kai alethinos, kai en dikaiosynῃ krinei kai polemei.

Edified Edition (EDE)And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He who sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He does judge and make war.

Καὶ εἶδον τὸν οὐρανὸν ἠνεῳγμένον, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἵππος λευκός, καὶ ὁ καθήμενος ἐπʼ αὐτὸν ⸂πιστὸς καλούμενος⸃ καὶ ἀληθινός, καὶ ἐν δικαιοσύνῃ κρίνει καὶ πολεμεῖ.

Phonetic (Greek): ohi de ophthalmoi ⸀aytoy phlox pyros, kai epi ten kephalen aytoy diademata polla, ⸀echon onoma gegrammenon ho oydeis oiden ei me aytos,

Edified Edition (EDE)His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no one knew, but He Himself.

οἱ δὲ ὀφθαλμοὶ ⸀αὐτοῦ φλὸξ πυρός, καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ διαδήματα πολλά, ⸀ἔχων ὄνομα γεγραμμένον ὃ οὐδεὶς οἶδεν εἰ μὴ αὐτός,

Phonetic (Greek): kai peribeblemenos himation ⸀bebammenon ahimati, kai ⸀kekletai to onoma aytoy ho Logos toy Theoy.

Edified Edition (EDE)And He was clothed with a garment dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God.

καὶ περιβεβλημένος ἱμάτιον ⸀βεβαμμένον αἵματι, καὶ ⸀κέκληται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ ὁ Λόγος τοῦ Θεοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ta strateymata ⸀ta en tῷ oyranῷ ekoloythei aytῷ ephʼ hippois leukois, endedymenoi byssinon leukon katharon.

Edified Edition (EDE)And the armies which were in heaven followed Him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

καὶ τὰ στρατεύματα ⸀τὰ ἐν τῷ οὐρανῷ ἠκολούθει αὐτῷ ἐφʼ ἵπποις λευκοῖς, ἐνδεδυμένοι βύσσινον λευκὸν καθαρόν.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ek toy stomatos aytoy ekporeyetai ⸀ῥomphaia oxeia, hina en aytῇ pataxῃ ta ethne, kai aytos poimanei aytoys en ῥabdῳ siderᾷ· kai aytos patei ten lenon toy oinou toy thymoy tes orges toy theoy toy pantokratoros.

Edified Edition (EDE)And out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

καὶ ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ ἐκπορεύεται ⸀ῥομφαία ὀξεῖα, ἵνα ἐν αὐτῇ πατάξῃ τὰ ἔθνη, καὶ αὐτὸς ποιμανεῖ αὐτοὺς ἐν ῥάβδῳ σιδηρᾷ· καὶ αὐτὸς πατεῖ τὴν ληνὸν τοῦ οἴνου τοῦ θυμοῦ τῆς ὀργῆς τοῦ θεοῦ τοῦ παντοκράτορος.

Phonetic (Greek): kai echei epi to himation kai epi ton meron aytoy onoma gegrammenon· Basileys basileon kai kyrios kyrion.

Edified Edition (EDE)And He has on His garment and on His thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

καὶ ἔχει ἐπὶ τὸ ἱμάτιον καὶ ἐπὶ τὸν μηρὸν αὐτοῦ ὄνομα γεγραμμένον· Βασιλεὺς βασιλέων καὶ κύριος κυρίων.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai eidon ⸀hena angelon hestota en tῷ heliῳ, kai ⸀ekraxen phonῇ megalῃ legon pasi tois orneois tois petomenois en mesouranemati· Deyte synachthete eis to deipnon to mega toy theoy,

Edified Edition (EDE)And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, "Come and gather yourselves together to the supper of the great God;"

Καὶ εἶδον ⸀ἕνα ἄγγελον ἑστῶτα ἐν τῷ ἡλίῳ, καὶ ⸀ἔκραξεν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγων πᾶσι τοῖς ὀρνέοις τοῖς πετομένοις ἐν μεσουρανήματι· Δεῦτε συνάχθητε εἰς τὸ δεῖπνον τὸ μέγα τοῦ θεοῦ,

Phonetic (Greek): hina phagete sarkas basileon kai sarkas chiliarchon kai sarkas ischyron kai sarkas hippon kai ton kathemenon epʼ ⸀ayton, kai sarkas panton eleutheron te kai doylon kai mikron ⸀kai megalon.

Edified Edition (EDE)"That you may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty people, and the flesh of horses, and of those who sit on them, and the flesh of all people, both free and bond, both small and great."

ἵνα φάγητε σάρκας βασιλέων καὶ σάρκας χιλιάρχων καὶ σάρκας ἰσχυρῶν καὶ σάρκας ἵππων καὶ τῶν καθημένων ἐπʼ ⸀αὐτῶν, καὶ σάρκας πάντων ἐλευθέρων τε καὶ δούλων καὶ μικρῶν ⸀καὶ μεγάλων.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eidon to therion kai toys basileis tes ges kai ta strateymata ayton synegmena poiesai ⸀ton polemon meta toy kathemenou epi toy hippou kai meta toy strateymatos aytoy.

Edified Edition (EDE)And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against Him who sat on the horse, and against His army.

καὶ εἶδον τὸ θηρίον καὶ τοὺς βασιλεῖς τῆς γῆς καὶ τὰ στρατεύματα αὐτῶν συνηγμένα ποιῆσαι ⸀τὸν πόλεμον μετὰ τοῦ καθημένου ἐπὶ τοῦ ἵππου καὶ μετὰ τοῦ στρατεύματος αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai epiasthe to therion kai ⸂metʼ aytoy ho⸃ pseudoprophetes ho poiesas ta semeia enopion aytoy, en ohis eplanesen toys labontas to charagma toy theriou kai toys proskynoyntas tῇ eikoni aytoy· zontes eblethesan ohi dyo eis ten limnen toy pyros ⸂tes kaiomenes⸃ en theiῳ.

Edified Edition (EDE)And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet who worked miracles before him, with which he deceived those who had received the mark of the beast, and those who worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.

καὶ ἐπιάσθη τὸ θηρίον καὶ ⸂μετʼ αὐτοῦ ὁ⸃ ψευδοπροφήτης ὁ ποιήσας τὰ σημεῖα ἐνώπιον αὐτοῦ, ἐν οἷς ἐπλάνησεν τοὺς λαβόντας τὸ χάραγμα τοῦ θηρίου καὶ τοὺς προσκυνοῦντας τῇ εἰκόνι αὐτοῦ· ζῶντες ἐβλήθησαν οἱ δύο εἰς τὴν λίμνην τοῦ πυρὸς ⸂τῆς καιομένης⸃ ἐν θείῳ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai ohi loipoi apektanthesan en tῇ ῥomphaiᾳ toy kathemenou epi toy hippou tῇ exelthoysῃ ek toy stomatos aytoy, kai panta ta ornea echortasthesan ek ton sarkon ayton.

Edified Edition (EDE)And the remnant were slain with the sword of Him who sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of His mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

καὶ οἱ λοιποὶ ἀπεκτάνθησαν ἐν τῇ ῥομφαίᾳ τοῦ καθημένου ἐπὶ τοῦ ἵππου τῇ ἐξελθούσῃ ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτοῦ, καὶ πάντα τὰ ὄρνεα ἐχορτάσθησαν ἐκ τῶν σαρκῶν αὐτῶν.
