Chapter 7
1
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀Meta toyto eidon tessaras angelous hestotas epi tas tessaras gonias tes ges, kratoyntas toys tessaras anemous tes ges, hina me pneῃ anemos epi tes ges mete epi tes thalasses mete epi ⸀pan dendron.
Edified Edition (EDE)And after these things I saw four angels standing on the four corners of the earth, holding the four winds of the earth, that the wind should not blow on the earth, nor on the sea, nor on any tree.

⸀Μετὰ τοῦτο εἶδον τέσσαρας ἀγγέλους ἑστῶτας ἐπὶ τὰς τέσσαρας γωνίας τῆς γῆς, κρατοῦντας τοὺς τέσσαρας ἀνέμους τῆς γῆς, ἵνα μὴ πνέῃ ἄνεμος ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς μήτε ἐπὶ τῆς θαλάσσης μήτε ἐπὶ ⸀πᾶν δένδρον.

Phonetic (Greek): kai eidon allon angelon anabainonta apo anatoles heliou, echonta sphragida theoy zontos, kai ekraxen phonῇ megalῃ tois tessarsin angelois ohis edothe aytois adikesai ten gen kai ten thalassan,
Edified Edition (EDE)And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea,

καὶ εἶδον ἄλλον ἄγγελον ἀναβαίνοντα ἀπὸ ἀνατολῆς ἡλίου, ἔχοντα σφραγῖδα θεοῦ ζῶντος, καὶ ἔκραξεν φωνῇ μεγάλῃ τοῖς τέσσαρσιν ἀγγέλοις οἷς ἐδόθη αὐτοῖς ἀδικῆσαι τὴν γῆν καὶ τὴν θάλασσαν,

Phonetic (Greek): legon· Me adikesete ten gen mete ten thalassan mete ta dendra, ⸀achri sphragisomen toys doylous toy theoy hemon epi ton metopon ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)Saying, "Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads."

λέγων· Μὴ ἀδικήσητε τὴν γῆν μήτε τὴν θάλασσαν μήτε τὰ δένδρα, ⸀ἄχρι σφραγίσωμεν τοὺς δούλους τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἐπὶ τῶν μετώπων αὐτῶν.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai ekousa ton arithmon ton esphragismenon, ⸀hekaton tesserakonta tessares chiliades, ⸀esphragismenoi ek pases phyles yhion Ἰsrael·
Edified Edition (EDE)And I heard the number of those who were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

Καὶ ἤκουσα τὸν ἀριθμὸν τῶν ἐσφραγισμένων, ⸀ἑκατὸν τεσσεράκοντα τέσσαρες χιλιάδες, ⸀ἐσφραγισμένοι ἐκ πάσης φυλῆς υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ·

Phonetic (Greek): ek phyles Ἰoyda dodeka chiliades ⸀esphragismenoi, ek phyles Ῥouben dodeka chiliades, ek phyles Gad dodeka chiliades,
Edified Edition (EDE)Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.

ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰούδα δώδεκα χιλιάδες ⸀ἐσφραγισμένοι, ἐκ φυλῆς Ῥουβὴν δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Γὰδ δώδεκα χιλιάδες,

Phonetic (Greek): ek phyles Ἀser dodeka chiliades, ek phyles Nephthalim dodeka chiliades, ek phyles Manasse dodeka chiliades,
Edified Edition (EDE)Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.

ἐκ φυλῆς Ἀσὴρ δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Νεφθαλὶμ δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Μανασσῆ δώδεκα χιλιάδες,

Phonetic (Greek): ek phyles Symeon dodeka chiliades, ek phyles Leui dodeka chiliades, ek phyles Ἰssachar dodeka chiliades,
Edified Edition (EDE)Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.

ἐκ φυλῆς Συμεὼν δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Λευὶ δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰσσαχὰρ δώδεκα χιλιάδες,

Phonetic (Greek): ek phyles Zaboulon dodeka chiliades, ek phyles Ἰoseph dodeka chiliades, ek phyles Beniamin dodeka chiliades ⸀esphragismenoi.
Edified Edition (EDE)Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.

ἐκ φυλῆς Ζαβουλὼν δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Ἰωσὴφ δώδεκα χιλιάδες, ἐκ φυλῆς Βενιαμὶν δώδεκα χιλιάδες ⸀ἐσφραγισμένοι.

Phonetic (Greek): Meta tayta eidon, kai idoy ochlos polys, hon arithmesai ⸀ayton oydeis edynato, ek pantos ethnous kai phylon kai laon kai glosson, ⸀hestotes enopion toy thronou kai enopion toy arniou, peribeblemenous stolas leukas, kai ⸀phoinikes en tais chersin ayton·
Edified Edition (EDE)After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no one could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

Μετὰ ταῦτα εἶδον, καὶ ἰδοὺ ὄχλος πολύς, ὃν ἀριθμῆσαι ⸀αὐτὸν οὐδεὶς ἐδύνατο, ἐκ παντὸς ἔθνους καὶ φυλῶν καὶ λαῶν καὶ γλωσσῶν, ⸀ἑστῶτες ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου καὶ ἐνώπιον τοῦ ἀρνίου, περιβεβλημένους στολὰς λευκάς, καὶ ⸀φοίνικες ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν αὐτῶν·

Phonetic (Greek): kai krazousi phonῇ megalῃ legontes· Ἡ soteria tῷ theῷ hemon tῷ kathemenῳ epi tῷ thronῳ kai tῷ arniῳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)And cried with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation to our God who sits upon the throne, and to the Lamb."

καὶ κράζουσι φωνῇ μεγάλῃ λέγοντες· Ἡ σωτηρία τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν τῷ καθημένῳ ἐπὶ τῷ θρόνῳ καὶ τῷ ἀρνίῳ.

Phonetic (Greek): kai pantes ohi angeloi ehistekeisan kyklῳ toy thronou kai ton presbyteron kai ton tessaron zῴon, kai epesan enopion toy thronou epi ta prosopa ayton kai prosekynesan tῷ theῷ,
Edified Edition (EDE)And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God,

καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄγγελοι εἱστήκεισαν κύκλῳ τοῦ θρόνου καὶ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων καὶ τῶν τεσσάρων ζῴων, καὶ ἔπεσαν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου ἐπὶ τὰ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν καὶ προσεκύνησαν τῷ θεῷ,

Phonetic (Greek): legontes· Ἀmen· he eylogia kai he doxa kai he sophia kai he eycharistia kai he time kai he dynamis kai he ischys tῷ theῷ hemon eis toys aionas ton aionon· amen.
Edified Edition (EDE)Saying, "Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen."

λέγοντες· Ἀμήν· ἡ εὐλογία καὶ ἡ δόξα καὶ ἡ σοφία καὶ ἡ εὐχαριστία καὶ ἡ τιμὴ καὶ ἡ δύναμις καὶ ἡ ἰσχὺς τῷ θεῷ ἡμῶν εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας τῶν αἰώνων· ἀμήν.

Phonetic (Greek): Kai apekrithe ehis ek ton presbyteron legon moi· Ohytoi ohi peribeblemenoi tas stolas tas leukas tines eisin kai pothen elthon;
Edified Edition (EDE)And one of the elders answered, saying to me, "What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and where did they come from?"

Καὶ ἀπεκρίθη εἷς ἐκ τῶν πρεσβυτέρων λέγων μοι· Οὗτοι οἱ περιβεβλημένοι τὰς στολὰς τὰς λευκὰς τίνες εἰσὶν καὶ πόθεν ἦλθον;

Phonetic (Greek): kai ⸀eireka aytῷ· Kyrie mou, sy oidas. kai eipen moi· Ohytoi eisin ohi erchomenoi ek tes thlipseos tes megales, kai eplynan tas stolas ayton kai eleykanan ⸀aytas en tῷ ahimati toy arniou.
Edified Edition (EDE)And I said to him, "Sir, you know." And he said to me, "These are those who came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

καὶ ⸀εἴρηκα αὐτῷ· Κύριέ μου, σὺ οἶδας. καὶ εἶπέν μοι· Οὗτοί εἰσιν οἱ ἐρχόμενοι ἐκ τῆς θλίψεως τῆς μεγάλης, καὶ ἔπλυναν τὰς στολὰς αὐτῶν καὶ ἐλεύκαναν ⸀αὐτὰς ἐν τῷ αἵματι τοῦ ἀρνίου.

Phonetic (Greek): dia toyto eisin enopion toy thronou toy theoy, kai latreyousin aytῷ hemeras kai nyktos en tῷ naῷ aytoy, kai ho kathemenos epi ⸂toy thronou⸃ skenosei epʼ aytoys.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He who sits on the throne shall dwell among them.

διὰ τοῦτό εἰσιν ἐνώπιον τοῦ θρόνου τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ λατρεύουσιν αὐτῷ ἡμέρας καὶ νυκτὸς ἐν τῷ ναῷ αὐτοῦ, καὶ ὁ καθήμενος ἐπὶ ⸂τοῦ θρόνου⸃ σκηνώσει ἐπʼ αὐτούς.

Phonetic (Greek): oy peinasousin eti ⸀oyde dipsesousin eti, oyde me pesῃ epʼ aytoys ho helios oyde pan kayma,
Edified Edition (EDE)They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

οὐ πεινάσουσιν ἔτι ⸀οὐδὲ διψήσουσιν ἔτι, οὐδὲ μὴ πέσῃ ἐπʼ αὐτοὺς ὁ ἥλιος οὐδὲ πᾶν καῦμα,

Phonetic (Greek): hoti to arnion to ana meson toy thronou ⸀poimanei aytoys, kai ⸀hodegesei aytoys epi zoes pegas hydaton· kai exaleipsei ho theos pan dakryon ek ton ophthalmon ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them to living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

ὅτι τὸ ἀρνίον τὸ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ θρόνου ⸀ποιμανεῖ αὐτούς, καὶ ⸀ὁδηγήσει αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ ζωῆς πηγὰς ὑδάτων· καὶ ἐξαλείψει ὁ θεὸς πᾶν δάκρυον ἐκ τῶν ὀφθαλμῶν αὐτῶν.
