Chapter 11
1
Phonetic (Greek): Lego oyn, me aposato ho theos ton laon aytoy; me genoito· kai gar ego Ἰsraelites eimi, ek spermatos Ἀbraam, phyles Beniamin.
Edified Edition (EDE)I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.

2
Phonetic (Greek): oyk aposato ho theos ton laon aytoy hon proegno. e oyk oidate en Ἠliᾳ ti legei he graphe, hos entynchanei tῷ theῷ kata toy ⸀Ἰsrael;
Edified Edition (EDE)God has not cast away His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says of Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel, saying,

οὐκ ἀπώσατο ὁ θεὸς τὸν λαὸν αὐτοῦ ὃν προέγνω. ἢ οὐκ οἴδατε ἐν Ἠλίᾳ τί λέγει ἡ γραφή, ὡς ἐντυγχάνει τῷ θεῷ κατὰ τοῦ ⸀Ἰσραήλ;

3
Phonetic (Greek): Kyrie, toys prophetas sou apekteinan, ⸀ta thysiasteria sou kateskapsan, kago hypeleiphthen monos, kai zetoysin ten psychen mou.
Edified Edition (EDE)"Lord, they have killed Your prophets and torn down Your altars, and I alone am left, and they seek my life"?

4
Phonetic (Greek): alla ti legei aytῷ ho chrematismos; Katelipon emautῷ heptakischilious andras, ohitines oyk ekampsan gony tῇ Baal.
Edified Edition (EDE)But what does the divine response say to him? "I have reserved for Myself seven thousand men who have not bowed the knee to Baal."

5
Phonetic (Greek): ohytos oyn kai en tῷ nyn kairῷ leimma katʼ eklogen charitos gegonen·
Edified Edition (EDE)Even so then, at this present time there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

6
Phonetic (Greek): ei de chariti, oyketi ex ergon, epei he charis oyketi ginetai ⸀charis.
Edified Edition (EDE)And if by grace, then it is no longer of works; otherwise grace is no longer grace. But if it is of works, it is no longer grace; otherwise work is no longer work.

7
Phonetic (Greek): ti oyn; ho epizetei Ἰsrael, toyto oyk epetychen, he de ekloge epetychen· ohi de loipoi eporothesan,
Edified Edition (EDE)What then? Israel has not obtained what it seeks; but the elect have obtained it, and the rest were blinded.

8
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀kathos gegraptai· Ἔdoken aytois ho theos pneyma katanyxeos, ophthalmoys toy me blepein kai ota toy me akoyein, heos tes semeron hemeras.
Edified Edition (EDE)Just as it is written: "God has given them a spirit of stupor, Eyes that they should not see And ears that they should not hear, To this very day."

9
Phonetic (Greek): kai Dauid legei· Genetheto he trapeza ayton eis pagida kai eis theran kai eis skandalon kai eis antapodoma aytois,
Edified Edition (EDE)And David says: "Let their table become a snare and a trap, A stumbling block and a recompense to them.

10
Phonetic (Greek): skotisthetosan ohi ophthalmoi ayton toy me blepein, kai ton noton ayton dia pantos synkampson.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let their eyes be darkened, so that they do not see, And always bow down their backs."

11
Phonetic (Greek): Lego oyn, me eptaisan hina pesosin; me genoito· alla tῷ ayton paraptomati he soteria tois ethnesin, eis to parazelosai aytoys.
Edified Edition (EDE)I say then, have they stumbled that they should fall? Certainly not! But through their fall, to provoke them to jealousy, salvation has come to the Gentiles.

12
Phonetic (Greek): ei de to paraptoma ayton ploytos kosmou kai to hettema ayton ploytos ethnon, posῳ mallon to pleroma ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)Now if their fall is riches for the world, and their failure riches for the Gentiles, how much more their fullness!

13
Phonetic (Greek): Ὑmin ⸀de lego tois ethnesin. ephʼ hoson men ⸀oyn eimi ego ethnon apostolos, ten diakonian mou doxazo,
Edified Edition (EDE)For I speak to you Gentiles; inasfar as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,

14
Phonetic (Greek): ei pos parazeloso mou ten sarka kai soso tinas ex ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)if by any means I may provoke to jealousy those who are my flesh and save some of them.

15
Phonetic (Greek): ei gar he apobole ayton katallage kosmou, tis he proslempsis ei me zoe ek nekron;
Edified Edition (EDE)For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?

εἰ γὰρ ἡ ἀποβολὴ αὐτῶν καταλλαγὴ κόσμου, τίς ἡ πρόσλημψις εἰ μὴ ζωὴ ἐκ νεκρῶν;

16
Phonetic (Greek): ei de he aparche hagia, kai to phyrama· kai ei he ῥiza hagia, kai ohi kladoi.
Edified Edition (EDE)For if the firstfruit is holy, the lump is also holy; and if the root is holy, so are the branches.

17
Phonetic (Greek): Ei de tines ton kladon exeklasthesan, sy de agrielaios on enekentristhes en aytois kai synkoinonos tes ⸀ῥizes tes piotetos tes elaias egenou,
Edified Edition (EDE)And if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive tree, were grafted in among them, and with them became a partaker of the root and fatness of the olive tree,

18
Phonetic (Greek): me katakaucho ton kladon· ei de katakauchasai, oy sy ten ῥizan bastazeis alla he ῥiza se.
Edified Edition (EDE)do not boast against the branches. But if you do boast, remember that you do not support the root, but the root supports you.

19
Phonetic (Greek): ereis oyn· Ἐxeklasthesan kladoi hina ego enkentristho.
Edified Edition (EDE)You will say then, "Branches were broken off that I might be grafted in."

20
Phonetic (Greek): kalos· tῇ apistiᾳ exeklasthesan, sy de tῇ pistei hestekas. me ⸂hypsela phronei⸃, alla phoboy·
Edified Edition (EDE)Well said. Because of unbelief they were broken off, and you stand by faith. Do not be haughty, but fear.

21
Phonetic (Greek): ei gar ho theos ton kata physin kladon oyk epheisato, ⸀oyde soy pheisetai.
Edified Edition (EDE)For if God did not spare the natural branches, He may not spare you either.

22
Phonetic (Greek): ide oyn chrestoteta kai apotomian theoy· epi men toys pesontas ⸀apotomia, epi de se ⸂chrestotes theoy⸃, ean ⸀epimenῃs tῇ chrestoteti, epei kai sy ekkopesῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off.

23
Phonetic (Greek): kakeinoi de, ean me ⸀epimenosi tῇ apistiᾳ, enkentristhesontai· dynatos gar ⸂estin ho theos⸃ palin enkentrisai aytoys.
Edified Edition (EDE)And they also, if they do not continue in unbelief, will be grafted in, for God is able to graft them in again.

24
Phonetic (Greek): ei gar sy ek tes kata physin exekopes agrielaiou kai para physin enekentristhes eis kallielaion, posῳ mallon ohytoi ohi kata physin enkentristhesontai tῇ idiᾳ elaiᾳ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For if you were cut out of the olive tree which is wild by nature, and were grafted contrary to nature into a cultivated olive tree, how much more will these, who are natural branches, be grafted into their own olive tree?

25
Phonetic (Greek): Oy gar thelo hymas agnoein, adelphoi, to mysterion toyto, hina me ⸀ete heautois phronimoi, hoti porosis apo merous tῷ Ἰsrael gegonen achri ohy to pleroma ton ethnon eiselthῃ,
Edified Edition (EDE)For I do not desire, brothers, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.

26
Phonetic (Greek): kai ohytos pas Ἰsrael sothesetai· kathos gegraptai· Ἥxei ek Sion ho ⸀ῥyomenos, apostrepsei asebeias apo Ἰakob.
Edified Edition (EDE)And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob;

27
Phonetic (Greek): kai ahyte aytois he parʼ emoy diatheke, hotan aphelomai tas hamartias ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins."

28
Phonetic (Greek): kata men to eyangelion echthroi diʼ hymas, kata de ten eklogen agapetoi dia toys pateras·
Edified Edition (EDE)Concerning the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but concerning the election they are beloved for the sake of the fathers.

29
Phonetic (Greek): ametameleta gar ta charismata kai he klesis toy theoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

30
Phonetic (Greek): hosper ⸀gar hymeis pote epeithesate tῷ theῷ, nyn de eleethete tῇ toyton apeitheiᾳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)For as you were once disobedient to God, yet have now obtained mercy through their disobedience,

31
Phonetic (Greek): ohytos kai ohytoi nyn epeithesan tῷ hymeterῳ eleei hina kai aytoi ⸀nyn eleethosin·
Edified Edition (EDE)even so these also have now been disobedient, that through the mercy shown you they also may obtain mercy.

32
Phonetic (Greek): synekleisen gar ho theos toys pantas eis apeitheian hina toys pantas eleesῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For God has committed them all to disobedience, that He might have mercy on all.

33
Phonetic (Greek): Ὦ bathos ploytou kai sophias kai gnoseos theoy· hos anexerayneta ta krimata aytoy kai anexichniastoi ahi hodoi aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgements and His ways past finding out!

34
Phonetic (Greek): Tis gar egno noyn kyriou; e tis symboulos aytoy egeneto;
Edified Edition (EDE)"For who has known the mind of the LORD? Or who has become His counsellor?"

Τίς γὰρ ἔγνω νοῦν κυρίου; ἢ τίς σύμβουλος αὐτοῦ ἐγένετο;

35
Phonetic (Greek): e tis proedoken aytῷ, kai antapodothesetai aytῷ;
Edified Edition (EDE)"Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?"

ἢ τίς προέδωκεν αὐτῷ, καὶ ἀνταποδοθήσεται αὐτῷ;

36
Phonetic (Greek): hoti ex aytoy kai diʼ aytoy kai eis ayton ta panta· aytῷ he doxa eis toys aionas, amen.
Edified Edition (EDE)For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
