Chapter 12
1
Phonetic (Greek): Parakalo oyn hymas, adelphoi, dia ton oiktirmon toy theoy parastesai ta somata hymon thysian zosan hagian ⸂eyareston tῷ theῷ⸃, ten logiken latreian hymon·
Edified Edition (EDE)I beseech you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.

Παρακαλῶ οὖν ὑμᾶς, ἀδελφοί, διὰ τῶν οἰκτιρμῶν τοῦ θεοῦ παραστῆσαι τὰ σώματα ὑμῶν θυσίαν ζῶσαν ἁγίαν ⸂εὐάρεστον τῷ θεῷ⸃, τὴν λογικὴν λατρείαν ὑμῶν·

Phonetic (Greek): kai me ⸀syschematizesthe tῷ aioni toytῳ, alla ⸀metamorphoysthe tῇ anakainosei toy ⸀noos, eis to dokimazein hymas ti to thelema toy theoy, to agathon kai eyareston kai teleion.
Edified Edition (EDE)And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

καὶ μὴ ⸀συσχηματίζεσθε τῷ αἰῶνι τούτῳ, ἀλλὰ ⸀μεταμορφοῦσθε τῇ ἀνακαινώσει τοῦ ⸀νοός, εἰς τὸ δοκιμάζειν ὑμᾶς τί τὸ θέλημα τοῦ θεοῦ, τὸ ἀγαθὸν καὶ εὐάρεστον καὶ τέλειον.

Phonetic (Greek): Lego gar dia tes charitos tes dotheises moi panti tῷ onti en hymin me hyperphronein parʼ ho dei phronein, alla phronein eis to sophronein, hekastῳ hos ho theos emerisen metron pisteos.
Edified Edition (EDE)For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

Λέγω γὰρ διὰ τῆς χάριτος τῆς δοθείσης μοι παντὶ τῷ ὄντι ἐν ὑμῖν μὴ ὑπερφρονεῖν παρʼ ὃ δεῖ φρονεῖν, ἀλλὰ φρονεῖν εἰς τὸ σωφρονεῖν, ἑκάστῳ ὡς ὁ θεὸς ἐμέρισεν μέτρον πίστεως.

Phonetic (Greek): kathaper gar en heni somati ⸂polla mele⸃ echomen, ta de mele panta oy ten ayten echei praxin,
Edified Edition (EDE)For as we have many members in one body, but all the members do not have the same function,

καθάπερ γὰρ ἐν ἑνὶ σώματι ⸂πολλὰ μέλη⸃ ἔχομεν, τὰ δὲ μέλη πάντα οὐ τὴν αὐτὴν ἔχει πρᾶξιν,

Phonetic (Greek): ohytos ohi polloi hen soma esmen en Christῷ, ⸀to de kathʼ ehis allelon mele.
Edified Edition (EDE)so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.

οὕτως οἱ πολλοὶ ἓν σῶμά ἐσμεν ἐν Χριστῷ, ⸀τὸ δὲ καθʼ εἷς ἀλλήλων μέλη.

Phonetic (Greek): echontes de charismata kata ten charin ten dotheisan hemin diaphora, eite propheteian kata ten analogian tes pisteos,
Edified Edition (EDE)Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith;

ἔχοντες δὲ χαρίσματα κατὰ τὴν χάριν τὴν δοθεῖσαν ἡμῖν διάφορα, εἴτε προφητείαν κατὰ τὴν ἀναλογίαν τῆς πίστεως,

Phonetic (Greek): eite diakonian en tῇ diakoniᾳ, eite ho didaskon en tῇ didaskaliᾳ,
Edified Edition (EDE)or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching;

εἴτε διακονίαν ἐν τῇ διακονίᾳ, εἴτε ὁ διδάσκων ἐν τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ,

Phonetic (Greek): eite ho parakalon en tῇ paraklesei, ho metadidoys en haploteti, ho proistamenos en spoudῇ, ho eleon en hilaroteti.
Edified Edition (EDE)he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.

εἴτε ὁ παρακαλῶν ἐν τῇ παρακλήσει, ὁ μεταδιδοὺς ἐν ἁπλότητι, ὁ προϊστάμενος ἐν σπουδῇ, ὁ ἐλεῶν ἐν ἱλαρότητι.

Phonetic (Greek): Ἡ agape anypokritos. apostygoyntes to poneron, kollomenoi tῷ agathῷ·
Edified Edition (EDE)Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good.

Ἡ ἀγάπη ἀνυπόκριτος. ἀποστυγοῦντες τὸ πονηρόν, κολλώμενοι τῷ ἀγαθῷ·

Phonetic (Greek): tῇ philadelphiᾳ eis allelous philostorgoi, tῇ timῇ allelous proegoymenoi,
Edified Edition (EDE)Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honour giving preference to one another;

τῇ φιλαδελφίᾳ εἰς ἀλλήλους φιλόστοργοι, τῇ τιμῇ ἀλλήλους προηγούμενοι,

Phonetic (Greek): tῇ spoudῇ me okneroi, tῷ pneymati zeontes, tῷ kyriῳ douleyontes,
Edified Edition (EDE)not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;

τῇ σπουδῇ μὴ ὀκνηροί, τῷ πνεύματι ζέοντες, τῷ κυρίῳ δουλεύοντες,

Phonetic (Greek): tῇ elpidi chairontes, tῇ thlipsei hypomenontes, tῇ proseuchῇ proskarteroyntes,
Edified Edition (EDE)rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;

τῇ ἐλπίδι χαίροντες, τῇ θλίψει ὑπομένοντες, τῇ προσευχῇ προσκαρτεροῦντες,

Phonetic (Greek): tais chreiais ton hagion koinonoyntes, ten philoxenian diokontes.
Edified Edition (EDE)distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.

ταῖς χρείαις τῶν ἁγίων κοινωνοῦντες, τὴν φιλοξενίαν διώκοντες.

Phonetic (Greek): eylogeite toys ⸀diokontas, eylogeite kai me katarasthe.
Edified Edition (EDE)Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.

εὐλογεῖτε τοὺς ⸀διώκοντας, εὐλογεῖτε καὶ μὴ καταρᾶσθε.

Phonetic (Greek): chairein meta ⸀chaironton, klaiein meta klaionton.
Edified Edition (EDE)Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.

χαίρειν μετὰ ⸀χαιρόντων, κλαίειν μετὰ κλαιόντων.

Phonetic (Greek): to ayto eis allelous phronoyntes, me ta hypsela phronoyntes alla tois tapeinois synapagomenoi. me ginesthe phronimoi parʼ heautois.
Edified Edition (EDE)Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.

τὸ αὐτὸ εἰς ἀλλήλους φρονοῦντες, μὴ τὰ ὑψηλὰ φρονοῦντες ἀλλὰ τοῖς ταπεινοῖς συναπαγόμενοι. μὴ γίνεσθε φρόνιμοι παρʼ ἑαυτοῖς.

Phonetic (Greek): medeni kakon anti kakoy apodidontes· pronooymenoi kala enopion panton anthropon·
Edified Edition (EDE)Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.

μηδενὶ κακὸν ἀντὶ κακοῦ ἀποδιδόντες· προνοούμενοι καλὰ ἐνώπιον πάντων ἀνθρώπων·

Phonetic (Greek): ei dynaton, to ex hymon meta panton anthropon eireneyontes·
Edified Edition (EDE)If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.

εἰ δυνατόν, τὸ ἐξ ὑμῶν μετὰ πάντων ἀνθρώπων εἰρηνεύοντες·

Phonetic (Greek): me heautoys ekdikoyntes, agapetoi, alla dote topon tῇ orgῇ, gegraptai gar· Ἐmoi ekdikesis, ego antapodoso, legei kyrios.
Edified Edition (EDE)Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, "Vengeance is Mine, I will repay," says the Lord.

μὴ ἑαυτοὺς ἐκδικοῦντες, ἀγαπητοί, ἀλλὰ δότε τόπον τῇ ὀργῇ, γέγραπται γάρ· Ἐμοὶ ἐκδίκησις, ἐγὼ ἀνταποδώσω, λέγει κύριος.

Phonetic (Greek): ⸂alla ean⸃ peinᾷ ho echthros sou, psomize ayton· ean dipsᾷ, potize ayton· toyto gar poion anthrakas pyros soreyseis epi ten kephalen aytoy.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head."

⸂ἀλλὰ ἐὰν⸃ πεινᾷ ὁ ἐχθρός σου, ψώμιζε αὐτόν· ἐὰν διψᾷ, πότιζε αὐτόν· τοῦτο γὰρ ποιῶν ἄνθρακας πυρὸς σωρεύσεις ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλὴν αὐτοῦ.

Phonetic (Greek): me niko hypo toy kakoy, alla nika en tῷ agathῷ to kakon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

μὴ νικῶ ὑπὸ τοῦ κακοῦ, ἀλλὰ νίκα ἐν τῷ ἀγαθῷ τὸ κακόν.
