Chapter 14
1
Phonetic (Greek): Ton de asthenoynta tῇ pistei proslambanesthe, me eis diakriseis dialogismon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Receive one who is weak in the faith, but not to disputes over doubtful things.

2
Phonetic (Greek): hos men pisteyei phagein panta, ho de asthenon lachana esthiei.
Edified Edition (EDE)For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats only vegetables.

3
Phonetic (Greek): ho esthion ton me esthionta me exoutheneito, ⸂ho de⸃ me esthion ton esthionta me krineto, ho theos gar ayton proselabeto.
Edified Edition (EDE)Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him.

4
Phonetic (Greek): sy tis ei ho krinon allotrion oiketen; tῷ idiῳ kyriῳ stekei e piptei· stathesetai de, ⸂dynatei gar⸃ ho ⸀kyrios stesai ayton.
Edified Edition (EDE)Who are you to judge another’s servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand.

5
Phonetic (Greek): Ὃs ⸀men krinei hemeran parʼ hemeran, hos de krinei pasan hemeran· hekastos en tῷ idiῳ noῒ plerophoreistho·
Edified Edition (EDE)One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind.

6
Phonetic (Greek): ho phronon ten hemeran kyriῳ ⸀phronei. kai ho esthion kyriῳ esthiei, eycharistei gar tῷ theῷ· kai ho me esthion kyriῳ oyk esthiei, kai eycharistei tῷ theῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.

7
Phonetic (Greek): Oydeis gar hemon heautῷ zῇ, kai oydeis heautῷ apothnῄskei·
Edified Edition (EDE)For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

8
Phonetic (Greek): ean te gar zomen, tῷ kyriῳ zomen, ean te apothnῄskomen, tῷ kyriῳ apothnῄskomen. ean te oyn zomen ean te apothnῄskomen, toy kyriou esmen.
Edified Edition (EDE)For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s.

9
Phonetic (Greek): eis toyto gar ⸀Christos ⸀apethanen kai ezesen hina kai nekron kai zonton kyrieysῃ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

10
Phonetic (Greek): Sy de ti krineis ton adelphon sou; e kai sy ti exoutheneis ton adelphon sou; pantes gar parastesometha tῷ bemati toy ⸀theoy,
Edified Edition (EDE)But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgement seat of Christ.

11
Phonetic (Greek): gegraptai gar· Zo ego, legei kyrios, hoti emoi kampsei pan gony, kai ⸂pasa glossa exomologesetai⸃ tῷ theῷ.
Edified Edition (EDE)For it is written: "As I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God."

12
Phonetic (Greek): ⸀ara hekastos hemon peri heautoy logon ⸀dosei.
Edified Edition (EDE)So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.

13
Phonetic (Greek): Meketi oyn allelous krinomen· alla toyto krinate mallon, to me tithenai proskomma tῷ adelphῷ e skandalon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in our brother’s way.

14
Phonetic (Greek): oida kai pepeismai en kyriῳ Ἰesoy hoti oyden koinon diʼ ⸀heautoy· ei me tῷ logizomenῳ ti koinon einai, ekeinῳ koinon.
Edified Edition (EDE)I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

15
Phonetic (Greek): ei ⸀gar dia broma ho adelphos sou lypeitai, oyketi kata agapen peripateis. me tῷ bromati sou ekeinon apollye hyper ohy Christos apethanen.
Edified Edition (EDE)Yet if your brother is grieved because of your food, you are no longer walking in love. Do not destroy with your food the one for whom Christ died.

16
Phonetic (Greek): me blasphemeistho oyn hymon to agathon.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore do not let your good be spoken of as evil;

17
Phonetic (Greek): oy gar estin he basileia toy theoy brosis kai posis, alla dikaiosyne kai eirene kai chara en pneymati hagiῳ·
Edified Edition (EDE)for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

18
Phonetic (Greek): ho gar en ⸀toytῳ douleyon tῷ Christῷ eyarestos tῷ theῷ kai dokimos tois anthropois.
Edified Edition (EDE)For he who serves Christ in these things is acceptable to God and approved by men.

19
Phonetic (Greek): ara oyn ta tes eirenes diokomen kai ta tes oikodomes tes eis allelous.
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.

20
Phonetic (Greek): me heneken bromatos katalye to ergon toy theoy. panta men kathara, alla kakon tῷ anthropῳ tῷ dia proskommatos esthionti.
Edified Edition (EDE)Do not destroy the work of God for the sake of food. All things indeed are pure, but it is evil for the man who eats with offence.

21
Phonetic (Greek): kalon to me phagein krea mede piein oinon mede en ho ho adelphos sou proskoptei ⸂e skandalizetai e asthenei⸃·
Edified Edition (EDE)It is good neither to eat meat nor drink wine nor do anything by which your brother stumbles or is offended or is made weak.

22
Phonetic (Greek): sy pistin ⸀hen echeis kata seauton eche enopion toy theoy. makarios ho me krinon heauton en ho dokimazei·
Edified Edition (EDE)Do you have faith? Have it to yourself before God. Happy is he who does not condemn himself in what he approves.

23
Phonetic (Greek): ho de diakrinomenos ean phagῃ katakekritai, hoti oyk ek pisteos· pan de ho oyk ek pisteos hamartia ⸀estin.
Edified Edition (EDE)But he who doubts is condemned if he eats, because he does not eat from faith; for whatever is not from faith is sin.
