Chapter 27

Phonetic (Hebrew): ubene֣y yishsera'e֣l ׀ leֽmisepּara֡m ra'shshe֣y ha'ab֣ot veshsare֣y haֽ'alapi֣ym ׀ vehamּe'֡ot veshshotereyhem֩ hameshshareti֨ym 'et-hamּe֜leke leko֣l ׀ dּeba֣r haֽmּacheleq֗ot habּa'a֤h vehayּotze't֙ cho֣deshsh bּecho֔deshsh leko֖l chadeshshe֣y hashshּana֑h haֽmּachalo֨qet֙ haֽ'acha֔t 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)And the children of Israel, according to their number, the heads of father’s houses, the captains of thousands and hundreds and their officers, served the king in every matter of the military divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year, each division having twenty-four thousand.

וּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל ׀ לְֽמִסְפָּרָ֡ם רָאשֵׁ֣י הָאָב֣וֹת וְשָׂרֵ֣י הָֽאֲלָפִ֣ים ׀ וְהַמֵּא֡וֹת וְשֹׁטְרֵיהֶם֩ הַמְשָׁרְתִ֨ים אֶת־הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ לְכֹ֣ל ׀ דְּבַ֣ר הַֽמַּחְלְק֗וֹת הַבָּאָ֤ה וְהַיֹּצֵאת֙ חֹ֣דֶשׁ בְּחֹ֔דֶשׁ לְכֹ֖ל חָדְשֵׁ֣י הַשָּׁנָ֑ה הַֽמַּחֲלֹ֨קֶת֙ הָֽאַחַ֔ת עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): a֞l hamּachalo֤qet hariֽ'shshonah֙ lacho֣deshsh hari'shsh֔on yaֽshshabe'a֖m bּen-zabedּiy'e֑l ve'al֙ maֽchaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Over the first division for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel, and in his division were twenty-four thousand;

עַ֞ל הַמַּחֲלֹ֤קֶת הָרִֽאשׁוֹנָה֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָרִאשׁ֔וֹן יָֽשָׁבְעָ֖ם בֶּן־זַבְדִּיאֵ֑ל וְעַל֙ מַֽחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): min-bּeney-pe֗retz haro֛'shsh lekal-shsare֥y hatzּeba'֖ot lacho֥deshsh hari'shshֽon׃

Edified Edition (EDE)he was of the children of Perez, and the chief of all the captains of the army for the first month.

מִן־בְּנֵי־פֶ֗רֶץ הָרֹ֛אשׁ לְכָל־שָׂרֵ֥י הַצְּבָא֖וֹת לַחֹ֥דֶשׁ הָרִאשֽׁוֹן׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'a֞l machalo֣qet ׀ hacho֣deshsh hashshּeni֗y dּoda֤y ha'achochiy֙ uma֣chaluqetּ֔o umiqel֖ot hanּagi֑yd ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Over the division of the second month was Dodai an Ahohite, and Mikloth was a leader in his division; in his division also were twenty-four thousand.

וְעַ֞ל מַחֲלֹ֣קֶת ׀ הַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשֵּׁנִ֗י דּוֹדַ֤י הָאֲחוֹחִי֙ וּמַ֣חֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ וּמִקְל֖וֹת הַנָּגִ֑יד וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): shsa֣r hatzּaba֤ hashshּeliyshshiy֙ lacho֣deshsh hashshּeliyshshi֔y bּenaya֧hu ben-yehoyada֛ hakּohe֖n ro֑'shsh ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃

Edified Edition (EDE)The third captain of the army for the third month was Benaiah, the son of Jehoiada the priest, who was chief; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

שַׂ֣ר הַצָּבָ֤א הַשְּׁלִישִׁי֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֔י בְּנָיָ֧הוּ בֶן־יְהוֹיָדָ֛ע הַכֹּהֵ֖ן רֹ֑אשׁ וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): h֧u benaya֛hu gּibּ֥or hashshּeloshshi֖ym ve'al-hashshּeloshshi֑ym uma֣chaluqetּ֔o 'amּiyzaba֖d bּenֽo׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)This was the Benaiah who was mighty among the thirty, and was over the thirty; in his division was Ammizabad his son.

ה֧וּא בְנָיָ֛הוּ גִּבּ֥וֹר הַשְּׁלֹשִׁ֖ים וְעַל־הַשְּׁלֹשִׁ֑ים וּמַ֣חֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עַמִּיזָבָ֖ד בְּנֽוֹ׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): haֽrebiy'i֞y lacho֣deshsh harebiy'i֗y 'ashsah-'el֙ 'achi֣y yo'a֔b uzebadeya֥h ben֖o 'achara֑yv ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The fourth captain for the fourth month was Asahel the brother of Joab, and Zebadiah his son after him; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

הָֽרְבִיעִ֞י לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָרְבִיעִ֗י עֲשָׂה־אֵל֙ אֲחִ֣י יוֹאָ֔ב וּזְבַדְיָ֥ה בְנ֖וֹ אַחֲרָ֑יו וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hachamiyshshiy֙ lacho֣deshsh hachamiyshshi֔y hashsּa֖r shshameh֣ut hayּizera֑ch ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The fifth captain for the fifth month was Shamhuth the Izrahite; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

הַחַמִישִׁי֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַחֲמִישִׁ֔י הַשַּׂ֖ר שַׁמְה֣וּת הַיִּזְרָ֑ח וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hashshּishshּiy֙ lacho֣deshsh hashshּishshּi֔y 'iyra֥ ben-'iqּe֖shsh hatּeqo'i֑y ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The sixth captain for the sixth month was Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

הַשִּׁשִּׁי֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשִּׁשִּׁ֔י עִירָ֥א בֶן־עִקֵּ֖שׁ הַתְּקוֹעִ֑י וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hashshּebiy'iy֙ lacho֣deshsh hashshּebiy'i֔y che֥letz hapּeloni֖y min-bּene֣y 'epera֑yim ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The seventh captain for the seventh month was Helez the Pelonite, of the children of Ephraim; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

הַשְּׁבִיעִי֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔י חֶ֥לֶץ הַפְּלוֹנִ֖י מִן־בְּנֵ֣י אֶפְרָ֑יִם וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hashshּemiyniy֙ lacho֣deshsh hashshּemiyni֔y sibּeka֥y hachushshati֖y lazּarechi֑y ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The eighth captain for the eighth month was Sibbechai the Hushathite, of the Zarhites; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

הַשְּׁמִינִי֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַשְּׁמִינִ֔י סִבְּכַ֥י הַחֻשָׁתִ֖י לַזַּרְחִ֑י וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hatּeshshiy'iy֙ lacho֣deshsh hatּeshshiy'i֔y 'abiy'e֥zer ha'anּetoti֖y lbnymyny labּe֣n ׀ yemiyni֑y ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The ninth captain for the ninth month was Abiezer the Anathothite, of the Benjamites; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

הַתְּשִׁיעִי֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הַתְּשִׁיעִ֔י אֲבִיעֶ֥זֶר הָעַנְּתֹתִ֖י לבנימיני לַבֵּ֣ן ׀ יְמִינִ֑י וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ha'ashsiyriy֙ lacho֣deshsh ha'ashsiyri֔y mahera֥y hanּetֽopati֖y lazּarechi֑y ve'al֙ maֽchaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The tenth captain for the tenth month was Maharai the Netophathite, of the Zarhites; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

הָעֲשִׂירִי֙ לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ הָעֲשִׂירִ֔י מַהְרַ֥י הַנְּטֽוֹפָתִ֖י לַזַּרְחִ֑י וְעַל֙ מַֽחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ashshetּeֽy-'ashsar֙ le'ashshetּe֣y-'ashsa֣r hacho֔deshsh bּenaya֥h hapּire'atoni֖y min-bּene֣y 'epera֑yim ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)The eleventh captain for the eleventh month was Benaiah the Pirathonite, of the children of Ephraim; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

עַשְׁתֵּֽי־עָשָׂר֙ לְעַשְׁתֵּ֣י־עָשָׂ֣ר הַחֹ֔דֶשׁ בְּנָיָ֥ה הַפִּרְעָתוֹנִ֖י מִן־בְּנֵ֣י אֶפְרָ֑יִם וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): hashshּene֤ym 'ashsar֙ lishshene֣ym 'ashsa֣r hacho֔deshsh cheledּa֥y hanּetopati֖y le'ateniy'e֑l ve'al֙ machaluqetּ֔o 'eshseri֥ym ve'arebּa'a֖h 'aֽlep׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)The twelfth captain for the twelfth month was Heldai the Netophathite, of the family of Othniel; in his division were twenty-four thousand.

הַשְּׁנֵ֤ים עָשָׂר֙ לִשְׁנֵ֣ים עָשָׂ֣ר הַחֹ֔דֶשׁ חֶלְדַּ֥י הַנְּטוֹפָתִ֖י לְעָתְנִיאֵ֑ל וְעַל֙ מַחֲלֻקְתּ֔וֹ עֶשְׂרִ֥ים וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה אָֽלֶף׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'al֙ shshibete֣y yishsera'e֔l larֽ'ubeni֣y nagi֔yd 'eliy'e֖zer bּen-zikeri֑y s lashshּi֨me'oni֔y shshepateya֖hu bּeֽn-ma'akaֽh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Furthermore, over the tribes of Israel: the ruler of the Reubenites was Eliezer the son of Zichri; of the Simeonites, Shephatiah the son of Maachah;

וְעַל֙ שִׁבְטֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל לָרֽאוּבֵנִ֣י נָגִ֔יד אֱלִיעֶ֖זֶר בֶּן־זִכְרִ֑י ס לַשִּׁ֨מְעוֹנִ֔י שְׁפַטְיָ֖הוּ בֶּֽן־מַעֲכָֽה׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): lelevi֛y chashshabeya֥h ben-qemu'e֖l le'aharo֥n tzadֽoq׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)of the Levites, Hashabiah the son of Kemuel; of the Aaronites, Zadok;

לְלֵוִ֛י חֲשַׁבְיָ֥ה בֶן־קְמוּאֵ֖ל לְאַהֲרֹ֥ן צָדֽוֹק׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): liֽyhuda֕h 'eliyh֖u me'ache֣y davi֑yd leyi֨shsashka֔r 'ameri֖y bּen-miyka'eֽl׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)of Judah, Elihu, one of David’s brothers; of Issachar, Omri the son of Michael;

לִֽיהוּדָ֕ה אֱלִיה֖וּ מֵאֲחֵ֣י דָוִ֑יד לְיִ֨שָׂשכָ֔ר עָמְרִ֖י בֶּן־מִיכָאֵֽל׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): lizebulu֕n yiֽshshemaֽ'eya֖hu bּen-'obadeya֑hu lena֨petּali֔y yeriym֖ot bּen-'azeriy'eֽl׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)of Zebulun, Ishmaiah the son of Obadiah; of Naphtali, Jerimoth the son of Azriel;

לִזְבוּלֻ֕ן יִֽשְׁמַֽעְיָ֖הוּ בֶּן־עֹבַדְיָ֑הוּ לְנַ֨פְתָּלִ֔י יְרִימ֖וֹת בֶּן־עַזְרִיאֵֽל׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): libene֣y 'epera֔yim hoshshe֖'a bּen-'azazeya֑hu lachatziy֙ shshe֣bet menashshּe֔h yo'e֖l bּen-pּedayaֽhu׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)of the children of Ephraim, Hoshea the son of Azaziah; of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Joel the son of Pedaiah;

לִבְנֵ֣י אֶפְרַ֔יִם הוֹשֵׁ֖עַ בֶּן־עֲזַזְיָ֑הוּ לַחֲצִי֙ שֵׁ֣בֶט מְנַשֶּׁ֔ה יוֹאֵ֖ל בֶּן־פְּדָיָֽהוּ׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): lachatzi֤y haֽmenashshּeh֙ gּile'a֔dah yidּ֖o bּen-zekareya֑hu s lebineyami֔n ya'ashsiy'e֖l bּen-'abeneֽr׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)of the half-tribe of Manasseh in Gilead, Iddo the son of Zechariah; of Benjamin, Jaasiel the son of Abner;

לַחֲצִ֤י הַֽמְנַשֶּׁה֙ גִּלְעָ֔דָה יִדּ֖וֹ בֶּן־זְכַרְיָ֑הוּ ס לְבִנְיָמִ֔ן יַעֲשִׂיאֵ֖ל בֶּן־אַבְנֵֽר׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): leda֕n 'azare'e֖l bּen-yerocha֑m 'e֕lּeh shsare֖y shshibete֥y yishsera'eֽl׃

Edified Edition (EDE)of Dan, Azarel the son of Jeroham. These were the princes of the tribes of Israel.

לְדָ֕ן עֲזַרְאֵ֖ל בֶּן־יְרֹחָ֑ם אֵ֕לֶּה שָׂרֵ֖י שִׁבְטֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): velo'-nashsa֤ daviyd֙ misepּara֔m lemibּe֛n 'eshseri֥ym shshana֖h ulema֑tּah kּi֚y 'ama֣r yehva֔h leharebּ֥ot 'et-yishsera'e֖l kּekokebe֥y hashshּamaֽyim׃

Edified Edition (EDE)But David did not take the number of those twenty years old and under, because the LORD had said He would multiply Israel like the stars of the heavens.

וְלֹא־נָשָׂ֤א דָוִיד֙ מִסְפָּרָ֔ם לְמִבֶּ֛ן עֶשְׂרִ֥ים שָׁנָ֖ה וּלְמָ֑טָּה כִּ֚י אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה לְהַרְבּ֥וֹת אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל כְּכוֹכְבֵ֥י הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): yo'a֨b bּen-tzeruya֜h heche֤l limenot֙ velo֣ kilּa֔h vayehi֥y bazo֛'t qe֖tzep 'al-yishsera'e֑l velo֤ 'alah֙ hamּisepּa֔r bּemisepּa֥r dּibereֽy-hayּami֖ym lamּe֥leke dּaviֽyd׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Joab the son of Zeruiah began a census, but he did not finish, because wrath came upon Israel because of it; nor was the number recorded in the account of the chronicles of King David.

יוֹאָ֨ב בֶּן־צְרוּיָ֜ה הֵחֵ֤ל לִמְנוֹת֙ וְלֹ֣א כִלָּ֔ה וַיְהִ֥י בָזֹ֛את קֶ֖צֶף עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וְלֹ֤א עָלָה֙ הַמִּסְפָּ֔ר בְּמִסְפַּ֥ר דִּבְרֵֽי־הַיָּמִ֖ים לַמֶּ֥לֶךְ דָּוִֽיד׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'al֙ 'otzer֣ot hamּe֔leke 'azema֖vet bּen-'adiy'e֑l s ve'a֣l haֽ'otzar֡ot bּashsּade֞h bּe'ari֤ym ubakּepariym֙ ubamּigedּal֔ot yehonata֖n bּen-'uzּiyּaֽhu׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)And over the king’s treasuries was AzmavS the son of Adiel; and over the storehouses in the fields, in the cities, in the villages, and in the fortresses, was Jehonathan the son of Uzziah.

וְעַל֙ אֹצְר֣וֹת הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ עַזְמָ֖וֶת בֶּן־עֲדִיאֵ֑ל ס וְעַ֣ל הָֽאֹצָר֡וֹת בַּשָּׂדֶ֞ה בֶּעָרִ֤ים וּבַכְּפָרִים֙ וּבַמִּגְדָּל֔וֹת יְהוֹנָתָ֖ן בֶּן־עֻזִּיָּֽהוּ׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'a֗l 'oshsey֙ mele֣'ket hashsּade֔h la'aboda֖t ha'adama֑h 'ezeri֖y bּen-kּelֽub׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Over those who did the work of the field for tilling the ground was Ezri the son of Chelub.

וְעַ֗ל עֹשֵׂי֙ מְלֶ֣אכֶת הַשָּׂדֶ֔ה לַעֲבֹדַ֖ת הָאֲדָמָ֑ה עֶזְרִ֖י בֶּן־כְּלֽוּב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'al-ha֨kּerami֔ym shshime'i֖y haraֽmati֑y ve'a֤l shshebּakּeramiym֙ le'otzer֣ot hayּa֔yin zabedּi֖y hashshּipemiֽy׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)And over the vineyards was Shimei the Ramathite; over the yield of the vineyards for the wine cellars was Zabdi the Shiphmite.

וְעַל־הַ֨כְּרָמִ֔ים שִׁמְעִ֖י הָרָֽמָתִ֑י וְעַ֤ל שֶׁבַּכְּרָמִים֙ לְאֹצְר֣וֹת הַיַּ֔יִן זַבְדִּ֖י הַשִּׁפְמִֽי׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'al-hazּeyti֤ym vehashshּiqemiym֙ 'ashshe֣r bּashshּepela֔h bּa֥'al chana֖n hagּederi֑y s ve'al-'otzer֥ot hashshּe֖men yo'aֽshsh׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)And over the olive trees and the sycamore trees that were in the low plains was Baal-Hanan the Gederite; and over the storehouses of oil was Joash.

וְעַל־הַזֵּיתִ֤ים וְהַשִּׁקְמִים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר בַּשְּׁפֵלָ֔ה בַּ֥עַל חָנָ֖ן הַגְּדֵרִ֑י ס וְעַל־אֹצְר֥וֹת הַשֶּׁ֖מֶן יוֹעָֽשׁ׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'al-habּaqar֙ haro'i֣ym bּashshּar֔on shtry shshireta֖y hashshּaroni֑y ve'al-habּaqar֙ bּaֽ'amaqi֔ym shshapa֖t bּen-'adelaֽy׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Shitrai the Sharonite was in charge of the herds grazing in Sharon, and Shaphat the son of Adlai was in charge of the herds in the valleys.

וְעַל־הַבָּקָר֙ הָרֹעִ֣ים בַּשָּׁר֔וֹן שטרי שִׁרְטַ֖י הַשָּׁרוֹנִ֑י וְעַל־הַבָּקָר֙ בָּֽעֲמָקִ֔ים שָׁפָ֖ט בֶּן־עַדְלָֽי׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'al-ha֨gּemalּi֔ym 'obi֖yl hayּishsheme'eli֑y ve'al-ha֣'aton֔ot yechedּeya֖hu hamּeronotiֽy׃s

Edified Edition (EDE)Over the camels also was Obil the Ishmaelite; over the donkeys was Jehdeiah the Meronothite;

וְעַל־הַ֨גְּמַלִּ֔ים אוֹבִ֖יל הַיִּשְׁמְעֵלִ֑י וְעַל־הָ֣אֲתֹנ֔וֹת יֶחְדְּיָ֖הוּ הַמֵּרֹנֹתִֽי׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'al-hatzּo֖'n yazi֣yz haֽhageri֑y kּal-'e֨lּeh֙ shsare֣y harek֔ushsh 'ashshe֖r lamּe֥leke dּaviֽyd׃

Edified Edition (EDE)and over the flocks was Jaziz the Hagrite. All these were the officials over the property which belonged to King David.

וְעַל־הַצֹּ֖אן יָזִ֣יז הַֽהַגְרִ֑י כָּל־אֵ֨לֶּה֙ שָׂרֵ֣י הָרְכ֔וּשׁ אֲשֶׁ֖ר לַמֶּ֥לֶךְ דָּוִֽיד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): viֽyhonata֤n dּod-dּaviyd֙ yo'e֔tz 'iyshsh-mebi֥yn vesope֖r h֑u viֽychiy'e֥l bּen-chakemoni֖y 'im-bּene֥y hamּeֽleke׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Also Jonathan, David’s uncle, was a counsellor, a wise man, and a scribe; and Jehiel the son of Hachmoni was with the king’s sons.

וִֽיהוֹנָתָ֤ן דּוֹד־דָּוִיד֙ יוֹעֵ֔ץ אִישׁ־מֵבִ֥ין וְסוֹפֵ֖ר ה֑וּא וִֽיחִיאֵ֥ל בֶּן־חַכְמוֹנִ֖י עִם־בְּנֵ֥י הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): va'achiyto֖pel yo'e֣tz lamּe֑leke s vechushsha֥y ha'arekּi֖y re֥'a hamּeֽleke׃

Edified Edition (EDE)Ahithophel was the king’s counsellor, and Hushai the Archite was the king’s companion.

וַאֲחִיתֹ֖פֶל יוֹעֵ֣ץ לַמֶּ֑לֶךְ ס וְחוּשַׁ֥י הָאַרְכִּ֖י רֵ֥עַ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'achare֣y 'achiyto֗pel yehoyada֤ bּen-bּenaya֨hu֙ ve'ebeyata֔r veshsar-tzaba֥ lamּe֖leke yo'aֽb׃p

Edified Edition (EDE)After Ahithophel was Jehoiada the son of Benaiah, and Abiathar. And the general of the king’s army was Joab.

וְאַחֲרֵ֣י אֲחִיתֹ֗פֶל יְהוֹיָדָ֤ע בֶּן־בְּנָיָ֨הוּ֙ וְאֶבְיָתָ֔ר וְשַׂר־צָבָ֥א לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ יוֹאָֽב׃פ
