Phonetic (Hebrew): umaֽlekּat-shsheba֗ shshoma֛'at 'et-shshe֥ma shshelomo֖h leshshe֣m yehva֑h vatּabo֥ lenasּot֖o bּechiydֽot׃
Edified Edition (EDE)When the queen of Sheba heard about the fame of Solomon and his relationship to the Name of the LORD, she came to test Solomon with hard questions.

וּמַֽלְכַּת־שְׁבָ֗א שֹׁמַ֛עַת אֶת־שֵׁ֥מַע שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לְשֵׁ֣ם יְהוָ֑ה וַתָּבֹ֥א לְנַסֹּת֖וֹ בְּחִידֽוֹת׃

2
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּabo֣ yerushshalae֗mah bּechayil֮ kּabe֣d me'od֒ gּe֠malּiym noshse'i֨ym bּeshsami֧ym vezaha֛b rab-me'o֖d ve'e֣ben yeqara֑h vatּabo'֙ 'el-shshelomo֔h vatּedabּe֣r 'ela֔yv 'e֛t kּal-'ashshe֥r haya֖h 'im-lebabaֽhּ׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Arriving at Jerusalem with a very large caravan, with camels carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones, she came to Solomon and talked with him about all that she had on her mind.

וַתָּבֹ֣א יְרוּשָׁלְַ֗מָה בְּחַיִל֮ כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹד֒ גְּ֠מַלִּים נֹשְׂאִ֨ים בְּשָׂמִ֧ים וְזָהָ֛ב רַב־מְאֹ֖ד וְאֶ֣בֶן יְקָרָ֑ה וַתָּבֹא֙ אֶל־שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וַתְּדַבֵּ֣ר אֵלָ֔יו אֵ֛ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה עִם־לְבָבָֽהּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּagּed-la֥hּ shshelomo֖h 'et-kּal-dּebare֑yha loֽ'-haya֤h dּabar֙ ne'ela֣m min-hamּe֔leke 'ashshe֧r lo֦ higּi֖yd laֽhּ׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Solomon answered all her questions; nothing was too hard for the king to explain to her.

וַיַּגֶּד־לָ֥הּ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה אֶת־כָּל־דְּבָרֶ֑יהָ לֹֽא־הָיָ֤ה דָּבָר֙ נֶעְלָ֣ם מִן־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹ֦א הִגִּ֖יד לָֽהּ׃

4
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּe֨re'֙ maֽlekּat-shsheba֔ 'e֖t kּal-chakema֣t shshelomo֑h vehabּa֖yit 'ashshe֥r bּanaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)When the queen of Sheba saw all the wisdom of Solomon and the palace he had built,

וַתֵּ֨רֶא֙ מַֽלְכַּת־שְׁבָ֔א אֵ֖ת כָּל־חָכְמַ֣ת שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וְהַבַּ֖יִת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנָֽה׃

5
Phonetic (Hebrew): uma'aka֣l shshulechan֡o umoshsha֣b 'abadayv֩ uma'ama֨d mshrtv meshshareta֜yv umalebּuֽshsheyhem֙ umashsheqa֔yv ve'o֣lat֔o 'ashshe֥r ya'ale֖h bּe֣yt yehva֑h velo'-ha֥yah ba֛hּ '֖od rֽucha׃
Edified Edition (EDE)the food on his table, the seating of his officials, the attending servants in their robes, his cupbearers, and the burnt offerings he made at the temple of the LORD, she was overwhelmed.

וּמַאֲכַ֣ל שֻׁלְחָנ֡וֹ וּמוֹשַׁ֣ב עֲבָדָיו֩ וּמַעֲמַ֨ד משרתו מְשָׁרְתָ֜יו וּמַלְבֻּֽשֵׁיהֶם֙ וּמַשְׁקָ֔יו וְעֹ֣לָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲלֶ֖ה בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה בָ֛הּ ע֖וֹד רֽוּחַ׃

6
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּo֨'mer֙ 'el-hamּe֔leke 'emet֙ haya֣h hadּaba֔r 'ashshe֥r shshama֖'etּiy bּe'aretzi֑y 'al-dּebare֖yka ve'al-chakemateֽka׃
Edified Edition (EDE)She said to the king, 'The report I heard in my own country about your achievements and your wisdom is true.'

וַתֹּ֨אמֶר֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֱמֶת֙ הָיָ֣ה הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי בְּאַרְצִ֑י עַל־דְּבָרֶ֖יךָ וְעַל־חָכְמָתֶֽךָ׃

7
Phonetic (Hebrew): veloֽ'-he'ema֣netּiy ladּebari֗ym 'a֤d 'ashsher-bּa֨'tiy֙ vatּire'e֣ynah 'eyna֔y vehinּe֥h loֽ'-hugּad-li֖y hache֑tziy hosa֤petּa chakemah֙ vat֔ob 'el-hashshּemu'a֖h 'ashshe֥r shshamaֽ'etּiy׃
Edified Edition (EDE)'But I did not believe these things until I came and saw them with my own eyes. Indeed, not even half was told me; in wisdom and wealth you have far exceeded the report I heard.'

וְלֹֽא־הֶאֱמַ֣נְתִּי לַדְּבָרִ֗ים עַ֤ד אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֨אתִי֙ וַתִּרְאֶ֣ינָה עֵינַ֔י וְהִנֵּ֥ה לֹֽא־הֻגַּד־לִ֖י הַחֵ֑צִי הוֹסַ֤פְתָּ חָכְמָה֙ וָט֔וֹב אֶל־הַשְּׁמוּעָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמָֽעְתִּי׃

8
Phonetic (Hebrew): ashshere֣y 'anashshe֔yka 'ashshere֖y 'abade֣yka 'e֑lּeh haֽ'omedi֤ym lepane֨yka֙ tּami֔yd hashshּome'i֖ym 'et-chakemateֽka׃
Edified Edition (EDE)'How happy your people must be! How happy your officials, who continually stand before you and hear your wisdom!'

אַשְׁרֵ֣י אֲנָשֶׁ֔יךָ אַשְׁרֵ֖י עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ אֵ֑לֶּה הָֽעֹמְדִ֤ים לְפָנֶ֨יךָ֙ תָּמִ֔יד הַשֹּׁמְעִ֖ים אֶת־חָכְמָתֶֽךָ׃

9
Phonetic (Hebrew): yehi֨y yehva֤h 'elohe֨yka֙ bּar֔uke 'ashsher֙ chape֣tz bּeka֔ letitּeka֖ 'al-kּisּe֣ yishsera'e֑l bּe'ahaba֨t yehva֤h 'et-yishsera'el֙ le'ola֔m vayeshsiֽymeka֣ leme֔leke la'ashs֥ot mishshepּa֖t utzedaqaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)'Praise be to the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the LORD’s eternal love for Israel, he has made you king to maintain justice and righteousness.'

יְהִ֨י יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ֙ בָּר֔וּךְ אֲשֶׁר֙ חָפֵ֣ץ בְּךָ֔ לְתִתְּךָ֖ עַל־כִּסֵּ֣א יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל בְּאַהֲבַ֨ת יְהוָ֤ה אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְעֹלָ֔ם וַיְשִֽׂימְךָ֣ לְמֶ֔לֶךְ לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת מִשְׁפָּ֖ט וּצְדָקָֽה׃

10
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּitּe֨n lamּe֜leke me'a֥h ve'eshseri֣ym ׀ kּikּa֣r zaha֗b ubeshsami֛ym harebּe֥h me'o֖d ve'e֣ben yeqara֑h lo'-ba'֩ kabּo֨shsem hah֥u 'od֙ laro֔b 'ashsher-natena֥h maֽlekּat-shsheba֖ lamּe֥leke shshelomoֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And she gave the king a hundred and twenty talents of gold, large quantities of spices, and precious stones. Never again were so many spices brought in as those the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

וַתִּתֵּ֨ן לַמֶּ֜לֶךְ מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֣ים ׀ כִּכַּ֣ר זָהָ֗ב וּבְשָׂמִ֛ים הַרְבֵּ֥ה מְאֹ֖ד וְאֶ֣בֶן יְקָרָ֑ה לֹא־בָא֩ כַבֹּ֨שֶׂם הַה֥וּא עוֹד֙ לָרֹ֔ב אֲשֶׁר־נָתְנָ֥ה מַֽלְכַּת־שְׁבָ֖א לַמֶּ֥לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃

11
Phonetic (Hebrew): vegam֙ 'oni֣y chiyra֔m 'ashsher-nashsa֥ zaha֖b me'opi֑yr hebi֨y me'opi֜yr 'atze֧y 'alemugּi֛ym harebּe֥h me'o֖d ve'e֥ben yeqaraֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)(Hiram’s ships brought gold from Ophir; and from there they brought great cargoes of almug wood and precious stones.

וְגַם֙ אֳנִ֣י חִירָ֔ם אֲשֶׁר־נָשָׂ֥א זָהָ֖ב מֵאוֹפִ֑יר הֵבִ֨יא מֵאֹפִ֜יר עֲצֵ֧י אַלְמֻגִּ֛ים הַרְבֵּ֥ה מְאֹ֖ד וְאֶ֥בֶן יְקָרָֽה׃

12
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֣'ashs ha֠mּeleke 'et-'atze֨y ha'alemugּi֜ym mise'a֤d lebeyt-yehvah֙ ulebe֣yt hamּe֔leke vekinּor֥ot unebali֖ym lashshּari֑ym lo֣ baֽ'-ke֞n 'atze֤y 'alemugּiym֙ velo֣ nire'a֔h 'a֖d hayּ֥om hazּeֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The king used the almug wood to make supports for the temple of the LORD and for the royal palace, and to make harps and lyres for the musicians. So much almug wood has never been imported or seen since that day.)

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ אֶת־עֲצֵ֨י הָאַלְמֻגִּ֜ים מִסְעָ֤ד לְבֵית־יְהוָה֙ וּלְבֵ֣ית הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְכִנֹּר֥וֹת וּנְבָלִ֖ים לַשָּׁרִ֑ים לֹ֣א בָֽא־כֵ֞ן עֲצֵ֤י אַלְמֻגִּים֙ וְלֹ֣א נִרְאָ֔ה עַ֖ד הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּֽה׃

13
Phonetic (Hebrew): vehamּe֨leke shshelomo֜h nata֣n lemaֽlekּat-shsheba֗ 'et-kּal-chepetzahּ֙ 'ashshe֣r shsha'a֔lah milּebad֙ 'ashshe֣r naֽtan-la֔hּ kּeya֖d hamּe֣leke shshelomo֑h vatּe֛pen vatּe֥leke le'aretza֖hּ hi֥y va'abadeֽyha׃s
Edified Edition (EDE)King Solomon gave the queen of Sheba all she desired and asked for, besides what he had given her out of his royal bounty. Then she left and returned with her retinue to her own country.

וְהַמֶּ֨לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה נָתַ֣ן לְמַֽלְכַּת־שְׁבָ֗א אֶת־כָּל־חֶפְצָהּ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁאָ֔לָה מִלְּבַד֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר נָֽתַן־לָ֔הּ כְּיַ֖ד הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וַתֵּ֛פֶן וַתֵּ֥לֶךְ לְאַרְצָ֖הּ הִ֥יא וַעֲבָדֶֽיהָ׃ס

14
Phonetic (Hebrew): vֽayehiy֙ mishsheqa֣l hazּaha֔b 'ashsher-bּa֥ lishshelomo֖h bּeshshana֣h 'echa֑t shshe֥shsh me'֛ot shshishshּi֥ym vashshe֖shsh kּikּa֥r zahaֽb׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The weight of the gold that Solomon received yearly was six hundred and sixty-six talents,

וַֽיְהִי֙ מִשְׁקַ֣ל הַזָּהָ֔ב אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֥א לִשְׁלֹמֹ֖ה בְּשָׁנָ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֛וֹת שִׁשִּׁ֥ים וָשֵׁ֖שׁ כִּכַּ֥ר זָהָֽב׃

15
Phonetic (Hebrew): lebad֙ me'aneshshe֣y hatּari֔ym umisecha֖r harokeli֑ym vekal-maleke֥y ha'e֖reb upach֥ot ha'aֽretz׃
Edified Edition (EDE)not including the revenues from merchants and traders and from all the Arabian kings and the governors of the territories.

לְבַד֙ מֵאַנְשֵׁ֣י הַתָּרִ֔ים וּמִסְחַ֖ר הָרֹכְלִ֑ים וְכָל־מַלְכֵ֥י הָעֶ֖רֶב וּפַח֥וֹת הָאָֽרֶץ׃

16
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֨'ashs hamּe֧leke shshelomo֛h ma'ta֥yim tzinּa֖h zaha֣b shshach֑ut shsheshsh-me'֣ot zaha֔b ya'ale֖h 'al-hatzּinּa֥h ha'echaֽt׃
Edified Edition (EDE)King Solomon made two hundred large shields of hammered gold; six hundred shekels of gold went into each shield.

וַיַּ֨עַשׂ הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה מָאתַ֥יִם צִנָּ֖ה זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֑וּט שֵׁשׁ־מֵא֣וֹת זָהָ֔ב יַעֲלֶ֖ה עַל־הַצִּנָּ֥ה הָאֶחָֽת׃

17
Phonetic (Hebrew): ushsheloshsh-me'֤ot maֽginּiym֙ zaha֣b shshach֔ut shshelo֤shshet maniym֙ zaha֔b ya'ale֖h 'al-hamּage֣n ha'echa֑t vayּitּene֣m hamּe֔leke bּe֖yt ya֥'ar halּebanֽon׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)He also made three hundred small shields of hammered gold, with three minas of gold in each shield. The king put them in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon.

וּשְׁלֹשׁ־מֵא֤וֹת מָֽגִנִּים֙ זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֔וּט שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת מָנִים֙ זָהָ֔ב יַעֲלֶ֖ה עַל־הַמָּגֵ֣ן הָאֶחָ֑ת וַיִּתְּנֵ֣ם הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ בֵּ֖ית יַ֥עַר הַלְּבָנֽוֹן׃פ

18
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֧'ashs hamּe֛leke kּisּe'-shshe֖n gּad֑ol vayetzapּe֖hu zaha֥b mupaֽz׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the king made a great throne overlaid with ivory and pure gold.

וַיַּ֧עַשׂ הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ כִּסֵּא־שֵׁ֖ן גָּד֑וֹל וַיְצַפֵּ֖הוּ זָהָ֥ב מוּפָֽז׃

19
Phonetic (Hebrew): shshe֧shsh ma'al֣ot lakּisּe֗h vero'shsh-'ago֤l lakּisּeh֙ me'aֽchara֔yv veyado֛t mizּe֥h umizּe֖h 'el-meq֣om hashshּa֑bet ushshena֣yim 'aray֔ot 'omedi֖ym 'e֥tzel hayּadֽot׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The throne had six steps, and its back had a rounded top. On both sides of the seat were armrests, with a lion standing beside each of them.

שֵׁ֧שׁ מַעֲל֣וֹת לַכִּסֵּ֗ה וְרֹאשׁ־עָגֹ֤ל לַכִּסֵּה֙ מֵאַֽחֲרָ֔יו וְיָדֹ֛ת מִזֶּ֥ה וּמִזֶּ֖ה אֶל־מְק֣וֹם הַשָּׁ֑בֶת וּשְׁנַ֣יִם אֲרָי֔וֹת עֹמְדִ֖ים אֵ֥צֶל הַיָּדֽוֹת׃

20
Phonetic (Hebrew): ushshene֧ym 'ashsa֣r 'arayi֗ym 'omedi֥ym shsha֛m 'al-shshe֥shsh haֽmּa'al֖ot mizּe֣h umizּe֑h loֽ'-na'ashsa֥h ke֖n lekal-mamelakֽot׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Twelve lions stood on the six steps, one at either end of each step. Nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom.

וּשְׁנֵ֧ים עָשָׂ֣ר אֲרָיִ֗ים עֹמְדִ֥ים שָׁ֛ם עַל־שֵׁ֥שׁ הַֽמַּעֲל֖וֹת מִזֶּ֣ה וּמִזֶּ֑ה לֹֽא־נַעֲשָׂ֥ה כֵ֖ן לְכָל־מַמְלָכֽוֹת׃

21
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve֠kol kּele֞y mashsheqe֨h hamּe֤leke shshelomoh֙ zaha֔b veko֗l kּele֛y bּeֽyt-ya֥'ar halּeban֖on zaha֣b sag֑ur 'e֣yn kּe֗sep lo֥ necheshsha֛b bּiyme֥y shshelomo֖h lime'ֽumah׃
Edified Edition (EDE)All King Solomon’s goblets were gold, and all the household articles in the Palace of the Forest of Lebanon were pure gold. Nothing was made of silver, because silver was considered of little value in Solomon’s days.

וְ֠כֹל כְּלֵ֞י מַשְׁקֵ֨ה הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ זָהָ֔ב וְכֹ֗ל כְּלֵ֛י בֵּֽית־יַ֥עַר הַלְּבָנ֖וֹן זָהָ֣ב סָג֑וּר אֵ֣ין כֶּ֗סֶף לֹ֥א נֶחְשָׁ֛ב בִּימֵ֥י שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לִמְאֽוּמָה׃

22
Phonetic (Hebrew): kּiy֩ 'oni֨y tareshshi֤yshsh lamּe֨leke֙ bּayּa֔m 'i֖m 'oni֣y chiyra֑m 'achat֩ leshshalo֨shsh shshani֜ym tּab֣o ׀ 'oni֣y tareshshi֗yshsh noֽshse'et֙ zaha֣b vake֔sep shshenehabּi֥ym veqopi֖ym vetukּiyּiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The king had a fleet of trading ships at sea along with the ships of Hiram. Once every three years it returned, carrying gold, silver and ivory, and apes and baboons.

כִּי֩ אֳנִ֨י תַרְשִׁ֤ישׁ לַמֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ בַּיָּ֔ם עִ֖ם אֳנִ֣י חִירָ֑ם אַחַת֩ לְשָׁלֹ֨שׁ שָׁנִ֜ים תָּב֣וֹא ׀ אֳנִ֣י תַרְשִׁ֗ישׁ נֹֽשְׂאֵת֙ זָהָ֣ב וָכֶ֔סֶף שֶׁנְהַבִּ֥ים וְקֹפִ֖ים וְתֻכִּיִּֽים׃

23
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּigedּal֙ hamּe֣leke shshelomo֔h mikּo֖l maleke֣y ha'a֑retz le'o֖shsher ulechakemaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)King Solomon was greater in riches and wisdom than all the other kings of the earth.

וַיִּגְדַּל֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה מִכֹּ֖ל מַלְכֵ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ לְעֹ֖שֶׁר וּלְחָכְמָֽה׃

24
Phonetic (Hebrew): veka֨l-ha'a֔retz mebaqeshshi֖ym 'et-pּene֣y shshelomo֑h lishshemo֨'a֙ 'et-chakemat֔o 'ashsher-nata֥n 'elohi֖ym bּelibּֽo׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The whole world sought audience with Solomon to hear the wisdom God had put in his heart.

וְכָ֨ל־הָאָ֔רֶץ מְבַקְשִׁ֖ים אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה לִשְׁמֹ֨עַ֙ אֶת־חָכְמָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥ן אֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּלִבּֽוֹ׃

25
Phonetic (Hebrew): vehe֣mּah mebi'i֣ym 'i֣yshsh minechat֡o kּele֣y kesep֩ ukele֨y zaha֤b ushselamot֙ vene֣shsheq ubeshsami֔ym susi֖ym uperadi֑ym dּebar-shshana֖h bּeshshanaֽh׃s
Edified Edition (EDE)Year after year, everyone who came brought a gift, articles of silver and gold, robes, weapons and spices, and horses and mules.

וְהֵ֣מָּה מְבִאִ֣ים אִ֣ישׁ מִנְחָת֡וֹ כְּלֵ֣י כֶסֶף֩ וּכְלֵ֨י זָהָ֤ב וּשְׂלָמוֹת֙ וְנֵ֣שֶׁק וּבְשָׂמִ֔ים סוּסִ֖ים וּפְרָדִ֑ים דְּבַר־שָׁנָ֖ה בְּשָׁנָֽה׃ס

26
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּe'eso֣p shshelomoh֮ re֣keb uparashshiym֒ vayehiy-l֗o 'e֤lep ve'arebּa'-me'ot֙ re֔keb ushsheneym-'ashsa֥r 'e֖lep pּaֽrashshi֑ym vayּanechem֙ bּe'are֣y hare֔keb ve'im-hamּe֖leke bּiyrushshalaiֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Solomon accumulated chariots and horses; he had fourteen hundred chariots and twelve thousand horses, which he kept in the chariot cities and also with him in Jerusalem.

וַיֶּאֱסֹ֣ף שְׁלֹמֹה֮ רֶ֣כֶב וּפָרָשִׁים֒ וַיְהִי־ל֗וֹ אֶ֤לֶף וְאַרְבַּע־מֵאוֹת֙ רֶ֔כֶב וּשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֖לֶף פָּֽרָשִׁ֑ים וַיַּנְחֵם֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י הָרֶ֔כֶב וְעִם־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּitּe֨n hamּe֧leke 'et-hakּe֛sep bּiyrushshala֖im kּa'abani֑ym ve'e֣t ha'arazi֗ym nata֛n kּashshּiqemi֥ym 'ashsher-bּashshּepela֖h laroֽb׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and cedar as plentiful as sycamore-fig trees in the foothills.

וַיִּתֵּ֨ן הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ אֶת־הַכֶּ֛סֶף בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם כָּאֲבָנִ֑ים וְאֵ֣ת הָאֲרָזִ֗ים נָתַ֛ן כַּשִּׁקְמִ֥ים אֲשֶׁר־בַּשְּׁפֵלָ֖ה לָרֹֽב׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): umotza֧ hasּusi֛ym 'ashshe֥r lishshelomo֖h mimּitzera֑yim umiqeve֕h sochare֣y hamּe֔leke yiqech֥u miqeve֖h bּimechiֽyr׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Solomon’s horses were imported from Egypt and from Kue, the royal merchants purchased them from Kue at the current price.

וּמוֹצָ֧א הַסּוּסִ֛ים אֲשֶׁ֥ר לִשְׁלֹמֹ֖ה מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם וּמִקְוֵ֕ה סֹחֲרֵ֣י הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ יִקְח֥וּ מִקְוֵ֖ה בִּמְחִֽיר׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vaֽ֠tּa'aleh vatּetze֨ merekּaba֤h mimּitzera֨yim֙ bּeshshe֣shsh me'֣ot kּe֔sep ves֖us bּachamishshּi֣ym ume'a֑h ve֠ken lekal-maleke֧y hachitּi֛ym ulemaleke֥y 'ara֖m bּeyada֥m yotziֽ'u׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)They imported a chariot from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty. They also exported them to all the kings of the Hittites and of the Arameans.

וַֽ֠תַּעֲלֶה וַתֵּצֵ֨א מֶרְכָּבָ֤ה מִמִּצְרַ֨יִם֙ בְּשֵׁ֣שׁ מֵא֣וֹת כֶּ֔סֶף וְס֖וּס בַּחֲמִשִּׁ֣ים וּמֵאָ֑ה וְ֠כֵן לְכָל־מַלְכֵ֧י הַחִתִּ֛ים וּלְמַלְכֵ֥י אֲרָ֖ם בְּיָדָ֥ם יֹצִֽאוּ׃פ
