Phonetic (Hebrew): umaֽlekּat-shsheba֗ shshaֽme'ah֮ 'et-shshe֣ma shshelomoh֒ vatּab֣o lenasּot֩ 'et-shshelomo֨h bechiyd֜ot bּiyrֽushshalai֗m bּecha֣yil kּabe֣d me'o֡d u֠gemalּiym noshse'i֨ym bּeshsami֧ym vezaha֛b laro֖b ve'e֣ben yeqara֑h vatּabo'֙ 'el-shshelomo֔h vatּedabּe֣r 'imּ֔o 'e֛t kּal-'ashshe֥r haya֖h 'im-lebabaֽhּ׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Now when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to Jerusalem to test Solomon with hard questions, having a very great retinue, with camels that bore spices, gold in abundance, and precious stones; and when she came to Solomon, she spoke with him about all that was in her heart.

וּמַֽלְכַּת־שְׁבָ֗א שָֽׁמְעָה֮ אֶת־שֵׁ֣מַע שְׁלֹמֹה֒ וַתָּב֣וֹא לְנַסּוֹת֩ אֶת־שְׁלֹמֹ֨ה בְחִיד֜וֹת בִּירֽוּשָׁלִַ֗ם בְּחַ֣יִל כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֡ד וּ֠גְמַלִּים נֹשְׂאִ֨ים בְּשָׂמִ֧ים וְזָהָ֛ב לָרֹ֖ב וְאֶ֣בֶן יְקָרָ֑ה וַתָּבוֹא֙ אֶל־שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה וַתְּדַבֵּ֣ר עִמּ֔וֹ אֵ֛ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר הָיָ֖ה עִם־לְבָבָֽהּ׃

2
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּagּed-la֥hּ shshelomo֖h 'et-kּal-dּebare֑yha veloֽ'-ne'ela֤m dּabar֙ mishshּelomo֔h 'ashshe֧r lo֦ higּi֖yd laֽhּ׃
Edified Edition (EDE)So Solomon answered all her questions; there was nothing so difficult for Solomon that he could not explain it to her.

וַיַּגֶּד־לָ֥הּ שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה אֶת־כָּל־דְּבָרֶ֑יהָ וְלֹֽא־נֶעְלַ֤ם דָּבָר֙ מִשְּׁלֹמֹ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹ֦א הִגִּ֖יד לָֽהּ׃

3
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּe֨re'֙ maֽlekּat-shsheba֔ 'e֖t chakema֣t shshelomo֑h vehabּa֖yit 'ashshe֥r bּanaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And when the queen of Sheba had seen the wisdom of Solomon, the house that he had built,

וַתֵּ֨רֶא֙ מַֽלְכַּת־שְׁבָ֔א אֵ֖ת חָכְמַ֣ת שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה וְהַבַּ֖יִת אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנָֽה׃

4
Phonetic (Hebrew): uma'aka֣l shshulechan֡o umoshsha֣b 'abadayv֩ uma'ama֨d meshshareta֜yv umalebּֽushsheyhe֗m umashsheqayv֙ umalebּ֣ushsheyhe֔m va'aliyּat֔o 'ashshe֥r ya'ale֖h bּe֣yt yehva֑h velo'-ha֥yah '֛od bּa֖hּ rֽucha׃
Edified Edition (EDE)the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers and their apparel, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the LORD, there was no more spirit in her.

וּמַאֲכַ֣ל שֻׁלְחָנ֡וֹ וּמוֹשַׁ֣ב עֲבָדָיו֩ וּמַעֲמַ֨ד מְשָׁרְתָ֜יו וּמַלְבּֽוּשֵׁיהֶ֗ם וּמַשְׁקָיו֙ וּמַלְבּ֣וּשֵׁיהֶ֔ם וַעֲלִיָּת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁ֥ר יַעֲלֶ֖ה בֵּ֣ית יְהוָ֑ה וְלֹא־הָ֥יָה ע֛וֹד בָּ֖הּ רֽוּחַ׃

5
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּo֨'mer֙ 'el-hamּe֔leke 'emet֙ hadּaba֔r 'ashshe֥r shshama֖'etּiy bּe'aretzi֑y 'al-dּebare֖yka ve'al-chakemateֽka׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then she said to the king: "It was a true report which I heard in my own land about your words and your wisdom.

וַתֹּ֨אמֶר֙ אֶל־הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ אֱמֶת֙ הַדָּבָ֔ר אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמַ֖עְתִּי בְּאַרְצִ֑י עַל־דְּבָרֶ֖יךָ וְעַל־חָכְמָתֶֽךָ׃

6
Phonetic (Hebrew): veloֽ'-he'ema֣netּiy ledibereyhe֗m 'a֤d 'ashsher-bּa֨'tiy֙ vatּire'e֣ynah 'eyna֔y vehinּeh֙ lo֣ hugּad-li֔y chatzi֖y marebּi֣yt chakemate֑ka yasa֕petּa 'al-hashshּemu'a֖h 'ashshe֥r shshamaֽ'etּiy׃
Edified Edition (EDE)However I did not believe their words until I came and my eyes had seen it; and indeed the half of the greatness of your wisdom was not told me. You exceed the fame of which I heard."

וְלֹֽא־הֶאֱמַ֣נְתִּי לְדִבְרֵיהֶ֗ם עַ֤ד אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֨אתִי֙ וַתִּרְאֶ֣ינָה עֵינַ֔י וְהִנֵּה֙ לֹ֣א הֻגַּד־לִ֔י חֲצִ֖י מַרְבִּ֣ית חָכְמָתֶ֑ךָ יָסַ֕פְתָּ עַל־הַשְּׁמוּעָ֖ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר שָׁמָֽעְתִּי׃

7
Phonetic (Hebrew): ashshere֣y 'anashshe֔yka ve'ashshere֖y 'abade֣yka 'e֑lּeh ha'omedi֤ym lepane֨yka֙ tּami֔yd veshshome'i֖ym 'et-chakemateֽka׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Happy are your men and happy are these your servants, who stand continually before you and hear your wisdom!

אַשְׁרֵ֣י אֲנָשֶׁ֔יךָ וְאַשְׁרֵ֖י עֲבָדֶ֣יךָ אֵ֑לֶּה הָעֹמְדִ֤ים לְפָנֶ֨יךָ֙ תָּמִ֔יד וְשֹׁמְעִ֖ים אֶת־חָכְמָתֶֽךָ׃

8
Phonetic (Hebrew): yehi֨y yehva֤h 'elohe֨yka֙ bּar֔uke 'ashshe֣r ׀ chape֣tz bּeka֗ letitּeka֤ 'al-kּise'o֙ leme֔leke layhva֖h 'elohe֑yka bּe'ahaba֨t 'elohe֤yka 'et-yishsera'el֙ leha'amiyd֣o le'ola֔m vayּitּeneka֤ 'aleyhem֙ leme֔leke la'ashs֖ot mishshepּa֥t utzedaqaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Blessed be the LORD your God, who delighted in you, setting you on His throne to be king for the LORD your God! Because your God has loved Israel, to establish them forever, therefore He made you king over them, to do judgement and justice."

יְהִ֨י יְהוָ֤ה אֱלֹהֶ֨יךָ֙ בָּר֔וּךְ אֲשֶׁ֣ר ׀ חָפֵ֣ץ בְּךָ֗ לְתִתְּךָ֤ עַל־כִּסְאוֹ֙ לְמֶ֔לֶךְ לַיהוָ֖ה אֱלֹהֶ֑יךָ בְּאַהֲבַ֨ת אֱלֹהֶ֤יךָ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ לְהַעֲמִיד֣וֹ לְעוֹלָ֔ם וַיִּתֶּנְךָ֤ עֲלֵיהֶם֙ לְמֶ֔לֶךְ לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת מִשְׁפָּ֥ט וּצְדָקָֽה׃

9
Phonetic (Hebrew): vatּitּe֨n lamּe֜leke me'a֥h ve'eshseri֣ym ׀ kּikּa֣r zaha֗b ubeshsami֛ym laro֥b me'o֖d ve'e֣ben yeqara֑h velo֤ hayah֙ kּabּo֣shsem hah֔u 'ashsher-natena֥h maֽlekּat-shsheba֖ lamּe֥leke shshelomoֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then she gave the king one hundred and twenty talents of gold, spices in great abundance, and precious stones; there never was any spice such as the queen of Sheba gave to King Solomon.

וַתִּתֵּ֨ן לַמֶּ֜לֶךְ מֵאָ֥ה וְעֶשְׂרִ֣ים ׀ כִּכַּ֣ר זָהָ֗ב וּבְשָׂמִ֛ים לָרֹ֥ב מְאֹ֖ד וְאֶ֣בֶן יְקָרָ֑ה וְלֹ֤א הָיָה֙ כַּבֹּ֣שֶׂם הַה֔וּא אֲשֶׁר־נָתְנָ֥ה מַֽלְכַּת־שְׁבָ֖א לַמֶּ֥לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹֽה׃

10
Phonetic (Hebrew): vegam-'abede֤y chyrm churam֙ ve'abede֣y shshelomo֔h 'ashsher-hebi֥y'u zaha֖b me'opi֑yr hebi֛y'u 'atze֥y 'alegּumּi֖ym ve'e֥ben yeqaraֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Also the servants of Huram and the servants of Solomon, who brought gold from Ophir, brought algum wood and precious stones.

וְגַם־עַבְדֵ֤י חירם חוּרָם֙ וְעַבְדֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־הֵבִ֥יאוּ זָהָ֖ב מֵאוֹפִ֑יר הֵבִ֛יאוּ עֲצֵ֥י אַלְגּוּמִּ֖ים וְאֶ֥בֶן יְקָרָֽה׃

11
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֣'ashs ha֠mּeleke 'et-'atze֨y haֽ'alegּumּi֜ym mesilּ֤ot lebeyt-yehvah֙ ulebe֣yt hamּe֔leke vekinּor֥ot unebali֖ym lashshּari֑ym velo'-nire'֥u kahe֛m lepani֖ym bּe'e֥retz yehudaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And the king made walkways of the algum wood for the house of the LORD and for the king’s palace, also harps and stringed instruments for singers; and there were none such as these seen before in the land of Judah.

וַיַּ֣עַשׂ הַ֠מֶּלֶךְ אֶת־עֲצֵ֨י הָֽאַלְגּוּמִּ֜ים מְסִלּ֤וֹת לְבֵית־יְהוָה֙ וּלְבֵ֣ית הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ וְכִנֹּר֥וֹת וּנְבָלִ֖ים לַשָּׁרִ֑ים וְלֹא־נִרְא֥וּ כָהֵ֛ם לְפָנִ֖ים בְּאֶ֥רֶץ יְהוּדָֽה׃

12
Phonetic (Hebrew): vehamּe֨leke shshelomo֜h nata֣n lemaֽlekּat-shsheba֗ 'et-kּal-chepetzahּ֙ 'ashshe֣r shsha'a֔lah milּeba֖d 'ashsher-hebi֣y'ah 'el-hamּe֑leke vaֽtּahapo֛ke vatּe֥leke le'aretza֖hּ hi֥y va'abadeֽyha׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)Now King Solomon gave to the queen of Sheba all she desired, whatever she asked, besides what she had brought to the king. So she turned and went to her own land, she and her servants.

וְהַמֶּ֨לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֜ה נָתַ֣ן לְמַֽלְכַּת־שְׁבָ֗א אֶת־כָּל־חֶפְצָהּ֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר שָׁאָ֔לָה מִלְּבַ֖ד אֲשֶׁר־הֵבִ֣יאָה אֶל־הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ וַֽתַּהֲפֹ֛ךְ וַתֵּ֥לֶךְ לְאַרְצָ֖הּ הִ֥יא וַעֲבָדֶֽיהָ׃פ

13
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayehiy֙ mishsheqa֣l hazּaha֔b 'ashsher-bּa֥ lishshelomo֖h bּeshshana֣h 'echa֑t shshe֥shsh me'֛ot veshshishshּi֥ym vashshe֖shsh kּikּere֥y zahaֽb׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The weight of gold that came to Solomon in one year was six hundred and sixty-six talents of gold,

וַיְהִי֙ מִשְׁקַ֣ל הַזָּהָ֔ב אֲשֶׁר־בָּ֥א לִשְׁלֹמֹ֖ה בְּשָׁנָ֣ה אֶחָ֑ת שֵׁ֥שׁ מֵא֛וֹת וְשִׁשִּׁ֥ים וָשֵׁ֖שׁ כִּכְּרֵ֥י זָהָֽב׃

14
Phonetic (Hebrew): leba֞d me'aneshshe֧y hatּari֛ym vehasּochari֖ym mebiy'i֑ym vekal-maleke֤y 'arab֙ upach֣ot ha'a֔retz mebiy'i֛ym zaha֥b vake֖sep lishshelomoֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)besides what the travelling merchants and traders brought. And all the kings of Arabia and governors of the country brought gold and silver to Solomon.

לְבַ֞ד מֵאַנְשֵׁ֧י הַתָּרִ֛ים וְהַסֹּחֲרִ֖ים מְבִיאִ֑ים וְכָל־מַלְכֵ֤י עֲרַב֙ וּפַח֣וֹת הָאָ֔רֶץ מְבִיאִ֛ים זָהָ֥ב וָכֶ֖סֶף לִשְׁלֹמֹֽה׃

15
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֨'ashs hamּe֧leke shshelomo֛h ma'ta֥yim tzinּa֖h zaha֣b shshach֑ut shshe֤shsh me'ot֙ zaha֣b shshach֔ut ya'ale֖h 'al-hatzּinּa֥h ha'echaֽt׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And King Solomon made two hundred large shields of beaten gold; six hundred shekels of beaten gold went into each shield.

וַיַּ֨עַשׂ הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה מָאתַ֥יִם צִנָּ֖ה זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֑וּט שֵׁ֤שׁ מֵאוֹת֙ זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֔וּט יַעֲלֶ֖ה עַל־הַצִּנָּ֥ה הָאֶחָֽת׃

16
Phonetic (Hebrew): ushsheloshsh-me'֤ot maֽginּiym֙ zaha֣b shshach֔ut shshelo֤shsh me'ot֙ zaha֔b ya'ale֖h 'al-hamּage֣n ha'echa֑t vayּitּene֣m hamּe֔leke bּebe֖yt ya֥'ar halּebanֽon׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)He also made three hundred shields of beaten gold; three hundred shekels of gold went into each shield. The king put them in the House of the Forest of Lebanon.

וּשְׁלֹשׁ־מֵא֤וֹת מָֽגִנִּים֙ זָהָ֣ב שָׁח֔וּט שְׁלֹ֤שׁ מֵאוֹת֙ זָהָ֔ב יַעֲלֶ֖ה עַל־הַמָּגֵ֣ן הָאֶחָ֑ת וַיִּתְּנֵ֣ם הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ בְּבֵ֖ית יַ֥עַר הַלְּבָנֽוֹן׃פ

17
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֧'ashs hamּe֛leke kּisּe'-shshe֖n gּad֑ol vayetzapּe֖hu zaha֥b tahֽor׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Moreover the king made a great throne of ivory, and overlaid it with pure gold.

וַיַּ֧עַשׂ הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ כִּסֵּא־שֵׁ֖ן גָּד֑וֹל וַיְצַפֵּ֖הוּ זָהָ֥ב טָהֽוֹר׃

18
Phonetic (Hebrew): veshshe֣shsh ma'al֣ot la֠kּisּe veke֨beshsh bּazּaha֤b lakּisּe'֙ ma'ochazi֔ym veyad֛ot mizּe֥h umizּe֖h 'al-meq֣om hashshּa֑bet ushshena֣yim 'aray֔ot 'omedi֖ym 'e֥tzel hayּadֽot׃
Edified Edition (EDE)There were six steps to the throne, with a footstool of gold, which were fastened to the throne; there were armrests on either side of the seat, and two lions stood beside the armrests.

וְשֵׁ֣שׁ מַעֲל֣וֹת לַ֠כִּסֵּא וְכֶ֨בֶשׁ בַּזָּהָ֤ב לַכִּסֵּא֙ מָאֳחָזִ֔ים וְיָד֛וֹת מִזֶּ֥ה וּמִזֶּ֖ה עַל־מְק֣וֹם הַשָּׁ֑בֶת וּשְׁנַ֣יִם אֲרָי֔וֹת עֹמְדִ֖ים אֵ֥צֶל הַיָּדֽוֹת׃

19
Phonetic (Hebrew): ushshene֧ym 'ashsa֣r 'aray֗ot 'omedi֥ym shsha֛m 'al-shshe֥shsh haֽmּa'al֖ot mizּe֣h umizּe֑h lo'-na'ashsa֥h ke֖n lekal-mamelakaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Twelve lions stood there, one on each side of the six steps; nothing like it had ever been made for any other kingdom.

וּשְׁנֵ֧ים עָשָׂ֣ר אֲרָי֗וֹת עֹמְדִ֥ים שָׁ֛ם עַל־שֵׁ֥שׁ הַֽמַּעֲל֖וֹת מִזֶּ֣ה וּמִזֶּ֑ה לֹא־נַעֲשָׂ֥ה כֵ֖ן לְכָל־מַמְלָכָֽה׃

20
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve֠kol kּele֞y mashsheqe֨h hamּe֤leke shshelomoh֙ zaha֔b veko֗l kּele֛y bּeֽyt-ya֥'ar halּeban֖on zaha֣b sag֑ur 'e֣yn kּe֗sep necheshsha֛b bּiyme֥y shshelomo֖h lime'ֽumah׃
Edified Edition (EDE)All King Solomon’s drinking vessels were of gold, and all the vessels of the House of the Forest of Lebanon were of pure gold. Not one was of silver, for this was accounted as nothing in the days of Solomon.

וְ֠כֹל כְּלֵ֞י מַשְׁקֵ֨ה הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה֙ זָהָ֔ב וְכֹ֗ל כְּלֵ֛י בֵּֽית־יַ֥עַר הַלְּבָנ֖וֹן זָהָ֣ב סָג֑וּר אֵ֣ין כֶּ֗סֶף נֶחְשָׁ֛ב בִּימֵ֥י שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה לִמְאֽוּמָה׃

21
Phonetic (Hebrew): kּiֽy-'oniyּ֤ot lamּe֨leke֙ holek֣ot tּareshshi֔yshsh 'i֖m 'abede֣y chura֑m 'achat֩ leshshal֨oshsh shshani֜ym tּab֣o'nah ׀ 'oniyּ֣ot tּareshshi֗yshsh noֽshse'ot֙ zaha֣b vake֔sep shshenehabּi֥ym veqopi֖ym vetukּiyּiֽym׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)For the king’s ships went to Tarshish with the servants of Huram; once every three years the ships of Tarshish came bringing gold, silver, ivory, apes, and peacocks.

כִּֽי־אֳנִיּ֤וֹת לַמֶּ֨לֶךְ֙ הֹלְכ֣וֹת תַּרְשִׁ֔ישׁ עִ֖ם עַבְדֵ֣י חוּרָ֑ם אַחַת֩ לְשָׁל֨וֹשׁ שָׁנִ֜ים תָּב֣וֹאנָה ׀ אֳנִיּ֣וֹת תַּרְשִׁ֗ישׁ נֹֽשְׂאוֹת֙ זָהָ֣ב וָכֶ֔סֶף שֶׁנְהַבִּ֥ים וְקוֹפִ֖ים וְתוּכִּיִּֽים׃פ

22
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּigedּal֙ hamּe֣leke shshelomo֔h mikּo֖l maleke֣y ha'a֑retz le'o֖shsher vechakemaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)So King Solomon surpassed all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom.

וַיִּגְדַּל֙ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה מִכֹּ֖ל מַלְכֵ֣י הָאָ֑רֶץ לְעֹ֖שֶׁר וְחָכְמָֽה׃

23
Phonetic (Hebrew): vekol֙ maleke֣y ha'a֔retz mebaqeshshi֖ym 'et-pּene֣y shshelomo֑h lishshemo֨'a֙ 'et-chakemat֔o 'ashsher-nata֥n ha'elohi֖ym bּelibּֽo׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And all the kings of the earth sought the presence of Solomon to hear his wisdom, which God had put in his heart.

וְכֹל֙ מַלְכֵ֣י הָאָ֔רֶץ מְבַקְשִׁ֖ים אֶת־פְּנֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה לִשְׁמֹ֨עַ֙ אֶת־חָכְמָת֔וֹ אֲשֶׁר־נָתַ֥ן הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים בְּלִבּֽוֹ׃

24
Phonetic (Hebrew): vehe֣m mebiy'i֣ym 'i֣yshsh minechat֡o kּele֣y kesep֩ ukele֨y zaha֤b ushselamot֙ ne֣shsheq ubeshsami֔ym susi֖ym uperadi֑ym dּebar-shshana֖h bּeshshanaֽh׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)Each man brought his present: articles of silver and gold, garments, armour, spices, horses, and mules, at a set rate year by year.

וְהֵ֣ם מְבִיאִ֣ים אִ֣ישׁ מִנְחָת֡וֹ כְּלֵ֣י כֶסֶף֩ וּכְלֵ֨י זָהָ֤ב וּשְׂלָמוֹת֙ נֵ֣שֶׁק וּבְשָׂמִ֔ים סוּסִ֖ים וּפְרָדִ֑ים דְּבַר־שָׁנָ֖ה בְּשָׁנָֽה׃פ

25
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayehi֨y lishshelomo֜h 'arebּa'at֩ 'alapi֨ym 'uֽrey֤ot susiym֙ umarekּab֔ot ushsheneym-'ashsa֥r 'e֖lep pּarashshi֑ym vayּanּiychem֙ bּe'are֣y hare֔keb ve'im-hamּe֖leke bּiyrushshalaiֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen whom he stationed in the chariot cities and with the king at Jerusalem.

וַיְהִ֨י לִשְׁלֹמֹ֜ה אַרְבַּעַת֩ אֲלָפִ֨ים אֻֽרְי֤וֹת סוּסִים֙ וּמַרְכָּב֔וֹת וּשְׁנֵים־עָשָׂ֥ר אֶ֖לֶף פָּרָשִׁ֑ים וַיַּנִּיחֵם֙ בְּעָרֵ֣י הָרֶ֔כֶב וְעִם־הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayehi֥y moshshe֖l bּekal-hamּelaki֑ym min-hanּahar֙ ve'ad-'e֣retz pּelishshetּi֔ym ve'a֖d gּeb֥ul mitzeraֽyim׃
Edified Edition (EDE)He reigned over all the kings from the River Euphrates to the land of the Philistines, and as far as the border of Egypt.

וַיְהִ֥י מוֹשֵׁ֖ל בְּכָל־הַמְּלָכִ֑ים מִן־הַנָּהָר֙ וְעַד־אֶ֣רֶץ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וְעַ֖ד גְּב֥וּל מִצְרָֽיִם׃

27
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּitּe֨n hamּe֧leke 'et-hakּe֛sep bּiyrushshala֖im kּa'abani֑ym ve'e֣t ha'arazi֗ym nata֛n kּashshּiqemi֥ym 'ashsher-bּashshּepela֖h laroֽb׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The king made silver as common in Jerusalem as stones, and he made cedar trees as abundant as the sycamores which are in the lowlands.

וַיִּתֵּ֨ן הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ אֶת־הַכֶּ֛סֶף בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֖ם כָּאֲבָנִ֑ים וְאֵ֣ת הָאֲרָזִ֗ים נָתַ֛ן כַּשִּׁקְמִ֥ים אֲשֶׁר־בַּשְּׁפֵלָ֖ה לָרֹֽב׃

28
Phonetic (Hebrew): umotziy'i֨ym susi֧ym mimּitzera֛yim lishshelomo֖h umikּal-ha'aratzֽot׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And they brought horses to Solomon from Egypt and from all lands.

וּמוֹצִיאִ֨ים סוּסִ֧ים מִמִּצְרַ֛יִם לִשְׁלֹמֹ֖ה וּמִכָּל־הָאֲרָצֽוֹת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ushshe'ar֙ dּibere֣y shshelomo֔h hari'shshoni֖ym veha'acharoni֑ym halo'-he֣m kּetubi֗ym 'al-dּiberey֙ nata֣n hanּabi֔y ve'al-nebu'a֞t 'achiyּa֣h hashshּiֽyloni֗y ubachazot֙ y'dy ye'edּ֣o hachoze֔h 'al-yarabe'a֖m bּen-nebaֽt׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Now the rest of the acts of Solomon, first and last, are they not written in the book of Nathan the prophet, in the prophecy of Ahijah the Shilonite, and in the visions of Iddo the seer concerning Jeroboam the son of Nebat?

וּשְׁאָר֙ דִּבְרֵ֣י שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה הָרִאשֹׁנִ֖ים וְהָאֲחֲרוֹנִ֑ים הֲלֹא־הֵ֣ם כְּתוּבִ֗ים עַל־דִּבְרֵי֙ נָתָ֣ן הַנָּבִ֔יא וְעַל־נְבוּאַ֞ת אֲחִיָּ֣ה הַשִּֽׁילוֹנִ֗י וּבַחֲזוֹת֙ יעדי יֶעְדּ֣וֹ הַחֹזֶ֔ה עַל־יָרָבְעָ֖ם בֶּן־נְבָֽט׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּimelo֨ke shshelomo֧h biֽyrushshala֛im 'al-kּal-yishsera'e֖l 'arebּa'i֥ym shshanaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Solomon reigned in Jerusalem over all Israel forty years.

וַיִּמְלֹ֨ךְ שְׁלֹמֹ֧ה בִֽירוּשָׁלִַ֛ם עַל־כָּל־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אַרְבָּעִ֥ים שָׁנָֽה׃

31
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּishshekּa֤b shshelomoh֙ 'im-'abota֔yv vaֽyּiqebּeru֔hu bּe'i֖yr dּavi֣yd 'abi֑yv vayּimelo֛ke rechabe'a֥m bּen֖o tּachetּaֽyv׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Solomon rested with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David his father. And Rehoboam his son reigned in his place.

וַיִּשְׁכַּ֤ב שְׁלֹמֹה֙ עִם־אֲבֹתָ֔יו וַֽיִּקְבְּרֻ֔הוּ בְּעִ֖יר דָּוִ֣יד אָבִ֑יו וַיִּמְלֹ֛ךְ רְחַבְעָ֥ם בְּנ֖וֹ תַּחְתָּֽיו׃פ
