Chapter 3
1
Phonetic (Hebrew): nebukadenetzּa֣r malekּa֗ 'abad֙ tzele֣m dּiֽy-deha֔b rumehּ֙ 'amּi֣yn shshitּi֔yn pּetaye֖hּ 'amּi֣yn shshi֑t 'aqiymehּ֙ bּebiqe'a֣t dּura֔ bּimediyna֖t bּabeֽl׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura, in the province of Babylon.

נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר מַלְכָּ֗א עֲבַד֙ צְלֵ֣ם דִּֽי־דְהַ֔ב רוּמֵהּ֙ אַמִּ֣ין שִׁתִּ֔ין פְּתָיֵ֖הּ אַמִּ֣ין שִׁ֑ת אֲקִימֵהּ֙ בְּבִקְעַ֣ת דּוּרָ֔א בִּמְדִינַ֖ת בָּבֶֽל׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): unebukadenetzּa֣r malekּa֡ shshela֡ch lemikena֣shsh ׀ laֽ'achashshedּarepּenayּa֡ sigenayּa֣ uֽpachavata֡ 'adaregּazerayּa'֩ geda֨berayּa֤ dּetaberayּa'֙ tּipetּaye֔ veko֖l shshiletone֣y mediֽynata֑ lemete'֙ lachanukּa֣t tzalema֔ dּi֥y haqe֖ym nebukadenetzּa֥r malekּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

וּנְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר מַלְכָּ֡א שְׁלַ֡ח לְמִכְנַ֣שׁ ׀ לַֽאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֡א סִגְנַיָּ֣א וּֽפַחֲוָתָ֡א אֲדַרְגָּזְרַיָּא֩ גְדָ֨בְרַיָּ֤א דְּתָבְרַיָּא֙ תִּפְתָּיֵ֔א וְכֹ֖ל שִׁלְטֹנֵ֣י מְדִֽינָתָ֑א לְמֵתֵא֙ לַחֲנֻכַּ֣ת צַלְמָ֔א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ים נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר מַלְכָּֽא׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּe'da֡yin miֽtekּanּeshshi֡yn 'achashshedּarepּenayּa֡ sigenayּa֣ uֽpachavata֡ 'adaregּazerayּa֣ gedaberayּa'֩ dּeta֨berayּa֜ tּipetּaye֗ vekol֙ shshiletone֣y mediֽynata֔ lachanukּa֣t tzalema֔ dּi֥y haqe֖ym nebukadenetzּa֣r malekּa֑ vq'myn veqaֽyemiyn֙ laqobe֣l tzalema֔ dּi֥y haqe֖ym nebukadenetzּaֽr׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered together to the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.

בֵּאדַ֡יִן מִֽתְכַּנְּשִׁ֡ין אֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֡א סִגְנַיָּ֣א וּֽפַחֲוָתָ֡א אֲדַרְגָּזְרַיָּ֣א גְדָבְרַיָּא֩ דְּתָ֨בְרַיָּ֜א תִּפְתָּיֵ֗א וְכֹל֙ שִׁלְטֹנֵ֣י מְדִֽינָתָ֔א לַחֲנֻכַּ֣ת צַלְמָ֔א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ים נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר מַלְכָּ֑א וקאמין וְקָֽיְמִין֙ לָקֳבֵ֣ל צַלְמָ֔א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ים נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּֽר׃

4
Phonetic (Hebrew): vekaroza֖ qare֣ becha֑yil lek֤on 'aֽmeriyn֙ 'aֽmemayּa֔ 'umּayּa֖ velishshּanayּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then an herald cried aloud, "To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,"

וְכָרוֹזָ֖א קָרֵ֣א בְחָ֑יִל לְכ֤וֹן אָֽמְרִין֙ עַֽמְמַיָּ֔א אֻמַּיָּ֖א וְלִשָּׁנַיָּֽא׃

5
Phonetic (Hebrew): bּe'idּana֡ dּiֽy-tishsheme'֡un qa֣l qarena֣ ma֠shsheroqiyta qytrvs qater֨os sabּeka֤ pּesanetּeriyn֙ sumepּo֣neya֔h veko֖l zene֣y zemara֑ tּipּel֤un vetisegּedun֙ letze֣lem dּahaba֔ dּi֥y haqe֖ym nebukadenetzּa֥r malekּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"That at what time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, you fall down and worship the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king has set up:"

בְּעִדָּנָ֡א דִּֽי־תִשְׁמְע֡וּן קָ֣ל קַרְנָ֣א מַ֠שְׁרוֹקִיתָא קיתרוס קַתְר֨וֹס סַבְּכָ֤א פְּסַנְתֵּרִין֙ סוּמְפֹּ֣נְיָ֔ה וְכֹ֖ל זְנֵ֣י זְמָרָ֑א תִּפְּל֤וּן וְתִסְגְּדוּן֙ לְצֶ֣לֶם דַּהֲבָ֔א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ים נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר מַלְכָּֽא׃

6
Phonetic (Hebrew): uman-dּiy-la֥ yipּe֖l veyisegּu֑d bּahּ-shsha'ata֣ yitereme֔ legֽo'-'atּ֥un nura֖ yaqiֽdetּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"And whoever falls not down and worships shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace."

וּמַן־דִּי־לָ֥א יִפֵּ֖ל וְיִסְגֻּ֑ד בַּהּ־שַׁעֲתָ֣א יִתְרְמֵ֔א לְגֽוֹא־אַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃

7
Phonetic (Hebrew): kּal-qobe֣l dּena֡h bּehּ-zimena֡ kּedi֣y shshaֽme'i֣yn kּaֽl-'amemayּa֡ qa֣l qarena'֩ mashsher֨oqiyta֜ qytrs qater֤os shsabּeka'֙ pּesaneteri֔yn veko֖l zene֣y zemara֑ naֽpeli֨yn kּaֽl-'aֽmemayּa֜ 'umayּa֣ velishshּanayּa֗ saֽgediyn֙ letze֣lem dּahaba֔ dּi֥y haqe֖ym nebukadenetzּa֥r malekּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

כָּל־קֳבֵ֣ל דְּנָ֡ה בֵּהּ־זִמְנָ֡א כְּדִ֣י שָֽׁמְעִ֣ין כָּֽל־עַמְמַיָּ֡א קָ֣ל קַרְנָא֩ מַשְׁר֨וֹקִיתָ֜א קיתרס קַתְר֤וֹס שַׂבְּכָא֙ פְּסַנְטֵרִ֔ין וְכֹ֖ל זְנֵ֣י זְמָרָ֑א נָֽפְלִ֨ין כָּֽל־עַֽמְמַיָּ֜א אֻמַיָּ֣א וְלִשָּׁנַיָּ֗א סָֽגְדִין֙ לְצֶ֣לֶם דַּהֲבָ֔א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ים נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֥ר מַלְכָּֽא׃

8
Phonetic (Hebrew): kּal-qobe֤l dּenah֙ bּehּ-zimena֔ qeri֖bu gּuberi֣yn kּashsedּa'i֑yn va'aka֥lu qaretzeyh֖on dּi֥y yehudayeֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Wherefore at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.

כָּל־קֳבֵ֤ל דְּנָה֙ בֵּהּ־זִמְנָ֔א קְרִ֖בוּ גֻּבְרִ֣ין כַּשְׂדָּאִ֑ין וַאֲכַ֥לוּ קַרְצֵיה֖וֹן דִּ֥י יְהוּדָיֵֽא׃

9
Phonetic (Hebrew): ano֙ ve'a֣meri֔yn linebukadenetzּa֖r malekּa֑ malekּa֖ le'alemi֥yn cheyiֽy׃
Edified Edition (EDE)They spoke and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, "O king, live forever."

עֲנוֹ֙ וְאָ֣מְרִ֔ין לִנְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֖ר מַלְכָּ֑א מַלְכָּ֖א לְעָלְמִ֥ין חֱיִֽי׃

10
Phonetic (Hebrew): nth 'a֣netּe malekּa'֮ shsa֣metּa tּe'em֒ dּi֣y kal-'ena֡shsh dּiֽy-yishshema֡ qa֣l qarena֣ ma֠shsheroqiyta qytrs qater֨os shsabּeka֤ pesanetּeriyn֙ vsypnyh vesupּo֣neya֔h veko֖l zene֣y zemara֑ yipּe֥l veyisegּu֖d letze֥lem dּahabaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"You, O king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, shall fall down and worship the golden image:"

אנתה אַ֣נְתְּ מַלְכָּא֮ שָׂ֣מְתָּ טְּעֵם֒ דִּ֣י כָל־אֱנָ֡שׁ דִּֽי־יִשְׁמַ֡ע קָ֣ל קַרְנָ֣א מַ֠שְׁרֹקִיתָא קיתרס קַתְר֨וֹס שַׂבְּכָ֤א פְסַנְתֵּרִין֙ וסיפניה וְסוּפֹּ֣נְיָ֔ה וְכֹ֖ל זְנֵ֣י זְמָרָ֑א יִפֵּ֥ל וְיִסְגֻּ֖ד לְצֶ֥לֶם דַּהֲבָֽא׃

11
Phonetic (Hebrew): uman-dּiy-la֥ yipּe֖l veyisegּu֑d yitereme֕ legֽo'-'atּ֥un nura֖ yaqiֽdetּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"And whoever falls not down and worships, that he should be cast into the midst of a burning fiery furnace."

וּמַן־דִּי־לָ֥א יִפֵּ֖ל וְיִסְגֻּ֑ד יִתְרְמֵ֕א לְגֽוֹא־אַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃

12
Phonetic (Hebrew): iyta֞y gּuberi֣yn yehuda'yi֗n dּiֽy-manּi֤yta yatehon֙ 'al-'abiydat֙ mediyna֣t bּabe֔l shshadera֥ke meyshsha֖ke va'abe֣d neg֑o gּuberayּa֣ 'ilּe֗ke la'-shsa֨mֽu 'lyk 'ala֤ke malekּa'֙ te'e֔m l'lhyk leֽ'lahake֙ la֣ palechi֔yn uletze֧lem dּahaba֛ dּi֥y haqe֖ymetּa la֥ sagediֽyn׃s
Edified Edition (EDE)"There are certain Jews whom you hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded you: they serve not your gods, nor worship the golden image which you hast set up."

אִיתַ֞י גֻּבְרִ֣ין יְהוּדָאיִ֗ן דִּֽי־מַנִּ֤יתָ יָתְהוֹן֙ עַל־עֲבִידַת֙ מְדִינַ֣ת בָּבֶ֔ל שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֖ךְ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֗ךְ לָא־שָׂ֨מֽוּ עליך עֲלָ֤ךְ מַלְכָּא֙ טְעֵ֔ם לאלהיך לֵֽאלָהָךְ֙ לָ֣א פָלְחִ֔ין וּלְצֶ֧לֶם דַּהֲבָ֛א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ימְתָּ לָ֥א סָגְדִֽין׃ס

13
Phonetic (Hebrew): bּe'da֤yin nebukadenetzּar֙ bּirega֣z vachama֔h 'amar֙ lehayetaya֔h leshshadera֥ke meyshsha֖ke va'abe֣d neg֑o bּe'da֨yin֙ gּuberayּa֣ 'ilּe֔ke heyta֖yu qoda֥m malekּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.

בֵּאדַ֤יִן נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּר֙ בִּרְגַ֣ז וַחֲמָ֔ה אֲמַר֙ לְהַיְתָיָ֔ה לְשַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֖ךְ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ בֵּאדַ֨יִן֙ גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֔ךְ הֵיתָ֖יוּ קֳדָ֥ם מַלְכָּֽא׃

14
Phonetic (Hebrew): ane֤h nebuֽkadenetzּar֙ ve'ama֣r leh֔on hatzedּa֕ shshadera֥ke meyshsha֖ke va'abe֣d neg֑o leֽ'laha֗y la֤ 'iֽyteykon֙ pּaֽlechi֔yn uletze֧lem dּahaba֛ dּi֥y haqe֖ymet la֥ saֽgediֽyn׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Nebuchadnezzar spoke and said to them, "Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, do not you serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have set up?"

עָנֵ֤ה נְבֻֽכַדְנֶצַּר֙ וְאָמַ֣ר לְה֔וֹן הַצְדָּ֕א שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֖ךְ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ לֵֽאלָהַ֗י לָ֤א אִֽיתֵיכוֹן֙ פָּֽלְחִ֔ין וּלְצֶ֧לֶם דַּהֲבָ֛א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ימֶת לָ֥א סָֽגְדִֽין׃

15
Phonetic (Hebrew): kּe'a֞n he֧n 'iֽyteyk֣on 'atiydi֗yn dּi֣y be'idּana֡ dּiֽy-tishsheme'֡un qa֣l qarena֣ mashsheroqiyta֣ qytrs qater֣os shsabּeka֡ pּesanetּeriyn֩ vesumepּo֨neya֜h veko֣l ׀ zene֣y zemara֗ tּipּel֣un vetisegּedun֮ letzalema֣ diֽy-'abedet֒ vehen֙ la֣ tisegּed֔un bּahּ-shsha'ata֣h titerem֔on legֽo'-'atּ֥un nura֖ yaqiֽdetּa֑ uman-h֣u 'ela֔hּ dּe֥y yeshsheֽyzebinek֖on min-yedaֽy׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"Now if you be ready that at what time you hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of musick, you fall down and worship the image which I have made; well: but if you worship not, you shall be cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that God that shall deliver you out of my hands?"

כְּעַ֞ן הֵ֧ן אִֽיתֵיכ֣וֹן עֲתִידִ֗ין דִּ֣י בְעִדָּנָ֡א דִּֽי־תִשְׁמְע֡וּן קָ֣ל קַרְנָ֣א מַשְׁרוֹקִיתָ֣א קיתרס קַתְר֣וֹס שַׂבְּכָ֡א פְּסַנְתֵּרִין֩ וְסוּמְפֹּ֨נְיָ֜ה וְכֹ֣ל ׀ זְנֵ֣י זְמָרָ֗א תִּפְּל֣וּן וְתִסְגְּדוּן֮ לְצַלְמָ֣א דִֽי־עַבְדֵת֒ וְהֵן֙ לָ֣א תִסְגְּד֔וּן בַּהּ־שַׁעֲתָ֣ה תִתְרְמ֔וֹן לְגֽוֹא־אַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א יָקִֽדְתָּ֑א וּמַן־ה֣וּא אֱלָ֔הּ דֵּ֥י יְשֵֽׁיזְבִנְכ֖וֹן מִן־יְדָֽי׃

16
Phonetic (Hebrew): an֗o shshadera֤ke meyshshake֙ va'abe֣d neg֔o ve'ameri֖yn lemalekּa֑ nebֽukadenetzּa֔r laֽ'-chashshechi֨yn 'ana֧chenah 'al-dּena֛h pּitega֖m lahatabutaֽke׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, "O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer you in this matter."

עֲנ֗וֹ שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ וְאָמְרִ֖ין לְמַלְכָּ֑א נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֔ר לָֽא־חַשְׁחִ֨ין אֲנַ֧חְנָה עַל־דְּנָ֛ה פִּתְגָ֖ם לַהֲתָבוּתָֽךְ׃

17
Phonetic (Hebrew): he֣n 'iyta֗y 'elaha֨na'֙ dּiֽy-'ana֣chena paֽlechi֔yn yaki֖l leshsheyzabuta֑na min-'atּ֨un nura֧ yaqiֽdetּa֛ umin-yeda֥ke malekּa֖ yeshsheyziֽb׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us out of your hand, O king."

הֵ֣ן אִיתַ֗י אֱלָהַ֨נָא֙ דִּֽי־אֲנַ֣חְנָא פָֽלְחִ֔ין יָכִ֖ל לְשֵׁיזָבוּתַ֑נָא מִן־אַתּ֨וּן נוּרָ֧א יָקִֽדְתָּ֛א וּמִן־יְדָ֥ךְ מַלְכָּ֖א יְשֵׁיזִֽב׃

18
Phonetic (Hebrew): vehe֣n la֔ yedi֥y'a leheve'-la֖ke malekּa֑ dּi֤y l'lhyk leֽ'lahake֙ la'-'ytyn 'iyta֣na paֽlechi֔yn uletze֧lem dּahaba֛ dּi֥y haqe֖ymetּa la֥ nisegּuֽd׃s
Edified Edition (EDE)"But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you hast set up."

וְהֵ֣ן לָ֔א יְדִ֥יעַ לֶהֱוֵא־לָ֖ךְ מַלְכָּ֑א דִּ֤י לאלהיך לֵֽאלָהָךְ֙ לָא־איתינא אִיתַ֣נָא פָֽלְחִ֔ין וּלְצֶ֧לֶם דַּהֲבָ֛א דִּ֥י הֲקֵ֖ימְתָּ לָ֥א נִסְגֻּֽד׃ס

19
Phonetic (Hebrew): bּe'da֨yin nebukadenetzּa֜r hitemeli֣y chema֗ utzele֤m 'anepּ֨ohiy֙ 'shtnv 'eshshetּanּi֔y 'al-shshadera֥ke meyshsha֖ke va'abe֣d neg֑o 'ane֤h ve'amar֙ lemeze֣ le'atּuna֔ cha֨d-shshibe'a֔h 'a֛l dּi֥y chaze֖h lemezeyeֽhּ׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.

בֵּאדַ֨יִן נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֜ר הִתְמְלִ֣י חֱמָ֗א וּצְלֵ֤ם אַנְפּ֨וֹהִי֙ אשתנו אֶשְׁתַּנִּ֔י עַל־שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֖ךְ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ עָנֵ֤ה וְאָמַר֙ לְמֵזֵ֣א לְאַתּוּנָ֔א חַ֨ד־שִׁבְעָ֔ה עַ֛ל דִּ֥י חֲזֵ֖ה לְמֵזְיֵֽהּ׃

20
Phonetic (Hebrew): uleguberi֤yn gּibּaֽrey-cha֨yil֙ dּi֣y bechayele֔hּ 'amar֙ lekapּata֔h leshshadera֥ke meyshsha֖ke va'abe֣d neg֑o lemireme֕ le'atּ֥un nura֖ yaqiֽdetּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And he commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.

וּלְגֻבְרִ֤ין גִּבָּֽרֵי־חַ֨יִל֙ דִּ֣י בְחַיְלֵ֔הּ אֲמַר֙ לְכַפָּתָ֔ה לְשַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֖ךְ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ לְמִרְמֵ֕א לְאַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃

21
Phonetic (Hebrew): bּe'da֜yin gּuberayּa֣ 'ilּe֗ke kּepi֨tu֙ bּesarebּaleyhon֙ ptyshyhvn pּatּeshsheyh֔on vekarebּelateh֖on ulebushsheyh֑on uremi֕yv legֽo'-'atּ֥un nura֖ yaqiֽdetּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then these men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

בֵּאדַ֜יִן גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֗ךְ כְּפִ֨תוּ֙ בְּסַרְבָּלֵיהוֹן֙ פטישיהון פַּטְּשֵׁיה֔וֹן וְכַרְבְּלָתְה֖וֹן וּלְבֻשֵׁיה֑וֹן וּרְמִ֕יו לְגֽוֹא־אַתּ֥וּן נוּרָ֖א יָקִֽדְתָּֽא׃

22
Phonetic (Hebrew): kּal-qobe֣l dּena֗h min-dּi֞y milּa֤t malekּa'֙ machetzepa֔h ve'atּuna֖ 'eze֣h yatּi֑yra gּuberayּa֣ 'ilּe֗ke dּi֤y hasּi֨qu֙ leshshadera֤ke meyshshake֙ va'abe֣d neg֔o qatּi֣l himּ֔on shshebiyba֖ dּi֥y nuraֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Therefore because the king's commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.

כָּל־קֳבֵ֣ל דְּנָ֗ה מִן־דִּ֞י מִלַּ֤ת מַלְכָּא֙ מַחְצְפָ֔ה וְאַתּוּנָ֖א אֵזֵ֣ה יַתִּ֑ירָא גֻּבְרַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֗ךְ דִּ֤י הַסִּ֨קוּ֙ לְשַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ קַטִּ֣ל הִמּ֔וֹן שְׁבִיבָ֖א דִּ֥י נוּרָֽא׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): veguberayּa֤ 'ilּeke֙ tּela֣tּeh֔on shshadera֥ke meyshsha֖ke va'abe֣d neg֑o nepa֛lu legֽo'-'atּun-nura֥ yaֽqidetּa֖ mekapּetiֽyn׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.

וְגֻבְרַיָּ֤א אִלֵּךְ֙ תְּלָ֣תֵּה֔וֹן שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֖ךְ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֑וֹ נְפַ֛לוּ לְגֽוֹא־אַתּוּן־נוּרָ֥א יָֽקִדְתָּ֖א מְכַפְּתִֽין׃פ

Phonetic (Hebrew): eda֨yin֙ nebukadenetzּa֣r malekּa֔ tּeva֖hּ veqa֣m bּehitebּehala֑h 'ane֨h ve'ama֜r lehadּaֽber֗ohiy hala'֩ guberi֨yn tּelata֜ reme֤yna lego'-nura'֙ mekapּeti֔yn 'ana֤yin ve'ameriyn֙ lemalekּa֔ yatzּiyba֖ malekּaֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonished, and rose up in haste, and spoke, and said to his counsellors, "Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the fire?" They answered and said to the king, "True, O king."

אֱדַ֨יִן֙ נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר מַלְכָּ֔א תְּוַ֖הּ וְקָ֣ם בְּהִתְבְּהָלָ֑ה עָנֵ֨ה וְאָמַ֜ר לְהַדָּֽבְר֗וֹהִי הֲלָא֩ גֻבְרִ֨ין תְּלָתָ֜א רְמֵ֤ינָא לְגוֹא־נוּרָא֙ מְכַפְּתִ֔ין עָנַ֤יִן וְאָמְרִין֙ לְמַלְכָּ֔א יַצִּיבָ֖א מַלְכָּֽא׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ane֣h ve'ama֗r haֽ'-'ana֨h chaze֜h gּuberi֣yn 'arebּe'a֗h shshera֨yin֙ maheleki֣yn bּegֽo'-nura֔ vachaba֖l la'-'iyta֣y bּeh֑on verevehּ֙ dּi֣y rby'y reֽbiy'a'a֔h dּame֖h lebar-'elahiֽyn׃s
Edified Edition (EDE)He answered and said, "Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God."

עָנֵ֣ה וְאָמַ֗ר הָֽא־אֲנָ֨ה חָזֵ֜ה גֻּבְרִ֣ין אַרְבְּעָ֗ה שְׁרַ֨יִן֙ מַהְלְכִ֣ין בְּגֽוֹא־נוּרָ֔א וַחֲבָ֖ל לָא־אִיתַ֣י בְּה֑וֹן וְרֵוֵהּ֙ דִּ֣י רביעיא רְֽבִיעָאָ֔ה דָּמֵ֖ה לְבַר־אֱלָהִֽין׃ס

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּe'da֜yin qere֣b nebukadenetzּa֗r litera'֮ 'atּ֣un nura֣ yaqiֽdetּa'֒ 'ane֣h ve'ama֗r shshadera֨ke meyshsha֧ke va'abed-neg֛o 'abed֛ohiy dּiֽy-'elaha֥ 'ly 'ilּa'a֖h pּu֣qu ve'et֑o bּe'da֣yin naֽpeqi֗yn shshadera֥ke meyshsha֛ke va'abe֥d neg֖o min-gּ֥o nuraֽ'׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spoke, and said, "Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the most high God, come forth, and come Here." Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth of the midst of the fire.

בֵּאדַ֜יִן קְרֵ֣ב נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֗ר לִתְרַע֮ אַתּ֣וּן נוּרָ֣א יָקִֽדְתָּא֒ עָנֵ֣ה וְאָמַ֗ר שַׁדְרַ֨ךְ מֵישַׁ֧ךְ וַעֲבֵד־נְג֛וֹ עַבְד֛וֹהִי דִּֽי־אֱלָהָ֥א עליא עִלָּאָ֖ה פֻּ֣קוּ וֶאֱת֑וֹ בֵּאדַ֣יִן נָֽפְקִ֗ין שַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֛ךְ וַעֲבֵ֥ד נְג֖וֹ מִן־גּ֥וֹא נוּרָֽא׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): u֠miֽtekּanּeshshiyn 'achashshedּarepּenayּa֞ sigenayּa֣ upachavata'֮ vehadּabere֣y malekּa'֒ chaza֣yin leguberayּa֣ 'ilּe֡ke dּiy֩ laֽ'-shshele֨t nura֜ bּegeshshemeh֗on ushse'a֤r reֽ'shshehon֙ la֣ hitechara֔ke vesarebּaleyh֖on la֣ shshen֑o vere֣ycha n֔ur la֥ 'ada֖t bּehֽon׃
Edified Edition (EDE)And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king's counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

וּ֠מִֽתְכַּנְּשִׁין אֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנַיָּ֞א סִגְנַיָּ֣א וּפַחֲוָתָא֮ וְהַדָּבְרֵ֣י מַלְכָּא֒ חָזַ֣יִן לְגֻבְרַיָּ֣א אִלֵּ֡ךְ דִּי֩ לָֽא־שְׁלֵ֨ט נוּרָ֜א בְּגֶשְׁמְה֗וֹן וּשְׂעַ֤ר רֵֽאשְׁהוֹן֙ לָ֣א הִתְחָרַ֔ךְ וְסָרְבָּלֵיה֖וֹן לָ֣א שְׁנ֑וֹ וְרֵ֣יחַ נ֔וּר לָ֥א עֲדָ֖ת בְּהֽוֹן׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ane֨h nebֽukadenetzּa֜r ve'ama֗r bּeri֤yke 'elahahon֙ dּiֽy-shshadera֤ke meyshshake֙ va'abe֣d neg֔o dּiֽy-shshela֤ch male'akehּ֙ veshsheyzi֣b le'abed֔ohiy dּi֥y hiterechi֖tzu 'al֑ohiy umilּa֤t malekּa'֙ shshanּi֔yv viyha֣bu gshmyhvn geshshemeh֗on dּi֠y laֽ'-yipelech֤un velaֽ'-yisegּedun֙ lekal-'ela֔hּ lahe֖n le'laֽhahֽon׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Nebuchadnezzar spoke, and said, "Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who has sent His angel, and delivered His servants that trusted in Him, and have changed the king's word, and yielded their bodies, that they might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God."

עָנֵ֨ה נְבֽוּכַדְנֶצַּ֜ר וְאָמַ֗ר בְּרִ֤יךְ אֱלָהֲהוֹן֙ דִּֽי־שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹ דִּֽי־שְׁלַ֤ח מַלְאֲכֵהּ֙ וְשֵׁיזִ֣ב לְעַבְד֔וֹהִי דִּ֥י הִתְרְחִ֖צוּ עֲל֑וֹהִי וּמִלַּ֤ת מַלְכָּא֙ שַׁנִּ֔יו וִיהַ֣בוּ גשמיהון גֶשְׁמְה֗וֹן דִּ֠י לָֽא־יִפְלְח֤וּן וְלָֽא־יִסְגְּדוּן֙ לְכָל־אֱלָ֔הּ לָהֵ֖ן לֵאלָֽהֲהֽוֹן׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): uminּiy֮ shsi֣ym te'em֒ dּiy֩ kal-'a֨m 'umּa֜h velishshּa֗n dּiֽy-ye'ma֤r shlh shshalu֙ 'a֣l 'elahah֗on dּiֽy-shshadera֤ke meyshshake֙ va'abe֣d neg֔o hadּami֣yn yite'abe֔d ubayete֖hּ nevali֣y yishshetּaue֑h kּal-qobe֗l dּi֣y la֤ 'iytay֙ 'ela֣h 'achora֔n dּiֽy-yikּu֥l lehatzּala֖h kּidenaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"Therefore I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak anything amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other God that can deliver after this sort."

וּמִנִּי֮ שִׂ֣ים טְעֵם֒ דִּי֩ כָל־עַ֨ם אֻמָּ֜ה וְלִשָּׁ֗ן דִּֽי־יֵאמַ֤ר שלה שָׁלוּ֙ עַ֣ל אֱלָהֲה֗וֹן דִּֽי־שַׁדְרַ֤ךְ מֵישַׁךְ֙ וַעֲבֵ֣ד נְג֔וֹא הַדָּמִ֣ין יִתְעֲבֵ֔ד וּבַיְתֵ֖הּ נְוָלִ֣י יִשְׁתַּוֵּ֑ה כָּל־קֳבֵ֗ל דִּ֣י לָ֤א אִיתַי֙ אֱלָ֣ה אָחֳרָ֔ן דִּֽי־יִכֻּ֥ל לְהַצָּלָ֖ה כִּדְנָֽה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): bּe'da֣yin malekּa֗ hatzela֛ch leshshadera֥ke meyshsha֛ke va'abe֥d neg֖o bּimediyna֥t bּabeֽl׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

בֵּאדַ֣יִן מַלְכָּ֗א הַצְלַ֛ח לְשַׁדְרַ֥ךְ מֵישַׁ֛ךְ וַעֲבֵ֥ד נְג֖וֹ בִּמְדִינַ֥ת בָּבֶֽל׃פ

31

נְבוּכַדְנֶצַּ֣ר מַלְכָּ֗א לְֽכָל־עַֽמְמַיָּ֞א אֻמַיָּ֧א וְלִשָּׁנַיָּ֛א דִּֽי־דארין דָיְרִ֥ין בְּכָל־אַרְעָ֖א שְׁלָמְכ֥וֹן יִשְׂגֵּֽא׃

32

אָֽתַיָּא֙ וְתִמְהַיָּ֔א דִּ֚י עֲבַ֣ד עִמִּ֔י אֱלָהָ֖א עליא עִלָּאָ֑ה שְׁפַ֥ר קָֽדָמַ֖י לְהַחֲוָיָֽה׃

33

אָת֨וֹהִי֙ כְּמָ֣ה רַבְרְבִ֔ין וְתִמְה֖וֹהִי כְּמָ֣ה תַקִּיפִ֑ין מַלְכוּתֵהּ֙ מַלְכ֣וּת עָלַ֔ם וְשָׁלְטָנֵ֖הּ עִם־דָּ֥ר וְדָֽר׃
