Chapter 10
1
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֤'mer yehvah֙ 'el-moshshe֔h bּo֖ 'el-pּare'o֑h kּiֽy-'ani֞y hikebּa֤detּiy 'et-libּo֙ ve'et-le֣b 'abada֔yv lema֗'an shshiti֛y 'otota֥y 'e֖lּeh bּeqirebּֽo׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh. [1] (I have hardened his heart) and the hearts of his officials so that I can perform these miraculous signs among them."

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה בֹּ֖א אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֑ה כִּֽי־אֲנִ֞י הִכְבַּ֤דְתִּי אֶת־לִבּוֹ֙ וְאֶת־לֵ֣ב עֲבָדָ֔יו לְמַ֗עַן שִׁתִ֛י אֹתֹתַ֥י אֵ֖לֶּה בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃

2
Phonetic (Hebrew): ulema֡'an tּesapּer֩ bּe'azene֨y bineka֜ uben-bּineka֗ 'e֣t 'ashshe֤r hite'alּa֨letּiy֙ bּemitzera֔yim ve'et-'otota֖y 'ashsher-shsa֣metּiy ba֑m viֽyda'etּe֖m kּiy-'ani֥y yehvaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"I also want you to be able to tell your children and grandchildren about the powerful things I have done in Egypt and the signs I performed, so that you all may know that I am the LORD."

וּלְמַ֡עַן תְּסַפֵּר֩ בְּאָזְנֵ֨י בִנְךָ֜ וּבֶן־בִּנְךָ֗ אֵ֣ת אֲשֶׁ֤ר הִתְעַלַּ֨לְתִּי֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם וְאֶת־אֹתֹתַ֖י אֲשֶׁר־שַׂ֣מְתִּי בָ֑ם וִֽידַעְתֶּ֖ם כִּי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃

3
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּabo֨ moshshe֣h ve'aharon֮ 'el-pּare'oh֒ vayּo'mer֣u 'ela֗yv kּoֽh-'ama֤r yehvah֙ 'elohe֣y haֽ'iberi֔ym 'ad-mata֣y me'a֔netּa le'ano֖t mipּana֑y shshalּa֥ch 'amּi֖y veyaֽ'abeduֽniy׃
Edified Edition (EDE)So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, "This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me.'"

וַיָּבֹ֨א מֹשֶׁ֣ה וְאַהֲרֹן֮ אֶל־פַּרְעֹה֒ וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ אֵלָ֗יו כֹּֽה־אָמַ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֱלֹהֵ֣י הָֽעִבְרִ֔ים עַד־מָתַ֣י מֵאַ֔נְתָּ לֵעָנֹ֖ת מִפָּנָ֑י שַׁלַּ֥ח עַמִּ֖י וְיַֽעַבְדֻֽנִי׃

4
Phonetic (Hebrew): kּi֛y 'im-ma'e֥n 'atּa֖h leshshalּe֣cha 'et-'amּi֑y hineni֨y mebi֥y macha֛r 'arebּe֖h bּigebuleֽka׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"'If you refuse to let them go, tomorrow I will bring [2] (locusts) into your country.'"

כִּ֛י אִם־מָאֵ֥ן אַתָּ֖ה לְשַׁלֵּ֣חַ אֶת־עַמִּ֑י הִנְנִ֨י מֵבִ֥יא מָחָ֛ר אַרְבֶּ֖ה בִּגְבֻלֶֽךָ׃

5
Phonetic (Hebrew): vekisּah֙ 'et-'e֣yn ha'a֔retz velo֥ yuka֖l lire'o֣t 'et-ha'a֑retz ve'aka֣l ׀ 'et-ye֣ter hapּeleta֗h hanּishshe'e֤ret lakem֙ min-habּara֔d ve'akal֙ 'et-kּal-ha'e֔tz hatzּome֥cha lake֖m min-hashsּadeֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"'They will cover the surface of the land so completely that you won't even be able to see the ground. They will eat every plant and tree that survived the hail, leaving nothing at all.'"

וְכִסָּה֙ אֶת־עֵ֣ין הָאָ֔רֶץ וְלֹ֥א יוּכַ֖ל לִרְאֹ֣ת אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְאָכַ֣ל ׀ אֶת־יֶ֣תֶר הַפְּלֵטָ֗ה הַנִּשְׁאֶ֤רֶת לָכֶם֙ מִן־הַבָּרָ֔ד וְאָכַל֙ אֶת־כָּל־הָעֵ֔ץ הַצֹּמֵ֥חַ לָכֶ֖ם מִן־הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃

6
Phonetic (Hebrew): umale'֨u batּe֜yka ubatּe֣y kal-'abadeyka֮ ubatּe֣y kal-mitzerayim֒ 'ashshe֨r loֽ'-ra'֤u 'abote֨yka֙ va'ab֣ot 'abote֔yka miyּ֗om heyotam֙ 'al-ha֣'adama֔h 'a֖d hayּ֣om hazּe֑h vayּi֥pen vayּetze֖ me'i֥m pּare'oֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"'They will fill your palace, the houses of all your officials, and every home in Egypt. It will be something that neither your fathers nor your grandfathers have ever seen since the day they were born.'" After saying this, Moses turned and left Pharaoh.

וּמָלְא֨וּ בָתֶּ֜יךָ וּבָתֵּ֣י כָל־עֲבָדֶיךָ֮ וּבָתֵּ֣י כָל־מִצְרַיִם֒ אֲשֶׁ֨ר לֹֽא־רָא֤וּ אֲבֹתֶ֨יךָ֙ וַאֲב֣וֹת אֲבֹתֶ֔יךָ מִיּ֗וֹם הֱיוֹתָם֙ עַל־הָ֣אֲדָמָ֔ה עַ֖ד הַיּ֣וֹם הַזֶּ֑ה וַיִּ֥פֶן וַיֵּצֵ֖א מֵעִ֥ם פַּרְעֹֽה׃

7
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo'meru֩ 'abede֨y pare'o֜h 'ela֗yv 'ad-matay֙ yiheye֨h ze֥h la֨nu֙ lemoqe֔shsh shshalּach֙ 'et-ha֣'anashshi֔ym veyaֽ'abed֖u 'et-yehva֣h 'eloheyhe֑m hate֣rem tּeda֔ kּi֥y 'abeda֖h mitzeraֽyim׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Pharaoh’s officials said to him, "How much longer is this man going to be a trap for us? Let the people go so they can worship the LORD their God! Don't you realise yet that Egypt is already ruined?"

וַיֹּאמְרוּ֩ עַבְדֵ֨י פַרְעֹ֜ה אֵלָ֗יו עַד־מָתַי֙ יִהְיֶ֨ה זֶ֥ה לָ֨נוּ֙ לְמוֹקֵ֔שׁ שַׁלַּח֙ אֶת־הָ֣אֲנָשִׁ֔ים וְיַֽעַבְד֖וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֑ם הֲטֶ֣רֶם תֵּדַ֔ע כִּ֥י אָבְדָ֖ה מִצְרָֽיִם׃

8
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּushsha֞b 'et-moshshe֤h ve'eֽt-'aharon֙ 'el-pּare'o֔h vayּo֣'mer 'alehe֔m lek֥u 'ibed֖u 'et-yehva֣h 'eloheyke֑m mi֥y vami֖y haholekiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)So Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. He said to them, "Go and worship the LORD your God. But tell me, who exactly is going?"

וַיּוּשַׁ֞ב אֶת־מֹשֶׁ֤ה וְאֶֽת־אַהֲרֹן֙ אֶל־פַּרְעֹ֔ה וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֔ם לְכ֥וּ עִבְד֖וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם מִ֥י וָמִ֖י הַהֹלְכִֽים׃

9
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֣'mer moshshe֔h bּine'are֥ynu ubizeqene֖ynu nele֑ke bּebane֨ynu ubibenote֜nu bּetzo'ne֤nu ubibeqare֨nu֙ nele֔ke kּi֥y chag-yehva֖h laֽnu׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Moses replied, "We will all go, our young and our old, our sons and our daughters. We will take our flocks and our herds with us, because we must hold a festival to the LORD."

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה בִּנְעָרֵ֥ינוּ וּבִזְקֵנֵ֖ינוּ נֵלֵ֑ךְ בְּבָנֵ֨ינוּ וּבִבְנוֹתֵ֜נוּ בְּצֹאנֵ֤נוּ וּבִבְקָרֵ֨נוּ֙ נֵלֵ֔ךְ כִּ֥י חַג־יְהוָ֖ה לָֽנוּ׃

10
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֣'mer 'alehe֗m yehi֨y ke֤n yehvah֙ 'imּake֔m kּa'ashshe֛r 'ashshalּa֥ch 'eteke֖m ve'eֽt-tapּeke֑m re'֕u kּi֥y ra'a֖h ne֥ged pּeneykeֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Pharaoh said, "the LORD will certainly need to be with you if I ever let you and your families go! It's clear you are planning something evil."

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר אֲלֵהֶ֗ם יְהִ֨י כֵ֤ן יְהוָה֙ עִמָּכֶ֔ם כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר אֲשַׁלַּ֥ח אֶתְכֶ֖ם וְאֶֽת־טַפְּכֶ֑ם רְא֕וּ כִּ֥י רָעָ֖ה נֶ֥גֶד פְּנֵיכֶֽם׃

11
Phonetic (Hebrew): lo֣ ke֗n lekֽu-na֤ hagּebariym֙ ve'ibed֣u 'et-yehva֔h kּi֥y 'ota֖hּ 'atּe֣m mebaqeshshi֑ym vayega֣reshsh 'ota֔m me'e֖t pּene֥y pare'oֽh׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)"No! Only the men can go and worship the LORD, since that is what you originally asked for." Then Moses and Aaron were chased out of Pharaoh's presence.

לֹ֣א כֵ֗ן לְכֽוּ־נָ֤א הַגְּבָרִים֙ וְעִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה כִּ֥י אֹתָ֖הּ אַתֶּ֣ם מְבַקְשִׁ֑ים וַיְגָ֣רֶשׁ אֹתָ֔ם מֵאֵ֖ת פְּנֵ֥י פַרְעֹֽה׃פ

12
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֨'mer yehva֜h 'el-moshshe֗h nete֨h yadeka֜ 'al-'e֤retz mitzera֨yim֙ bּaֽ'arebּe֔h veya֖'al 'al-'e֣retz mitzera֑yim veyo'kal֙ 'et-kּal-'e֣shseb ha'a֔retz 'e֛t kּal-'ashshe֥r hishshe'i֖yr habּaraֽd׃
Edified Edition (EDE)the LORD said to Moses, "Reach out your hand over Egypt to bring the locusts. They will swarm over the land and eat every plant, everything the hail left behind."

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה נְטֵ֨ה יָדְךָ֜ עַל־אֶ֤רֶץ מִצְרַ֨יִם֙ בָּֽאַרְבֶּ֔ה וְיַ֖עַל עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וְיֹאכַל֙ אֶת־כָּל־עֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָ֔רֶץ אֵ֛ת כָּל־אֲשֶׁ֥ר הִשְׁאִ֖יר הַבָּרָֽד׃

13
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּe֨t moshshe֣h 'et-matּehu֮ 'al-'e֣retz mitzerayim֒ vֽayhva֗h niha֤g r֥ucha qadiym֙ bּa'a֔retz kּal-hayּ֥om hah֖u vekal-halּa֑yelah habּo֣qer haya֔h ver֨ucha֙ haqּadi֔ym nashsa֖ 'et-ha'arebּeֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Moses reached out his staff over Egypt, and the LORD caused an [3] (east wind) to blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning, the wind had brought the locusts.

וַיֵּ֨ט מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶת־מַטֵּהוּ֮ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַיִם֒ וַֽיהוָ֗ה נִהַ֤ג ר֥וּחַ קָדִים֙ בָּאָ֔רֶץ כָּל־הַיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא וְכָל־הַלָּ֑יְלָה הַבֹּ֣קֶר הָיָ֔ה וְר֨וּחַ֙ הַקָּדִ֔ים נָשָׂ֖א אֶת־הָאַרְבֶּֽה׃

14
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֣'al haֽ'arebּe֗h 'a֚l kּal-'e֣retz mitzera֔yim vayּa֕nach bּeko֖l gּeb֣ul mitzera֑yim kּabe֣d me'o֔d le֠panayv lo'-ha֨yah ke֤n 'arebּeh֙ kּamo֔hu ve'achara֖yv lo֥ yiֽheyeh-kּeֽn׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The locusts swarmed over the entire land of Egypt and settled everywhere. There had never been a swarm like it before, and there will never be one like it again.

וַיַּ֣עַל הָֽאַרְבֶּ֗ה עַ֚ל כָּל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיָּ֕נַח בְּכֹ֖ל גְּב֣וּל מִצְרָ֑יִם כָּבֵ֣ד מְאֹ֔ד לְ֠פָנָיו לֹא־הָ֨יָה כֵ֤ן אַרְבֶּה֙ כָּמֹ֔הוּ וְאַחֲרָ֖יו לֹ֥א יִֽהְיֶה־כֵּֽן׃

15
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayeka֞s 'et-'e֣yn kּal-ha'aretz֮ vatּecheshsha֣ke ha'aretz֒ vayּo֜'kal 'et-kּal-'e֣shseb ha'a֗retz ve'et֙ kּal-pּeri֣y ha'e֔tz 'ashshe֥r hoti֖yr habּara֑d velo'-nota֨r kּal-ye֧req bּa'e֛tz ube'e֥shseb hashsּade֖h bּekal-'e֥retz mitzeraֽyim׃
Edified Edition (EDE)They covered the face of the whole land until the ground was black. They ate every plant and all the fruit on the trees that the hail hadn't destroyed. Not a single green leaf was left on any tree or plant in all of Egypt.

וַיְכַ֞ס אֶת־עֵ֣ין כָּל־הָאָרֶץ֮ וַתֶּחְשַׁ֣ךְ הָאָרֶץ֒ וַיֹּ֜אכַל אֶת־כָּל־עֵ֣שֶׂב הָאָ֗רֶץ וְאֵת֙ כָּל־פְּרִ֣י הָעֵ֔ץ אֲשֶׁ֥ר הוֹתִ֖יר הַבָּרָ֑ד וְלֹא־נוֹתַ֨ר כָּל־יֶ֧רֶק בָּעֵ֛ץ וּבְעֵ֥שֶׂב הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרָֽיִם׃

16
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayemahe֣r pּare'o֔h liqero֖ lemoshshe֣h uֽle'aharo֑n vayּo֗'mer chata֛'tiy layhva֥h 'eloֽheyke֖m velakeֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Pharaoh quickly sent for Moses and Aaron. He said, "I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you."

וַיְמַהֵ֣ר פַּרְעֹ֔ה לִקְרֹ֖א לְמֹשֶׁ֣ה וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֑ן וַיֹּ֗אמֶר חָטָ֛אתִי לַיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם וְלָכֶֽם׃

17
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'atּa֗h shsa֣ na֤ chatּa'tiy֙ 'a֣ke hapּa֔'am veha'etּi֖yru layhva֣h 'eloheyke֑m veyaser֙ meֽ'ala֔y ra֖q 'et-hamּa֥vet hazּeֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"Please forgive my sin just this once and pray to the LORD your God to take this deadly plague away from me."

וְעַתָּ֗ה שָׂ֣א נָ֤א חַטָּאתִי֙ אַ֣ךְ הַפַּ֔עַם וְהַעְתִּ֖ירוּ לַיהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם וְיָסֵר֙ מֵֽעָלַ֔י רַ֖ק אֶת־הַמָּ֥וֶת הַזֶּֽה׃

18
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּetze֖ me'i֣m pּare'o֑h vayּe'etּa֖r 'el-yehvaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the LORD.

וַיֵּצֵ֖א מֵעִ֣ם פַּרְעֹ֑ה וַיֶּעְתַּ֖ר אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃

19
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּahapo֨ke yehva֤h rֽucha-yam֙ chaza֣q me'o֔d vayּishsּa'֙ 'et-ha֣'arebּe֔h vayּiteqa'e֖hu ya֣mּah sּ֑up lo֤ nishshe'ar֙ 'arebּe֣h 'echa֔d bּeko֖l gּeb֥ul mitzeraֽyim׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD changed the wind into a very strong west wind, which blew the locusts away and tossed them into the Red Sea. Not a single locust was left in all of Egypt.

וַיַּהֲפֹ֨ךְ יְהוָ֤ה רֽוּחַ־יָם֙ חָזָ֣ק מְאֹ֔ד וַיִּשָּׂא֙ אֶת־הָ֣אַרְבֶּ֔ה וַיִּתְקָעֵ֖הוּ יָ֣מָּה סּ֑וּף לֹ֤א נִשְׁאַר֙ אַרְבֶּ֣ה אֶחָ֔ד בְּכֹ֖ל גְּב֥וּל מִצְרָֽיִם׃

20
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayechazּe֥q yehva֖h 'et-le֣b pּare'o֑h velo֥ shshilּa֖ch 'et-bּene֥y yishsera'eֽl׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)But the LORD allowed Pharaoh’s heart to be stubborn, and he still would not let the Israelites go.

וַיְחַזֵּ֥ק יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֑ה וְלֹ֥א שִׁלַּ֖ח אֶת־בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ

21
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֨'mer yehva֜h 'el-moshshe֗h nete֤h yaֽdeka֙ 'al-hashshּama֔yim vi֥yhiy cho֖shsheke 'al-'e֣retz mitzera֑yim veyame֖shsh choֽshsheke׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Moses, "Reach out your hand toward the sky so that a [4] (darkness) will cover Egypt, a darkness so thick it can [5] (actually be felt)."

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר יְהוָ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה נְטֵ֤ה יָֽדְךָ֙ עַל־הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם וִ֥יהִי חֹ֖שֶׁךְ עַל־אֶ֣רֶץ מִצְרָ֑יִם וְיָמֵ֖שׁ חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃

22
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּe֥t moshshe֛h 'et-yad֖o 'al-hashshּama֑yim vayehi֧y choֽshsheke-'apela֛h bּekal-'e֥retz mitzera֖yim shshelo֥shshet yamiֽym׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Moses reached out his hand toward the sky, and a deep darkness covered all of Egypt for three days.

וַיֵּ֥ט מֹשֶׁ֛ה אֶת־יָד֖וֹ עַל־הַשָּׁמָ֑יִם וַיְהִ֧י חֹֽשֶׁךְ־אֲפֵלָ֛ה בְּכָל־אֶ֥רֶץ מִצְרַ֖יִם שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִֽים׃

23
Phonetic (Hebrew): loֽ'-ra'֞u 'i֣yshsh 'et-'achi֗yv velo'-qa֛mu 'i֥yshsh mitּachetּa֖yv shshelo֣shshet yami֑ym uֽlekal-bּene֧y yishsera'e֛l ha֥yah '֖or bּemoshshebotaֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)For three days, no one could see anyone else or even leave their place. Yet all the Israelites had light in the places where they lived.

לֹֽא־רָא֞וּ אִ֣ישׁ אֶת־אָחִ֗יו וְלֹא־קָ֛מוּ אִ֥ישׁ מִתַּחְתָּ֖יו שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֑ים וּֽלְכָל־בְּנֵ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל הָ֥יָה א֖וֹר בְּמוֹשְׁבֹתָֽם׃

24
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqera֨ pare'o֜h 'el-moshshe֗h vayּo֨'mer֙ leku֙ 'ibed֣u 'et-yehva֔h ra֛q tzo'neke֥m ubeqareke֖m yutzּa֑g gּaֽm-tapּeke֖m yele֥ke 'imּakeֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Pharaoh called for Moses and said, "Go and worship the LORD. Your families may go with you, but you must leave your flocks and herds behind."

וַיִּקְרָ֨א פַרְעֹ֜ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֗ה וַיֹּ֨אמֶר֙ לְכוּ֙ עִבְד֣וּ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה רַ֛ק צֹאנְכֶ֥ם וּבְקַרְכֶ֖ם יֻצָּ֑ג גַּֽם־טַפְּכֶ֖ם יֵלֵ֥ךְ עִמָּכֶֽם׃

25
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֣'mer moshshe֔h gּam-'atּa֛h tּitּe֥n bּeyade֖nu zebachi֣ym ve'ol֑ot ve'ashsi֖ynu layhva֥h 'eloheֽynu׃
Edified Edition (EDE)But Moses replied, "You must also allow us to take animals for sacrifices and burnt offerings to the LORD our God."

וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֔ה גַּם־אַתָּ֛ה תִּתֵּ֥ן בְּיָדֵ֖נוּ זְבָחִ֣ים וְעֹל֑וֹת וְעָשִׂ֖ינוּ לַיהוָ֥ה אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vegam-miqene֜nu yele֣ke 'imּa֗nu lo֤ tishshּa'er֙ pּaresa֔h kּi֚y mimּe֣nּu niqּa֔ch la'abo֖d 'et-yehva֣h 'elohe֑ynu va'ana֣chenu loֽ'-neda֗ maֽh-nּa'abod֙ 'et-yehva֔h 'ad-bּo'e֖nu shshaֽmּah׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"Our livestock must go with us; not a hoof will be left behind! We must use some of them to worship the LORD our God, and we won't know exactly which animals we will need until we get there."

וְגַם־מִקְנֵ֜נוּ יֵלֵ֣ךְ עִמָּ֗נוּ לֹ֤א תִשָּׁאֵר֙ פַּרְסָ֔ה כִּ֚י מִמֶּ֣נּוּ נִקַּ֔ח לַעֲבֹ֖ד אֶת־יְהוָ֣ה אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ לֹֽא־נֵדַ֗ע מַֽה־נַּעֲבֹד֙ אֶת־יְהוָ֔ה עַד־בֹּאֵ֖נוּ שָֽׁמָּה׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayechazּe֥q yehva֖h 'et-le֣b pּare'o֑h velo֥ 'aba֖h leshshalּechaֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)But the LORD allowed Pharaoh’s heart to be stubborn, and he refused to let them leave.

וַיְחַזֵּ֥ק יְהוָ֖ה אֶת־לֵ֣ב פַּרְעֹ֑ה וְלֹ֥א אָבָ֖ה לְשַׁלְּחָֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּoֽ'mer-l֥o pare'o֖h le֣ke me'ala֑y hishshּa֣mer leka֗ 'el-tּo֨sep֙ re'֣ot pּana֔y kּi֗y bּey֛om re'oteka֥ pana֖y tּamֽut׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Pharaoh shouted at Moses, "Get out of here! Make sure you never see my face again! The day you see my face, you will die!"

וַיֹּֽאמֶר־ל֥וֹ פַרְעֹ֖ה לֵ֣ךְ מֵעָלָ֑י הִשָּׁ֣מֶר לְךָ֗ אֶל־תֹּ֨סֶף֙ רְא֣וֹת פָּנַ֔י כִּ֗י בְּי֛וֹם רְאֹתְךָ֥ פָנַ֖י תָּמֽוּת׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֥'mer moshshe֖h kּe֣n dּibּa֑retּa lo'-'osi֥p '֖od re'֥ot pּaneֽyka׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)"As you wish," Moses replied. "I will never see your face again."

וַיֹּ֥אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֖ה כֵּ֣ן דִּבַּ֑רְתָּ לֹא־אֹסִ֥ף ע֖וֹד רְא֥וֹת פָּנֶֽיךָ׃פ
