Chapter 14
1
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayedabּe֥r yehova֖h 'el-moshshe֥h lּe'moֽr׃
Edified Edition (EDE)the LORD spoke to Moses and said,

וַיְדַבֵּ֥ר יְהֹוָ֖ה אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֥ה לֵּאמֹֽר׃

2
Phonetic (Hebrew): dּabּer֮ 'el-bּene֣y yishsera'el֒ veyashshu֗bu veyachanu֙ lipeney֙ pּi֣y hachiyro֔t bּe֥yn migedּo֖l ube֣yn hayּa֑m lipeney֙ bּa֣'al tzepo֔n nikech֥o tachan֖u 'al-hayּaֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"Tell the Israelites to turn back and camp in front of Pi-hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. Camp right by the sea, opposite Baal-zephon."

דַּבֵּר֮ אֶל־בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵל֒ וְיָשֻׁ֗בוּ וְיַחֲנוּ֙ לִפְנֵי֙ פִּ֣י הַחִירֹ֔ת בֵּ֥ין מִגְדֹּ֖ל וּבֵ֣ין הַיָּ֑ם לִפְנֵי֙ בַּ֣עַל צְפֹ֔ן נִכְח֥וֹ תַחֲנ֖וּ עַל־הַיָּֽם׃

3
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'ama֤r pּare'oh֙ libene֣y yishsera'e֔l nebuki֥ym he֖m bּa'a֑retz saga֥r 'aleyhe֖m hamּidebּaֽr׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"Pharaoh will think to himself, 'The Israelites are lost in the land; the desert has trapped them!'"

וְאָמַ֤ר פַּרְעֹה֙ לִבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל נְבֻכִ֥ים הֵ֖ם בָּאָ֑רֶץ סָגַ֥ר עֲלֵיהֶ֖ם הַמִּדְבָּֽר׃

4
Phonetic (Hebrew): vechizּaqetּi֣y 'et-leb-pּare'oh֮ verada֣p 'achareyhem֒ ve'ikּabeda֤h bּepare'oh֙ ubekal-cheyl֔o veyade'֥u mitzera֖yim kּiֽy-'ani֣y yehva֑h vayּֽa'ashsu-keֽn׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"I will make Pharaoh’s heart stubborn once more so that he will chase after you. But through Pharaoh and his entire army, I will be honoured, and the Egyptians will finally know that I am the LORD." So the Israelites did as they were told.

וְחִזַּקְתִּ֣י אֶת־לֵב־פַּרְעֹה֮ וְרָדַ֣ף אַחֲרֵיהֶם֒ וְאִכָּבְדָ֤ה בְּפַרְעֹה֙ וּבְכָל־חֵיל֔וֹ וְיָדְע֥וּ מִצְרַ֖יִם כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־כֵֽן׃

5
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּugּad֙ leme֣leke mitzera֔yim kּi֥y bara֖ch ha'a֑m va֠yּehapeke leba֨b pּare'o֤h va'abadayv֙ 'el-ha'a֔m vayּoֽ'mru֙ mah-zּo֣'t 'ashsi֔ynu kּiֽy-shshilּa֥chenu 'et-yishsera'e֖l me'abedeֽnu׃
Edified Edition (EDE)When the king of Egypt was told that the people had actually fled, he and his officials changed their minds. They said, "What have we done? Why did we let the Israelites go? We have lost our slaves!"

וַיֻּגַּד֙ לְמֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם כִּ֥י בָרַ֖ח הָעָ֑ם וַ֠יֵּהָפֵךְ לְבַ֨ב פַּרְעֹ֤ה וַעֲבָדָיו֙ אֶל־הָעָ֔ם וַיֹּֽאמרוּ֙ מַה־זֹּ֣את עָשִׂ֔ינוּ כִּֽי־שִׁלַּ֥חְנוּ אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מֵעָבְדֵֽנוּ׃

6
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּe'eso֖r 'et-rikebּ֑o ve'et-'amּ֖o laqa֥ch 'imּֽo׃
Edified Edition (EDE)So Pharaoh had his chariot prepared and took his army with him.

וַיֶּאְסֹ֖ר אֶת־רִכְבּ֑וֹ וְאֶת־עַמּ֖וֹ לָקַ֥ח עִמּֽוֹ׃

7
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiqּa֗ch shsheshsh-me'֥ot re֨keb֙ bּach֔ur veko֖l re֣keb mitzera֑yim veshshalishshi֖m 'al-kּulּֽo׃
Edified Edition (EDE)He took 600 of his best chariots, along with all the other chariots in Egypt, each with an officer on board.

וַיִּקַּ֗ח שֵׁשׁ־מֵא֥וֹת רֶ֨כֶב֙ בָּח֔וּר וְכֹ֖ל רֶ֣כֶב מִצְרָ֑יִם וְשָׁלִשִׁ֖ם עַל־כֻּלּֽוֹ׃

8
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayechazּe֣q yehova֗h 'et-le֤b pּare'oh֙ me֣leke mitzera֔yim vayּiredּo֕p 'achare֖y bּene֣y yishsera'e֑l ubene֣y yishsera'e֔l yotze'i֖ym bּeya֥d ramaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)the LORD allowed the heart of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, to be stubborn, and he chased after the Israelites, who were leaving with a sense of triumph.

וַיְחַזֵּ֣ק יְהֹוָ֗ה אֶת־לֵ֤ב פַּרְעֹה֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ מִצְרַ֔יִם וַיִּרְדֹּ֕ף אַחֲרֵ֖י בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל וּבְנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל יֹצְאִ֖ים בְּיָ֥ד רָמָֽה׃

9
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiredּep֨u mitzera֜yim 'achareyhe֗m vayּashsּi֤ygu 'otam֙ choni֣ym 'al-hayּa֔m kּal-sus֙ re֣keb pּare'o֔h uparashsha֖yv vecheyl֑o 'al-pּiy֙ haֽchiyro֔t lipene֖y bּa֥'al tzepoֽn׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The Egyptians, with all Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, horsemen, and troops, pursued them and caught up with them as they were camped by the sea near Pi-hahiroth, across from Baal-zephon.

וַיִּרְדְּפ֨וּ מִצְרַ֜יִם אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם וַיַּשִּׂ֤יגוּ אוֹתָם֙ חֹנִ֣ים עַל־הַיָּ֔ם כָּל־סוּס֙ רֶ֣כֶב פַּרְעֹ֔ה וּפָרָשָׁ֖יו וְחֵיל֑וֹ עַל־פִּי֙ הַֽחִירֹ֔ת לִפְנֵ֖י בַּ֥עַל צְפֹֽן׃

10
Phonetic (Hebrew): upare'o֖h hiqeri֑yb vayּishse'u֩ beneֽy-yishsera'e֨l 'et-'eyneyhe֜m vehinּe֥h mitzera֣yim ׀ nose֣'a 'achareyhe֗m vayּiֽyre'u֙ me'o֔d vayּitze'aq֥u beneֽy-yishsera'e֖l 'el-yehvaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)As Pharaoh drew closer, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching toward them. They were terrified and cried out to the LORD for help.

וּפַרְעֹ֖ה הִקְרִ֑יב וַיִּשְׂאוּ֩ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֨ל אֶת־עֵינֵיהֶ֜ם וְהִנֵּ֥ה מִצְרַ֣יִם ׀ נֹסֵ֣עַ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֗ם וַיִּֽירְאוּ֙ מְאֹ֔ד וַיִּצְעֲק֥וּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל אֶל־יְהוָֽה׃

11
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo'meru֮ 'el-moshsheh֒ haֽmibּeli֤y 'eyn-qebariym֙ bּemitzera֔yim leqachetּa֖nu lam֣ut bּamּidebּa֑r mah-zּo't֙ 'ashsi֣yta lּa֔nu lehotziy'a֖nu mimּitzeraֽyim׃
Edified Edition (EDE)They shouted at Moses, "Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us out here to die in the desert? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt?"

וַיֹּאמְרוּ֮ אֶל־מֹשֶׁה֒ הַֽמִבְּלִ֤י אֵין־קְבָרִים֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם לְקַחְתָּ֖נוּ לָמ֣וּת בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר מַה־זֹּאת֙ עָשִׂ֣יתָ לָּ֔נוּ לְהוֹצִיאָ֖נוּ מִמִּצְרָֽיִם׃

12
Phonetic (Hebrew): halo'-ze֣h hadּaba֗r 'ashsher֩ dּibּa֨renu 'ele֤yka bemitzera֨yim֙ le'mo֔r chada֥l mimּe֖nּu venaֽ'abeda֣h 'et-mitzera֑yim kּi֣y t֥ob la֨nu֙ 'abo֣d 'et-mitzera֔yim mimּute֖nu bּamּidebּaֽr׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"Didn't we tell you in Egypt, 'Leave us alone! Let us serve the Egyptians'? It would have been better for us to be slaves in Egypt than to die here in the desert!"

הֲלֹא־זֶ֣ה הַדָּבָ֗ר אֲשֶׁר֩ דִּבַּ֨רְנוּ אֵלֶ֤יךָ בְמִצְרַ֨יִם֙ לֵאמֹ֔ר חֲדַ֥ל מִמֶּ֖נּוּ וְנַֽעַבְדָ֣ה אֶת־מִצְרָ֑יִם כִּ֣י ט֥וֹב לָ֨נוּ֙ עֲבֹ֣ד אֶת־מִצְרַ֔יִם מִמֻּתֵ֖נוּ בַּמִּדְבָּֽר׃

13
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֨'mer moshshe֣h 'el-ha'am֮ 'al-tּiyra'u֒ hiֽteyatzeb֗u ure'u֙ 'et-yeshshu'a֣t yehva֔h 'ashsher-ya'ashse֥h lake֖m hayּ֑om kּi֗y 'ashshe֨r re'iyte֤m 'et-mitzera֨yim֙ hayּ֔om lo֥ tosi֛ypu lire'ota֥m '֖od 'ad-'olaֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)But Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid! Stand firm and you will see the [1] (salvation) the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today, you will never see again."

וַיֹּ֨אמֶר מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶל־הָעָם֮ אַל־תִּירָאוּ֒ הִֽתְיַצְב֗וּ וּרְאוּ֙ אֶת־יְשׁוּעַ֣ת יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה לָכֶ֖ם הַיּ֑וֹם כִּ֗י אֲשֶׁ֨ר רְאִיתֶ֤ם אֶת־מִצְרַ֨יִם֙ הַיּ֔וֹם לֹ֥א תֹסִ֛יפוּ לִרְאֹתָ֥ם ע֖וֹד עַד־עוֹלָֽם׃

14
Phonetic (Hebrew): yehva֖h yilּache֣m lake֑m ve'atּe֖m tּachariyshshֽun׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)"the LORD will fight for you; you only need to [2] (be quiet)."

יְהוָ֖ה יִלָּחֵ֣ם לָכֶ֑ם וְאַתֶּ֖ם תַּחֲרִישֽׁוּן׃פ

15
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֤'mer yehvah֙ 'el-moshshe֔h mah-tּitze'a֖q 'ela֑y dּabּe֥r 'el-bּeney-yishsera'e֖l veyisּaֽ'u׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Moses, "Why are you still crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move forward!"

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה מַה־תִּצְעַ֖ק אֵלָ֑י דַּבֵּ֥ר אֶל־בְּנֵי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל וְיִסָּֽעוּ׃

16
Phonetic (Hebrew): ve'atּa֞h hare֣m 'eֽt-matּeka֗ unete֧h 'et-yadeka֛ 'al-hayּa֖m ubeqa'e֑hu veyabo֧'u beneֽy-yishsera'e֛l bּet֥oke hayּa֖m bּayּabּashshaֽh׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"Raise your staff, reach out your hand over the sea, and divide it, so that the Israelites can walk through the middle of the sea on dry ground."

וְאַתָּ֞ה הָרֵ֣ם אֶֽת־מַטְּךָ֗ וּנְטֵ֧ה אֶת־יָדְךָ֛ עַל־הַיָּ֖ם וּבְקָעֵ֑הוּ וְיָבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּ֖ם בַּיַּבָּשָֽׁה׃

17
Phonetic (Hebrew): va'ani֗y hineni֤y mechazּeq֙ 'et-le֣b mitzera֔yim veyabo֖'u 'achareyhe֑m ve'ikּabeda֤h bּepare'oh֙ ubekal-cheyl֔o bּerikebּ֖o ubeparashshaֽyv׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"I will make the Egyptians stubborn so that they will chase you into the sea. Then I will receive honour through Pharaoh, his army, his chariots, and his horsemen."

וַאֲנִ֗י הִנְנִ֤י מְחַזֵּק֙ אֶת־לֵ֣ב מִצְרַ֔יִם וְיָבֹ֖אוּ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם וְאִכָּבְדָ֤ה בְּפַרְעֹה֙ וּבְכָל־חֵיל֔וֹ בְּרִכְבּ֖וֹ וּבְפָרָשָֽׁיו׃

18
Phonetic (Hebrew): veyade'֥u mitzera֖yim kּiy-'ani֣y yehva֑h bּehikּabedi֣y bּepare'o֔h bּerikebּ֖o ubeparashshaֽyv׃
Edified Edition (EDE)"The Egyptians will know that I am the LORD when I am honoured through Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen."

וְיָדְע֥וּ מִצְרַ֖יִם כִּי־אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֑ה בְּהִכָּבְדִ֣י בְּפַרְעֹ֔ה בְּרִכְבּ֖וֹ וּבְפָרָשָֽׁיו׃

19
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּisּa֞ male'a֣ke ha'elohi֗ym haholeke֙ lipeney֙ machane֣h yishsera'e֔l vayּe֖leke me'achareyhe֑m vayּisּa֞ 'amּ֤ud heֽ'anan֙ mipּeneyhe֔m vayּֽa'amo֖d me'achareyheֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the angel of God, who had been travelling in front of Israel’s army, moved and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from the front and stood behind them,

וַיִּסַּ֞ע מַלְאַ֣ךְ הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים הַהֹלֵךְ֙ לִפְנֵי֙ מַחֲנֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ מֵאַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם וַיִּסַּ֞ע עַמּ֤וּד הֶֽעָנָן֙ מִפְּנֵיהֶ֔ם וַיַּֽעֲמֹ֖ד מֵאַחֲרֵיהֶֽם׃

20
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּabo֞ bּe֣yn ׀ machane֣h mitzera֗yim ubeyn֙ machane֣h yishsera'e֔l vayehi֤y heֽ'anan֙ vehacho֔shsheke vayּa֖'er 'et-halּa֑yelah velo'-qara֥b ze֛h 'el-ze֖h kּal-halּaֽyelah׃
Edified Edition (EDE)coming between the army of Egypt and the army of Israel. The cloud brought darkness to the Egyptians but gave light to the Israelites. Throughout the entire night, the two armies did not come near each other.

וַיָּבֹ֞א בֵּ֣ין ׀ מַחֲנֵ֣ה מִצְרַ֗יִם וּבֵין֙ מַחֲנֵ֣ה יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וַיְהִ֤י הֶֽעָנָן֙ וְהַחֹ֔שֶׁךְ וַיָּ֖אֶר אֶת־הַלָּ֑יְלָה וְלֹא־קָרַ֥ב זֶ֛ה אֶל־זֶ֖ה כָּל־הַלָּֽיְלָה׃

21
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּe֨t moshshe֣h 'et-yado֮ 'al-hayּam֒ vayּ֣oleke yehva֣h ׀ 'et-ha֠yּam bּer֨ucha qadi֤ym 'azּah֙ kּal-halּa֔yelah vayּa֥shsem 'et-hayּa֖m lecharaba֑h vayּibּaqe'֖u hamּaֽyim׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then Moses reached out his hand over the sea, and all that night the LORD pushed the sea back with a [3] (strong east wind). He turned the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided.

וַיֵּ֨ט מֹשֶׁ֣ה אֶת־יָדוֹ֮ עַל־הַיָּם֒ וַיּ֣וֹלֶךְ יְהוָ֣ה ׀ אֶת־הַ֠יָּם בְּר֨וּחַ קָדִ֤ים עַזָּה֙ כָּל־הַלַּ֔יְלָה וַיָּ֥שֶׂם אֶת־הַיָּ֖ם לֶחָרָבָ֑ה וַיִּבָּקְע֖וּ הַמָּֽיִם׃

22
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּabo֧'u beneֽy-yishsera'e֛l bּet֥oke hayּa֖m bּayּabּashsha֑h vehamּa֤yim lahem֙ choma֔h miֽymiyna֖m umishsּemo'laֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The Israelites went through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left.

וַיָּבֹ֧אוּ בְנֵֽי־יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּ֖ם בַּיַּבָּשָׁ֑ה וְהַמַּ֤יִם לָהֶם֙ חֹמָ֔ה מִֽימִינָ֖ם וּמִשְּׂמֹאלָֽם׃

23
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּiredּep֤u mitzera֨yim֙ vayּabo֣'u 'achareyhe֔m kּo֚l s֣us pּare'o֔h rikebּ֖o uparashsha֑yv 'el-tּ֖oke hayּaֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The Egyptians pursued them, and all Pharaoh’s horses, chariots, and horsemen followed them into the middle of the sea.

וַיִּרְדְּפ֤וּ מִצְרַ֨יִם֙ וַיָּבֹ֣אוּ אַחֲרֵיהֶ֔ם כֹּ֚ל ס֣וּס פַּרְעֹ֔ה רִכְבּ֖וֹ וּפָרָשָׁ֑יו אֶל־תּ֖וֹךְ הַיָּֽם׃

24
Phonetic (Hebrew): vaֽyehiy֙ bּe'ashshemo֣ret habּo֔qer vayּashsheqe֤p yehvah֙ 'el-machane֣h mitzera֔yim bּe'amּ֥ud 'e֖shsh ve'ana֑n vayּa֕ham 'e֖t machane֥h mitzeraֽyim׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Just before dawn, the LORD looked down from the pillar of fire and cloud at the Egyptian army and threw them into a panic.

וַֽיְהִי֙ בְּאַשְׁמֹ֣רֶת הַבֹּ֔קֶר וַיַּשְׁקֵ֤ף יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מַחֲנֵ֣ה מִצְרַ֔יִם בְּעַמּ֥וּד אֵ֖שׁ וְעָנָ֑ן וַיָּ֕הָם אֵ֖ת מַחֲנֵ֥ה מִצְרָֽיִם׃

25
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֗sar 'e֚t 'opa֣n marekּebota֔yv vaֽyenahage֖hu bּikebedu֑t vayּo֣'mer mitzera֗yim 'an֨usah֙ mipּene֣y yishsera'e֔l kּi֣y yehva֔h nilecha֥m lahe֖m bּemitzeraֽyim p
Edified Edition (EDE)He caused their chariot wheels to come off so that they could hardly move. The Egyptians shouted, "Let's get away from the Israelites! the LORD is fighting for them against Egypt!"

וַיָּ֗סַר אֵ֚ת אֹפַ֣ן מַרְכְּבֹתָ֔יו וַֽיְנַהֲגֵ֖הוּ בִּכְבֵדֻ֑ת וַיֹּ֣אמֶר מִצְרַ֗יִם אָנ֨וּסָה֙ מִפְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל כִּ֣י יְהוָ֔ה נִלְחָ֥ם לָהֶ֖ם בְּמִצְרָֽיִם פ

26
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּo֤'mer yehvah֙ 'el-moshshe֔h nete֥h 'et-yadeka֖ 'al-hayּa֑m veyashshu֤bu hamּa֨yim֙ 'al-mitzera֔yim 'al-rikebּ֖o ve'al-pּarashshaֽyv׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Then the LORD said to Moses, "Reach out your hand over the sea so that the waters come back over the Egyptians, their chariots, and their horsemen."

וַיֹּ֤אמֶר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה נְטֵ֥ה אֶת־יָדְךָ֖ עַל־הַיָּ֑ם וְיָשֻׁ֤בוּ הַמַּ֨יִם֙ עַל־מִצְרַ֔יִם עַל־רִכְבּ֖וֹ וְעַל־פָּרָשָֽׁיו׃

27
Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּet֩ moshshe֨h 'et-yad֜o 'al-hayּa֗m vayּa֨shshab hayּa֜m lipen֥ot bּo֨qer֙ le'e֣ytan֔o umitzera֖yim nasi֣ym liqera't֑o vayena'e֧r yehva֛h 'et-mitzera֖yim bּet֥oke hayּaֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)Moses reached out his hand over the sea, and at daybreak, the sea returned to its normal level. The Egyptians tried to run away from the water, but the LORD swept them into the middle of the sea.

וַיֵּט֩ מֹשֶׁ֨ה אֶת־יָד֜וֹ עַל־הַיָּ֗ם וַיָּ֨שָׁב הַיָּ֜ם לִפְנ֥וֹת בֹּ֨קֶר֙ לְאֵ֣יתָנ֔וֹ וּמִצְרַ֖יִם נָסִ֣ים לִקְרָאת֑וֹ וַיְנַעֵ֧ר יְהוָ֛ה אֶת־מִצְרַ֖יִם בְּת֥וֹךְ הַיָּֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּashshu֣bu hamּa֗yim vayekasּ֤u 'et-hare֨keb֙ ve'et-hapּa֣rashshi֔ym lekol֙ che֣yl pּare'o֔h habּa'i֥ym 'achareyhe֖m bּayּa֑m loֽ'-nishshe'a֥r bּahe֖m 'ad-'echaֽd׃
Edified Edition (EDE)The water returned and covered the chariots, the horsemen, and Pharaoh's entire army that had followed the Israelites into the sea. Not a single one of them survived.

וַיָּשֻׁ֣בוּ הַמַּ֗יִם וַיְכַסּ֤וּ אֶת־הָרֶ֨כֶב֙ וְאֶת־הַפָּ֣רָשִׁ֔ים לְכֹל֙ חֵ֣יל פַּרְעֹ֔ה הַבָּאִ֥ים אַחֲרֵיהֶ֖ם בַּיָּ֑ם לֹֽא־נִשְׁאַ֥ר בָּהֶ֖ם עַד־אֶחָֽד׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): ubene֧y yishsera'e֛l halek֥u bayּabּashsha֖h bּet֣oke hayּa֑m vehamּa֤yim lahem֙ choma֔h miֽymiyna֖m umishsּemo'laֽm
Edified Edition (EDE)But the Israelites had walked through the middle of the sea on dry ground, with walls of water on their right and on their left.

וּבְנֵ֧י יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל הָלְכ֥וּ בַיַּבָּשָׁ֖ה בְּת֣וֹךְ הַיָּ֑ם וְהַמַּ֤יִם לָהֶם֙ חֹמָ֔ה מִֽימִינָ֖ם וּמִשְּׂמֹאלָֽם

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּ֨oshsha yehva֜h bּayּ֥om hah֛u 'et-yishsera'e֖l miyּa֣d mitzera֑yim vayּa֤re yishsera'el֙ 'et-mitzera֔yim me֖t 'al-shsepa֥t hayּaֽm׃
Edified Edition (EDE)That day the LORD saved Israel from the power of the Egyptians, and the Israelites saw the Egyptians lying dead on the shore.

וַיּ֨וֹשַׁע יְהוָ֜ה בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֛וּא אֶת־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל מִיַּ֣ד מִצְרָ֑יִם וַיַּ֤רְא יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ אֶת־מִצְרַ֔יִם מֵ֖ת עַל־שְׂפַ֥ת הַיָּֽם׃

Phonetic (Hebrew): vayּa֨re yishsera'e֜l 'et-hayּa֣d hagּedola֗h 'ashshe֨r 'ashsa֤h yehvah֙ bּemitzera֔yim vayּiֽyre'֥u ha'a֖m 'et-yehva֑h vayּֽa'ami֨ynu֙ bּaֽyhva֔h ubemoshshe֖h 'abedּֽo׃p
Edified Edition (EDE)When the Israelites saw the great power the LORD had shown against the Egyptians, the people stood in awe of the LORD. They put their trust in the LORD and in His servant Moses.

וַיַּ֨רְא יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל אֶת־הַיָּ֣ד הַגְּדֹלָ֗ה אֲשֶׁ֨ר עָשָׂ֤ה יְהוָה֙ בְּמִצְרַ֔יִם וַיִּֽירְא֥וּ הָעָ֖ם אֶת־יְהוָ֑ה וַיַּֽאֲמִ֨ינוּ֙ בַּֽיהוָ֔ה וּבְמֹשֶׁ֖ה עַבְדּֽוֹ׃פ
